really good italian food with an authentic taste and style 🍝 also the owner jimmy and the staff are so kind and accommodating! we go here all the time ❤️
Had Baby Shower here. 36 guests. Food and service was excellent. Very pleasant atmosphere and party room. Staff and owner very easy to work with.
I had the filet of sole broiled entree. Best I've ever had. Caesar salad was good, too. Chocolate mousse cake was delectable! Tiramesu was unbelievable!
Great service, food and atmosphere. I had the Chicken Francese and it literally melted in my mouth. After dinner I had the cannoli for desert, by far the best. Left there feeling very satisfied.
The food is great but the service is better. We had my son's first birthday party here. Will always be a special place for my family.
One of the nicest places I can say I've been to.My family have had many functions there birthdays and anniversaries and funerals .Jimmy has nothing but the most respect for the situation at hand. The portions are more than enough and the drinks are plenty .I would recommend this place to anybody.
Great food and staff! The drinks are spot on as well. Took my son here for pizza and we are regulars now. Jimmy and his crew treat you right.
I have eaten here numerous times and have never been disappointed. The food is delicious and owner and staff are wonderful. You can't go wrong eating here.
Jimmy's is a mid sized, simple but classy family restaurant. Large enough to have decent seating on a Saturday night, but small enough to be intimate. I proposed to my girlfriend in this restaurant on a quiet night, the staff was very accommodating and helped me surprise my lady with her ring! The food was excellent and they have a great selection of appetizers like stuffed mushroom and baked clams. The Veal Parmigiana was the best I have ever had!! I would recommend to anyone who wants great Italian food and wine in queens Ny!
I eat at Italian restaurants often and Jimmy's food and experience is on par or better than any. The food is always fresh and delicious. Wait staff is always friendly and attentive. Recommend this place if you live in Queens and well worth the drive if you live within an hour!
Often stop here for dinner on our way to LI. Consistently good food and gI reat service
We looked on the reviews on Yelp for three places in Bayside to have a funeral luncheon after going to Flushing Cemetery. The food here was excellent and worth the effort to find such a nice place with a private room so we could enjoy all of our family members. Thanks to all the staff! The food was excellent!
The food here was delicious. I had the fried calamari for an appetizer. It was cooked to perfection. It was fluffy, not greasy and not overcooked. As a main course I ordered the Chicken Francese with a side of Penne Ala Vodka. Also very tasty and seasoned to perfection. I had a crem brulee for a dessert. It had a smoothe consistency that just melted in your mouth. Also the staff was very kind and attentive. I watched and observed another party that was dining in. I saw that they treated them like they were family. Cracking jokes with the guest and vice versa. For me this was a sight to see because I've never seen that happen in a restaurant.
Best Linguine with Clam Sauce ever! Great House Special Salad, Lasagne and mouth watering Tiramesu. Service was very good. Overall very clean. Restroom was clean. My favorite place so far!
I came here last night for my birthday dinner after not coming for a couple of years and I can honestly say this place has gotten better than what it already was!! Such incredible service (thank you zack) and amazing food!! My in-laws have never been there and they really enjoyed it. I cannot wait to come back again!! I'm really surprised there isn't a line out the door to get in!! Always coming back!! Thank you for the great experience!
Visited on 10/25/2020. Good distancing between customers with indoor and outdoor seating. I was totally fine that they took everyone's temperature upon entry to the restaurant. Wine and food was excellent. Service was very good, and street parking in the vacinity was good.
Definitely the best italian we have had!! Me and my husband went there tonight and the waiters and servers were very polite. Great food nice and quite setting. Will definitely go again and recommend to others. Awesome service :)
Celebrated my friends 70th and it was perfect, waitstaff was attentive and helpful, the restaurant itself is nice and intimate and very clean and we had the event space perfectly tailored to our needs. I highly recommend the veal and the chicken parm is big enough for 2.
Delicious dinner. Wonderful place. Been going there for many years and so glad that Jimmy and his place have survived the pandemic. Never pressured to leave after dinner and feel comfortable sitting with friends after eating.
