Lovely and homey.Food was so good and plentiful with leftovers to take home.We shared a pasta dish of shrimp which mushrooms and sundried tomatoes in a creamy cheese basil sauce.The crusty bread is homemade served with butter.Olive oil is on the table for those who like to dip their bread in it. We were to full to even think about dessert.

Just a great all around old school family style Italian restaurant.

A fantastic venue for a group event (we had our 50th High School Reunion) or even a date night or family dinner.

First time for dinner and it was great quality food! Everything was served hot and fresh without a long wait. Beautiful presentation of the food and the team of servers took great care of our party. Definitely cant wait to go back!

First time coming to Augie's and I definitely can't wait to come back! Honestly, this was an amazing experience! The staff was so friendly, and knowledgeable! I loved how they offered some suggestions to us and they even told us some of their personal favorites on the menu. The food was amazing! And I'm usually very critical of Italian food because I make it myself a lot. The icing on the cake was when the entire, and I mean entire, restaurant sang my husband and I happy birthday! It's a little noisy in the restaurant but honestly so worth it because everybody there makes you feel like family!

I am not a food snob. I would rather be home than out at a restaurant most of the time. I enjoy tuna sandwiches. I am as basic as they come. 😂🤣 That said— I KNOW good food. I just rarely prioritize it. I would rather eat and be done and move on with other things. Augie’s is an exception to my rule. This restaurant is probably my favorite I have ever been to. And I’ve been dragged to quite a few. For a Taurus like me (🤪😂) who actually prefers leftovers and eating at home— this place is perfection. I am the person who gets 90% or more of their food wrapped to-go at a regular meal because I’m too busy socializing and having drinks. I love the casual atmosphere. The staff are always so so friendly and wonderful. The family style of food is completely aligned with me too because I enjoy trying a little of everything, and deciding what to eat— I just often really don’t care. I’m not that picky and I’ll probably love whatever you put in front of me. The style and vibe of this place is just the best for people like me who are so chill and enjoy leftovers and a friendly atmosphere. I also don’t want to give the impression that the quality or culinary skill is lacking at all— quite the opposite. There is an integrity and quality to every dish, with a feeling of being fresh and home-made and as I said prior, the staff add so much beautiful energy to the dynamic. It is VERY good food. If you aren’t afraid of big portions and leftovers like me, and you prefer a more laid-back family atmosphere but with attention to detail and pride cooked into the food, I can’t recommend it enough. I would be happy eating solely at Augie’s for all of my restaurant jaunts.

Augie's was an amazing first time resturant visit for our group of 4. Italian food served family style which to us was very high quality food, served in large sharable style with gracious service in a beautiful interior setting and a covered outdoor setting. I never seen such large platers overflowing with entrees, sides and all kinds of well prepared pasta. It's all designed to take home what is not eaten and expect what you bring home will provide you with2 future meals at home! Once again, although it is quantity it's all quality! We will be returning here again!

Augie's was absolutely amazing! It was the first time I had ever been, and I would recommend it to everyone! I grew up in B.Spa and remember that location as being an IGA market way back when. I hadn't been back in probably 40 years. Honestly, everything at Augie's was perfect...the atmosphere, service, and the food were phenomenal! Five stars across the board! Fortunately, we arrived early because shortly thereafter, the dining area near the bar filled up quickly. From my understanding, they take reservations, and I will be making one next time we go.

Come here quite a bit. Food is slways good, and you get a lot of food for the $. It's family style, so one dinner feeds 2 or 3 people. It can be loud at times as it's busy and family friendly/style so keep that in mind (not really a "date night " place if your looking for a romantic and quite atmosphere.) Service has always been excellent. We often go with a large party and everyone has enjoyed it.

Service was awesome, the bread was fresh, local olive oil was delicious. I highly recommend the T-bone steak, it was done perfectly and just melted in your mouth. Unbelievable!! Family sized portions were amazing!! With 10 people we still were taking food home. I can't wait to take the wife here for date night!!!

