I frequent mikes place every Sunday and Wednesday for live music and football. Amazing staff! Joe takes care of all your drinking and eating needs! Free food and a great people! 5+stars!

The staff is really good, especially Joe. The regulars are locals, and very inviting. Enough TVs to keep you interested on a Saturday or Sunday. Shuffleboard and a pool table. Ok beer selection, and great mixed drinks.

I thought I'd update my previous review. The new proprioters have done an exceptional job of bringing this establishment into its own! Known as "Old Almaden" The refreshed Interior has only just begun. They have put together an amazing team of professional bartenders, and managers. You won't be disappointed by the staff. 😉 I see big things for this spot. Don't be late to the party. Go check it out. This is not your dad's bar.

I had an interesting experience at Mike’s Place that I’d like to share. I showed up for a 49’s game and I was having a good time when I collapsed flat out on the floor while carrying three drinks, spilling and breaking everything. The people around me thought that I was hopelessly drunk but actually I had a medical issue. My doctor thinks that my heart stopped beating momentarily. Regardless, the staff and patrons at Mike’s were SO NICE to me and I truly appreciate their concern and care. Don’t worry: most of the people at Mike’s are not falling apart like I was that night… just know that they are great folks!

I absolutely love Mike's place. The patrons are solid, the help are amongst the friendliest/coolest crew around. The bar is very accommodating in every way. Mike's became a second home for me and is truly one of the last of a dying breed. I highly recommend just one visit there and you'll keep coming back.

Mikes place is such a great venue! The crowd is always welcoming, and friendly. Prices are decent, bartender Liz is great, and the owners are awesome! I’m the host there and I produce a weekly open mic and I just started a monthly showcase! I was so lucky with finding this gem! Keep up the good work joe and mike and thank you for allowing me to do what I do as an entertainer!

My husband and I were in town from Texas to attend our friends’ wedding. We are avid football fans and wanted to watch some games on Saturday. We found Mike’s Place on Yelp, so we decided to give it a try. Hands down, this is the best bar in San Jose. We immediately felt like family. The atmosphere was friendly, the bartenders were top notch, and Mike is a friend for life. And they served streak, chicken and shrimp that was delicious. I had to fly back on Sunday, but my husband was staying until Monday. He found his way back to Mike’s Place on Sunday for another round of football, and they graciously put on the Cowboys game for my husband. We think Mike is a keeper even if he’s a Niners fan. You should definitely give this place a try. You won’t be disappointed.

A rather small bar the patriots are good the bartender, Dave not so much He needs to work on his people skills ie; if you don’t have ingredients to make a drink, let the person know if you see a beautiful woman and you’re working you’re working you’re not hitting on them.

Since the new owners changed to old Almaden bar this place has gone to crap. The new owner is rude as hell. Takes your name off the board for pool and reserves half the bar for her friends. I’ve never been in a more unfriendly bar in my life. if you’re looking for a good time, go anywhere but here

They kept on letting people in. There wasn't a dance floor so everyone decided to dance in front of our table. Some people were clearly overserved. My friend got an elbow to the face from another person because it was over crowded. We will not be back because they didn't care how many people they crammed in.

I was Over-served alcoholic drinks and Blacked Out!!! Then I was told I had to leave!! I was so confused that I asked to be Itaken to Good Samaritan Hospital!!! My bill came 2 over $100!!! I want see my itemized bill and I want to see my itemized Bill!!! And I want my charger back!!!!
