Such incredible food! The staff members are so lovely here. It’s a cute family-run business. Many of the restaurant goers seem to be regulars, and all speaking Spanish, so you know the food is authentic. We got some arepas (beans & cheese, egg & onion & cheese). But I loved the pastelitos the most. We got the guava & cheese flavour and the plantain & cheese - both were to die for and I could eat them every day.
Great food in a great and pleasant ambiance . In the picture I’m going have way of the breakfast combo accompanied of an excellent latte
Stumbled across here on accident, food was fresh and amazing. Jose at the store was amazing and helped me pick my meal since I never had Venezuelan food. Everything was splendid , hot , and super flavorful.
Excellent food, great environment very clean and very attentive personnel. I always wanted to come and check it out, today was the day... I recommend everyone and try this place. Coffe and good are very tasting fresh and delicious.
Delicious food! I’ve been eating here since 2018 and Consistently good food, great service, and an easygoing atmosphere! Recommend 100%. Ricos Pastelitos!
OMG!!!!!! We've lived near here for almost a year and just got around trying it. We went today and thought they were closed for a beautiful event BUT they said we could order TO-GO, perfect! We ordered a pabellon, Caribbean shredded beef and 1 Caribbean ground beef pastelito. About 20 bucks before tip, that sounds expensive right? It's totally worth it, for one they are HUGE empanadas, secondly they are absolutely stuffed with fillings, and lastly they were so fresh. I genuinely think they were made to order. The staff were also all SO KIND, so helpful and went out of their way to make our experience pleasant even for a togo order. I'm so sorry I didn't get names. Please, try this place and know we will be back too 😊
I have been visiting this establishment every Sunday for the past two months, and each experience has been consistently excellent. The food is always delicious, freshly prepared, and full of flavor. In addition, the customer service is outstanding—staff members are attentive, welcoming, and truly make you feel valued. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great food and exceptional service
As a first time visitor I was warmly greeted and asked if I wanted coffee before I even sat down — it felt like visiting a family friend I’d known for decades! The decor is bright and warm, the food and service are both amazing, and I never felt rushed as I sat with a friend chatting on a Thursday morning. The criollo breakfast was delicious and I will definitely be back to try more of the menu!
I love this place! Pastelitos Café is not just about delicious food (tequeños; beef, chicken and potatoes/cheese pastelitos are among the best for me)—it’s a space where you can truly relax and enjoy a stress-free time. The atmosphere, the music, and especially the people who work here make it so special. I only know the names of two of the ladies, Carolina and Carla, and they are wonderful, but everyone who has taken care of me has been just as kind and welcoming. I totally recommend this place!
We are in town from San Antonio and randomly stopped by this place and we are SO happy we did. The service is exceptional. the food was extremely delicious and authentic. They accommodated my sister with a Rice substitution (she can’t eat rice) for veggies that were actually so good with no issues. The owner also introduced himself and made sure we enjoyed our meal. The coffee also was super! I got an espresso and it was just as good or even better than many coffee shops I’ve been too. They have a great set up. Honestly, this Venezuelan restaurant was one of the best I’ve been to and wish we had something like this in San Antonio. Thank you for a great meal (:
If you’re looking for a true taste of Venezuela in Houston, this place is an absolute gem. The food is incredibly fresh and traditional. We were warmly welcomed as non Spanish speakers and service was outstanding. Oh…. And the Venezuelan coffee. Perfection! Try both the sweet and savory pastelitos.
I wasn’t planning on stopping anywhere—I was in full pijamada mode—but the sign caught my eye and I’m SO glad I pulled over. Pastelitos Café is a little slice of Venezuela with a classy twist. The place is gorgeous—super clean, stylish, but chill. Even though I just grabbed my food to go, I could tell it’s the kind of spot you’d want to hang out in. Cozy, welcoming, and full of flavor. Huge shoutout to the guy who took care of me—Herson! (Or maybe Gerson?) seriously the nicest and kindest dude ever. He made me feel welcome instantly, like I was at my cousin’s house back home. So nice he even brought my order to the car… he didn’t have to! What a nice guy! This is what a true Venezuelan is. Felt at home and I’ve been here almost 30 years … keep him at all costs!! The food? DEMASIADO RICA!! Buenísimo todo!! Perfectly crispy pastelitos, and empanadas! packed with flavor, and that authentic Venezuelan taste that’s perfect! I’m from Dallas and trust me—I WISH we had this back home…. So good! 10/10. Will be back—next time not in my pijamas. If you’re Venezuelan or just love good food and good people, this spot is a must. 💛🇻🇪 *I’m coming for a chicha and cachapa next time!
Went here for a Sunday Brunch. It's a pretty small and busy spot, so be ready to wait for a table or come a bit earlier. The Cachapa was delicious, it had a huge piece of cheese inside. The seafood arepa was amazing as well, definitely a must if you like fish and shrimp. Make sure to get some green sauce to add on. Try Pastelitos! You won't be disappointed.
Their usual closing hour is 3PM and it was 830PM so I went in to see if they were really open and sure enough they were. I was told that they’re in the process of extending their business hours beyond 3PM, which is nice. From what it seems the new hours is tentative. The pastelitos I had are great as well as service. The one they ran out was the spinach Alfredo pastelito so I’ll need to come back another time to try that. The empanada was also recommended, but saving that for next time. Great atmosphere for nighttime dining experience. John was nice enough to even throw in an extra pastelito and a water. Awesome!
I read some great reviews on the cafe and so I decided to give it a try. It is definitely a lovely cafe. The color of the wall, paintings hang on the wall, solid wood tables and chairs, all combined into an elegant, relaxing and light hearted atmosphere. Both of us ordered Latte and we are impressed. The dessert was creamy and rich. The staffs were very friendly but not overdoing it. We really had a nice afternoon at this place and will recommend it to anyone.
Meh. I ordered the shredded beef empanada. The meat was tough and chewy. If you just love to chew, this is for you. The pastry was delicious as was the green sauce. I also ordered the guava/cream cheese pastelito. I had ordered this before. I got home and put some honey on top only to find beef and veggies. Overall, I was not pleased.