I've been wanting to visit Augie's for several years but never had the chance. Last night we went for the very first time. This is my new favorite restaurant. I'm sorry that I missed all those years of great food and service. The amount of food that you get is unbelievable. It's definitely worth every penny. It's very reasonably priced for what you get and for what you end up taking home in an Augie-bag. The atmosphere is pleasant and the service is unbeatable. I really would have liked to see homemade pasta instead of boxed, soft Italian bread instead of the ciabatta or sourdough bread (I'm not sure what it was) and the butter at a spreadable consistency instead of cold. Those few things set aside, I still give it five stars. Our waitress, Elizabeth, was fantastic. She was friendly and right on top of our needs. I highly recommend this restaurant to Italian food lovers everywhere.

I am from out of town and was hosting a party of 40. I ordered a menu for them to bring over to our rented house and from beginning to end it was smooth sailing: delivered on time with good instructions for all the hot trays; delicious bread and mozzarella/ RRpepper/ tomato/pesto salad delicious; the right amount of food and it worked out very well. I would do it again if we lived nearby. Thank you

First time eating here a couple months ago and ive been back 2x already. You get SO much food and ITS AMAZING!!!! The staff are attentive, the atmosphere is relaxing, plenty of food for your $$$$. We had family gathering of 11. Our table was ready when we arrived promptly at 6 pm. We ordered 5 entrees and a house salad and Caesar salad (family style) and there were tons of food. Everything was delicious. We were given lots of boxes for taking home leftovers.

This place is always spot on. The staff is pleasant and efficient. The bread is great, the entrees are HUGE, taste great, and are visually delicious. You will have left overs for a couple days.

I took my friend here for her first time. We were seated by a hostess who seemed agitated when I asked for a table against the wall instead of the center of the dining room. We ordered from the "Specials" menu. That caused a bit of confusion because I was unaware that the Monday special on the regular menu didn't apply if ordering from the "Specials" menu. What I thought was going to be a $40ish dollar bill turned into $102. We each had a Mojito. We shared the stuffed squash flowers for an appetizer. For our main course, we ordered the Seafood Pasta, linguini w fresh haddock, shrimp, and scallops in a delicious white cream sauce. We ordered a Strawberry desert, which I can't recall the exact name of, but it was fresh strawberries, swimming in a marscapone cheese and red wine sauce. Our waiter was very good, but we saw much less of him as the restaurant filled up. Overall, excellent as always! Thank you Augie's

I've eaten there years ago at the old location. Stopped in early on the way to the casino with my wife. We ordered the chicken parm with pasta. The waitress was friendly. Of course, this place is definitely known for its take home bag for extra large portions. Augie's Italian certainly has excellent food at a fairly reasonable cost.

We stop here often after a day at the races in Saratoga. Portion sizes are huge! All the food we’ve tried has also been great. Family friendly environment.

Auggies has managed to maintain a top knotch staff while their competitors struggle to do the same. Every face greets you with a smile. Every member of the staff is engaged and actively serving the customers. Not one staring at their phone. The food as always is amazing and as always my wife and I got 3 meals out of 2 appetizers. First time here. Great service and alot of delicious food. Broccoli raab was perfect and Osso Bucco literally was fork tender. Rounded off with Zabaglione and strawberries. We will definitely be regulars!

It was my first time at Augies, and I didn't know what to try, so I got the Augies kitchen sink. The augies kitchen sink was chicken, sausage, and shrimp in penne pasta with a creamy red sauce. Let me tell you, it was delicious, and the portion was huge. I can eat a lot but I could only eat half of it and still have two meals. I decided to save room for dessert and had the Augies famous tiramisu, and it was rich and decadent. I highly recommend Augies for people traveling or that live in the area. They also have specials every day except Saturday, so check those out as well cause the kitchen sink is on special on Thursdays.

Takeout is always still hot when we get home and the food is always amazing.

Craving a good, hot meal? Go to Augie’s! We ordered the Monday Special which includes: Chicken Parmigiana (six large pieces), baked Ziti, shareable sized Garden salad and fresh baked bread. We ordered additional mozzarella sticks. Everything was delicious. My favorite meal here is the Everything but the Kitchen sink pasta dish. Best dish hands down!

I believe this place opens at 4 o’clock so I actually waited came back and I’m glad I did I’m not big on happy hour but I ordered a few things on the menu by the time I got my tab I feel like I rob the place what an amazing deal. I got meatballs and then I got some clams. They definitely don’t re-purposed sauces for different dishes because they both had high and lows of amazing awesomeness. Definitely think this would be a great place for a wedding dinner, But I think what really shines about this place is the front patio I definitely need to hit it with good company. The cowboy steak was good, the seafood melody was good (can't remember the fancy name) THE HALIBUT!! OMG 😱 it was absolute perfection!! Having lived in Alaska and becoming a fish snob, I would put this dish up against any in Alaska! And honestly, no one would know the difference in taste. Yes it was that good!