The best service and most delicious homemade Italian food in Bayside. Jimmy and Al are both a wonderful combination of owners that compliment the experience. The staff is warm and personable and this is your place home away from home. The best part about Jimmy's is the loyal lifetime customers that creates the warm culture.
The service was excellent! Friendly waitstaff. The caponata and olive oil dip was very good. The arugula salad with pignoli, gorgonzola, and avocado was yummy. The Zuppa di Pesci was excellent! Shrimp Parmigiana was also very tasty! The calamari salad delicious too.
Every time I have been here the food was outstanding The service is great and we are so lucky to have them in our neighborhood. I celebrated my birthday there tonight and I was so thankful I did…. Karen
Excellent food and service. It's classic old style, big portions Italian food. Every meal is better than the other.
Great food and excellent service, clam chowder was that best I've had in NY. Had the chicken parmesan and can't wait to have the half I took home for dinner the next day. Everything was great, highly recommend having eating here.
We have been going to this restaurant for many many years. Food and service has always been consistently good! I love the intimate setting. I feel it's a hidden gem.
We held our daughters high school graduation party here. The staff were accommodating and the food was delicious. This place never disappoints. Highly recommend
Took the family out for a nice dinner. First time here and everything was fabulous. Bread was hot, salad was crispy and all our dishes were fabulous.
Great italian restaurant. Make you feel welcomed. place where you can have a conversation. They give you lots of food on your plate. So nice staff and manager. Have gone there 2x . will return again soon.
Really great Italian food. Great service and a large menu selection. Prices were reasonable considering the quality. The only downside is that parking is street parking which may become difficult at times.
Had my son's 21st birthday here and it was amazing. Menu options were great as well as the food. Staff went above and beyond. Def would have another event here.
A fancy restaurant; and by fancy I mean at very least pants, shoes, and a dress shirt. Excellent service. Whether it is a napkin or orders for 20 people, the waiter(s) are always ready to assist. They are well mannered. They know how to take a light joke, and even hit you back with another. The place is very clean and has a beautiful atmosphere. Not too bright, not too dark, nice and quiet. The restaurant never hints, let alone pressures their guests to leave. The food is fresh and tasty. Top notch platters and dishes. For a fancy restaurant the price is pretty reasonable. There is nothing bad I have to say about it, except that they don't serve Pepsi in a can. But in a great place like this, I'll settle for Coca Cola.
Enjoyed and delicious family dinner here last week to celebrate a birthday. We sat at a round table with plenty of room for 7 plus a toddler in a booster seat, and could still hear each other across the table. Service was excellent and personal, and all the entrees were delicious (fish, chicken, veal, gnocchi, and pizza were all equally raved about). Wish we could have tried desert, but portions were generous!
We had very good service and the food was excellent and abundant. The atmosphere was most welcoming as we were greeted by the host (possible owner )who thanked us for coming. We have been coming here for several years for family & friend gatherings and are happy to say that we were never disappointed. I do recommend this restaurant whether dining in or take out.
Always a great place for classic Italian fare.
My favorite dinner place. Best chicken parm. Giant portions. Enough for 3 people. We several times a year. Reasonable pricing.
I have been to this establishment a hand full of times and it okay that's the best that can be said about it. I have never had a bad meal here nor have I ever been particularly impressed. The same could be said about every aspect of the experience from decor to service nothing but average. Edit: Went again and felt I should move them to 5 stars mostly based on improved service.
We go here every week. The food is delicious. The price is right. The staff is very friendly and efficient. They are very knowledgeable about gluten free issues. I have Celiac & have never gotten sick there Also has nice side room for parties. Had a graduation party there. Food & service was great at reasonable price. There is glass door that opens for wheelchairs & strollers & a small bathroom in that party room too.
Fantastic dining experience. The bread and eggplant to start was irresistible. Gnocchi was heavy but perfect. The osso bucco special was delicious and a tremendous portion. Jimmy was a great ghost and the service was friendly and attentive. Definitely worth a return visit.
