Absolutely amazing experience! The food was absolutely fantastic – every dish was packed with flavor and beautifully prepared. We were also treated with such warmth and kindness by the staff, which made the whole experience even better. The absolute highlight? The Crema Catalana. It was out of this world – perfectly caramelized, and unforgettable. Highly recommend this place!

I went for dinner with my children (teenagers) and the food was delicious. The salads made with fresh tasty ingredients l. I particularly recommend the baby squid. They have a great terrace super causy. Great for a full meal and/or quick snack and a glass of wine 🍷

I really wish I didn’t pull up already kind of full but I had to stop by when I saw how cute and cozy this place looked! I enjoyed the food so much I just know if I was really hungry it would’ve been even better for me. The service is very nice and respectful. I ate the croquettes with chicken and ham as well as the cannelloni with meat (apparently their signature dish). The sauce from the cannelloni made a great dipping sauce with the bread we ordered too. The meat was very soft and tender.

This is arguably the best food we’ve had in Barcelona. Excellent Catalan cuisine 👌🏽 If you are looking for authentic Catalan dishes, this would be it. We’ve tried almost half of the menu and everything was great- squid was perfectly cooked, beef was tender and drinks were awesome too! Also, superb service from Cecilio.

If I was just grading the food and the service they would receive 10 stars. The quality of the ingredients was amazing, everything was super fresh and prepared with knowledge and love. We had a really tasty meal and we planed to go back many times. Service was nice and the atmosphere was really cozy especially in the garden. However I was really disappointed, not to say angry that they charged 18€ for half a liter of plain water. If they wanted to make money we would have no problem with paying a bit extra for the food as well as leaving generous tip but overcharging like this just made us unlikely to come back. It is offensive for the cook that water is more expensive than the main course. What a pity! Edit: after leaving the review owner contacted us and gave us refund!

Outdoor patio is quaint and lovely; and though the interior setting is quite basic (saving the additional 10% outdoor seating fee), every dish was perfectly prepared and delicious. Our server was no-nonsense, but warmed up with time and gave great suggestions.

Servicio rápido y atento. Calidad de la comida muy bien, todo riquísimo, aunque es cierto que todas las raciones se quedaban pequeñas. Los postres muy caros, no llegamos a pedirlos. La terraza bonita con estufas y mantas. Lo recomendamos pero teniendo en cuenta que por persona mínimo os gastaréis 25€ para arriba. Además que en la carta ponía unos precios y luego cobraron más caro, en los platos subía unos 2€ y algo por cada uno, y en la bebida también más caro.

Restaurante muy bonito y agradable. Quizás me esperaba algo más por las opiniones y los precios, pero todo estaba delicioso. Para tomar algo y picotear está muy bien. Recomendable para parejas, amigos y grupos.

Todos los platos estaban ricos y además de cantidad generosa, por fin me ponen una ensalada que está rica y con una buena ración. Igualmente el resto de platos, los garbanzos muy buenos. Os recomiendo llamar si queréis estar en el patio de la entrada suele llenarse. Lo que falló un poco fue el servicio, tardaban un poco en atendernos, pero fueron muy agradables.

Buena calidad de las materias primas, buen cocinado, el precio es medio para la zona. Estaba lleno tanto el interior como las mesas exteriores. Es pequeño más que acogedor y el olor de la cocina impregna la sala interior. Recomendable la fideuá muy buena y la carne. Ojo porque no está adaptado para movilidad reducida

Comimos en la terraza de Mercader y la experiencia fue positiva. El espacio es muy agradable. Los platos tardaron algo en salir, aunque los camareros hicieron muy buen trabajo: atentos, amables y profesionales. En cuanto a la comida, muy buen nivel en general: los buñuelos deliciosos, la tortilla trufada excelente y el calamar espectacular. Precio alto en relación con la calidad.

Mercader Eixample was not planned, but it looked so nice, we gave it a try. The place offers good outdoor seating option, so we enjoyed good dishes on fresh air. It was not full by lunch, but for dinner I'd suggest to make a reservation. The service was lovely and staff was extra helpful. We tried cod fish balls, potatoes, anchovie, calamari and some other dishes. All of them really tasty, but portion sizes are not too big, keep that in mind. It's a nice place to enjoy good food.

I’ve been to this restaurant six or seven times, so I believe I can give an honest and accurate review. The food is excellent — fresh ingredients, well-prepared Catalan dishes, and I honestly can’t recall a single time when I didn’t eat well here. That’s the reason I keep coming back, especially since I live in the city. The issue, however, is the service. If you’re with foreigners and speaking English, you’ll be treated as if you’re a bother. It’s very clear and impossible to ignore. On the other hand, when you’re with locals and speak Catalan or Spanish, the staff are polite, welcoming, and accommodating. This inconsistency in how customers are treated reflects some of the social tensions in Barcelona today, and it’s truly regrettable. It leaves a bitter aftertaste that the kitchen’s excellent work doesn’t deserve.