Ordered THE KITCHEN SINK — penne with shrimp, sausage, prosciutto, chicken, and tomato cream sauce — and it absolutely delivered. Huge portions, incredible flavor, and classic Italian comfort done right. Augie’s is always a win.

We (my kids and I), had previously tried Augie's To Go and enjoyed it, so we decided to try the dine in Restaurant in Ballston Spa. The atmosphere oozes Family Friendly and the aromas promise authentic Italian cuisine. Augie's did not disappoint. The portions are plentiful and leftovers are a sure thing. We ordered Chicken Alfredo with Broccoli, Tortellini with peas and prosciutto in a cream sauce, and Chicken Marsella. Everything was delicious. Chicken Alfredo with broccoli was everyone's favorite with Tortellini as a close second. My kids liked the Chicken in the Chicken Marsella, but not all the stuff that came with it (mushrooms, onions, sun-dried tomatoes). We left full with at least two or three days worth of leftovers. We'll definitely be going back, soon.

We had a great family dinner, celebrating a birthday! We ordered twice as much food as we needed. Family style was wonderful and gave us the chance to taste more than one dish. One dish was wrong and the remake didn't come out until after our plates and utensils were collected. They brought it out as we were leaving and were gracious enough to remove it from the bill.

It is very rare that for a reasonable price you will receive a large portion of good food. Augie’s serves what they describe as family portions. For ~$36 we got maybe 5-6 pieces of veal and a huge bowl of ziti. More than my party of 2 could finish. The rest was packaged for take home. They’re polite and the espresso after the meal was good too. Def recommend this location. Del — our server— was amazing.

I couldn't wait to try Augie's, as I had heard about it for some time. I heard that everything was homemade and cooked to perfection. I heard everything was unique, not just your average Italian food. When we arrived and looked at the menu, we knew the reputation was right! We made a reservation online through RESY and our table was ready and waiting for us when we arrived. The atmosphere was old-style Italian, but in a newer setting. Autographed pictures on the walls, neat Italian decor, and not too loud, even though it was busy. Everything on the menu sounded fantastic, with new twists on old-style dishes. The staff were fantastic, taking the time to explain some of the entrees, answer our questions, and help us to decide what we wanted to order. But the most important piece of information that our waiter told us was that everything is served family-style and that the portions are huge. My girlfriend and I had decided to each order an entrée and then share. The waiter explained that that was fine, but that we would be going home with a lot of food. And we sure did! To start, we ordered the "Kitchen Sink Salad," which included kale, butternut squash, grape tomatoes, olives, craisins, cucumber, and a delicious raspberry vinaigrette dressing. For dinner, we ordered the "Kitchen Sink," which included shrimp, chicken, and sausage in a marinara cream sauce over penne pasta, and "Chicken Caccitore" off the specials menu. The chicken fell right off the bone and was so tender. The flavors were incredible. We were hungry and ate a lot, but went home with half of each meal. When our waiter asked if we saved room for dessert, he also told us that we could order dessert to go. Apparently that is what a majority of customers do, and that was a great idea. The cannoli is what sounded best to us. To be honest, it did take a while for our dinner to be served, but that is probably because everything is made to order and the portions are so big. In the end, with such large portions, the check wasn't too high at all, and was probably pretty low for what we got. We will definitely return sometime soon, and while we would like to try different dishes, we will probably order the same thing! We think you should check it out for yourselves. We are glad we did!

The food is served family style. With prices that rival single portion dishes from other capital region restaurants. Served hot and fresh. Flavors are abundant and portions, easily four people on one dish. The wine list diverse, drinks look fun and healthy tap beer selection. Easy parking. Spacious dining rooms. An absolutely reliable goto that will not disappoint.

