Great authentic restaurant in the heart of the old city, close to the medieval tower. We had Casoncelli alla Bergamasca, the local ravioli with meat, bacon, cheese sage and butter, along with a generous topping of parmesan - utterly delightful. Great selection of beers and wines along with a cosy atmosphere.

My favorite pub in Bergamo! If you like the old school, a real pub atmosphere, where not only turists, but locals as well come to grab a beer, it's the place for you! The bartender is great, a real passionate, plenty of draft and bottle beers there and you always get snacks, some nuts and chips, to your drink. And they have La Chouffe draft, outstanding!

We enjoyed the food a lot. The snack for two, amazing polenta with mushrooms, cheese, and meats, is great in a local casual atmosphere. The staff was nice, and we had several types of beers. It's a great spot.

I saw this place and wanted to come Because it was the only sit down restaurant w piadina and polenta, which we wanted to try! The ratings are far too low for the place so I’m giving 5 stars. The food was fantastic and for a beer bar, the atmosphere was exactly what it Should be. Casual, friendly, a little noisy and really the service staff was very warm.

My kind of place here! Cozy bar/pub with some variety in the beer and a full bar. Plenty of fun in the atmosphere. A tv running with old MTV videos before turning to a soccer match. Service was much friendlier than I expected. Very helpful with the beer selection and even brought over a plate of bruschetta for the table on the house. I really enjoyed this spot.

A good bar that also offers hot food. I don't say "fresh" because the lasagna and pasta were heated rather than cooked after our order, but that's okay because it's not a restaurant. We went here early in the morning when many other places in the area were closed. Overall, we were happy with the prices and service.

Wonderful little spot that provided us with beautiful food drinks and atmosphere. We saw it as we walked past and it looked so cosy so we tried it. Excellent decision

Pub molto piacevole che offre una buona cucina oltre a ottime birre alla spina e in bottiglia. Servizio veloce da personale sorridente e gentile. Atmosfera informale e rilassante. Ad ogni visita a Bergamo non faccio mai mancare una sosta in questo locale.

Il cibo era davvero ottimo. Casoncelli alla bergamasca e risotto ai funghi consigliatissimi. Nota di demerito va per l'organizzazione e il servizio che lasciano a desiderare. Locale piccolino ma caratteristico e sistemato bene. Prezzi non altissimi ma neanche economici.

Prenotato su the fork ma non sapevano. Al di là di questo bel locale con ottimo cibo della zona.

We popped in for a night cap and received a warm welcome and were given advice on the local beers. Sadly, football was on at full volume, which made chatting difficult. I didn't have anything to eat, so in fairness, there was no star rating on the food. Noisy sports or not. I enjoyed my beer in this authentic Italian bar.

Very friendly staff. Wife and I had two pastas and a salad. Both average (in taste and portion size) and nothing that will knock your socks off. Decent selection of Belgian Beers in bottles (all the usually ones) and a few Italian for 6€ a battle which ain’t bad round here.

I’d give a better than average rating for the panini (a bit of greens, ruccola or sth. would be welcome) and the lasagne. personnel was kind and waiting time was relatively ok despite the lunch rush hour. Toilets could have been cleaner and the door of the toilet needs a fix as it wasn’t possible to lock.

Capitati per caso in questa birreria di Bergamo Alta sulla via principale. Molto gentili i ragazzi Ai tavoli, ci hanno trovato rapidamente un tavolo nonostante la coda. Servizio veloce e cortese. Ambiente ampio, ma non troppo rumoroso nonostante fosse strapieno. Buonissima la zuppa di legumi e farro.

Che dire... abbiamo guardato il menù esposto in bacheca e siamo entrati per prendere una piadina, peccato che nel fine settimana, guarda caso, non fanno piadine e potrabbe anche andar bene, peccato che bisogna cambiare il menù esposto. (Strategia ?) Il tagliere x 2 abbondante ma con i salumi si può fare di più.Porzione adeguate, coniglio ben cotto, peccato che la polenta era insapore; il roastbeef tagliato molto spesso e non di certo di ottima qualità. Per i prezzi, capisco che essendo in Città alta , siano un pò più altini della norma. In generale, non posso dire che siamo stati molto soddisfatti.

Cibo nella norma. Servizio da rivedere: trattati in modo ostile da una cameriera (con accento non italiano), risposte belle dirette con toni non tanto amichevoli a semplici richieste. In assenza del titolare non ho potuto riportare l’accaduto. Se dovessi ritornare a ‘città alta’ andrei altrove.

The location is positioned near one of the tourist attractions of the city. Very pleasant tourist atmosphere; a place where you can sit quietly and enjoy a good beer. the food and drinks were very good, but the service I don't know why the girl wasn't smiling she was angry and not at all hospitable.

Food and drinks were good. Watch out when you take starter for 2 persons with ham and cheeses - I do not recommend to take it together with main course because it's huge. When it comes to service i was not really happy. Waiters do not even know simple words in english it's difficult to communicate. They forgot orders, I had to remind them after couple of min waiting for a wine. We waited for a bill 20 min asking waiter 3 times when will it come. At third time we relized that maybe we should pay at the bar - waiter failed to communicate that, I think even if you do not know english it is possible, it's only about goodwill.

This place was just ok. I had the casoncelli which was good, but my companion had the rabbit which was very dry and tough. He had asked for lasagna and was told there was no more, but someone who came in after and was seated at the adjacent table asked for lasagna and a serving magically appeared. We would have tried a dessert but the server did not return after clearing dinner plates.

Lovely location and good food but incredibly slow service. We ordered coffee after the meal, waited almost an hour and never got it. No apologies either. Will never come again.

We’ve been here after walking in Citta Alta for a couple minutes. After we entered, we waited approximately 5 minutes until the server realized we were at the table. The server was very annoyed that we speak English and she was serving other tables with Italians very nicely, just us poorly. Awful experience.
