Mersea’s is a great spot on the pier for great food and great views. We highly recommend the shrimp tacos and the salads are always big and delicious. You may be serenaded by the sound of barking seals and seems to be popular with people with dogs. Get out and check it out!

I love their salads! They are always delicious and fresh. Everything I have ever eaten here has been really good! Grab a coat if you sit outside because it can get a little windy at times but the view from their pier seating is amazing. You can hear and see the sea lions lounging out in the water on their little deck. They are hysterical creatures to watch. Grousing over little spaces and who’s touching who. Come out for a bit of food and view, you won’t be disappointed!

Great local food place right on the pier. I had the grilled fish sandwich. Local red snapper, flaky, fresh, melt in your mouth goodness on a fresh sourdough bun. Oooo...it was good!! Great views all around, and sea lions. Awesome!!

Really good onion rings and decent fish and chips and fish tacos. Shrimp cocktail was OK at best. Very friendly service and the setting is terrific with a bevy of seals nearby piling over each other calling out “ort ort ort” as they cavort. Reasonable prices and free refills and a friendly bar crew there too.

Great food and views here, and very rewarding after a 4 mile walk from the mineral water resort where we stayed earlier this week. Everything here was soo delicious. Perfect location at the edge of the boardwalk. No frills, easy going, relaxing atmosphere with scenic views. Thank you for the wonderful service, food, and drinks..

This is a nice walk up restaurant and bar. You order at the counter and then find a seat. There is lots of outside seating with heaters, but only 5 tables inside, or 5 chairs at the bar. The food is decent and priced accordingly. Nothing really fancy, but the menu has fish and chips, hamburgers, crab melt, salads, etc.

Small place right out on the pier, great views. We ordered the fish & chips and a beautiful tuna sandwich. Both eure were exceptional!

We had a nice experience overall, but a few things stood out both good and not-so-good. Starting with the oysters on the half shell they were fresh, but unfortunately, there were quite a few bits of shell in them, which made it hard to fully enjoy. On the flip side, the shrimp cocktail was absolutely delicious fresh, flavorful, and perfectly chilled. The crab cakes were just okay. They had a decent texture, but there was a strong presence of red bell pepper that kind of overpowered the crab flavor. Not bad, but not our favorite. Now for the highlights the fishbowl and shrimp cocktail was amazing. Super tasty and just the right balance. The fish and chips were cooked perfectly crispy, golden, and flavorful without being greasy. And the shrimp tacos? Definitely generous and filling you won’t leave hungry! Overall, some hits and a couple of misses, but we’d come back for the seafood favorites and that fishbowl for sure! 🐟🍤🌮

A casual spot for counter service seafood and salads and a separate full bar at the end of the pier. With nice view over the water. We came on a Thursday evening and were able to park at the end of the pier next to the restaurant. We were able to order and get a seat at the bar right away. Clam chowder and house salad were both good. The shrimp cocktail was average.

Outlandishly good food right there on the pier. What is there not to like? The fish and chips were quite good and so was the fried calamari. The clam chowder in a bread bowl, superb. Not a fan of shellfish, but I could manage to keep the fried oysters down! Love the ambience and setting. Will definitely come here again.

Visited here Saturday lunchtime, it was quite busy. Atmosphere and views were amazing however food wasn’t that impressive. We ordered kids meal with chicken strips and fried seafood combination, i didn’t get the fresh taste that i expected since restaurant just by the docks. They’re dog friendly, have few beers on tap but good selection, i also see people enjoying their cocktails i bet they’re good on those.

Very good brownies. The waitress messed up the allergies a couple of times and did not seem to care. During rush hours, don't plan to get seat. It is very cold outside past sunset so I suggest the inside if your going to eat dinner.

Good location. Okay service. Average food. I had their most popular dish, fish and chips. The food was average at best. One piece of fish was overcooked. However, the location was great, table next to the water.
