Today the wife and I have been resting from being sick with the new flu strain. We ordered the beef pho and it was absolutely amazing. Full jam packed of flavor and great noodles,beef,onions,cilantro,and broth. The basil was fresh. Southbury lacks soup places and its nice to have a place that helps. We love pho Vietnam in Danbury because of the chicken beef broth combo. Glad to have finally tried sonnys pho. Great job and please always have as an option. Would like to have there once better.
An absolute gem of a lunch and dinner spot. Salmon was cooked to perfection. I write about 1 review a year and this one was deserve it.
Every experience I have had at Sonny’s Has been extremely pleasant. The staff is inviting and friendly and the food is top-notch. Highly recommend!!!

Why anyone would decide on a chain fast food when this place exists is beyond me! Stopped in for a quick lunch and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food and how GOOD it was! I ordered the Brassworks Special Grinder with Grilled steak, twice cooked pork belly, jalapeños, cucumbers, cilantro, pickled carrots, pickled onions, spicy mayo & avocado sauce. This lunch now haunts my hunger cravings until I can make it back here and order it again!
I was visiting my sister in Southbury and after reading some great reviews we decided to give this spot a try. We ordered takeout and got Pan Fried Dumplings, Spicy Egg Rolls, Teriyaki Chicken Grinder and Spicy Tuna Avocade Roll. Everything was fresh, had a great flavor and I thought the portions were perfect. We enjoyed all the food we ordered. I would recommend this place and we all will be back.

I just had a steak teriyaki grinder which was very good. The staff was very pleasant. I'll definitely be back. There are a few tables, but I took my grinder to go.

My partner and I got the KBBQ steak and cheese grinder and the habachi shrimp grinder - both were really good! Glad we got a side of avocado sauce cuz I think it complimented the KBBQ well. The staff was friendly, the place was empty besides us (on a Tuesday afternoon), and the food was perfect. Would definitely come back and recommend to others! 10/10
A very quiet and relaxing spot with very nice and awesome workers. I got the chicken ramen and it was delicious and the chef shared with us that it is a family recipe. Amazing food, all came out at the same time, amazing worker: 5/5 :)
I got lunch here with my two siblings on a random afternoon. We walked in, there was only one other person sitting in the restaurant. I ordered the shrimp grinder, my sister got the chicken Ramen, and my brother got the tuna poke bowl, and we also got the Vietnamese spring rolls. All the food tasted fresh and delicious and refreshing. The atmosphere was nice and chill and calming. I highly recommend for a nice lunch or dinner.
My mom and I were looking for lunch on a whim in Southbury, and decided to pop into Sonny’s since I had heard good things. Convenient counter-service style restaurant with a great menu. The Asian style sandwiches are so unique, and we enjoyed the steak teriyaki one! Delicious summer rolls, dumplings, and chicken yakitori as well. The staff member behind the counter was attentive throughout the meal, bringing us napkins and utensils, and even offering to clear our trash. This was exactly what we were looking for and was a nice, quick lunch. We would definitely come back!
Food is great here! Service is great as well. Very fresh and clean food, the portions are amazing for the price; please don’t listen to the bad reviews this place is great! @ the owners, Don’t change keep going!!
Sonny and family are fantastic. The value is insane, and the quality of the food is top notch. So happy to see him in Southbury after years of feeding my family from the truck!
Checked out Sonny’s because I love Korean food and this did not disappoint. Five stars for sure. I ordered the Korean Pork over noodles salad. It was amazingly good. Everything was so fresh and had just right amount of spiciness for me. Flavor was right on the mark. Will be going back often to try the other Korean dishes. The staff was so nice and the place itself is spotless.
Definitely 5 stars! Today I checked out Sonny's Asian Grinders & More in Southbury, in the plaza across from Shop Rite/ Home Goods on Main St. South. I got the Korean BBQ Pork Noodle Salad. Grilled marinated pork, rice noodles, mixed greens, avocado, cucumber, cilantro, pickled carrots, & onions with wasabi yuzu dressing. Everything was fresh and done to perfection. I often don't eat out because my stomach gets upset if high quality ingredients aren't used. I'm happy to report that all day I felt great. I highly recommend this place and wish Sonny a lot of success! If you're in the area, be sure to check it out. You won't be disappointed.
I will stay away from the pho in the future. The broth was great, and most of the other ingredients were good, but they used broken wheat spaghetti instead of the traditional rice noodles.
Interesting choice of cuisine. I enjoyed the kbbq steak and cheese grinder, and the BBQ spring rolls. Employees were chill and friendly. This is mostly my fault for not using the bathroom at the theater after my movie but I needed to go once I got to the restaurant. One of the bathrooms were gross, but the other one with the changing table was in better shape. That, and the tall price of $33 for a grinder and two things of spring rolls. Then again its southbury full of loaded retirees and wealthy young families so I should not be shocked.
I can rate as a FAIR the food wasn’t good but wasn’t bad either. Plenty parking , we arrive 5:00 pm said Hi no answer. The food can be great but staff make whole experience bad , food took like 35 min. We told the guy bring everything together include appetizer , he did the opposite. Appetizer pork egg rolls (4) My husband ordered bbq Korean and cheese grinder, me hibachi shrimp salad, kid chicken tenders and fries. Egg rolls small size less than my fingers $7 . Grinder was ok husband like it , wasn’t great but good . My salad was ok shrimp taste ok. Look like fresh salad . Sauces taste bad $52.00 include ice tea and 2 Thai ice tea. Husband get grinder first , so me and my kid wait 20-25 min after for get our food. The server apologize. Chicken and fries in my opinion was more great than our food, looked more delicious. My kid love it . Restaurant has potencial but need a little extra effort for employees. Food need improvement
The place smells like a old catering hall. The food was trash, pad thai made with some cheap jared chili sauce, questionable chicken. And coke soda that tasted like old dishwasher soap. A truly disgusting experience!
