I don’t even know where to start with The Embassy Diner. The atmosphere, the food, the service were all top notch. Seated immediately, menus, water placed and asked if we wanted coffee before even sitting down. Stellar!!! This was my first time here, I live in Bayside but have a doctor right across the road and have been saying for a long time that I want to stop in as they are decorated to the nines for every holiday. Valentine’s Day did not disappoint!!! Whenever I try a new diner, the main orders are always a turkey club and a cheeseburger deluxe platter. Husband said the burger was excellent and was charbroiled. Nothing beats the taste of a charbroiled burger. I have had many turkey clubs and I have to say usually 80% of the time the turkey is dry and tasteless or bacon undercooked and chewy. Not At embassy it’s not. The turkey was moist and seasoned perfectly and the bacon done just right. Even the toast was toasted exactly how I like it. Coffee was hot and delicious. Place hopping and everyone was happy. I noticed onion rings on the plate of another table and they looked absolutely amazing. Huge and definitely not the skinny gross frozen ones. When we were leaving we met the owner and he was a super nice and friendly man who thanked us for coming. I have followed them on Facebook and can say that his smile is a big in person as it is on social media. Definitely looking forward to going back soon!!! Many more things to try. Next time we will do a nice diner dinner. Also looking forward to trying a cocktail. Yes they have a cocktail menu too!!! If you haven’t been, you must go!!! Hempstead Turnpike in Bethpage convenient to the major highways!!!
I had the hardest month of my life and this soup was by far the best thing to happen to me this month I shit you not this is the best matzah ball soup you will ever have in your life I called them after to let them know please go there and treat yourselfs!
Great experience saw Gus on fb took a ride and he greeted us as we entered! Food was excellent and so was service. Priced perfectly. Go enjoy!
Came in to celebrate my BFF birthday and had a wonderful brunch with our friend Amy. The food was really good and the service was excellent! Joe Saladino was there and I spoke to him for a few minutes. Henry was one of our servers and he was very nice. The place has great decorations for St. Paddy’s day and I hear they decorate for all the holidays…
Mom had a life saving surgery at the hospital and i decided to stop in after barley eating for days. Took me a little while to pick what to eat as I was still in alittle shock at the time. They were so nice to me and caring. Never pushed me to hurry and the food was amazing. Somethings in life are just destine for greatness and this is one of them. Felt like I was around family rather than in a diner.
200% I recommend Embassy diner. The owner and the staff were so gracious and giving when we went for dinner last night. Also, I had to thank him in person for his contributions to the community and recognizing all of our law-enforcement on 911 when he did a beautiful tribute with drones. These are the types of businesses I choose to support because not only do they recognize their patrons as more than patrons, but us patrons recognize them as respectful, giving and hospitable entities in our community. A perfect seamless match. Also, the decor and entire visual setup of the diner is completely nostalgic and inviting; it is impossible not to love. Enjoyed my meal . As well as the complimentary dish they served without even asking . Thank you Embassy Diner! We appreciate you and will be telling all of our friends even if they are not local to visit your fine establishment. Love Sara and family
Loved the food. We had a chicken ceasar wrap and a fresh dip. Always on top of refills for our coffee. Nice music playing from the 80s. Lots of Valentine's decorations. Owner Gus is super friendly.
This is what I've been looking for! A great diner experience! The whole place was decorated for valentines day, which just added a special atmosphere to the experience. The waiter was excellent; friendly and attentive. The food was delicious. I had the Embassy Pretzel Burger and it was fantastic. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be returning!
Always constant great meal. It’s typical dinner food, but always good. The real reason we come, They have the best decorations, my 6 year old with Autism, calls it the CHRISTMAS DINER, we pass by 12 diners on our way to Embassy Diner… Also, The public sees what you do for the community and we love it. We will continue to support you and love your place, keep up the great work!
This is an awesome diner that not only is welcoming, personable and festive but they are not afraid to openly stand up for the police officers and American constitutional values which is what is lacking in the younger generation. Also the chicken parm panini was one of the best things I've ever had at a diner. overall an amazing establishment I can't wait to go back to
Great people, great Diner. Extensive menu with many new items. Been going here for years with my family, tonight was patrioticly perfect though. My military daughter just got home from an extended deployment. When nobody could agree on where to go eat, I mentioned the "embassy"? Everyone was 100% in, especially my daughter. No diner's where she was. Patriotic themed dining, fast courteous service. Highly recommend.
Has to be the best diner on long island. Gus and everyone are wonderful. The food is good. Portions are big too. Nice friendly bunch here. Its always a pleasure coming here. The decorations are out of this world. Gus, is the sweetest man.
Despite being super busy on a sat night, I am so impressed with how this restaurant managed and ran so efficiently. We had a large group with half being kids. Initially we were hestitant but happy we waited because the service was just impeccable. They passed out appetizers while the customers waited and once we sat down- bread was already at the table. Sure enough our kids plotted down and chow on those quickly! The food was a tad salty but i didnt mind it given how how great the staff was here. Friendly and felt like a family. Also the inviting music and decor was just icing on the cake.
