Went for brunch and it was delicious! Lots of veggie and gluten free options which is great. Staff were super friendly and helpful and the yurt itself is awesome. Highly recommend!

Went for brunch and had scrambled eggs with smoked salmon on sour dough, and it was perfect, presentation and taste. Service was friendly, and the atmosphere of the yurt was warm and welcoming. Highly recommend!

Great service, beautiful setting. I ate sourdough with avocado, poached egg and pea shoots (£9.50, April 2022). Delicious! Free parking.

We had a really nice dining experience. I had to cheese soufle which was nice because we don't see a lot of Souflees on menus. And the soup was nice , flavourful and filling. Great service and not too expensive. Thank you

Lovely place for lunch. Chill atmosphere, yummy food. Great vegetarian options. Their chips were to die for. Can't wait to go back 💕

Such a fab place for brunch and something ‘different’ too. A warm welcome (from waitress & fire!), lovely menu, great food, very nice setting. Can’t fault the experience and will be returning.

As soon as I entered the Yurt, I was made feel very welcomed by members of the staff.I had a latte which was very nice and the barista put much effort to make the drink and I had a croissant which was very delicious. Atmosphere very nice , food tasty and impeccable service. Will come back

Delicious food and a gorgeous atmosphere. The dessert I had was divine. Mains were flavoursome and came with perfectly garnishing. Drinks are also reasonably priced.

We drove over 30-mins to have breakfast here, and it didn't disappoint! Our greeting was lovely, in fact the service was exceptional! The food is beautiful, made with quality ingredients. The yurt has a dynamic but cosy atomsphere - no complaints!! Great stuff

Made the discovery the Yurt a few weeks back, would recommend to anyone looking for a nice country stop. Fancy new yurt is definitely worth a visit.

What a beautiful place, with amazing food! Who knew something special like this could be in the middle of a garden centre? I love how their food is so thought out so it's not just delicious, but also ethical and locally sourced. They also made a special effort to celebrate the birthdays we were celebrating, which was an additional and special effort

I took my partner for a birthday lunch. It was a warm day so, despite the yurt looking an amazing place to dine, we opted to sit outside. The outside seating is basically next to the garden centre - don't be put off by this, it made for a very lovely dining experience. Staff were great, pleasant and attentive without being pushy. All very relaxed and casual. It was reasonably quiet although we did book a table but could easily have just turned up for a lunchtime service. Food was excellent. A limited menu but they did have a lunchtime set menu which was particularly good value. Everything thing was tasty, service was prompt, food was very nicely presented. It was. the perfect lunchtime birthday treat and we will definitely be returning especially as it is only 30 minutes from where we live.

Quite a unique location, very warm and original. We tried the lunch menu, everything was acceptable, nothing extraordinary, but good. The pheasant was a little bit dry. The chocolate ice-cream for desert was so so. That's why just 4 stars for food The service was very attentive and operative, nothing to complain about.

Lovely place to eat/hang out. Cosy, bright and warm yurt. We went on a day with beautiful weather so really added to the atmosphere. Great decor, attentive service. Amazing quality food, many ingredients are sourced locally. I had a "posh" bacon bap and mocha. Surprisingly filling, so great value for money. Would recommend and go back. It's also in a garden centre so had a walk around as well.

The best food in Oxfordshire! We've lived in Oxfordshire for 8 years and it's surprisingly difficult to find good food. This food was the nicest we've ever had and such reasonable prices! Staff were lovely and very attentive. Cannot fault anything! Will definitely be returning and recommending everyone we know to come here!

We went for lunch yesterday and it was a fabulous experience. The Yurt is a lovely setting and the staff are friendly and attentive. We can’t fault the food, it was all really tasty and well presented. Lots of dishes made with seasonal local produce.

Thoroughly enjoyed a three course meal with a large group. We ordered a variety of dishes, all of which were good. I had the salmon plate starter, roasted courgette with tempura main and for desert, a chocolate delice with raspberry sorbet (divine!). The service from Inga and the other waitresses was very attentive, with dishes timed very well between each course. Some of us had dietary restrictions and the chefs advice was helpful in choosing certain dishes. For a 3 course meal including two rounds of drinks, ~£40 per head was very reasonable. Additional information - Plenty of parking space on-site and very clean, almost spotless toilets. Advice to owners - you need to open during the evening! The yurt has a cosy ambience, which, paired with a cold winter night I feel would complete the experience.

Went to celebrate my friend's birthday. The setting is glorious. The menu is small but perfectly formed. They take local and foraged ingredients and create magic on a plate. I will be back!

A lovely location and atmosphere for a bite to eat. The food was fresh and very appetising. Portion sizes were very good. Highly recommended 👌

Really good food at a reasonable price. The venue is quirky being a yurt (tent thingy) that's part of a garden centre. It's a venue worth a visit.

What a beautiful breakfast spot! We were in the area visiting a friend and discovered the yurt on our search for some breakfast. Beautiful, comfortable and warm inside with a great menu calling on local producers. Food was well priced and delicious. Presentation was amazing as well. Also had a delicious coffee. Shame we won't be able to visit there again for a while! Highly recommend!!

