First, I'd like to to thank Frank and Lori for their kindness and friendliness - they are blessings to mankind! The food, incredible; I had the hillbilly, my wife had the chili cheese dog, son had the EBC, daughter had the breakfast burrito and my youngest daughter had the Philly cheese steak... The portions were so generous, we stayed longer to attempt to finish them while some had to take it to go. Family favorite drink was mine - cinnamon dirty chia The cars theme is super impressive, staying consistent throughout the restaurant. There's a few games scattered around that increased the nostalgic vibes. Highly recommend if you're alone and want to get away to some place relaxing with positive vibrations or if you're with the family and want something entertaining and delicious for the entire family.
Really delicious food. We had the breakfast burrito and the biscuits and gravy… best biscuits ever! Gravy was buttery and delicious. The burrito was fresh! We got a Reuben and a Philly cheese steak sandwich to go and those were great! Service was so kinda and friendly and the atmosphere is calm and clean.
An interesting restaurant decore. Breakfast starts with great coffee, including cappuccino or lattes, srambles, breakfast burritos, & bagel egg sandwiches. Lunch has choices that include Rueban (pastrami, saurcraut, swiss) on Rye, Philly cheese steak sandwiches, among other good stuff. Lori is awesome and the food is very good. They also have an outdoor patio for when the weather is nice. Recommended! Edit: I forgot to mention that the Pit Stop is closed on Thursday & Sunday.
Food was delicious, service is great. Awesome cars theme and family owned business. Highly recommend!
We just left this place, and the food was so delicious!! Everyone is so nice! The best biscuits and gravy! My son loved the cars theme!
Great coffee at a good price, served quickly and with excellent service. Perfect stop for a quality coffee on the road. Highly recommended.
We really like this place. From the service to the atmosphere, and especially, their bagels. They were fresh, soft but crispy and the avocados were fresh and soft. Sooo goood!! Dog-friendly patio! The atmosphere was so calm, and welcoming.
Epic spot. Nicest folks running the joint. Loved the Philly cheese steak
Most lovely family run local shop with fun activities for kids and delicious food and drink
Julian Pit stop is on Highway 79 between julian and Lake Cyamaca . It side the Julian trading post. Took my Mom (Sandy) and Dad ( Leroy) to lunch First off, this is a nice little shop. I highly recommend stopping in and checking it out. They have cars from the move from cars for sale and gift ideas. And food and drinks. The two ladies who were the staff were professional polite and made you feel welcome and went above and beyond. Thank you. 5 stars clean inside and outside. 5 stars for professional staff. 5 stars for gift for sale inside. 5 stars on food. Very good food, and yes, I will be back. It's just a little expresso and light breakfast and lunch. If you're in the area, stop by and check out
The photo does not do the breakfast sandwich justice. It was the most incredible breakfast meal I’ve ever had. I will definitely be coming back!
We got the veg bagel, and red, white,& blue bagel. Super delicious! Amazing hospitality from Laury and her family. Definitely a recommended pit stop before going into town. ;) we will be visiting again
Best Philly cheesecake I have ever had. Such a wonderful place. Great food and great service. Very very kind couple who runs the establishment it was a pleasure!
2 miles out of downtown Julian on CA-79 is a gem of a family owned food stop. Our 10am brunch of savory homemade gravy over country busicuits, as well as our shared ham, egg, and cheese on an onions bagel, was extremely scrumptious, to say the least. Open until 4 pm, please stop by and enjoy the Julian Pit Stop. The owners personal attention assures a wonderful dine in or take out experience. Photos posted by other reviewers are up to date, the store ambience is so pleasing.
Outstanding service and food quality 🤠 You guys are awesome and inside feels so homey and comfortable 🙏 I can say that their breakfast burrito is delicious as well as their Philly steak sandwich 😋

Top notch food! The California scramble was amazing. I will be back.
This place did not dissapoint. Came to see the cars theme, they are still adding more to it but it was a cute little place. The food was hands down delicious the hillbilly really was the way to go, gotta say wasnt sure i was going to finish when i looked at my plate but i ate every bite 😋
Such a fun atmosphere! The owner is so friendly, and the food/beverages are amazing. With the Cars theme outside and the service inside, its the perfect place to stop on your trip into or out of Julian.
Their biscuits and gravy was absolutely delicious and my wife and daughter love the breakfast burrito. Im a local and wanted to try them out and im glad I did because I now crave their food n drinks. Calling in a to-go order is sometimes an issue so hopefully that gets worked out but this is by far my favorite place to eat and they will be seeing me every weekend for breakfast. Don't hesitate to stop here and give em a try because I promise this place will become your new spot to eat and chill.
Me and my husband ate there this afternoon and the food was absolutely delicious. My husband had the Philly and I had the scrambler amazing and lovely couple that own it with great service and great food. We highly recommend. We will stop there again.

Cars lover and food lover paradise! Food is amazing, cheesesteak sandwich is very good. But most of all place is very kids friendly, cute outdoor patio with toys and inside small play table as well. If you have toddles loving cars this place is a must go. We had to purchase MC and Mater for our son but he still plays with them after a month.
Our recent visit to the Pit Stop Café was deeply disappointing, especially considering its reputation as a family-friendly, Cars-themed spot. Unfortunately, the experience was anything but welcoming for families. As we were preparing to leave; literally standing up and packing up our newborn and toddler, a man working there abruptly asked us to leave because “the line was out the door.” We were already on our way out, so the request felt not only unnecessary but incredibly rude. To make matters worse, he approached my spouse afterward to say “not to take it personally,” which only added to the disrespect. If anything, he should have read the room, we were clearly gathering our things and heading out. Despite the child-centric décor, this café is not family friendly. There were no high chairs available, which is surprising for a place themed around a kids’ movie. We were fortunate to have brought our own booster seat. On top of that, they had no public restrooms, and staff simply said it was “out of order.” For families with young kids, that alone is a major inconvenience. The food itself was mediocre at best. My breakfast burrito with bacon was nothing memorable, and my partner’s avocado toast was as basic as it gets. The coffee was watery and bland. Honestly, the only thing worth seeing is the Cars artwork outside everything else falls flat. To be fair, most of the staff were friendly throughout our visit. But being pushed out at the end, while the table next to us who had been sitting just as long was never asked to leave and remained there after we were gone, made the whole situation feel inconsistent and unfair. Overall, I cannot recommend the Pit Stop Café. The exterior theming may draw you in, but the lack of family accommodations, no functioning restrooms, mediocre food, and the rude treatment as we were leaving make it a place I would not return to. The only real reason to stop here is to take a quick photo of the Cars artwork and keep moving.