I have never met a food establishment and ownership where they make the customer feel like family. Every question and concern was addressed immediately without hesitation. The food is held to a certain standard of quality that you can always expect when you come in for a casual omelette or dinner. Thank you Gus for your hard work and family oriented diner. It does not go unnoticed by the community.
This diner stands out from down the road with the bright lights and the amazing decor they put up. The food was perfect and the portions are huge. I ordered the pumpkin pancakes and a chicken teriyaki wrap both I highly recommend. The waitress was super nice and attentive and was able to answer questions. The whole vibe inside is just amazing.
The Embassy Diner That Stands Alone If you’ve lived on Long Island long enough, you know diners are practically a way of life. But The Embassy Diner isn’t just another stop for late-night eggs or a quick cup of coffee—it’s the gold standard of what a diner should be. From the outside, its iconic glow welcomes you like an old friend, and the moment you step inside, it’s pure comfort: warm booths, polished counters, and servers who treat you like family whether it’s your first visit or your hundredth. The menu? Endless, but never overwhelming. Embassy takes diner staples and makes them memorable—fluffy pancakes that melt in your mouth, crisp Belgian waffles piled with fresh fruit, and burgers stacked so high you need two hands and a plan. The Greek specialties, from spanakopita to gyros, feel like they came straight out of a family kitchen, while the dessert case gleams with cheesecakes, layer cakes, and pies that are impossible to resist. What makes Embassy truly unforgettable is the energy. At any hour, you’ll find a mix of families, night owls, and regulars swapping stories over bottomless coffee. There’s a rhythm here—part tradition, part community—that makes every visit feel special. On an island packed with diners, The Embassy Diner is the one people talk about, return to, and remember. It’s not just a meal—it’s an experience, and a piece of Long Island!!
The transformation is real! I went to the Okinee diner 5 years ago. I came back and was told they bought over the Embassy Diner so we came here. Here is what you need to know: 1 super patriotic place supporting America with tons of flags and pictures of first responders all over the establishment 2 the food is fresh and fast and the quality is worth the money 3 they support local businesses and they know their customers. Multiple people came in and knew the workers and owner by name. The owner is very personable. This is THE diner to visit if you want a real experience with great food!
Food Photos: are of of the Chicken Carbonara, mashed potatoes, salad, and French Onion soup. The French onion soup was slightly more brothy and less thick and needed a dash of salt to perk it's flavor up. Amostphere photo:The atmosphere is filled with lots of American flags and other American Memorabilia. Upon walking in to the Diner we were immediately greeted with a jolly attitude by 1 older fellow with a beard before being greeted by a jolly heavier set man. On the day we decided to visit they were celebrating their "3 - Year Anniversary", I am assuming with the current owners, as I remember eating here 20 years ago. Overall the environment and staff were very friendly and had a positive attitude. Food was as expected from a diner, although the French Onion soup tasted like it may have been a rushed batch, possibly due to preparing for the 3 year anniversary. I am assuming the soup I ordered was just an off batch compared to a usual batch. The rest of the food was very delicious according to my partner.
So everything started off well, we were a party of 6 and got a table quickly even though they were quite busy. We started off with the traditional Cole slaw and pickle which were very good. All of our orders did arrive except for one so most of us started eating. After the last order arrived, a long black hair was noticed sticking up from the food. We had that meal replaced by something different. I know that kind of thing sometimes happens but it just ruins all the good things. The food tasted good, the portion sizes were also good. The waitress later brought out a couple of extra desserts, gratis from the owner as an apology. * Bottom line... Food was ok, prices were reasonable, atmosphere was good and yes we would visit again.
The Embasy Diner is a classic diner. The attention to detail is outstanding. The atmosphere is amazing. As the seasons and the time of year change, so too does the backdrop inside and outside change. The service is top knotch and you will not be disappointed. The meals are of what you would expect from a diner. We have never been disappointed. So, go, bring your appetite, and enjoy yourself in the very busy establishment. 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
As a teenager and uptil my late 20s I used to patronize this diner quite frequently. I found out that this place had new owners 3 years ago so didn’t expect much. I do like the patriotic displays etc but the staff seemed a little odd. Some looked like they didn’t want to be there. Wait staff looked angry. We were taken to out booth and I asked to be seated somewhere else. The person who brought us to the new spot just threw the menus on the table and said ‘here’. Courtesy lost. When seated they brought us bread and a ‘complimentary’ dish of rice and some meat thing. I asked what it was and the server just walked away. The waitress finally came and explained it and we thanked her and asked for it to be taken away. When I ordered the pasta they sent me the right sauce but the wrong pasta. When they do not have fettuccine they should mention it. They brought linguine with Alfredo. That is not right. Overall I felt like they were trying to show this attitude that either we don’t belong there or they were doing us a huge favor to serve you. I still tipped the waitress as she finally warmed up at the end. I would like to imagine this would help them get better. I would patronize only after I hear something positive. I was not happy.
Pleasant, patriotic themed diner. Accessible ♿️ via rear entrance. Nicely decorated decor, with lots of interesting photos in the back. Very clean, nice counter, decent service. But the food was run of the mill. Bacon was mostly fat. Home fries were nothing special. Plenty of parking in front and rear.
