NDM Fish House is located off the waterfront street in Catalina. We decided to give them a try. The restaurant is small, with booth seating and some chairs, for non-booting seating and makes it easier for handicap customers. We came in, were seated and provided menus. We ordered water while perusing the menu. The waiter that helped us was friendly, but kept forgetting our waters. He finally brought the waters and we placed our meal orders. We had lobster bisque and fish and shrimp. The food was brought out hot. The lobster bisque was very good. The fish and chips were excellent. The crust on the halibut fish was crispy, light and really had a good flavor. The French fries were dipped in something and they were excellent. We all tried each other’s food and thought it was all good. It was nice to eat at a local restaurant and it made for a nice midday meal while touring Catalina Island
I went here three times for lunch while I stayed in Avalon. That should say something! I loved the atmosphere and the food! I had the pier salad with whatever fish they had for the day. Delicious. My teen loved the fish tacos and my husband enjoyed the fish and chips. Many people were ordering sushi which also looked great. This is one of those treasures that make you look forward to returning to a place! We’ll be back.
Ideal local fish house. Fresh catches on your plate ! Seasoned to perfection, a taste you’ll remember. Sushi was so good 😊
WOW! A super unassuming, tucked away little place that served our BEST meal on the island. Fish tacos with blackened halibut, ripper roll and b-rock roll. All were absolutely delicious. We will definitely be back!
Best fish sandwich I ever had. Some dishes have larger portion sizes for similar prices. Definitely worth trying if you are close.
NDMC Fish House .... A hole in the wall restaurant on Catalina Island that carries a huge stick. I was out here celebrating a friends birthday. After a day of walking around the island it was time to eat. All we saw on the sign outside was "Sushi". We were before the lunch crowd and were immediately sat at a booth. The ambiance and vibe was that of my favorite Sushi house in Kihei, Maui. Kenneth was out waiter... Cool vibe emoting from him. After reading the previous reviews. We followed suit and ordered the halibut fish and chips, ceviche, Fender Hand Roll and Ripper Roll. (You Google reviewers... YOU DID NOT DISAPPOINT.) NDMK Fish House you came in clutch. The food presentation, quality and taste was FEAKING AWESOME. Kenneth you're BADASS!! Thank you for taking care of us. Even though you were mannered by the afternoon crow you still kept you cool and did not waiver on your vibe. NDMK Fish House you've gained a new customer. Mahalos plenty. Mahalos lots.
We got seated pretty quickly and the food was really good, the fried fish collar were really good but the shrimp cost a bit too much for 5 of them
AMAZING food and service!!! Recommend: Clam chowder B rock roll (8 pieces, hot roll) Island of romance roll (8 pieces, cold roll) Seaweed salad Just getting these filled me and my husband up for lunch!!! I had such a lovely birthday lunch here. I would definitely come back to try more!! Highly recommend!!!
Do you like fish? Do you have taste buds? We started with awesome sashimi. Then we went to a fish collar that reminded me of the best "end of a fishing day" grill up. And then it was time for the Catalina Cioppino. This soup will not be found anywhere else in Southern California. There may be similar takes; there may be others with the name; but this, this was divine.

We popped in after the main flood of Catalina 50k & 50m runners so didn’t have to wait long when we arrived at 6pm. James was a rockstar as our server when ordered nearly one thing from every menu category. The clam chowder was too popular so we tried the lobster bisque and miso soup; both delish, preferred the miso as it was less salty. Seared Scallops, blackened shrimp, steamed clams, and the Corner Hand-roll were perfect. Will be stopping here again!
Excellent sushi spot! Super fresh sushi and beautifully presented à la carte dishes. The lobster bisque soup is exceptional with chunks of lobster! The ambiance is friendly and the service is prompt, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal. I’ll definitely be coming back!
We absolutely loved the food! We had the scallops as an appetizer and sushi rolls as our meal. Super fresh fish (that they catch) and it was so good! Definitely recommend if you love fresh seafood! If you are going for dinner, get there early! Daniel was our server and he was amazing! I also have a gluten allergy and they were very accommodating!
This place is a hidden gem. Large d back and charming! You can taste how fresh the fish is. The fish snd chips was melt in your mouth yummy. The sushi was fresh and perfect! We have to come back to Catalina just to go back! They had surfing playing on the tv which was fitting!

