Avis sur Las Panteras Negras Bergenfield
Sometimes you keep a review in your pocket for a long time because you don’t want anyone in on the secret. Truth be told we’ve been visiting Panteras over a year pretty regularly. And as much as I like to dish out my opinions, I’ve felt reticent to divulge my feelings for this modest 2nd avenue haunt. It’s nothing fancy. The table layout barely makes any sense- to the point that they seem to not want more business. And as much as I’d like to keep this place private, I recognize they need to turn a profit and stay alive. The service is always exceptional and friendly. The margaritas are tasty and strong. The chips and salsa are perfectly good. Burritos, tacos, beans, quesadillas, salads are all really good. Their proteins rise above most other places from carne asada to carnitas. Nothing here is the best we’ve ever had but it’s all so damn good that when taken as a whole we find it hard to want to go anywhere else. We’ve been virtually alone every time we go to Panteras, which for us is exactly how we like it. It’s a selfish impulse and not very forward thinking. So here you go: you’re welcome.
A place you can pass by and have to walk back to double look!!Wow, The service is very attentative, portion of food is very generous and food presentation IS AMAZING!!! I would definitely recommend and return to this restaurant.Yes it's family friendly.
This unpretentious, authentic Mexican jaunt is filled with a variety of flavorful food choices that do not disappoint at prices easy to handle. In addition, the service is impeccable. I highly recommend eating here!
I was minding my business, walking to Chipotle, when I noticed this place. I couldn’t tell you what attracted me to it but it just gave GOOD FOOD HERE energy so I changed my plans. Inside is a decently-sized restaurant space with a bar and very good food! Because I was alr on a mission, I got the shrimp burrito bowl. I wasn’t going to drink but they informed me it was happy hour ON A SUNDAY, how can I refuse?! So 2 mojitos, chips and salsa, and shrimp burrito bowl later, I’m very, very pleased! The bowl came with SO MUCH shrimp, it was almost comical. In the pic, you can see one pile and there was a whole nother pile on the side. Y’all know most places skimp on the protein but not here! It was indeed fresh and delicious. My fav are the hot sauces/salsas! I couldn’t put enough on my food. The mojito was grand and light, not sugary at all. They also use paper straws that didn’t dissolve or fall apart and we love that! It’s definitely worth noting that the service here was very kind and attentive. Everyone came by to keep my water full and check on me. I HIGHLY recommend stopping by for a try!
One of the highlights of my delivery experience was the jicama salad. It was a refreshing and vibrant combination of crisp jicama, tangy citrus, and a medley of fresh vegetables. Next, I savored the chilaquiles—a classic Mexican dish that did not disappoint. The crispy tortilla chips, smothered in a rich and flavorful sauce, created a symphony of taste and texture. The quesadillas were another highlight of my meal. The warm, pillowy tortillas were filled with melted cheese and a choice of delicious fillings.
Nice place with great food and music. Big portions! You can literally smell the tacos when they're making it. Shots were on the house. 🙌🏼❤
I LOVE IT HERE !! Best authentic Mexican food ever, their drinks are amazing as well. I love the staff so welcoming and polite definitely one of my favorite places to eat.
Great sized portions, polite waitress, delicious authentic fresh food. Priced well, will definitely return!
The service here is outstanding as well as the food. I loved the grilled mango chicken. The portions are perfect.
What’s better then a homestyle Mexican place open till 1:30 am in manhattan? The fact that they make quality food! If you think you’ve actually tried a burrito bowl because you’ve had chipotle, you’re wrong. The burrito bowl from Las Panteras Negras totally blows chipotle out of the water quality and taste wise and they don’t even charge for guacamole. Not to mention you get a bigger portion too! This is my go to Mexican take out spot in the upper east side!
I ate there last night and it was great 👍🏾. The food and service was excellent.

Ladies & Gentlemen, They serve the best steak tacos I’ve ever eaten in all of NYC! And actually, they cook the steak fresh at your liking, medium rare, medium, etc. Everything they serve is well prepared with fresh ingredients. Nonetheless, very reasonable prices, very clean and exceptional service. Great exotic drinks as well! I highly recommend this place!
This place is a neighborhood gem. Too bad I don't eat meat or else I would eat here more often. Lots to choose from. Excellent quality food for a good price. Friendly service. Highly recommend. The waitress who works during the day is very sweet and accommodating. I look forward to being served by her. The entire staff is very friendly but the food is the main player. Very good food.
Wifey and I stopped in this weekend on a whim. The spot is quaint and cozy, not big, but not claustrophobic. We ordered Tacos al Pastor and a Mimosa for her and steak and eggs from the brunch menu for me. The food was very good, but the service was exceptional. The staff are super friendly and attentive. We have plans to go back this weekend when we're back in the neighborhood.

Can't say enough about the food and staff. I wish I took pictures of the food because it was incredible. I went during happy hour with my wife who is from Colombia and my friend (Belgium) and his wife from El Salvador. We had a beautiful experience not only from the food but from the staff as well. We felt like we were home with family.
Small Mexican themed restaurant with excellent food and great service. The Mole Poblano is excellent. Smoky, chocolaty with a hint of heat.
They have happy hour during the weekend too! Amazing. The mojito was one of the freshest I’ve ever had. The frozen margarita was also very good!
Food was fresh and a very good size , Services was excellent drinks not to good but ok 👍🏽

Food and food is good. I would give them 5 stars if they had frozen drinks machine.

The horchata tasted like lightly sweetened sand, very gritty. The food tasted okay and was a decent amount. The nachos were a little on the cold side. The waitress was attentive until it seemed like the entire staff was off their shift, so she was distracted.

The horchata came out and tasted like it had not be strained. Super chalky and just leaves a bitter after taste. It was 5pm and a Sunday and we were the only table, I haven’t seen a wait staff so focused on prepping to go home at 5pm on a Sunday night when they close at 10pm. I got the enchiladas. The first bite was pure cartilage. Followed by the second bite. They use leg and thigh meat but weren’t careful at all when shredding it. I took two bites and I was done I told them and they didn’t care. The steak burrito wasn’t bad but there are food trucks that do better. The staff says they do better at brunch but i won’t be back to risk more of my money.
