I dont normally write reviews but I had to spread the word about how DELICIOUS the food was here. I am Chinese and tend to be veeerrry picky about good chinese/asian food. This place has won me over and I no longer need to travel all the way to flushing for good food. We had the chicken satay, indian pancake with coconut curry sauce, ans hibachi noodles, and toban taki which were AMAZING! Pineapple fried rice, chargrilled chicken teryaki were pretty good too. The appetizers are a little over priced for the small portions but the quality of everything is top notch! I will definitely return!
The sushi was great. The spicy mayonnaise is the best I ever had. Thank u
Great place in town to eat. Food is fresh and staff is friendly. Can get crowded on weekend nights with big parties, so plan ahead and call to see the wait.
Consistently amazing sushi restaurant. I have been coming here since they opened their doors and order from them almost every week, always the best. Hands down the best sushi restaurant in Babylon Village.
Everything is made nice and fresh the people work there are so nice and helpful serving you with a smile and the prices are very reasonable if you like sushi this is the place to go to they have so much to offer
Fancy Lee never disappoints. The sushi rolls, gyoza, fancy Lee app and Hibachi dinners are always a favorite from their menu.
Really good sushi and staff kept the place open after lunch hours to accommodate our walk-in. We will be back for sure! Modern atmosphere in an old school diner.
The rolls are the best in Babylon. Their Spicy Mango salad and the Tuna Amazing roll are my 2 favorite dishes. I would describe it as a "party" happening on your tongue because of the spicy, crunchy + unique flavors. Always a smile and a cheerful "hello!" from the sushi line chefs and the waitresses remember the regular customers.
I live in Manhattan but whenever I pass by South shore, I always pay a visit to Fancy Lee. Fresh ingredients. Great sushi and modern spin on old classics with pretty plating. Definitely worth checking out!
The absolute best sushi anywhere! I’ve been coming here for almost 8 yrs now and every time I do the sushi is fresh and taste amazing. The sushi master Mr Lee is very skilled sushi artist and has a wonderful personality. Each meal, my favorite is Hamachi Don is both beautiful and delicious as are all of the combination rolls. Another big bonus is that they offer my favorite Japanese beer Eichigo. Lastly I have been eating sushi for over 30 yrs and drive from Queens so believe me you can’t go wrong.
Best Asian fusion around. Great service, this place has a local friendly vibe. The owners are welcoming and their attention to the presentation and quality of the food is top notch. If u want a delicious meal and great service this is the place to go!
Love this place great food. It has just a more friendly atmosphere then other sushi places. Some places try to hard to be trendy and come off cold. This place makes u feel more at home.
Always amazing! Fancy Lee is our favorite place for sushi and all of their other authentic dishes. Cocktails are great too!
One of the best Asian fusion resteraunts I have been to. I have traveled a great deal for for business and have eaten at a great many Asian fusion places. This place is well worth the trip if you are on Long Island. The service is great.
This is our go to spot for sushi or take out in Babylon. Food is amazing and the service is always outstanding. The owner lee is extremely friendly and treats you like family. Love this place!!
Been here many times, and have never been disappointed. Not only is the food always excellent, but the friendliness of everyone there is unmatched. You are missing out if you have not yet been to Fancy Lee. Try the coconut soup!
Heard good things about Fancy Lee. I decided it was time to try it out. Service was excellent, and the sushi was delicious. We were even brought a free appetizer which was nice.
Amazing place. Great staff, it's clean, and most importantly DELICIOUS! Came here twice in one week because it is just so amazing. Tip: try the tuna tataki appetizer!
Great sushi. Good customer service. Owner and staff friendly. Nice local spot. They are also open for lunch. Closes for about an hour to setup for dinner.
This is the spot. I gotta hit up fancy lee every time I come home. Sushi is always on point. Lee is a real one. 5 stars.
Exceeded my expectations. One of the greatest sushi experiences I ever had. Staff was great w their recommendations and service. Great place!
Cool atmosphere, really nice setup. Portions are big and the presentation is beautiful. Great takeout service, everything is packed neatly and the order is always correct
Absolutely love this place! We frequent here atleast once a week. The sushi is always fresh and the fancy Lee app is delicious! I will be returning again soon!!!
