We loved discovering the original version of churros in Spain — barely sweet on their own! The chocolate sauce was thick and rich, with a pleasantly bitter touch. And as a bonus, the fact that the place served black tea was a delightful surprise!

We stumbled across this cafe in Barcelona and so glad we did! An absolute treat! Delicious baked goods and great quality drinks. Prices are also extremely reasonable for central Barcelona. My husband had the hot chocolate and churros (both delicious) and I had an Italian cappuccino and chocolate croissant, very tasty. The bill came to around €10. Absolutely worth popping into for a drink and sweet treats! Service was also very friendly and welcoming - and patient with Brits with limited Spanish! We would definitely return and recommend.

Very good price for quantity and quality. Churros and chocolate were great, though I do wish there was more (or any) cinnamon on the churros. Chocolate was very rich! 😋 Cute 1940s style seating area, and there's more seating upstairs. It's very busy, so be aware of that!

Awesome churros - deliciously crispy texture with a rich (but not too sweet) hot chocolate. It’s an institution for a reason. Quickly seated but could’ve been a tad faster with taking our order - I’ll let them off though as the place was super busy!

Just stumbled across this, glad we did. Very quaint place , with a lot of history which is great. We sat upstairs looking towards the doorway . Ordered some local , food was very good with the Hot Chocolate to dip them in. Service very good & food great. Was busy people coming and going all the time , we was there around 8.00 pm. Would go again.

2nd visit here & decided to try other stuff besides the Churros. The friendly waiter recommended the Spanish cream which is like a cold version of Creme Brulee & some biscuits which tasted like soft bread. Overall, we liked everything that we tried. The Chocolate dip is a must order. So yummy!

another popular tourist attraction. If you’re in Barcelona you can’t miss an opportunity to try best churros. So I headed to a well-known place to try them and Swiss hot chocolate. People say that’s it’s hard to get a table in there because of the crowd, but I was lucky to get a separate table for just 1 person because I went there early in the morning. I loved this little desert place serving traditional churros and chocolate. Very friendly service, nicr atmosphere, portion of churros is very big I would suggest taking one for two persons.

This is just the best place to go for a traditional breakfast of Churros and Chocolat. The pastries are equally delicious too and they have a wide range of choice.

Una de las chocolaterías más emblemáticas de Barcelona, por ello es bastante habitual encontrar bastante cola para comprar y más aún para poder sentarse en el local a degustar allí mismo su dulce carta. Y es que su chocolate es uno de los mejores que he probado nunca. Los churros los encuentro un poco más flojos, porque los hacen muy finos y si no vas a una hora que estén recién hechos, quedan bastante secos. Pero hay otras opciones muy ricas como los melindros, para acompañar este delicioso chocolate.

Una preciosa cafetería con muy buen servicio, el aseo es minúsculo, pero está muy limpio. La atención es buena y agradable y el chocolate que pedí estaba muy bueno. Los churros no eran caseros, eran congelados

El chocolate es el mejorrrr que he tomado en Barcelona; los churros podrían mejorar, no los sentí tan crujientes quizá porque visité el lugar ya tarde, sobre las 17.00, y no están tan "frescos" por así decirlo. Pero de sabor muy buenos.

Buen lugar para un chocolate. De toda la vida, aunque los churros no son lo mejor. Son rápidos y amables.

Llegamos recién abriendo el día de hoy. Pedimos dos cafes cappuccino y una ración de churros. El café no estaba caliente (estaba tibio) y los churros no eran los mejores, tampoco los peores, estaban, bien, normal. Local muy histórico, con bastante afluencia de personas. La atención fue amable (normal) pero creo que no repetiría y probaría los otros locales de la misma calle. El precio no está mal pero creo que falta un poco de calidad y detalles en el servicio.

Fantastico Chocolate como siempre, pero los churros este pasado sabado eran mas bien mediocres, no parecian recien hechos. Me extraño mucho porque no es la primera vez que visito esta fantastica granja.

Voy desde que era niña. La mejor época es ir en Diciembre, con frío y con los puestecitos de la catedral ya puestos. Entras en un local donde parece que se haya parado el tiempo, tiene su encanto. El chocolate está increíble, de los mejores de BCN. Sin embargo, los churros... los churros son otra historia. Eran duros, secos y sin sabor. No había crujiente, no había textura, nada que los hiciera destacar. Mejor escoger los melindros. La nata también está muy buena, por si se quieren pedir suizos. En resumen, si eres un amante del chocolate, esta “granja” es una buena opción. Pero si esperas churros de alta calidad, mejor busca en otro lado.

When my spouse and I walked into the shop, we were honestly shocked by how crowded it was — total chaos. The puddings were very freshly made, as you can see in the video, and overall it was a nice experience. However, I personally didn’t like that the chocolate was sugar-free.

Really old dessert shop that has a very charming interior with wooden chairs and tables. Seating available both on the ground floor and one level up. Hot chocolate is good and the churros we had were unfortunately a bit dense and chewy. Creme Brulee is really good though. Still worth a visit if you’re in the area.

It looks small from the outside, but there are many seats upstairs. The atmosphere inside is cozy. I really liked the ring churros — they went perfectly with the hot chocolate. The classic chocolate was a bit too bitter for me. Next time, I’ll try the French one. The prices are normal, and it’s worth it. The staff speak English. I recommend this place.