My wife and I showed up without a reservation not knowing its best to call ahead. They still got us in within 15 mins. When they tell you its Italian family style portions they mean it! But thats what's even better about the place. You have leftovers to enjoy a 2nd time. We ordered the gnocchi with mushroom and sausage in vodka sauce ( you can request a sauce you like over what it comes with). Their pasta is homemade and did not make us feel bloated like most other pasta does. We are moving up towards the area and will come back for dinner especially for the hospitality and delicious food.

I have been to Augie's many times. The food is always great and it is abundant. The service is always top notch. Be prepared to take left-overs home; they are even better the next day. Try the Kitchen Sink. As it name implies, you get a bit of everything in this dish. Don't skip the salad as it is one of the best you will find. I would say order your own dessert; they are to good to share.

Food was exceptional. We ordered their steak special and kitchen sink (classic). The steak was tender and juicy and loaded with flavor. The garlic mashed potatoes were creamy and delectable. Even the broccoli had an added coat of parmesan and garlic to it which fit so perfectly with the flavors of the potatoes and meat. The kitchen sink which is our favorite once again didn’t disappoint. I am allergic to shrimp and they are always so accommodating by putting the shrimp in a separate side dish so others at my party too can enjoy. The service was great and we truly enjoy the atmosphere. I got an Irish coffee with Jameson as my dessert and it did not disappoint. We had left overs for days. This is such a staple in the community.

The daily special of chicken pappardelle was delicious as was the pasta puttanesca. However the veal and chicken special was tough and overcooked. The table service was average and not helpful as this was our first time dining at Auggies

The restaurant was clean and the atmosphere was really welcoming. The waitstaff was polite and fast and seemed like they enjoy working there. The food was pretty good, but not the best. That could just be my own personal taste, though. The portions are perfect for the price and you’ll definitely bring some leftovers home (which taste even better when reheated!). If you order coffee with desert, it’s a very small amount, but the portions for desert are just as impressive as the portions for dinner foods. I definitely think this is a great spot for dinner. Totally worth the slightly higher price than eating at a non-family-style restaurant. For two of us for dinner, desert, coffee and sodas it was about $60.

This place is the best Italian around! The kitchen sink, and Penne el vodka are so good. The only bad things are that they don't seem to have enough waiters/waitresses, and the food takes forever. Other than that this place is awesome.

Had a reservation here for a table of 4. Took us about 20 minutes to be seated even though we came early for our time slot. Once seated services was kind and attentive. Known for their family style, the portions did not disappoint. However, the quality of the food was not as impressive as I thought it would be. Chicken parm with spaghetti had good flavor for the chicken but it was tough to chew. The noodles were saturated in a red sauce that was extremely watery. Mama’s ziti was the best dish we had. Fantastic flavor on the meatballs. Is the reason why this rating is a 4/5 and not a 3/5. Tomato, mozz, red pepper with pesto was fresh but lacked pesto. Would be better with more pesto on the dish. Had to add balsamic vinaigrette or else it would have been very plain. Calamari was fried nicely but the red sauce paired with it was again, very watery. Overall not a bad place, maybe we came on an off day. I will try this place again in the future to get a better idea of how the quality is.

The food is a bit lacking honestly. I appreciate the family size portions but all our dishes were good to OK. Nothing really popped. Otherwise it was a perfectly good meal. I just think they could pump up food a bit

We dined here a week ago and I was very disappointed in the food and service. We ordered the chicken and veal sorrentino. The veal was rubbery and the eggplant almost non existent. On top of that, the pasta was mushy. The chicken, however was tender. Our server never returned to ask about our meal until we were ready to leave. There was a private party taking place and it appeared all of the staff were serving that group while neglecting their other customers. We have visited Augie’s for years and this was by far the worst experience we ever had. We dine out frequently but I am not sure we will return since there are so many other options in this area.

Went to Augies in Ballston Spa on Sunday, very disappointed with their Mama's Gravy, tasted like sauce form a can of Campbell's Spaghetti. The meatballs were hard and rubbery, with little flavor; had to use a knife to cut through them. I couldn't even finish half a meatball. The sliced sausage was bland. There was so much leftover (spaghetti, meatballs, and sausage) as they serve family style and I did not take it home. In saying that, the appetizers were very good, clams & mussels in a red diablo sauce; we had to put clams/mussels with sauce on a small plate and that was difficult; should have had a small bowl. The stuffed clams were ok, lots if fine breading. The tortellini with peas, prosciutto, and alfredo sauce was delicious. That came home with us. We also ordered a mixed green salad and it was more than enough to serve three of us. The server was nice and explained the menu to us in detail. The bread was delicious, served warm with crispy outside. They had tabs of butter with bread and olive oil (think Saratoga) on table. Server was also attentive and our wine was refilled along with ice water. Someone else came to the table at the end and asked if we wanted a box for the pasta/gravy and I said no as it did not hit my spot. I left it at that.