I rarely leave a review after a first visit and almost never with 5 stars however my lunch here today was truly extraordinary. The restaurant is very well lit and clean with tables spaced nicely apart. The service was excellent despite a large party in a separate room. The waiter, busboy and owner were attentive and very nice. The food was outstanding. Fried zucchini and clams casino for appetizers. I had the chicken cacciatore with pasta which was absolutely scrumptious. Delicious sauce, tender chicken and mushrooms. My sister has the veal and eggplant parmigiano with pasta which she really enjoyed and we both had plenty left to take home. For dessert we had a chocolate Mudd truffle and the chocolate souffle with ice cream and whipped cream and decaf cappuccinos. I had a glass of chianti and she had a soda. The bill including tax was under $100.00. You won't find anything better than this. Can't wait to return and try other items on the menu. Grazia!!!
The chicken meals are very tasty! Servers are courteous to everyone.
We have been coming to this spot since 1989. Jimmy was always our waiter. Haven't been here in a few years. We had a great dinner for Valentines. We were so happy to see Jimmy and the crew. Loved all the renovations and extension. Food was even better than it used to be. Did miss the booths and FuFu sampler. But we will be back real soon. Loved it!!
I have been going to this restaurant since high school, which is over 14 years now (back then it was known as Maria). Service is always great and the food is delicious. You know everything is made to order and not pre-cooked as you can customize your food in any way you like. My favorite is when Jimmy tells us the specials, after he finish describing them I normally think, "yes I want all of those". To summarize, delicious food, excellent service, and great environment.
I'm writing another review because tonight we picked it up and we ate it at home just wanted to be more relaxed and casual loungewear tonight I had the penne alla vodka and my husband had the chicken with the prosciutto which he loves we also ordered the pizza margarita delicious what could I say love❤️ love Jimmy's and the portions are huge. I've also had parties there and everyone that I've invited has loved the food 🥗🍝🍕🥖🥧🍤☕🍰🍮
I haven’t been to Jimmys in about 5 years, the food was excellent. I had chicken parm which the portion was large enough for two meals, the sauce was very tasty . Overall the food was excellent, service was excellent and the prices were surprisingly very reasonable. Jimmys is my now “go to place”
The food, service, staff and decor is excellent. All went smoothly from the reservation to dessert. Came to celebrate a birthday with 8 people and every dish, beverage and experience all were top notch. Will definitely be back. Highly recommend Jimmy’s.
First time dining at this restaurant. The staff is amazing, the service is impeccable and the food was wonderful, some of the best Italian food I've ever had. Will definitely be back.
Food was excellent. What we ordered was plenty to take home. We went on Valentine's Day and didn't make a reservation as we were told we didn't need one. When we got there we were told we had to wait. We waited boyfriend was a bit upset. When the manager found out he apologized and bought us drinks. That was our second time there. Chocolate Martini was so good. As was the tiramisu.
Excellent Food and good service!! Was a saturday around 5.30 p.m so we were fortunate they were kind enough to seat us without a reservation. I can now see why the place was so crowded as e everything we ordered was made fresh and absolutely delicious. Service could have been a little more attentive however it seemed only 3 servers for the entire restaurant and that's just a crazy load to bear. We will be back for sure as it was also quite affordable and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
Pretty decent food with great service. The course menu was very good with more than enough food to fill up ur stomach. The porterhouse on the other hand, was bad to the point of almost being unedible as it was very hard to chew even when it was served medium rare but the veal chop was much better in comparison. It was a stuffed veal chop and the portion was unbelievably big.
We've been to Jimmy's several times over the past couple of years to celebrate birthdays. The staff is always warm, friendly and attentive. The food is outstanding and the atmosphere a beautiful balance of family and romance. Perfect for a date, a family celebration or just a quiet drink at the bar with friends. I definitely recommend it.