We sat outside and the terrace is adorable! Super cozy and not on a super busy street, good for an intimate supper or with friends. Food was great, the onion soup was ok, but everything else was amazing!! Highly recommend the croquettes, they are great!! Thanks for the evening🥂

Restaurant que en el año 2015 da su apertura al corazón del Barrio de L'example en ciudad de Barcelona con la propuesta de Cocina tipica Catalana. Anteriormente y manteniendo su fachada de casona antigua de vivienda particular, luego una consulta medica y posteriormente fue almacen de películas 🎥 de cine. La base de su gastronomía está centrada en su productos frescos locales y sus verduras cultivadas en un huerto ecológico ubicado en le Parque de Collserola. Entre sus platos típicos los calamares y los canelones están bien! El espacio contiene un salón para 18-20 comensales para eventos especiales llamado "La checa del Mercader". Tiene un pequeño jardín al ingresar, qué hace que su ambiente sea muy agradable!

Very beautiful place, but regretfully a disappointment. The food was mediocre at best, and pricey. Given the enormous amounts of better options around, I wouldn't recommend it. If anything can be rescued is the Spanish truffle tortilla. That was good, the rest of the dishes did not meet expectations

I always wanted to go to this place. The atmosphere is lovely, especially during the evening. Unfortunately the food is unimpressive. I was expecting more. The taste of the onion soup was mild and watery and the croquettes were too oily and airy inside. The desert was looking great, however the taste was disappointing. So, if you are in a rush to find a place for a quick toilet break and eventually drink a good coffee, then it’s the perfect place with a nice atmosphere. If you want to eat good and have a great atmosphere, maybe look for another place to eat and drink.

La comida debo reconocer que no estuvo mal. Lo que empañó la estancia fue la cantidad de mosquitos que habían en el salón, que hacían que la comida fuera un calvario. A eso se le sumó el hecho de la lentitud entre plato y plato, y ver cómo los camareros baboseaban sin parar por las chicas que estaban sentadas cerca, muy patética la actitud y poca profesionalidad que mostraron. No lo recomiendo en términos de “ambiente”; a nivel cocina bastante aceptable, pero no es un sitio al que volveremos

El servicio es caótico!! No he visto un servicio tan lento en centro de Barcelona. Esperamos más de 20 minutos para pedir comida, y otra 20 minutos por las bebidas, y 40 minutos más por dos platos. Todos los camareros pasan sin mirar nada durante este tiempo. Todas las mesas a mi alrededor estaban esperando su comida o poder pedir después de mucho tiempo. Todo CAOS! La camarera trajo un plato para uno de nosotros, dejando a mi amiga con los cubiertos en la mano. Pedimos otra copa de vino, pero nunca llegó.

At first glance, everything is there. The place is undeniably charming, beautifully set, the kind of spot that instantly puts you in the mood for a lovely evening. We arrived genuinely excited, ready to enjoy a proper dinner together. And then, reality quietly sat down at the table with us. The Aperol Spritz was impressively shy on Aperol and overly generous with dilution. The service followed the same theme: polite enough but lacking that warmth that turns a meal into an experience. As for the food, it was… fine. Perfectly edible but not super tasty. We had to send back the mussels as they were really cold and dry. In my opinion this is a lovely place to have a drink, enjoy the setting, soak in the atmosphere. Just don’t come expecting a memorable culinary moment or any pleasant surprises on the plate.

We made a booking as we had seen the place while walking around a couple of times. The location is exquisite, it overlooks a beautiful street and you can’t go wrong with the venue if you sit outside. But that’s where the nice part ends. The staff was not attentive and even rude at times (I saw them throw a menu on a client’s table as a way of “presenting it to them”), long wait times for the food and when the food does come… it is mildly unpleasant to say the least. Mussels were cold, sauce was hard to find in the patatas bravas and they forgot Aperol Spritz needs to have a portion of Aperol as well. Do not come for the food. If you want nice views on a sunny day, just come by for a drink on the terrace. Thank me later.

Fuimos a picar algo y la verdad que la relación calidad-precio muy mala. Pedimos un steak tartar (22€) y casi no tenía ni sabía a carne, nos impactó bastante la presentación.

Pedimos unos paves de entrecôte y era horroroso. No se podía masticar y lo tuvimos que escupir. En el plato se veía los nervios blancos. No se podía cortar tampoco. Como un cocinero no lo puede ver esto cuando corta la carne ? Pedimos también una fideua que no valía gran cosa y lo mismo con una tarta de queso de postre. No tuvimos ni las excusas al momento de pagar ni un gesto comercial. Imperdonable. No lo recomiendo

I’ve been coming here for seven years, and unfortunately, my recent experience was very disappointing. The wait staff seemed annoyed, and the manager was yelling at employees in front of customers. The team appeared poorly trained, and there was little attention given to guests. I truly hope management takes steps to address these issues and bring back the great service that used to make this place so enjoyable.