I only just discovered Fancy Lee's last month and since then have been back multiple times both to eat in and for delivery. The food is excellent, I have tried various items each time I have eaten there and have yet to be disappointed. The prices match the portions and quality, worth the price. Do not be fooled for retro diner look from the outside, the food is worth the stop. If you are in Babylon, try this place.
A great place to try for varied Asian dishes at a reasonable price.
Their food is always fresh & on point. Everyone we take here loves it. The back booth is dark but that's the only negative thing about this place. They greet you when you come in & thank you when you leave. Definitely try it!
Me and my boyfriend went here for a special night, and the food was incredible. Not only was the sushi really tasty, but everything was presented in a beautiful way. Additionally, we were delivered a complimentary side of tempura. I'll definitely come back for more!
Very diverse menu and everything I've ever had had been exceptional! They are friendly, the service is great and atmosphere is upscale without being stuffy or pretentious.. One of my favorite places! The Grand Marinier Prawn appetizer is a MUST!
This restaurant is fabulous! My family and I have been there several times and have always been delighted! Their Thai chicken soup with coconut milk is insanely good! Their sushi is fresh and beautifully arranged. I cannot say enough good things about this place. I'm taking friends there tonight!
Love me some fancy Lee's!! My favorite things off the menu are.. Tom Kah gai soup (absolutely the best!) Gang style duck roll (amazing, always!) Tuna amazing and crazy Friday ( sushi rolls) Fancy lee app (amazing!) And the Indian pancakes are very tasty I'm sure anything you get from this place will be top notch, these are my go to items I love getting ❤️ thank you guys for your great service and food.. everything is always spectacular!
This place is Amazing!!! The food, the Staff, and the atmosphere are excellent! The variety and freshness of its food, both raw and cooked, puts Fancy Lee Sushi in the top ranks of these restaurants. The interior's elegant, clean and cozy. Great job Lee and Winnie!
This place is amazing. I'm really picky about sushi and this is by far my favorite place. It's so fresh and comes out really nicely arranged as well! Everything I've ate here is delicious...and the shrimp fried rice is seriously perfection. One of my favorite places to eat!
Good food, looks like an old diner outside so it kind of fools you driving by, but make sure you stop in and try it, definitely worth it. Went back recently and still awesome, very friendly.
By far our favorite sushi restaurant. The fish is fresh, the staff is terrific. There are many other Asian dishes, all delicious, if you don't want sushi. They love children and the staff goes out of their way to help them enjoy eating at Fancy Lee
The staff was very sweet and friendly. Food portions were great&it tasted phenomenal. I did a steak hibachi dinner with fried Japanese eggplant&calamari as appetizers with my girlfriend and her family. We all enjoyed ourselves but with a bigger then 5 party seating is a tad tight. Other than that a wonderful experience, would definitely eat there again.
I’ve always past this place and wanted to stop in, can’t believe it took me so long . So happy I finally did. The staff is super friendly. I was greeted with sample of a hot appetizer roll, was delicious. Superb edamame starter. And the special house roll I ordered I’d absolutely delicious. I am writing review as I enjoy this meal because I am so pleased I decided to stop in. Will definitely be back
Best Asian gold around the area! Took me forever to find a new place since tangs closed
I remember living in the Lindenhurst area and having to make the tough decision between Fancy Lee and Kotobuki. Fancy Lee is Excellent and most times it came down to the seating in Fancy Lee is better especially if you have 4-6 people. If they could duplicate Buki Spicy Tuna Avacado salad, game over.
Perfect night out. Great food, fantastic atmosphere, friendly service and easy parking. Had the veg gyozas, Malaysian red curry, avocado and cucumber sushi roll, shrimp sushi, pad Thai… and a yummy ice cream profiterole.
This Family operated Asian Bistro is a great place to enjoy something new and different. They fuse different Asian styles to create an exciting explosion of flavors and textures. .The food, service, and atmosphere will impress you. . . Enhance your pallet with their food.
Excellent excellent quality sushi melts in your mouth! Excellent service, great vibe and atmosphere. Highly recommend! Better than other sushi bay shore.
Enjoyed dinner. From out of town and walked from Argyle Park, this was the first restaurant we came up to. It was unassuming from the outside, the inside was quite nice. Food was yummy, service was good.