Went here with my lady on recommendation of a friend. Nice romantic atmosphere, food was great definitely tasted fresh and homemade, including the tomato sauce. Service friendly and quick Prices reasonable, I've spent more at Applebee's for same layout(appetizer, food, dessert) No doubt I'd go back. Only carp, which has nothing to do with the restaurant ,is you have to deal street parking. Either go after 5 so you can pay the meter 2 hrs and be done, or go after 7 so you don't have to feed the meter at all. That's par for the course in most places in NYC. Few places have lots nowadays, and if they do, you'll often pay for it in markup that they're paying for the empty real estate For transit riders, Q31 stops in front of the door, and the Q12, 13 and N 20 are a short walk
A wonderful Italian Restaurant that we have been going to for about 30 years, formerly Maria’s. Great food, beautifully prepared, a big menu selection, and as Jimmy always reminds you, they’ll cook anything you like as long as they have the ingredients. It has been renovated and is now better payed out. The wait staff is professional and friendly and always checks in to make sure everything is okay. Prices are good, portions are better than expected, and for the kids, personal pizzas are available. Love this place especially for special occasions.
held my daughter's baptism celebration here and it was amazing. The ease of planning it with the team, the food and the service was spectacular. This is on top of every visit I had here where the food and service are consistently great. I cannot recommend a better place to have a meal or hold a private party.
I had the most incredible experience at this Italian restaurant and I can’t stop raving about it! From the moment we sat down, everything felt warm, welcoming, and perfectly curated for a relaxing night out. Before our entrées even arrived, we were treated to freshly toasted bread that was absolutely divine. It came with a rich olive oil and garlic dip that was bursting with flavor, along with a chunky tomato sauce that tasted homemade and full of heart. It was the perfect start to the meal and set the tone for what was to come. For my entrée, I ordered the chicken parmesan with spaghetti, and it was pure comfort food perfection. The chicken was tender and juicy on the inside, and topped with a generous layer of melted cheese and savory marinara sauce. The spaghetti paired beautifully with it, cooked just right and coated in flavorful sauce. My boyfriend had the veal parmesan, and it was just as impressive tender, perfectly breaded, and packed with flavor. We were both completely blown away by the quality and portion sizes. To top it off, I enjoyed an Aperol Spritz that was light, refreshing, and perfectly balanced the ideal complement to such a rich and satisfying meal. What truly made the evening exceptional, though, was the service. The waitstaff was incredibly attentive, friendly, and quick without ever making us feel rushed. The level of care and professionalism was unmatched and made the entire experience feel special. If you’re looking for a place to unwind and indulge in delicious, comforting Italian food with outstanding service, I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant. We’ll absolutely be back!
Very nice place. Cozy atmosphere. But they even have a party room.
Recently ordered the clam cocktail and penne alla vodka and both were very delightful. The clam cocktail was somehow priced at $2.34 on uber eats for 6 raw clams served on a tray full of ice. Was probably a pricing mistake but damn kudos to them for still pulling through. Will definitely be ordering again
Tonight was my first time at Jimmy’s having recently relocated to Queens. I brought my parents who can sometimes be quite picky about their Italian food, but WOW. The service, the portions, the price and the taste of the food were all impeccable. Highly recommend the tomato/mozzarella appetizer and the tortellini carbonara. Will definitely be back again!
As the chapter leader of My Brother’s, My Sister’s Keeper (MBSK), I had the pleasure of bringing a group of 15 students in for lunch—and I’m happy to say the experience exceeded our expectations. From the moment we walked in, the staff greeted us with warmth and professionalism. They were not only incredibly pleasant but also impressively attentive to our group’s needs, making sure everyone was comfortable and well taken care of. The service was quick and efficient, which we truly appreciated given our group size. And the food? Absolutely amazing. Every dish was flavorful, well-prepared, and clearly made with care. Our visit was a perfect blend of great food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere. We will definitely be back. Highly recommended!
