Avis sur Crepevine Berkeley
SO good. The crepes were delicious, portions were huge, and everything tasted super fresh. Service was fast even though it was packed, and the vibe was lively and fun. Definitely one of my favorite casual spots in Berkeley — will absolutely be back!
My wife and I love coming to Crepevine on Shattuck and Cedar Streets in Berkeley for lunch, whether by ourselves or with a group of friends or coworkers. The enormous menu has something for everyone, whether you are looking for a healthy salad, a savory burger, a decadent dessert crepe, or a stack of pancakes. But let’s be honest, there are tons of great places to eat in Berkeley. What makes this Crepevine location so special is the wonderful staff, especially Cielo, Maria, and Arati, who create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. If you are lucky enough to be served by one of them, they will be friendly and kind, and they will take great care of you from the moment you enter until you leave.
Amazing all around. They graciously accommodated our big group on such short notice and were speedy and efficient with food, not to mention the kindness and patience! The food was delicious! I split the tri-berry crepe with a friend which was more than enough for me and it was phenomenal! A gorgeous space with amazing people. Me and my group will come here every time we stop by in berkeley for sure!
Food was amazing, service was stellar. I ordered a sweet dish, and then immediately realized I was craving savory. After asking to switch it, my first meal came out. When saying it would okay and that I didn’t need it, they made it anyways. When I tried to pay for it, they said no. Truly unbelievable service and such an understanding staff. Food was delicious, sweet OR savory!
TLDR - Spacious spot with quick service and great breakfast/ lunch options. Fit for large or smaller sizer parties. Love the house potatoes - nicely seasoned and flavored. The crepe is savory and yummy but I will warn that it might get soggy because of the juices from the spinach and capers. I also got a side of the fresh squeezed OJ - perfect weekend brunch spot.
I had an absolutely wonderful experience at this restaurant! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The harvest bowl from the fall menu was delicious with the orange mimosa hence, best combo . The food was delicious Shoutout to Sam for her service and kindness It’s rare to find someone who truly goes above and beyond to make guests feel cared for, and Sam did exactly that. Definitely be coming back soon !
Overall great experience! Weekday mornings aren’t very crowded and it’s cozy and peaceful. I ordered a savory San Francisco crepe and one of their house special lattes, and a small muffin was included as well. The portions were very generous. I struggled to move for a while afterwards. However, the spinach to smoked salmon ratio inside was very high - there was a TON of spinach.
Went for a breakfast. It was my first time. Since it wasn’t that busy I was able to get table right under the sun shade. The service was amazing and the food was awesome. It’s gonna be my new favorite breakfast place. I had smoked salmon with poached eggs and my friend had omelette. Their fresh squeezed orange juice just made my breakfast whole.
The food and service was great at Crepevine! My husband and I shared a tasty Pioneer sandwich. It’s nice that a side salad and a generous portion of crispy fries are included. Also, he had a bowl of black bean chili and I had the chicken veggie soup. Everything was delicious and tasted home made. I would highly recommend dining at Crepvine!
The food is great and comes fast. I wish it wasn’t so loud. The espresso machine or whatever is super annoying.
The restaurant is in a great location, clean and has all the vibes. Love they also have outdoor seating. The menu offers many choices and they have specials. The service is meh. 🫤 Not friendly or helpful. Kinda felt rushed a bit as you order at the cash register and not the table. Yet there was not a line so… why? The food was ok. We have been twice now and felt the same each time. We ordered two specials. The squash soup, served medium warm, and the shakshuka. My husband said the shakshuka was way too sour and the tomatoes were not fresh. I also ordered a chai latte, extra hot, which also came out medium warm. Perhaps we just order the wrong things 😂 Squash soup $6.95 ( great portion, but came spilled) Shakshuka $17.95
The food is excellent, but the pregnant server on the morning on 1/31 called me a cabron because I was looking for water. I am white color, but I do speak Spanish and I found that incredibly rude.