The place is ok, serves some really good food but it kinda depends on what you order. The fish and chips we ordered (with halibut) were absolutely amazing. Cooked to perfection! The spiny lobster was nice but nothing special to make it cost $80. It also came with a side but then I ended up being charged for the side so … IDK. One of the sushi rolls was ok but the soft crab one was not - the crab was black from being over fried and didn’t taste fresh. Staff is nice and friendly.
Okay place for seafood, though not amazing. The bread on my lobster roll was too stiff and the lobster itself wasn't tender enough. The fries were decent. I liked their shrimp burrito. The fish and chips was okay... but the pieces of fish served were much smaller than I was expecting.
Arrival: 12:30pm on a Sunday Wait time: basically none Service was decent. Food came out pretty fast. Bottled water for sale only, so bring your own water. Poke bowl with salmon. Half rice, half lettuce Rice was very hard. Not fully cooked. Salmon was minimally seasoned, but tasted pretty fresh. I added soy sauce and the rice ended up too salty. The masago, avocado, seaweed salad, and edamame were good. Spicy tuna burger It was good. Has a decent kick (coming from someone who had a spice tolerance). Fries were very salty. Shoe string. Very crunchy. Garlic bread was good.

Bison burger was a great disappointment. Fries were luke-warm. The halibut was nice and fluffy but lacked seasoning. The nigiri was bomb though.
I did a pickup order and it was quick to come out. The person on the phone was nice and answered all my questions, but that’s the only positive point. Hence a 2 star. The rice was so hard in my nigiri it would get stuck in my teeth, I couldn’t stomach eating it. My husband had a difficult time with his poke bowl too and had to throw it away. Just not good, unfortunately. The fish was mediocre at best. I had high hopes, what a waste of $60.

I went here for my birthday and waited. Got seated after maybe 5+ of waiting to be seated. That was nice not waiting long to be seated. But after that is where it went down hill. Waited about 25 minutes just to have my order taken.I ordered a Poke salad. My boyfriend ordered fish and chips. I'd like to say I enjoyed the food but they never even brought my entree. I waited 30 mins watched sushi rolls go out like crazy. When I called the waiter over he says oh the check? And I was like but... And he looked at the table and just goes oh the poke bowl? And just says he'll remove it from the bill. Never did he apologize and say I'm sorry let me check on that! At this point I just wanted to leave still ended up paying over 100$ just for 2 cups of miso soup 2 mela waters. My bf fish and chips and shrimp appetizer. I'll stick to my favorite spot at the lobster trap!

The sign said they close at 8:30 PM. We arrived at 7:45 PM and placed our order immediately. We ordered the kids’ salmon with the sauce on the side, but it still came with the sauce on it. We ordered sushi rolls, and they came out with no ginger or wasabi—we had to ask for it separately. The Mexican server looked visibly unhappy and even threw a tantrum. By 8:35 PM, the bearded server started stacking chairs loudly, creating an uncomfortable atmosphere. Please check your cameras, owner. I asked for the bill because the vibe was already so negative, and then I found out they automatically charged us a 20% gratuity. Tips should be earned through good service. Honestly, they’re the only place selling sushi on this island, so if you’re not desperately craving sushi, you’re better off going somewhere else. Their sushi is not bad, but the service is horrible.

The waitlist management is a total disaster. We waited for 1 hour to get seated even when there were open tables. Some one arrived later than us but got in first somehow. The service is also the worst I've ever experience. Waited extra long time before we can order any food, and then it's another half hour wait for the food to be served. I do not recommend here. They apparently are lack of hands. Food is not worth the wait & price. Ordered fish and fries for 23 dollars and it turns out only 3 nugget size fish + a giant bowl of fries. Table is sticky and we saw flies flying around. Dead flies next to the window.

Came in after a long day Saturday night, long wait, staff seemed very unorganized, food terrible, never get the lobster bisque (very salty nacho cheese that was served cold). Waited way too long for a few sushi rolls. Am thankful though for the miso soup they gave us instead of the lobster bisque and a 40% off for the wait. Do not recommend.
