Avis sur Table d'Hôte Bergenfield
Cozy French bistro in the Upper East Side. Make yourself comfortable with delicious French cuisine. If you can’t decide from their menu use the Plats du Jours as your guide. I recommend pairing your plate with one of their wines. A limited but well balanced selection.
Perfect place for our anniversary dinner celebration! Everything from the appetizers to the dish of the day was absolutely delicious. The braised short rib pulled apart like butter (I didn’t need to use my knife). The interior is cozy, and makes the entire experience feel more intimate. And of course, the service was top notch. I’m excited to visit again to try their other dishes of the day!
Found my new favorite NYC French spot, perfect for an outdoor dinner date. Great service and a cute out door and indoor setup. Here are some must try dishes: 💦 Bouchot Mussels saffron, rouille, crostini 🍝 Ricotta Cavatelli w/ sweet italian sausage 🦆 DUCK A L’ORANGE (Thursday Plat du Jour) 🍓 Strawberry Shortcake Scone (absolutely unreal and a must must try)
Ordered a Saturday dinner special which came with salad (or soup of the day) and dessert. Every morsel delicious, excellent staff, casual yet elegant ambience. We were a table of five and I got to taste a bite of everyone else’s meals, too. Lucky me! I can’t wait to comeback for lunch with friends.
One of the best meals I've had in a very long time. Strawberry Shortcake was divine. Everything delicious. Chef Michael Barton is amazing! Go!
Very friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere. I am not a fan of salmon, but this salmon was so delicious. Cooked to perfection.everything was delicious. Perfect place for a romantic lunch or dinner.
Cute and cozy little French place. I’ve gone several times for brunch and lunch and it’s always delicious. Love the croque monsieur and the pasta. The service is always very friendly.
OMG!!! The food is so delish!!!!! Please order dessert menu!!!! The servics is excellent ♥️
The food is amazing…. The service is impeccable…. Ambiance is small but a friendly neighborhood vibe. Five stars for this NY gem. Perfect for a quiet date with someone you love.
Such a gem in the upper upper East, very delicious food/wine and cozy atmosphere. The duck confit is brilliant~ service is good too. Don't miss it!

Warm atmosphere and delicious food. Great cafe!
Small group dinner here on a Saturday night. Definitely make reservations ahead of time as every table was occupied while we were there (always a great sign). Food was incredible. We ordered the Saturday night special and the meat was melting right off the bone. Vegetables were crunchy and flavorful. For dessert we had the earl grey tart and WOW. So fresh and delicious. Great for this group gathering and I also can’t wait to go back with just my partner and I for an intimate dinner. Cannot recommend this place enough!!!
My favorite place in NYC - the perfect tiny neighborhood restaurantthat you hope for. I hope that they return.

Excellent Food, Cracker-jack staff, Reasonable Prices. Very small dining room means by service. Chopped salad was great. Veggie Burger is made in-house.

Small, cozy restaurant that serves French-American breakfast dishes, Hamburgers and Sandwiches for Lunch. It is not particularly „French“. Food is good, so is the service. Three stars for the prices: a cappuccino for 9$, Hamburger 32$. That makes 50$ incl credit card surcharge, tax and tips. Well, it’s NYC.
Cute place but a rough lunch. Ordered the hamburger a cheval which came without any bacon, egg or cheese. They did bring us those toppings but then we realized the burger was very undercooked. Sent it back and this time it was cooked medium and had the toppings but very dry, strange flavor. The chopped chicken salad was pretty solid. Would come back and try other menu items but for a $34 burger I was unimpressed.
This is a review for their brunch only. Their eggs Benedict and French grand slam subpar. Nothing special but nothing bad, it’s a great place if you’re hungry and enjoy small cafe/restaurant vibes. Service was great and the servers were very attentive. Overall I wouldn’t come again unless it was to try their lunch or dinner menu.

Ive been eating here on and off for 20 years. We were really disappointed today at Easter lunch. Our server was flustered and not very good. She spilled water, forgot to serve the mini muffins and was too all over the place. The onion soup was flavorless, my sons steak was missing the hollandaise sauce and the strawberry shortcake was basically 2 oatmeal cookies warmed over cream and stewed strawberries. Nothing to write home about. I think this place needs a serious overhaul.

My family and I are still reminiscing about an amazing dinner we had at Chez Janou in Paris last year and thought it would be a treat to go to Table D'Hote for a lovely Easter brunch. We've lived on the UES since the early 80's and this was singularly the worst brunch we've ever had. Anywhere. Out of two orders of Eggs Benedict and one Roland Garros, we wound up with six hardboiled eggs. In addition, my daughter's sausages were so overcooked (read burned) that she couldn't cut them. We asked that they re-do the four eggs from the Eggs Benedict and, after 10 minutes, they plopped one dripping poached egg on each of our two salads. They said two more would be coming. I asked for some Hollandaise sauce for those soggy, pathetic eggs and they said it was Easter and everyone ordered Eggs Benedict and they didn't have anymore. I said forget it, sent mine back and skipped Easter brunch altogether. Instead of taking our dishes back and making them properly, they brought bits and pieces so that no one was eating together. Instead of conversing, some were eating, some were waiting and I just wanted to go home. No apology, nothing but a bad experience. I understand that the chef/owner must not have been in the kitchen that day, but fair warning should be given so that people don't waste their money or precious family holidays. To be fair, the potato leek soup was fantastic and the atmosphere is charming, but all-in-all this was nothing but a one-star experience.