It was nice to be back at Jimmy's and good to see the man at our table, friendly and appreciative. I ordered tortellini soup to start. It was a very simple broth, cheese tortellini (most likely made in house) and parsley. A bit plain but nice. I tried one piece of a friend's app that was fantastic. Bacon wrapped mozzarella, sliced tomato base and pesto on top. Excellent! Eggplant Rollatini I give mixed reviews, mostly because of the large chunks of onion and garlic in the ricotta or sauce. I prefer not to crunch too much when eating an eggplant rollatini. The flavors were o.k. Eggplant was cooked perfectly. I ordered a prepared dessert item; pistachio ice cream truffle. It was excellent. Mostly I just love being at Jimmy's. It's like Sunday family dinner.
This spot was recommended by our close friends. We decided to try it for our anniversary and I was not disappointed, I love Italian food and this place exceeded my expectations. The staff was friendly and very attentive. The food was absolutely delicious. We are definitely coming back and recommending this place to all our friends.
Jimmy's Trattoria has a low key atmosphere and great food. We stopped in for a late lunch / early dinner after an appointment and were not disappointed. A glass of wine, baked clams as an appetizer, some amazing lasagna for me, the eggplant/ veal combo for hubby (which he loved), and we were set. Portion sizes were large enough that we had lunch the next day. Staff was friendly and helpful. Loved Jimmy's, would highly recommend!
Food is phenomenal and huge portions! Every single person in our party loved their meal. The francese was light, the Marsala was perfect and my parmigiana was exactly what I wanted. Service was a bit slow but the entire wait staff was very attentive and we didn’t mind it being slow cause we were enjoying the family time together. Minced baked clams were fantastic as well!! Highly recommend going to Jimmy’s.
For the past one year it has been our go to place. Excellent food. Anything you order is delicious and outstanding! For all these years we live in Bayterrace, Bayside we never thought of eating there. From outside it never enticed us to eat there. This is a classic example, you cannot judge a book by it’s cover. We bring here family and friends and we are always satisfied. Great food and excellent service, cozy place. Street parking, with some effort you will find parking.
The restaurant was quaint and with great service. The food was tasetful and fresh. One issue though, online it showed one price and while there, menu prices that we received was higher. As we researched online on where to have lunch, we read the menu items and the lunch menu price is what lead us to go there to eat. Would a Sunday 2pm meal be considered Lunch or Dinner?
We were on our way home and decided to stop for a bite. We had never been here before and decided to give it a try. The food was very good, the staff was friendly and gave us good service. We would definitelty go back.
This is def what I picture when I think of an old school Italian restaurant. The food is great, The decor is simple, old, but not too shabby. The service is where this place shines. Surprised more people don't know about this place, but it seems to be full of their standard neighborhood regulars that obviously appreciate quality Italian food.
Delicious bread and seasoned olive oil, and eggplant appetizer on the table. I ordered shrimp oreganata with extra garlic and it was perfect. The spaghetti and red sauce was nothing special. Next time I'll get the salad instead.
Food was given in huge portions. Couldn't finish the main course. Appetizers were delicious. The calamari tasted like it was just caught from the ocean. Super fresh. Solid spot.
Went here for Valentines Day 💝, the restaurant is set up nicely, waiters are friendly and check up on you regularly. The food is good, although I don't feel as though it's top notch, is it worthy of a double take, possibly, but it wouldn't be my first choice. I will say that if you going for the Penne alla vodka, that is a DEFINITE 10 ALL DAY LONG. The flavor is out of this world good. All in all it was good, I just cannot honestly say it was AS good as some other Italian places. I do recommend that you atleast give this place a try, im just judging by what we have eaten before from other places. It's still a 4 outta 5, so stop by.
erm, yes. solid food. penne ala vodka: 9/10 had the penne ala vodka once and figured i should get it again! it did not disappoint. carbonara tortellini: 7/10 can’t say the same about the carbonara though, i tried a bite of it and was not a fan. calamari: 8/10 this was also not the best since it wasn’t that crunchy but maybe i should’ve gotten dine in instead of takeout? overall the flavor was there tho! price is very reasonable & staff was nice 😊
I would have given a five-star but there were a couple small issues that were not that big a deal but they should have been on top of it. The bread served with the virgin olive oil and everything was burnt. I asked for a side of penne and they served me a side of spaghetti. Other than that the food was delicious. the atmosphere was nice. fairly quiet and the price was VERY reasonable.