One of my grandsons recommended that we have dinner at Fancy Lee. I had my doubts, thinking it was just another diner with standard food and nothing more. I went with my grandson, my daughter (his mom), and my son. I was wrong: the salmon was excellent, the drink selection was extensive, and the service was attentive. I've returned several times to try the Chilean sea bass and other delicacies. My kids love the sushi. In short: an excellent restaurant in every way.
My wife and I recently met up with some friends for dinner at Fancy Lee. As always, the food was fresh and delicious. The service was attentive, helpful, and friendly. An absolute must try signature roll is the Golden Monkey Roll. Everything they offer is creative and flavorful, and I would absolutely recommend Fancy Lee Asian Bistro 'n' Sushi!
Our favorite sushi spot! Lee and his team are wonderful! The sushi is always fresh and delicious. The Asian fusion dishes are wonderful as well. You can actually taste the food as opposed to it being doused in sauce. Give the foxy lady roll, roll combo b, seaweed salad, general tso , or steak hibachi dishes a try, you’ll be glad you did!
This restaurant is very good. The ambience was very cool. It is located in an old diner. We were given a complimentary appetizer which looked like a fried shrimp roll. I ordered the Hibachi steak served w. Fried Rice, Lomein, and soup. The portion was huge. The food was delicious. I would definitely recommend coming here for good
I went to lunch for the first time alone, I felt comfortable, the service was excellent, I needed a moment for myself and I think I chose a good place to do it, the atmosphere was nice and everyone was very attentive to me, I love Japanese food and this place is incredible.
Great spot for sushi always on point , great fast service, friendly...would have gave 5 stars but prices went up .I get it everything went up
Food: 4 stars. Service: 4 stars. Price: 3 stars. Selection: 5 stars. Excellent selection and very good food across all items. Some prices are a little high, but quality and portion sizes are very good. Come here especially when you can't think of what you want to eat it or a few people want different genres of food.
It's very nice, waitress was very pretty and wearing Asian stuff. Polite, did a great job and the food was very good. Everything is just getting so expensive these days it's scary.
Great little spot with ample parking. Very clean and super friendly staff. Large menu with lots of options if you're not into sushi. I would definitely recommend if you are in the mood for anything Asian.
This place looks like it was originally a diner and converted to a sushi restaurant. It was very clean, the service was excellent. I got the sushi for two and was and loved it. I would highly recommend Fancy Lee.
Food is pretty good, as for the help....not so. They look miserable, our waitress had a very hard time understanding anything we said. To get the attention of anyone is to annoy them. Like the food dislike the help.
Loved the sushi! Was nice to get a free app but both of us are cagey about fake crab. My tuna was delish. Wish I lived closer! Everyone seemed to know everyone who came in!
Always a hit!. Food is always delicious. The staff range from friendly to somewhat indifferent. But this time our waiter was great. The tables are really dark. I wish it were a little brighter. And super important in all my reviews- it's very clean!!!
The service was very attentive and the food was very good for the price. I would say it's tied for first for my favorite Japanese restaurant with Kabuki. I had the Golden monkey roll It was delicious and so fresh. They even brought us a free appetizer. Will be going back. 89/100
Great hot and sour soup. Awesome salmon skin hand rolls. Servers and management very accommodating. Very reasonable pricing. We travel far to come here.
I dont know, but the time we came it was about to close so we had to rush our orders. Even though there was other customers that came in after us. Our sea bass was burn around the edges. We had to eat our appetizers with our entrees. We would like to enjoy the flavors but was not able to. Normally, we would felt comfortable eating, but that day it was not going to happen. Next time, it would be better.
First time here. Recommended by others. We had Sushi sashimi for two... Enough food for three... We were allowed to substitute selected items for our platter. Fish was high quality. During Covid, we were called on phone for our table one we made reservation that evening. Service was quick, but not rushed. Other diners seemed to be enjoying their experience as well. We will return here.
All nearly perfect!!! Only thing I was a little bit critical of is the rice...too mushy the night we had it. Otherwise, food and service were great...especially happy about the on-the-house appetizer they bring out right away. We ordered drinks and a roll and the Salmon Teriyaki and Pineapple Rice to share and the bill was about $90. I would definitely go back!!
