From the moment we walked in, we had an amazing experience. Emma, our server, was absolutely fantastic — so bubbly, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. She gave wonderful recommendations that did not disappoint, and her positive energy truly elevated our entire meal. The service was flawless, and our food arrived quickly without feeling rushed at all. The spaghetti was perfectly cooked, the mozzarella was fresh and delicious, and the meatballs were packed with flavor. And the tiramisu? Easily the best I’ve had in a long time — light, rich, and the perfect way to end the meal. Overall, this place exceeded my first time expectations. I’ll definitely be recommending it to all of my friends and can’t wait to come back!

Came for dessert and digestifs and had an amazing experience. Cozy heated patio, great olive oil cake, and delicious house-made sassafras amaro. Special shout out to our awesome server CJ, who made us feel particularly welcomed and seen :)

Great hidden gem! We sat at the bar because we are degenerates and don’t make plans or reservations. We wanted a bottle of wine, the one I picked they were out of but the server brought us a taste of something similar which was nice, we ended up getting that bottle. The atmosphere was perfect. Moody lighting, open kitchen where everyone is yelling “corner!” or “heard!” I really love that vibe. The food was incredible. The sourdough focaccia was salty, sour, earthy…with the sweet butter 🫠 then the arugula salad with the apples, nut clusters and parm! But the lasagna…melts in your mouth. So delicate. The portions are all small but I love that because then we can order more things. I would 10000% come back here. Great date night spot.

I love this place. We come here for birthdays and anniversaries. The food is always good, the menu changes, the staff is friendly (and cared for), the place values sustainability and local options. Sitting at the bar and watching the cooking is my favorite. Tonight we had the olive oil cake with honey cream and it was my favorite dessert I’ve had in a lonnnnng time.

What a terrific local Italian restaurant. It has an excellent atmosphere across from a park and the service is top-notch. We have been several times and have not been disappointed yet. The food is flavorful and makes a good presentation. We also appreciate the fact that owner/management takes excellent care of their employees and they should be very proud of that. Our society needs more owners who treat their employees with common decency and respect.

A Top 10 for me. There's a lot of flash in Austin with little substance, but L'oca is the real deal. Friendly, accessible, but unique & intentional at the same time. Really, a beloved institution.

I booked a post-wedding ceremony dinner with L'Oca d'Oro for a party of 12 and had to do that remotely from Oregon via email mostly. They came up with a lovely option for the party and made it an incredible experience. They handled every question and request with pleasantness / professionalism and came up with suggestions of their own that made things even nicer. We could not have had a better evening. The bride and groom had an amazing time. The staff was exceptionally attentive and we enjoyed seeing them watching as everyone ate... oooo'ing and ahhhh'ing over the flavors. We were able to have appetizers / drinks at the bar and then dinner in a more private room in back. They made cannoli tours for the 'wedding cake' that were _so_ fresh, delicious and beautiful. The restaurant and staff have our gratitude forever.

What a lovely experience! I went a Tuesday with some girlfriends and we had just the best time. Our server, Hayden, was patient and kind. We ordered the focaccia, melon salad, some gnocchis and the rigatoni. Everything was so flavorful and balanced.

L'Oca d'Oro must be the best restaurant in Mueller. First of all, they are always changing their menu and updating the dishes. They also source all the ingredients from local food sources. The wagu meatball is fantastic and their pasta is top tier. Did I mention that they have a happy hour deal for pasta and drinks? And a nice view of the Mueller Lake? It can't get better than that.

Had a very splendid early dinner here. We ordered two of the pastas and they were both very delicious! The pasta tasted fresh and so did the combination of flavors made combining the sauce and other toppings. The focaccia was absolutely delicious also. Came with a sweet butter and oil dip that brought out the saltiness in the bread beautifully. The spritz’s were half off for happy hour and a delightful addition to the pasta. Had a super pleasant experience, great service, and would return ✨

Wow! An absolutely fantastic restaurant. The bread and pasta are world class and definitely the best I’ve had in Austin. I am always excited to see shrubs on menus and it’s a bonus when they’re NA. The atmosphere was great, the service was quick and friendly, and the food was, again, top tier. We thoroughly enjoyed the bucatini al limone and the Rigatoni with amtriciana sauce. I will dream of that guanciale when doing future pasta nights at home. If you’re looking for a fancy Italian date night, this is the spot for you. Be sure to say hi to the friendly duck out front if she’s still there!

Loved the experience and the food. All the pasta was delightful, the recommended wine paired well, and the desert was delightful. Best cannoli I've had in a while. Service was quick and polite, not intrusive to the experience.

L’Oca d’Oro is amazing Italian restaurant that blends creative, elevated cuisine in a relaxed, friendly way. Love that they serve low ABV drinks. Love that it’s an open kitchen. They had macaroons off-menu once and I really hope they become a fixture on the menu because OH. MY. WORDDDDD

Stopped by L’Oca d’Oro for pasta while visiting Austin. The restaurant is cute, and the service was good, though a little rushed. We tried the sourdough focaccia, green corn panisse, rigatoni with broccoli, and mafaldine with guajillo butter. The focaccia and panisse were delicious! I was unsure about the mafaldine since it was vegan, but it turned out great. My partner liked the rigatoni, but it was a bit heavy for me. Overall, a nice spot, but not mind-blowing.

