Servicio impecable, personal amable, comida exquisita y precios honestos... Lugar no turístico
This is number 1 in Barcelona! I have been to the city for many weeks and really visited many restaurants. If you are looking for a seafood restaurant, you should try this one! For me, it is simply the best. Try the monkfish, the Paellas, the bread with Alioli!
We came before the restaurant opened but the owners let us in to keep warm from the cold 💛 - a quaint, wholesome and hearty place, with food that warms the soul as if your grandma cooked it. We ordered the “soup rice” or arroz caldoso and it was perfection - flavourful seafood broth with fresh seafood that serves 2 💯 honestly would think this place deserves more hype than it has! 🥰 thank you for the hospitality
Great place for paella! Shrimp with garlic was also good. Grilled Calamari was cooked to perfect. Paella was really good! Noticed most customers ordered Paella and it was really something! Was recommended a dry red wine which was great. The house had lovely decor and good atmosphere. A MUST go place for paella.
I have come for more then 6 times in the time I lived in Barcelona! Amazing atmosphere, amazing food, and above all amazing staff. I brought every guest here to enjoy the real Catalan food and experience and it's for sure the best paella in town. I would recommend the black rice, sangria and the cheese cake for sure!
Absolutely delightful, the food here is a pure symphony of authenticity. Every dish that graced our table was nothing short of excellence. We savored tender stem mussels, succulent calamari, a symphony of fish flavors, artichokes that danced with your taste buds, and for a sweet finale, the choice between dreamy ice cream or a silky flan. As we dined, the atmosphere wrapped around us like a warm, cozy blanket. The charm only deepened as a jovial troupe of locals swept in, adding an infectious sense of festivity. It did get a tad more spirited than what we 'Americans' might be accustomed to, but it only added to the charm of the place. In essence, it was a medley of great atmosphere, exceptional food, and impeccable service. We left with a unanimous decision to return for more, for it was an experience that beckoned us like an old friend, promising even more heartwarming memories.
Very tasty food. If you like seafood, this is your place. Best paella so far that I have tried in Barcelona. However, I recommend booking a reservation. Service was okay, but took forever to give us our check and forgot couple of your drinks. Overall, good food but need to work on their service. Messi ate here too that a plus!
We had a fantastic dinner here at Paco Alcade. It was recommended to us by a family friend. The wait staff speaks English and was very knowledgeable with his recommendations. The Arroz caldoso de bogavante (lobster cooked with rice in a wrought iron pot) was the highlight of the evening. The paella was well done without overcoming the mussels and prawns. We also liked the tapas offered. The razor clams were fresh and moist. The fried squid and pulpo de la plancha (grilled baby octopus) was nicely done with a squeeze of lemon. The prices were affordable with a dinner for 9 adults costing about 230 euros.
Possibly the best paella I’ve ever had! We got the mixed paella with chicken and seafood and it was sensational. The staff were very attentive and drinks were good value for money! Would recommend …

If you go to this place you will taste very very good food in general ! We ate baccalà polpette , zucchini polpette , turrada , sangria and paella and everything was great ! It’s cheap and the food…
Nice waiter, excellent food and good atmosphere! I recommend for everyone who want to eat a fresh fish dishes and homemade desserts. :)
Nice restaurant... friendly staff... good food... good price Yes... we will recommend to everybody Yes... we will be back
Typical paella, no turistic and so big that we couldn’t finish it. The waiters were so kind. We paid €20 comprehensive of wine and patatas bravas (for everyone). So raccomanded!
The place is great! Very close to the beach. I ordered paella, salad and wine and the dishes were huge. It was all very delicious. The place is operating from 1921 (judging by the sign on the wall)…
Review: A cozy little restaurant in the heart of Barceloneta. The service was great, and the prices were fair. The food was okay overall – the seafood paella could use a bit more seafood, but the chicken and vegetable paella was very tasty, as was the breaded escalope. The space is small but comfortable. If they had tap beer, it would be perfect! Desert good as well. Bear in mind that parking in Barceloneta is not that easy but there are few paid car parking close by. Deles meters from the beach. I will go back for sure and try different meals.
This third generation family run restaurant is a must visit in Barceloneta. The good: food was well priced and the portions were a good size. The house Cava is delicious. Service is quick. The bad: food was pretty good. Some of the seafood paella was overcooked but generally quite delicious. It looks like they bake it after frying it which seems to dry it out but I’m no chef. The ugly: the owner hovers over your table waiting for you to order three minutes after sitting down and doesn’t leave until you order. It was just weird and awkward and we ended up feeling rushed when we had nowhere to be and were looking forward to an evening of slow dining and instead felt rushed into ordering something we might not have ordered otherwise. Maybe too many tourists in a rush have changed how they handle tourists? Not sure of the reason but it was odd. All in all: it was a lovely dinner in a great spot with incredible history. Go here. It’s pretty good!
I found this restaurant on Google Maps while on the beach, it’s not easy to find a restaurant rating over 4.0 along the beach, I did not know why? Most restaurants were too touristy without enough local patrons? This Paco Alcalde was a good choice for seafood and local dishes, and the price was also very reasonable. I ordered a ham with melon as appetizer and a house special seafood Paella. I noticed more than half of all patrons ordered the Paella 😀😀 Cheers!
My wife wanted seafood. I took her here. Our impression was that it ONCE may have been good. The service was non personable. whatsoever ever. The fried arti’choke’ literally almost made us cho…
The paella was not good. The sangria was very bad. There was no music and not a good atmosphere. The waiter we had was nice, however the owner was walking around looking angry. They bragged about…
This was a disappointing dinner. While the fish was very well prepared and obviously fresh, the other dishes were lacking flavor or technique. The paella was gummy and neither had a good seafood broth nor other flavorings to make up for that. The asparagus was on the menu, but since it was out of season or out, they served what seemed to be canned white asparagus which was mushy. If you are going for just fish, would recommend, but otherwise, would consider elsewhere in the area. It was nice that they had three menu options in various languages.
The 30€ menu left much to be desired. The fried starter, paella, and dessert failed to impress, and the separate order of costillas for 35€ was disappointing with cold, dry meat and a small portion. I am not mentioning the artichokes, embarrassing. The restaurant needs improvement in maintaining dish quality. I report the meat quality twice to the waiters but nothing. I paid it
The paella is good. But not with so high quality. We are the only Chinese in this restaurant. The waiter just put the paella on the table and go. We have another large plate of vegetables on the table, so he just put it on top and left. Why don't you help us adjust the position of the plates? I think this should be a basic respect. But based on our observation, the waiters will help each guest at another table adjust the position of the plates. I would like to ask if this is racial discrimination. Having a good taste is the foundation of a good restaurant, but we should also respect every guest equally the picture below is what we adjusted. But at that time my friend were eating, inconvenience for us to adjust it. Also another thing is the grill seafood without sauce firstly, but we saw other guest had sauce with grilled seafood, after we asked they gave us. Soooooo confused, worst service I have ever seen
