I’ve been going to this place for almost 20 years while ownership may have changed it still one of my fav places to get jaja meng noodles for cheap. And they are delicious. I think they still make the noodles from scratch

My favorite Korean ramen in the United States of America
Now I HAVE had ramen here before (or becayse it's Korean ramen...ramyun), but what really stands out are the specialty dishes. Im talking things like kimchi jeon and their spicy rice cakes. It's honestly so hard to find old Korean stuff around here and I have to say that Bear's tops it. I order from this place all the time and it's so good to have a nice, real Korean dish for once.
Bear’s Ramen House is my favorite Korean spot in Berkeley. I love the little hole-in-the-wall shop and Irene, the owner, is so sweet. They accept venmo and cash, not card, as a forewarning. The food here is authentic and they have my favorites like Mul Nnangmyun, Jajangmyun, and Tteokbokki <3
I love this place so much. Highly recommend the Kimchi Fried Noodle or rice. Always good. Friendly staff, fantastic food.
It was a very nice Christmas Eve meal 🎄 ☺️ 😊 😌
I came to this restaurant because I really really needed to pee. Other restaurants refused to give me the key. However, the owner here was kind and very understanding. Super nice and has a great attitude. Gave me the key in exchange for ordering food and holding my credit card which of course is fine because keys are expensive to replace especially through the landlord. I decided to get the potstickers as it was my first time in Berkeley, the potstickers are amazing. Tasty, fresh, meaty and crispy. Parking was a challenge but I’m definitely going to be back to try their Ramen. I mean, Ramen is in the name. Should’ve tried it but I went Korean BBQ before I came here. Thank you again for the tasty food and for letting me use the outside bathroom! Kudos 👌 감사합니다

The food was pretty good, though from what I've seen the prices are pretty high. GBO gave us an item included, but otherwise, even though the food tastes good and has great portions, it's very expensive. Also, for any GBOers who see this, the spicy rice cakes (Tteokbokki) is not portioned for a full meal! Otherwise the dine out area is quite nice!
The kimchi fried rice was delicious! Slightly dry but the flavor and egg on top made it so worth it! Would highly recommend for the yummy kimchi options they have and good selection of ramen from simple to complex. Good choices for thise who dont eat red meat! They have quick and friendly service. Order outside at a kiosk. Some indoor seating and lots of outdoor seating. Definitely will be back!

A small restaurant tucked inside the Durant food court. This is a personal favorite restaurant of mine. My favorite dish is kimchi fried noodle with spam or pork, although quite a few of their dishes are great. Their ramen isn't that high quality, but their gooksoo (which is used in the fried noodle dish) is made fresh and is very tasty. Their staff are very friendly as well.
Nice small spot. Korean, but we got Ramen. The guys were nice and the food was good though served a bit too hot in temperature, I burned my mouth and had to wait 10 minutes to eat.
My friend and I got Kimchi Fried Rice with different add-ins. My shrimp was great, but the spam gave him heartburn. They only accept cash and Slyde, so I use my Slyde app there to save money and that charges the rest to my credit card
Cheap Korean-American options that are filling, satisfying and soulful. It's great that its open late and food comes out fresh. I also like supporting the small Asian businesses. I've tried both the kimchi fried noodle and kimchi fried rice. Though both a little oily- they have a nice kick, a good amount of flavor and meat (I got spam and beef), and the carbs are well-cooked and hearty. Beware of the really hot plate- they transfer the food to a plate and don't let it cool down so I burned my tongue a little. Despite this I still enjoyed the flavor and a cheap dinner.
4 stars just for the Kimchi Fried Rice with Spam. My favorite place to eat at Asian Ghetto!!! I usually eat here when I'm pretty busy because the food usually comes out quickly (except when it's packed on some nights). This place has the BEST kimchi fried rice EVER. I always get disappointed when I order it from other places... it's even better than my own and my mom's (sorry mom). I don't know how they make it so tasty because it's so simple. Take food to-go because there's not much space inside. They also don't take card here, so have cash ready (BoA ATMs down the street on Telegraph and Durant, Wells Fargo ATMs on Bancroft).

The bulgogi ramen was under-seasoned. When I got home, I had to add salt and pepper to the broth, since it was unbelievably bland. The egg was also over cooked.
Unfortunately, the flavors are all wrong. The tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) was neither sweet nor sour, but rather a weird salty flavor. The jjampong was similarly poor, not tasting the right way. I haven't yet tried the jjajangmyun, but I do not have high hopes. It's possible that other items on their menu are fine, but their Korean/Chinese dishes need significant rework.

I don't know whether to be confused or disappointed. The noodles were... edible. The chashu was... disappointing. The egg was... fried? What? I did finish the bowl, but this meal was a total waste of 20 bucks. I swear the plastic spoon had more flavor than the broth.
The fried rice is very dry. It took them 20 minutes to prepare my meal. 🥹🥹🥹 I don’t recommend this restaurant. They put minimum beef in ur food.

Worst packaging ever. Why not just pour my $15 soup directly into the plastic bag instead of pretending to have a functional container that leaks everywhere. The food itself is okay but there are a lot of other places in berkeley to get ramen who know how to package it so it doesn’t spill everywhere. I feel terrible for the delivery people who pick up this ticking time bomb of spilled soup and negative customer ratings
Nothing special. Cash and vemo only. Pretty bad food hygiene. Found a massive hair in my Ramen, which was needless to say an unpleasant extra! Will not be eating there for the rest of my stay in Berkeley.