It is JUST okay. IMO average food but not memorable " i gotta go back" We had seafood special that was not very flavorful (bland) ... thought trip to trattoria 35 was alot better in the area. Perhaps it was an off day. The fact that they are kid friendly added .5 star and service .5 star....to make 3.......otherwise its just MEHHH.....
Food was excellent. Service and staff definitely not excellent. Aside from bringing our entrees and sides minutes apart, when we re-asked for a cup of coffee (for the 3rd time in 10 minutes) the waiter/busboy literally laughed in our faces). Also very few staff members wore masks or even tried. I wasn’t checked for proof of vaccination either. This is a bayside classic and wish they were better about these things.
You know this place is great when you walk in and you see that they have a wide selection of beer in their Italian market. It was late and this is pretty much all that google showed us as a great choice so we stopped in. We ordered, the filly, the Reuben and a pizza. This place has some great food for the area and when we pass through again we will stop here. The mom even said she would come here just to eat, I will just wait till we pass through again.
Went to Jimmy's for a baby shower, so I can only speak to the preset menu that was served for the event. The food was decent, and the portions were large but the service was rather slow. It took about an hour for our entrees to come out. Overall, a nice roomy space to host a shower, but they could work on their speed a bit.
This is your prototypical neighborhood Italian however lacking the zing. Dishes were all good just a bit under seasoned. One dish stood out was Penne Ala Vodka with grilled chicken…..except chicken resembles boiled instead of grilled, Other than that dinner service was quite fine. I know this restaurant has been in the neighborhood for many years and I’m sure they’re well respected so I’m not closing the book just yet. Let’s see if we can bump that up to a 4 star next time.
So Jimmy's was recommended to me by a co-worker who had eaten there several times. My wife and I decided to give it a try last week for our anniversary. Restaurant was clean, and well lit. Our server was friendly and very attentive and we were seated right away. Started off with some fresh warm semolina bread with herb seasoned olive oil which was delicious. We both love clams casino and were happy to see it on the menu so we ordered it as an appetizer. We have enjoyed clams casino at many other places and they are usually prepared as whole or chopped clam with bread crumbs, some finely chopped onion and green/red pepper, sometimes chopped garlic, and some chopped bacon on top with butter and seasoning. That is where the disappointment started. Our server brought out a half dozen clams on a plate. As he walked away, we both looked at the clams somewhat confused. The clams appeared to be steamed. On top of the clam were some large pieces of chopped onion, with a large chunk of roasted red pepper covering the whole clam, and a piece of bacon on top. No breadcrumbs, butter, or any other seasoning. We both thought that maybe this was just a different way to prepare the clams and ate them but were very disappointed. On my return to my office the next day, my co-worker informed me that in his experience at Jimmy's he always had his clams casino prepared the traditional way so I am not sure what happened to our dinner. Next we both had a salad. My wife had a mixed green salad and I had a Caesar salad. The cucumbers in her salad were very bitter and my Caesar salad had no cheese on top, either grated, shredded, or shaved. For an entree my wife order eggplant parmigiana and I ordered shrimp parmigiana. The marinara sauce was delicious; light, sweet and just the right amount of seasoning. My wife thought her eggplant was just OK, nothing to rave about. The breading on my shrimp was extremely soggy, and just slid off of the shrimp. The shrimp themselves were rubbery, and had practically no taste. I am going to guess that they were previously frozen and most likely farmed raised. Since the last time my co-worker was there was pre-COVID, I have to wonder if there is a new chef working. Whatever the reason, my wife and I will not be returning. There are so many other Italian food options in the Whitestone/Bayside area, I see no reason why we should have to waste money on sub-par food.