Crepevine has a cozy, inviting vibe and a menu packed with variety—crepes, pastas, salads, and more. The food is solid and satisfying, with generous portions and fresh ingredients. I’ve tried both savory and sweet options, and everything has been consistently good. That said, nothing really stands out as exceptional. It’s tasty, but not memorable. For the price point—often $18–25 per plate once you factor in tax and tip—it feels like you’re paying a bit more than the experience delivers. The ingredients are fresh, but the flavors are pretty straightforward, and the presentation doesn’t quite justify the upscale casual price. Still, the service is friendly, and it’s a great spot if you’re in the mood for variety or need something crowd-pleasing. Just manage expectations—it’s more of a convenient comfort food spot than a culinary standout.
Whatever you do, don't order the tuna melt, it was awful. It was supposed to be white albacore tuna but that's not possible. It was served open face with a very low grade of cheddar cheese. I was able to eat half with the mixed green salad. My wife had the fettuccine with spinach and salmon. The salmon was not edible. It was overcooked and dry. The service was good and it may be that some of the other items are good. I will never go there again. Buyer beware.
Disappointing Experience During Recent Visit I’m writing to share feedback about my most recent visit. I come to this restaurant regularly, and the service is usually very good, which is why today’s experience was disappointing. My partner asked a waitress to move the outdoor heater closer to our table. She said it would be no problem, but she never came back. Later, a heater farther away was turned on instead, with no follow-up. We received our food before our drinks. When I went to ask about our coffees, they were already prepared and sitting on the counter. At one point, items that did not belong to us were brought to our table and then taken back. While not a major issue by itself, it added to the overall sense of disorganization. Regarding my order: since orders are placed at the counter, I asked there whether eggs already came with my plate and was told yes. When the food arrived, the plate did include eggs as expected, but extra eggs were also brought on the side, even though I had only asked for clarification—not for additional eggs. There was also a cleanliness issue. There was a visible coffee-and-milk spill on our table. When the waitress brought napkins and silverware, she placed the napkins directly over the spill and then put the utensils on top, instead of cleaning the table first. Finally, my partner ordered chamomile tea with honey. The honey was forgotten and never came. Overall, this experience felt disorganized and inconsistent with the level of service I normally receive here, which is why I wanted to bring it to your attention. Sincerely,
My partner and I dined here the other night. We frequent the Rockridge location often with no issues. We both got a pasta dish with grilled chicken. We must've got a bad batch of chicken because not even 5 hours after competing our meals - we were racing to the toilet. I do believe this to be a one off occurrence, so I don't want to write off the restaurant entirely, but I do believe some sort of refund or credit would restore my faith in the franchise due to the painful inconvenience.
Staff isn't very friendly here. Pay attention to the some of the recent reviews which say the same. I ordered a club sandwich on sourdough. About 10 min later after my partner had already gotten their food, a staff came up and showed me my plate, no apology and very rudely says "They made your sandwhich with rye. Do you want it." I ask, "Oh what does it normally come with again?" She says "Sourdough." I politely tell her I would like it the way it comes. Later she comes over with my sandwich, no apology, no form of acknowledgement or anything and rudely puts my plate down. As if I was somehow inconveniencing them for their mistake. Just a weird interaction overall. Food was decent.
My partner and I recently went here for dinner. He found a hard white substance (likely food) still stuck inside his glass, which was very gross and concerning, especially since he had already drunk most of the water before noticing it. This was extremely off-putting. I’ve enjoyed coming here in the past, but this experience really deterred me. The water also consistently seems to have particles in it, which raises concerns about cleanliness. When I brought this up, the staff did not seem to care and simply apologized without addressing the issue. While the food is usually good, the poor service and lack of regard for hygiene standards led me to leave this review. Because of this experience, I’m unlikely to return.
First time trying this restaurant during my lunch break, I was greeted and helped quickly. However, the restaurant itself is a 0. This place is filled with flies and gnats. I literally took one bite of my waffle before 3 flies attacked it. Advice to this business is to get rid of the bugs and clean the establishment better. Don't spend your money here until they get this under control, you will be thoroughly upset.
