I come here often with my Dad, as he really enjoys eating here. Food is decent and the price is fair. The service is good and attentive. Susie was our waitress, and she was professional and timely.

Came on a busy Super Bowl Sunday morning. Despite the place being busy, we were seated within 10 minutes. Our server, Susie, was an absolute love as well as efficient. Kudos to the kitchen staff as well. I got the huevos rancheros and I like my eggs over medium. Most places can’t seem to figure “medium” out and they’re either runny (yuck!) or cooked hard (kinda burned). Today’s eggs were perfect. The place is a Lakewood staple and probably our favorite Norm’s. Thanks again, Susie!!

We always enjoy coming to Norms, there is t one where we live. The only thing is that prices have increased ☹️, but everything was good, cooked as requested and hot! Susie was amazing! She was very welcoming, attentive and professional.

The restaurant was extremely busy. The employees were super friendly and efficient! Especially our waitress Susie. Though she was busy she anticipated our needs and was on top of everything! She was pleasant and personable. Happy Valentine’s Day Susie!! 🙂

I've noticed new menu options and loved it. I order the Greek Chicken Salad and it was delicious. Order the Green Chilaquiles and soo good...🤤 Definitely menu changes will keep us coming. Our waitres Susie so friendly.

I regularly stop by this Norms on Lakewood in particular because I generally have a good experience, I love that the staff is friendly, and I believe the quality and taste of the food is excellent, particularly for the price. From time to time, I see people giving the staff a hard time, but they usually handle it well. I went to the restaurant on Lakewood on the 28th of December and was disappointed at how a customer was behaving with the staff. Despite his bad attitude, the server was kind and got her manager to come out and assist. The manager was a young lady who was busy helping out the servers and was checking in with the customers, so she seemed busy but she came over to help this guy. He was so rude and was calling the server racist despite her efforts to attend to his needs. He was rude, and loud, and out of pocket. Both the server and the supervisor were calm and kind and attempted to make the customer happy, but he was just not reasonable. I hope that the supervisor or manager that was attending to that customer and that server are appreciated for all the nonsense they put up with.

Went to this Norms for Thanksgiving Dinner with just four in our little family group. We’ve had a tough year and no one was up to cooking a turkey dinner. There were not a lot of choices of restaurants for a last minute Thanksgiving meal. We first went to Polly’s Pies in Los Alamitos because their Google listing said they were open-well Polly’s Pies is not open for Thanksgiving dinner and we were feeling defeated that we might miss out on a turkey meal. We re-Googled and found Norms was open. This time we called ahead to make sure, then we headed over. This Norm’s was bursting with positive energy!! There was no wait and the place was packed with happy customers and a very energetic and happy staff. I am so glad we opted for Norms. It felt like a home dinner. It tasted wonderful with soup, AND salad, tender turkey, mash potatoes with gravy and stuffing. A ham entree was also available. The entree was perfect! It came out hot and perfectly timed after the soup and salad. We were not rushed at all even though there was a small wait at the door. Our server, the bus staff and managers were checking in often, quietly and attentively. What I can say for sure is that the Norms staff made the mood. They set the tone with smiles, laughter and chit chat. Years ago I worked Howard Johnson’s, a similar type diner, and working on Thanksgiving was always something everyone volunteered for and I can see that it’s no different at Norms. One last thing, parking was easy and the bill was 100% reasonable. Actually, right now in California the cost of a McDonald’s meal would have been the same or more.

Great food, large portions, low prices, and friendly staff! We eat here at least twice a week and never get tired of it due to the large menu selection. This is down home comfort food. Susie is our favorite server, although all the servers are nice. Susie just excels at adding that personal touch. We always ask for a table in her section whenever she is working. Highly recommend!