The service and overall feel of the restaurant is excellent. The wait staff were very attentive and well trained. The food was not worth the price they charge. The salads we got were large versions of fast food type salads. The entrees were average at best. Don't get their desserts, we got the cream brulee and it was obvious they bought it from Target. I've gotten exactly the same thing just last week and paid less than half the price. No one checked our vaccination status either.
I’ll get straight to the point. The private room here was not a great first impression. The food was worse than subpar I would describe it as edible at best. The whole situation had horrible organization. The waiter had no idea who’s food was who’s. He had an attitude and it was not a good experience. I would recommend everyone to stay far away from this place. You’re better off going to the Korean bbq next door
The service here was beyond terrible. Totally inattentive wait staff never bothered to check on the table one time throughout the entire meal. We had a few different bus boys bring food and drinks because the service sucked so bad. The food wasn’t much better. They told us the specials we ordered them only to have them come back and say they didn’t have them, we made alternate choices and they couldn’t accommodate because they didn’t have that type of pasta. What is this your first night in business ? The pasta wasn’t drained just plated so it was sitting in a puddle of water. It was one disappointment after another here and after all the nonsense they didn’t even try to offer us any type of reconciliation. This place was a one and done and definitely Don’t recommend it to anyone.
So my family had high hopes for this place. We started off with appetizers. Baked clams, clam cocktail and mozzarella sticks. The baked clams were not good. The clams were tiny and were not good. Next the clam cocktail. They were fresh but soooo tiny. Not worth the money. The mozzarella sticks had a half inch coating of something that wasn't just breading. So all the apps were disappointing. We really wanted to just leave but the dinners we ordered were pretty good. The service was decent but we unfortunately would never go back.
My date and i had a six o'clock reservation last night for two, when we arrived the place was completely empty. The waiter showed us to two tables, one was against the wall in the corner and the other table in the hall by an exit. ! We asked to be seated at another table and he refused stating all the other tables were reserved. Keep in mind the place was completely empty so we left and went to a delicious Korean BBQ on the same block. When we left the BBQ we walked by Jimmy's and it was about 20 % full. I was a regular customer there and was considering brining a large party there next week. That's not happening nor will I ever return. Very foolish !
I can't believe this place has such good reviews. Very disappointed from the start. Bread was dried out and seemed to be some kind of cheap dinner roll type bread you get in a diner. Takes way too long to get your food. The Veal & Eggplant Parmigiana dish was simply awful. The veal was overcooked and the eggplant was so tough it was difficult to cut even with a knife. The spaghetti with meat sauce was bland, bland, bland. The hot antipasto appetizer was sort of decent, but nothing special and the portion was quite small for $13. Speaking of cost, the prices are too high for the quality of food. All I can say is this place is on par with the local diners. But at a local diner, I would have walked out paying half of what I paid here and for better food and service.
Don't get the chicken Alfredo. The sauce is very watery. Basically pasta in a watery Alfredo sauce. This dish made me sick, my stomach was going crazy. A ginger ale helped stop me from feeling nauseous and forcing a bathroom run all while the movies missing the action. Very disappointed that this is the first Italian restaurant to make a watery Alfredo soup. Handle with care, the liquid could come out the container. Waste of $25
Ordered close to $200 worth of food for pick up, which I called in. While the people seemed nice over the phone and in person, the portions were so incredibly disappointing and very over priced. I ended up having to make a box of pasta to help supplement the order to have enough food for my family...they got the salad wrong which honestly would have been fine if I didn't pay $18 for basically spinach and red onion...
The owner himself was serving us. I was actually just at this location. The food was absolutely horrible None of the service were there . The Spanish guys who were usually there apparently they Did not come to work . The food was absolutely horrible. The owner himself New for a fact that the food was not up to par . He did not offer a discount or anything Or a replacement let me remind you I’ve been going to this location for several years the food was raw
This is my goto spot for authentic italian food for dine in . I'm not sure if they change ownership but I decided to ordered take out for my family for the first time and boy was i disappointed. ordered lasgna and baked clams for my kids and this is what i got. This is not what i expect it from a authentic italian restaurant. This is what you get from a gas station in the middle of no way, Never again.
