The brisket was the best I've ever had, and I've been to some of the best places. So tender I could pull it apart with two forks, no knife needed. Still has a nice bark on the outside. The potato salad and beans were fine but I wouldn't come back for them.

Texas BBQ doesn’t get better than this! WOW, my third time here (I come about once a year to Austin) and never miss Southside BBQ. I’ve had the Southside Combo Plate twice and absolutely loved it—best brisket anywhere—so I got adventurous and tried the Chopped Brisket Baked Potato (pictured). Double WOW. The brisket melted in my mouth. Highly recommended. Now, don’t stop there because the peach cobbler is out of this world. Even better with a large scoop of vanilla ice cream. Your tummy will be so happy (and a bit stuffed)! Don’t miss this place—I never do.

I don't understand why more people aren't dining at Southside BBQ in the Arbor Walk. The lean brisket was very nice (smokey, not too heavily seasoned and LEAN). the classic Southside sausage is always great with the crackin' casing and nicely seasoned beef sausage. The place was empty on a Saturday afternoon? I guess it's not a great location as Rudy's down the road is always packed, yet their food isn't half as good as what they're serving at Southside. Next time you have a north Austin BBQ craving check out Southside in the Arbor Walk - you'll be glad you did

Had the two meat plater with brisket and turkey. Both were absolutely delicious and amazing. The seasoning was spot on! Both were juicy and moist. For the sides had the coleslaw which was great but the Mac and cheese stole the show! Been to several Sothside Locations now and have yet to be disappointed.

We came here on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. Wasn’t too crowded and we were able to order quickly. We both ordered the large Southside Combo sandwich. We waited maybe 5 min to receive our sandwiches. The sandwich seemed larger than the bun they have wrapped up at the counter. It was large enough that we probably could have shared one sandwich - we both took a half home. Don’t even think about getting sides to go with it or you will for sure be taking leftovers home! The brisket was moist and the sausage tasty. They even toast the inside of the bun which gives it a nice crunchiness when you bite into the sandwich. The inside is pretty large and the guys behind the counter are very nice and patient. This location is out of our way but whenever we are in the vicinity again, we will come back for more great tasting BBQ!!!

The multiple meats we tried were over the top good! Enjoyed something I can’t remember the name of which was sausage stuffed with Jalepenos and cheddar cheese. Excellent. As well, the baby back ribs and brisket was phenomenal! Overall good atmosphere and customer service!

I had the Sausage and ribs. While the sausage was really good the ribs were mid at best. The sides were the usual old school under salted sides (beans, potato salad) The service was excellent very friendly and helpful people. They have some stuff you don't see at other spots like lamb and pork steak. So I will be back.

9-21-22 about 6pm: tried the 3 meat combo. Sliced brisket, pork ribs and turkey with mac n cheese & pinto beans. Got a side of the Sausage Slammer- sausage with Jalapeño pepper and cheese. Everything was really good. Peach cobbler was ok/meh. Recommended.

Don't get me wrong. The food is very good for Texas BBQ...that said most Central Texas BBQ is good. The hang up for me is cost. Almost $18 for 1/4lb turkey and 1/4 brisket with NO sides and water. A 2 meat plate is $20+ which is technically a better value but still over $20 is a lot for lunch IMHO.

Everyone was so nice, especially my cashier today! The meat itself was good, but the sauce, mac, and potato salad were all bad. This was my first time. If I get wind they change the recipes, I'd try it again.

Nah, it's gross. I was very disappointed by how dry my meat was. Honestly, the mac and cheese tasted old. And their bread was what saved it for me. Them potatoes are big, and they are passable, but they could be a bit smaller. I did enjoy the various options they have with the condiments, BBQ sauces, and the veggies. The staff were okay, no complaints.

Went in. Didn’t get a greeting or nothing. No sign saying where to go just a meat counter. Waited a bit to be redirected to a he area to order hot ready to eat food.Went to the area to order hot food. Didn’t get the chance to see the meat being sliced or the brisket I asked to get. Didn’t think anything of it because this place has 4 stars and great reviews. Got home and there was no bbq sauce which I asked about and was rudely told it’s in the meat… brisket was mostly fatty and sliced weird. Like lil chunks not slices. The sausage was bland and chewy. The beans were not seasoned. The potato salad was good. Probably stick with Rudy’s for fast bbq next time.

The brisket was extremely dry and tasted really bad. I cannot speak for the service or the atmosphere because I got it to go, but the food smelled like gasoline. i’m giving it two stars because I think it might have just been a fluke. I would still go and try it just to decide for yourself.

Workers were nice spent $41 and some change just for the brisket to not have seasoning for it to be dry and a lot of fat and the sausage was mushy and it tasted like grocery sausage and the potato salad did not taste like potato salad, mayonnaise and the beans had no flavor to add barbecue sauce. Never recommend this place you should close down.

The food was bad. Sausage was really dry. The brisket was really dry. The place smells like raw meat and hasn't been cleaned properly after cutting the meat. Basically smells like a butcher place. I will never come back to them. The people staff are very rude and just look like they don't want you there and when you're ordering it sounds like they're doing a lot of work for you which is ridiculous that I even paid from them but we had to go there with my family since we were so hungry and didn't want to go somewhere else.