My friend and I enjoyed a really lovely happy hour meal yesterday (8/28). We sat at the bar where we had a front row few to the open kitchen which I really enjoyed. I'm a big fan of watching the kitchen staff work. The cooks working did a wonderful job and looked like they had great attention to detail as they prepared dishes. The bartenders were very attentive throughout our entire meal as we ordered a few drinks and several dishes to split. My friend had a few glasses of wine and I had the Orange Cream Soda with Tito's and Limoncello Spitzers. We were happy with all of our drinks. For dinner, we split several items: Rosemary Sourdough Focaccia, Fresh Mozzarella, Zucchini Fries, Spaghetti alla Nerano, and Pappardelle. We ate every single bite and were impressed by the quality of the meal. You can tell the pastas were made fresh and were cooked perfectly. The beef shoulder in the Pappardelle was tender and insanely flavorful. The focaccia was crunchy and soft in all the right places. The mozzarella was super smooth and paired nicely with the onion jam and thinly sliced melon. I think my least favorite item was the zucchini fries only because the zucchini got kind of flabby during the frying process. I think I would have liked them more if the zucchini was thicker cut to hold up better, but I still enjoyed them. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and I look forward to returning.

We love this place and what they do: fair wages for the staff, local providers for the food, always changing menu that is always inventive and tasty. It’s not your spaghetti and meatballs kinda place (but the meatballs are amazing) so open mind is required. Wines are always thoughtfully selected and very affordable.

My new favorite restaurant in Austin! The service and ambiance were perfect. Absolutely delicious food and drinks. Their Rosemary Sourdough Focaccia, Spaghetti Cacio e Pepe, Conchiglie, and Chicken are must tries! Everything is sharable and served family style. Definitely worth eating at this restaurant!

We LOVED our dining experience. We sat on the patio as we brought our service dog in training. The staff was all very friendly and attentive, even bringing our pup a bowl of water. The food was stellar. We ordered a second serving of the sourdough focaccia because it was THAT good! At the recommendation of our server, we had the fresh mozzarella, which was super tasty! We also ordered the Ricotta Cavatelli alla Norma, and let me tell you I could have eaten two of those! The Mafaldine was good as well, and we both loved our drinks (which I can’t recall now, but we both tried what our server suggested). Finished with the peaches and cream cannoli, which you can tell our pup had her eye on as well. All in all, we will be back!

Delicious foccacia, and great cocktails. Pasta was well-balanced and our sauces were not too heavy. I was really craving Tiramisu but it was just alright. We came for the happy hour deals, which are an amazing value and I highly recommend. It's expensive to pay for full price.

Beware: They charge a 20% pre-tax before services are even rendered - it’s your responsibility to pay your staff a living wage not the customers and the charge to use a CC, pay cash here and yes, I used my debit card and it was still charged the % This place is **mediocre at best**. If you’re looking for real Italian food with decent portions, fresh ingredients, or a price point that actually makes sense — **look elsewhere**. Steak was ok, a little fatty for the price point. Meatballs were dry and sauce was lukewarm. We came for a friend’s birthday and left genuinely confused. At these prices, *everything* should be made fresh… and you can absolutely tell it’s not — right down to the pasta. This is what they call a **$36 lasagna**: two sad sheets of pasta and a sprinkle of “wagyu.” That’s it. No depth, no substance, no flavor — just audacity. Be warned: you won’t leave full. You’ll leave thinking **Olive Garden would’ve been the better choice**, and that’s saying something. Overpriced, underwhelming, and completely forgettable.

Came here for Austin Restaurant Week since part of it goes to the food bank, which I thought was cool. The $50 set menu sounded like a decent deal, but honestly the portions were pretty small and the food just didn’t deliver. FYI: the photos I posted are zoomed in—so the portions may look bigger than they actually were. Starter: I got the Mozzarella, Peach & Pickled Melon Panzanella. There were barely any peaches in there—just tiny little cubes you could hardly see. Everywhere else I’ve had this dish, the peach is sliced and you can actually taste it. Pasta: The Rigatoni Arrabbiata was the real letdown. No spice at all, just this weird sourness that tasted more like lemon juice than tomato. Pretty unpleasant, and I couldn’t even finish it. I hate wasting food, but I just couldn’t. Dessert: The melon sorbet was fine, but nothing special. Totally average. I’m a big Italian food fan (I even go to Italy in the summers for the food), so I came in excited. But this was just disappointing. And honestly, if the food had been good, I wouldn’t mind the automatic 20% tip, but with tonight’s experience it felt ridiculous. Then on top of that, they tack on a credit card fee? Pretty speechless, lol.

I asked to get a to go box, my server packaged the food for me and handed me the bag. This morning I looked and was given someone else's leftovers. This is disgusting and unsanitary. Our server was nice but we had to ask for water 3 times for our table of 5. Our plates weren't cleared after apps for over 30 minutes. We were told the main dish came with bread and it never arrived. The server wasn't over booked and lacked attention. Food was excellent but the fact that we were given someone else's used and eaten food to take home is 100% unacceptable and makes me question the overall hygiene of L'oca d'oro.