5-Star Review — NORMS Restaurant I stopped into NORMS and ordered the Cobb Salad with a cup of coffee, and once again, they reminded me why I love this place: consistency. I met my server, Susie, who was incredible. When I asked her why NORMS always feels so dependable, she told me it’s because so many of the staff have worked together for years—it really is like a family, and you can feel it in the service. The Cobb Salad was massive—in the best way. Fresh, perfectly ripe avocado, delicious crisp bacon, and classic ranch dressing that hit all the right notes. Honestly, finishing it was a challenge because the portions are so generous. And then there’s the coffee. Susie knew all about Apffels Coffee—a local Southern California family company that’s been roasting the same 100% Colombian coffee for decades, special for Norms. It’s fresh, smooth, and she never let my cup get anywhere near empty. She’s good! Overall, NORMS is the definition of an American coffee shop done right. We’re lucky to have them here in Southern California. Highly recommend!

This place feels like home. Staff is quick, capable and friendly but Susie is the best. When she's on I feel like I'm eating at my aunts house. Very quick attentive, warm, welcoming, funny and makes sure your satisfied. Weekends are busy but its quite entertaining.

I love coming here. The waiters and waitresses are so friendly and patient. I love that they never seem frustrated during the dinner rush which gets really loud and busy. They answer all the questions on substitutions professionally and never make you feel rushed. The shift manager is always walking around and taking time to stop and ask tables if they need anything.

My first time coming here and I must say everything was perfect starting with our waitress I can't remember her name but she was very friendly, attentive, and has a great attitude. This is is very clean, the food is delicious and the COFFEE is the best coffee I have ever had NGL. Next time we are in that area I will be going again and taking my family this time it was just my Hubby and I. Love the pancakes 🥞 😋 😍 👌 and I asked for my hash browns extra crispy and the cook did not disappoint 10/10 recommend this place.

Susie was an excellent waitress. She was attentive, friendly and got our table everything we needed. The entire staff was very cheerful and the environment was great for a late breakfast (around 11am). The coffee was brewed well and all of our food came out great. Wish the hash browns were more well done throughout and not just on top, but that's a minor issue. Also, got to use my rewards to comp some goods so that was a bonus. Will definitely return when I'm craving a diner-style breakfast.

Am staying in the area from AU and am a certified night owl. This place has a mood, not too bright and retro decor. Good to have a cheap feed of chicken tenders and they keep the house coffee coming. Also enjoy giving the quirky types a nod at 2am. Not a hipster joint but an accidental gem in the burbs Lakewood.

My food tasted great and it was as I remember it when I was here last time many years ago. I tried something different than normal order than their famous pancakes on this trip. The Bahn Mi sliders were yummy! MY server Susie was amazing!!! Always with a smile with every interaction and delivered prompt service! Such an asset to the Norms company! I grew up in the area, moved away to 2 states north and occasionally return to this particular Norms Restaurant because of the customer service my family and I receive every time. My mom and I just dined in, Susie was our waitress. Per our receipt we sat at table 22/1. I ordered the Veggie omelet with strawberry pancakes (pictured), my mom had the Garlic mushroom chicken, served with salad and fruit. We haven't had Norms in awhile since the location in Santa Monica closed down over 10 years ago. We were in the area for the Cerritos Auto Square and wanted lunch before heading home. Our food was as good as we remembered it without modifications to the menu as we last recalled. Please do not change the menu. The restaurant was a big location, for an old property it was well kept and the AC worked because there was a cold chill as you sat down. The unit runs along the booths on the wall. We were comfortable. There was a bit of a steady flow and the staff worked well together keeping a smooth flow to ensure the customers are attended to. There was a lot of parking as well. We'd come back if we were in the area again. Susie asked for us to leave a review next to her the staff deserves it. I noticed the kitchen had 3 cooks too!

This location is our favorite Norms, Food and service is always great. On every visit it’s always full, but waiting isn’t long. Today we had breakfast and lunch. I had the 1/2 sandwich, soup & salad. I chose tuna, clam chowder and salad with ranch. My sandwich was perfect, salad crispy and fresh and my soup delicious. My kids had breakfast plates. Always very happy eating here, prices are good