It was our first time going there and the food was decent. We sat down and it took almost 10 minutes to get our drink and food order. There were only five people in the whole restaurant at the time, so it was a little disappointing for a first impression. There were two waiters and one seemed to be doing the whole restaurant by himself while the other was on his phone/ hiding out by the bar most of the time. He was supposed to be our waiter but eventually the other young man took over and served us. As far as the food, everything can out hot and fresh. The brown rice was amazing! We’ll go back during busier hours just to see if the service will be better. All in all it’s a cute spot that would be great for date night or group gatherings.
Came here to eat on a late Tuesday afternoon. Was given a free fake crab appetizer, which was okay. Ordered two hand rolls, which were good.
I was really impressed at first by the novelty of an Asian restaurant in an American diner setting. The lo mein was good, but the rest of the food left something to be desired. Don’t order dessert.
It was a very clean and fast service but for what I ordered it was overpriced I could have made it at home. For that price with takeout you figure i can get at least 2 napkins. I am giving 3 stars it was well made and had a nice taste.
Food is 5 stars!! Service not good. They closed kitchen for employee lunch and didn't let us know. Brought out food all at once. Took away my plate that I was still eating did ask if I was finished with it. I'm not a picky person but service felt like a machine and not a restaurant.
My family and I (2 kids, husband, myself & cousin) came here on a Tuesday around 5:30 pm. They were dead. The woman at the front couldn’t be bothered and our server acted as if we were bothering him until we started racking up our order .. then he was all smiles. We order several hot apps - gyoza, shumai, beef negemaki, spring rolls, and then a cold app - edamame. Everything came out super quick, which leads me to believe it wasn’t fresh. That’s how it tasted as well .. sub par. I buy edamame in a steam bag and it tastes better than what they gave us! My lychee martini .. umm, it tasted like lychee juice. No booze, and it was $12. Our bill was $171 and not worth it. I doubt we’ll be back. Masa is our first choice, but unfortunately, they’re closed on Tuesdays. Freshen up your food and attitudes, Fancy Lee!
Ordered chicken and broccoli and got half a pint white rice. Chicken and broccoli feed 3 to 4 people. half a pint rice is barely enough for one person all other Chinese restaurants. Give at least a pint of white rice.
Service was poor, our waitress basically ignored us, towards the end she ask my wife if she wanted another drink but didn't ask me... wtf.?? The wonton soup was different how water w scallions, the dumplings were awesome light, delicate & tasty the chicken hibachi as good, general tso not so much Def not my fav.. Go to Peninsula in bay shore nite & day better!!
Decided to try this place for the first time based on it being the highest rated Thai place within a 15-20min drive from my home. All I can say is PASS! For the price definitely not worth what you get. The Thai Pineapple fried rice is literally just white rice with a red sauce and raw cut up Pineapple. Could have at least added a slight char/ heat up the Pineapple a bit before adding to rice. It's like cutting a Pineapple and tossing in rice...totally not Thai!! The general tso chicken lacked sauce and flavor. The rolls were small. Overall not impressed at all with this place and probably NOT coming back. $80 down the drain because most likely gonna throw out the rest...not even worth saving. Plus since it's located in the center of town the parking is limited and gets pretty congested trying to get there. My search for a good Chinese/ Thai place continues...
Fast and friendly service. Unfortunately, there was an issue with the food. Out of the two rolls of sushi we ordered, my wife's tasted fine and mine tasted a little funny. I should've been wise enough to not eat it. You guessed it. To try to put it politely; Gastrointestinal distres and sick all night... Cannot recommended.
Bathrooms need to be cleaned. I love the food but the smell of URINE in the dinning area is OVERWHELMING . PLEASE get a cleaner to get rid of the smell. ITS A BIG TURN OFF. The dollar tree store has plenty of cleaning product that will help the smell.
I came there last evening (8/17) 7:45 for a dinner with a friend. Although the food was ok the service was completely terrible from getting mad when I ordered the rice, and got mad when I ordered the goyza pork appetizer tried to get them ordered with the drinks and he didn’t take the the order so it got brought out the the entrées which is why i said appetizer. Was extremely dissatisfied with the service ($80 , and was told the tip should’ve been more only time waiter spoke verryyyy rude ! . I will not be going back and telling others of the poor experience for $100-Robert mllmm
Everyone was friendly when walking in , which I liked .but when we sat down it felt like we weren't welcome. A very strange flip of events. This place had very high expectations considering I was told it was excellent. Very disappointed.not much to tell.food wasn't even average.