Waited about half hour for appetizers. Weren't asked to refill our drinks. Were seated at at table of 8 for a table of 4 so quite awkward. Food was fine, service is what really killed it. It very unfortunate as I have always had a good meal here and on several occasions my family has had, or I have been to parties and dinners here. Less and less impressed each time I go. May as well use Augies To-Go in Saratoga. I feel like the atmosphere is much better in my home that what it was last night.

Long story short. Food was amazing but very disappointed that they oversold us on how much food we needed for a shower of 50 to 60 people. My wife took the suggestion of ordering 7 trays of food. Which she thought was overkill but they kept saying she would run out otherwise. When the shower was over only 1 tray was completely empty while 3 where between 3/4 to 1/2 empty and we still had 3 full trays of food. No way should they have sold us 7 trays of food for a party that size. I was not happy. I felt we were taken advantage of as we had no idea and took their suggestions on how much to order. Again the food was amazing! I'm just not happy with the oversell and wasting over $300.

Ok I love me some Augies but what was going on tonight. The place was dead. We got the mamas Sunday specials. I asked for spaghetti we got penne. We ordered dessert chocolate chocolate mouse cake we got some chocolate pie with ice cream. Like seriously get it together. The pie is supposed to serve 4, it barely served 1 person. They also kept coming to the table are you done with this, can we take this. NO we are the only 2 ppl here right now why the rush? Not to happy with Augies!

We were a party of 7 adults, with reservations, for my father in law's 75th birthday on Monday 2/3 at 6pm. We traveled 40 minutes to this location as the birthday boy ask specifically for this place. Long story short, the dark haired server with the thick gold chain acted as if we were an inconvenience as he spouted off 9 different specials for the evening and his personality was far from cordial. We had 4 different servers at any given time because at one point the original man was eating dinner in the front of the restaurant for an hour while we ran completely out of drinks multiple times and had to flag someone down for refills. We ordered 4 appetizers, 4 meals and multiple adult beverages as well as desserts. It is not like anyone there was cheap or even planning to be. We order big, we tip well- when service is good. It was not. Some other person came over and ask if we wanted boxes or them to clear our table so we could go, before we ever even got our food. This continued the entire meal. Despite saying it to 3 servers, no one ever wished my father in law a "happy birthday" at all. We finished and were leaving at 8:27 when my husband went back in to use the restroom only to find it completely disgusting, the lights off and the staff all yelling at each other. In summation, the food is mediocre, the staff is very subpar and it was just not a good choice for a celebration. My advice, stay home and order a pizza before you choose this location.

So this was my first time with the group I attended with. They had been there previously and talked it up. I love italian food, so just another expected quality experience. 1) Service was great. Attentive, clear and expressed what they had to offer, how it's served and what specials were available. 2) The Restaurant is clean, well maintained and an easy in the eyes environment. Tables well spaced and plenty of elbow room between chairs/tables. 3) Now for the food. Ny strip steak was the special with shrimp, potatoes and fried onions. The other side of my table was chicken parm with Ziti. House salad and house lemonade. The salad was great, well dressed and proportionate for the blend( tomatoes,onions,foliage and Redwine Dressing) The steak was ordered medium well but was far to tough and there was more fat than expected. Seasoned ok, but hard to chew. Shrimp was actually perfect and the mashed potatoes were ok but nothing jumping for. The chicken parm was slightly similar. Thin breast with fresh(quality) mozzarella cheese but had a twang inn the sauce ( only water on pallet before trying the food, no alcohol ) and the ziti sadly was cold. Hearing that the owner/Augie was in the house for the occasion prepping the specials we were kind of shocked by the quality of the food as this place seems to be a staple in the community. They have a quality Olive oil at the table with bread which was pleasant for most before the meal. I would love to try another dish here in the near future but tonight was not the best impression for a first time customer. Party of 13 with a price around 400.