Hacia muchísimos años que no iba. No ha cambiado nada, salvo el personal que lo van renovando. Tiene su encanto, con sus apreturas por el espacio. Para subir a la planta de arriba, pasas por los entresijos de cocina. Si no llegas pronto, hay cola para entrar. El chocolate delicioso, yo me pido la nata en plato aparte, para mezclarlo a mi gusto, lo prefiero a un suizo. Me alegra que se mantenga abierto

Lugar céntrico, muy visitado , sobrevalorado , larga fila para entrar , varias áreas pequeñas , comida básica , chocolate caliente (frío) , churros normales. Atención amable. No se siente acogedor. No lo recomendaría , ni volvería a visitar , hay mejores opciones en el área.

Chocolate bueno. Los churros parecen de plástico. Aconsejo ir a otro sitio, ya que se lo comentas al camarero y nos quiere convencer que son así los churros. Nosotros no somos turistas, hemos comido muchos churros en otros establecimientos y de las churrerías que montan en la calle y le dan mil vueltas a estos.

Bastante decepcionante y me sabe mal decirlo siendo de Barcelona. Llegando a primera hora me hacía ilusión tomar un café cappuccino con nata (y no tenian nata), pues un café con leche... (normal, templado tirando a frío). Una ración de churros; los peores que he probado jamás (parecian del dia anterior, insípidos, reblandecidos y más bien crudos), olvídate si los esperas calentitos, crujientes y recién hechos. Una taza de chocolate caliente, servido templado... y el bikini, mejor no opino. Que pena que este local tradicional no mantenga la calidad de antaño. Eso sí, mantiene la eséncia con ambiente histórico y la atención del personal fue amable. Conclusión, antes de volver, dejaré pasar otros años.

Será un sitio muy emblemático pero primero: para entrar haciendo cola, la señora de la puerta que nos atendió fue un poco borde; nos sentamos en una mesa estrecha con poco espacio; los churros CONGELADOS , no duros ni crudos, auténticamente congelados..me comí solo uno de los cuatro que nos pusieron, lo único bueno fue el suizo que me comí porque la nata era casera pero el chocolate flojo y sin lactosa..yo no tengo alergia a la lactosa pero hemos de comulgar todos con eso, deberían haber dos opciones por favor. Los precios caros, iremos a otra churrería pero desde luego a esa no volveremos, me sentí estafada porque nos pongan churros como caseros cuando son auténticamente congelados😡

We found it a bit overrated, the churros were so stale that it was even hard to break them. The chocolate was not great either. The atmosphere is nice and all, but don't know why this place gets so much attention. Also, one waiter refused to speak in English and only responded to me in Spanish, even though he understood me perfectly.

This place seems to be famous for being an old and long running business and the Churros tasted exactly like that - super super old. I've never been disappointed from a Churros place like this ever before. I don't know what drinks they served us, but they surely weren't Americano/Coffee and Cappuccino. Although I saw a portafilter machine, the drinks smelled and tasted like Instant Coffee. Service wasn't really familiar with english but the young waiter was still very friendly and engaged. He and the cheap prices were the 2nd star, if it weren't for them, this visit would've been a 0-1*. (visited 16.11.2024)

Pero que a pasado? Un sitio mítico de Barcelona (la Granja Dulcinea de la Calle Petritxol), por sus churros, y al que hacía tiempo que no iba, pero hoy fue decepcionante, primero por la responsable de indicar a las personas que estábamos en la cola que podíamos entrar y segundo por la pésima calidad de los churros, que en absoluto parecían que fueran recién hechos, estaban duros y recalentados… Una pena, que no cuiden ni la calidad, ni la educación de algunos empleados, desde luego y me sabe mal decirlo, pero dudo mucho que vuelva a entrar a este sitio. Y teniendo en cuenta que hay otra churrería a pocos metros, mítica también en Barcelona, es una pena que sirvan unos churros tan lamentables.

Decepcionante, los churros incomestibles de lo duros que estaban, los tuvimos que devolver. Nos ofrecieron cambiarlo por una ensaimada (por lo que se ve no tienen churros recién hechos) y minutos más tarde, con el chocolate frio nos comunican que no les queda ensaimada. No hace homenaje al típico dulce español. No recomendamos este lugar para tomar churros con chocolate.

Bastante mal todo. Por empezar mesas vacías y camareros corriendo (falta de organización, ya que habia un batallón de camareros) Tardan bastante en atender. Calor temperatura hades. Churros crudos. Chocolate decente. No recomendable Precios meh.

This is hands down the worst churros I’ve ever had. Even the churros at Disneyland taste better than theirs. We were completely misled by the high ratings. Since we traveled all the way to Barcelona, we wanted to try several different places, but this one was a huge disappointment. The churros tasted like they were taken straight out of a freezer — the inside was still slightly cold, very hard, and extremely unpleasant to eat. The crema catalana also tasted very strange. From the very first bite, there was an odd flavor that almost made me want to throw up. I was extremely disappointed. The photo shows what we couldn’t finish — it was simply inedible.

This was truly disappointing and I don't understand all the great reviews. We ordered the crema Catalana, Swiss hot chocolate, chocolate and churros. Everything was just so tasteless, the sweetest thing was the caramelized topping on the crema Catalana. I'm used to fresh churros deep fried when you order them and coated with cinnamon and sugar. This was not that at all. They do give you a packet of sugar to sprinkle over your churros but the sugar just doesn't stick to a room temperature churro the way it would to a hot and fresh churro. I would definitely skip this place.