Um ok. I have been coming here for years but i have noticed their costumer service seriously declining to the point that i most likely wont come back, plus i just saw that a couple of ppl got sick from the sushi here. Today the guy literally threw our utensils on the dirty table twice (no napkins) and another waiter brought me an extra plate with his fingers literally spread halfway across the front of my plate, where im supposed to eat from .. disgusting. Makes me wonder how my food is being prepared. No longer coming here. There are so many places , that i seriously dont have to put up with people being rude as if theyre doing me a favor and im not paying . I was so tempted to not leave a tip bc he definitely earned that P.s. I also had the waitress who spoke poor english (or had horrible hearing) in the recent past that an another reviewer mentioned. She literally gave us an attitude for her own incompetence. Totally Mind blowing. I dont mind the language barrier, what i mind is the arrogance and total lack of professionalism .
Man I walked out... Didn't care for the atmosphere at all. Quite disappointing!!!
I haven't been here in years, but I met up with a friend & thought this would be perfect spot. Needless to say I will never step foot in there again. I had gotten soup & tempura. There was actually a hair in my mouth after eating the 2nd shrimp tempura. I was mortified. Never again. Sorry.
ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. Service was rude and horrible. Served the wrong drink. Sake was cold. Soup was cold. My Kani salad was so blan and tasteless. 4 small pieces of octopus for $16. My girlfriend is gluten free and her chicken and broccoli looked horrible and dry. I returned half my meal and my girlfriend barely ate and she's not picky like me. Everything about this place is a joke. Let alone the price. Never again. I get much better for much less and greater service. NEVER AGAIN. DO NOT RECOMMEND. STAY AWAY.
The service and food was horrible. After complaining about the food, a tall lady came over and yelled at us for two minutes straight. She was really nasty. I paid the bill and did not leave a tip. She chased us out side and told us we had to leave a tip, even though we explain further is horrible, and she shouldn’t be yelling at us and a 12-year-old never go back there again I’m a black person and I was treated horribly.
Went to “Fancy Lee” today. Got there at 2:15PM. Didn’t know they close from 3-4:30. Rushed to order because the cook was leaving at 3PM. Food comes and it sucked. Watery and tasteless. Waiter comes as we’re eating and says we have to pay now because the cashier is leaving. They couldn’t wait for us to finish. FU Fancy Lee. Never see me against. So much for trying a new place. Mushroom blows them away!!
Horrible place. We will never be back. The walls are literally splattered with food. The bathroom was disgusting. The floors were literally sticky with food. Our shoes stuck. Stay away! More expensive than all the other sushi places in town and terrible.
Their food is fine, but their customer service is always terrible. They're always so incredibly rude, especially if you're doing take out or delivery. There is so much fantastic sushi and hibachi in Babylon, just go somewhere else. It's also pretty expensive compared to other places in the area.
Food was tasteless and cold. After talking to the owner they refused to give a refund because that's "just how it's supposed to taste." But fried rice isn't supposed to be cold or flavorless.
We ate there on Tuesday for lunch . The space is cute enough, but our waitress was very short, and most importantly, about 20 mins after eating there, my husband became violently ill. For two days he had terrible food poisoning, and I'm pretty sure the culprit was the shrimp roll, which makes me wonder how they store their food. My katsu and my friend's orange chicken meals were really good, but not worth risking one's health. I hope the manager sees this and inspects the food closely, because food poisoning could kill somebody.
Breathe: So where do i begin? The male waiter was very cold and was very innatentitive. He did not give us any salad bowls or soy sauce bowls. The sushi was like mush and it had a horrible tašte . We asked to take back one of the rolls and the waiter started selling at us how his sushi is fresh. We asked to speak to the manager and she told us she is offended that we took back the roll . Finally the manager said she will not charge us for the horrible and i mean terrible roll. When we received the bill sure enough the roll we took back was not deducted. These people think the Americans are dumb and won’t recognize the bill . We’ll they were wrong . As a result by not deduction the one sushi roll the waiter did not recieve a tip. We spent nearly $200 and the manager thought she was slick and that we wouldn’t notice . We will NEVER return to this restaurant. The worst service and the food was disgusting