I am not from the area but traveled often to Balston Spa and have been going to Augies since it was in the original building. I would sit there by myself and devour their food and lick the plate. I was there yesterday and was thoroughly disappointed with the quality and flavor of the sauce as well as the meatballs which were flavorless. Hopefully they just had a bad day and I would probably give the another shot, but wow what a let down.

This place is pretentious without nothing to show for it. The carpets are dusty. And the food? We ordered pasta for share. It's wasn't food, it was feed: nasty chow overloaded with cheese. I couldn't eat more than a few spoons. My spouse commented "you always hold tight to the leftovers... except this time". Yep. Nasty feed. Not recommended.

What once was good food is now fast food. Sauce from a can and pre-made frozen chicken cutlets microwaved with reheated over cooked pasta and they call it chicken Parmigian. Also anything with the cream sauce separates like cottage cheese. Yuck I can't believe they serve this garbage!

I ordered Augies catering for my wedding, and to say I am disappointed is an understatement. We paid to rent the sterno’s, delivery and setup. The young man that was paid to do this task dropped the food off and left. He truly acted as an Uber Eats driver, vs working for a catering company. This young man did not set the sternos up, light them or place water in the pans. Due to this my husband and I (groom and bride) had to take on this task. Sadly due to the timing of the food arrival and our day of timeline, my husband and I were not made aware of any of this and the food was cold due to sitting out for to long without a heat source. If we were made aware of this at arrival time, or before our wedding day we would have ensured that someone was in charge of ensuring the food was properly setup, and we would have not tipped the delivery driver for poor service.

How disappointing! We've been here about 2 years ago and the food was great. Came back today and the food was horrible. The salad had no flavor, then we ordered the meatballs. The tomato sauce wasn't great, the meatballs were hard and chewy, just an overall bad experience.

The food wasn't that great. It extremely oily and everything eas way to greasy. The only redeeming quality of it was the quality of food that they would give you i wouldn't come here again. The sauce wasn't the best I wish the tomatoes were fresher and they used less oil.

STAY AWAY! I would rate 0 stars if possible. My family and I had always enjoyed dining at Augies since they first opened on Rte 50. We have also catered their food for Christmas Eve gatherings. My family and I most recently dined at Augies on Friday, 9/12/25. My son happened to be home from military service and we wanted to treat him with dinner at Augies as he had never been there. He had previously enjoyed their food from our Christmas Eve catered event but wanted to try dining there that evening. This was the last time we will ever eat Augies! Our dining experience started when our waiter handed me a folded piece of paper that was needed to put under one of the legs of our table to stop it from tilting. I guess the idea of the waiter himself bending down to correct the problem never occurred to him. Ok, so now we'll move on to dinner. After approxiamately four hours of completing our meal, both my son and I had experienced severe gastrointestinal issues in the form of violent diahrrea that evening. We believe it came from the fried calamari appetizer that we both had shared. I noticed some of the calamari was soft and did not appear to be fully fried. Their chicken/veal/eggplant dish was also a complete disappointment as it tasted like it had been frozen and not the same quality as it had been in the past. The amount of onions in the Penne ala Vodka was excessive which ruined that dish as well. We had a large portion of all our food which was not eaten and when asked if we wanted it wrapped, we declined. We attempted to call on 9/13/25 in an effort to share with the owner what had occurred. We spoke initially with a woman and after explaining what had happened she was extremely defensive and unprofessional. When we asked to speak to the owner, she stated that he was unavailable but took our name and number down to have him get back to us. We called back about three days later as we had not heard from anyone and this time spoke to a young man (Torrie) who was apologetic regarding our dining experience and explained the owner was out of town all week but that he would be sure that he received the message to call us when he returned. As of today (9/28/25) we have yet to receive a phone call from the owner of Augies. Rather than writing a review like this, it was our initial desire to make the owner aware that someone in my family and I had experienced food poisoning from eating at his restaurant and that the quality of food had taken a serious decline. We have shared our disappointing dining experience with many family and friends who asked us how our dinner was that night. While I understand that there are a number of things that may go wrong on any given night at even the best of restaurants, the owners lack of follow up on our dining concerns of his resturant speaks volumes of how much he cares about providing a great dining experience. Saratoga county has some great Italian restaurants. I would encourage anyone to try them and stay clear of Augies.