Came here on a recommendation. Used OpenTable to book. Tricky to find a good slot. Not disappointed and Chloe was amazing. Excellent wine pairing. We originally sat inside but moved outside as a lovely, sunny day. Started with shared dips. So tasty. Then mushroom soup (tried to get the ingredients but failed) and cheese soufflé. Delicious. Then scallops and lamb. Not together. Had fries on side. They do have ketchup but no mayonnaise nor vinegar nor mint sauce (I just love mint sauce and lamb). Desert was sticky toffee pud. Amazing . Some weird revues but we enjoyed it. Service was sporadic as we were outside. Suggest you add a service charge as well and please take Amex!!

We had the dog with us so ate in one of their little “sheds” it was such fun! The food was great and the service was fab too. Actually the whole place is amazing with some stunning pieces for the garden. Really high-end. Well worth a visit (and worth going back to again afterwards!)

Lovely brunch in beautiful location. Good food, but not the best coffee (I had a Latte, it was a little too bitter - not great if you like unsweetened speciality coffee).

We have been to The Yurt a few times now and it doesn't disappoint ever. Today was no different. The staff are attentive and friendly, they seem to be having a great time time too and this comes through in their service. The food was beautifully presented and everything had been thought about, each part of each course went together perfectly. Great time had by all today. Also, on previous occasions we have taken the dogs and they are made very welcome.

For the third year in a row, 50 Members, Relatives and Friends from the Jaguar Enthusiasts' Club's Oxfordshire Region went to the Yurt for their Xmas Lunch on 9th December 2025. Everything was simply excellent and everyone went away very, very happy, well fed and looking forward to next year's grand lunch, when we are confident that we will fill it even fuller !! We had a great time and amazing lunch at the Yurt. The chicken and fish were absolutely incredible, and home made ice cream was delicious, friendly staff and cozy atmosphere ❤️

We were staying in the area on a weekend away and found this restaurant via a quick search online looking for lunch. We were blown away by the whole experience, from the impressive location ( in a garden centre in a sleepy village) to the fact it's in a Yurt itself! We were met by friendly staff and enjoyed an amazing plethora of dishes that were sustainable, local and tasty. Highlight was the monkfish scampi and the duck leg for main followed by an amazing pumpkin dessert. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and there was a log fire roaring in the corner which added to the experience. Whilst not from the area we will be adding to our future journeys to pop in if ever passing again.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Yurt at Nicholsons. Nestled within a beautifully maintained garden and plant centre, this unique restaurant offers a charming and cozy atmosphere that is perfect for any occasion. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, ensuring that we felt right at home. The yurt itself is wonderfully organised and surprisingly cool, even on a warm day. The rustic yet elegant decor adds to the overall charm, making it a delightful place to enjoy a meal. The menu is thoughtfully curated, featuring locally sourced ingredients and a variety of delicious options. Each dish we tried was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The attention to detail and creativity in the food truly stood out. Whether you’re a fan of traditional British cuisine or looking for vegetarian and vegan options, there’s something for everyone.

What a fantastic venue! We visited for lunch, and had the courgette and pea tagliatelle with a glass of wine. The quality of food was excellent and you could tell how fresh the dish was. The chips were also very tasty! It was a lovely relaxed atmosphere in the yurt and the waiters and waitresses were attentive and made lots of effort to make sure we had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend and can't wait to visit again!

We came to the Yurt for a post-Christmas treat to each other and had a most wonderful time. The staff were helpful, polite and charming, recommending dishes and allowing us time to decide ( a tough choice as everything sounded delicious!). It really was some of the best food I’ve eaten in a restaurant for a long time.

We come to the UK once a year to visit family in the Oxfordshire area, and the Yurt has been one of our regular breakfast/brunch places for many years. Fabulous setting, really creative dishes, and lovely service. Absolutely with a visit.

Such a lovely and very cosy place to have lunch. Great atmosphere, attentive staff and very delicious fresh food. I must mention how absolutely amazing the staff are with my food allergy. As a coeliac, I am always very anxious eating out, but the menu has clear allergy symbols and the staff were so helpful and lots to choose from. In all, a very lovely experience. I will definitely be back.

Why travel to the yurts of Asia? Save yourself the travel like we did, and relax in this nicely furnished yurt in the Oxfordshire countryside instead! Heated by a smokeless stove (very welcome on a cold January day!) we enjoyed our way through well-designed and presented food pairings, made from perfectly seasoned locally-sourced ingredients with moreish sauces. We had a very enjoyable meal for 4, with attentive service and reasonable prices including an excellent set menu; you can see why this place is well-liked. It deserves its place in the Michelin Guide. We were there to celebrate my wife's birthday and it was great to see what a family-led business is delivering in collaboration with local farmers, and was well worth our visit. The handcrafted birthday treat was a perfect complement to coffee, but all the more pleasurable when you learn how the business is investing in and fostering projects for women and the environment at home and abroad. Bravo team, we'll look forward to a future visit!

Called in for lunch with my wife. We decided to eat outside the Yurt. We both ordered salads.. the raw roast beef with salad and onion chutney, and the smoked chicken with mango salad. The beef salad was lovely with large portions of raw sliced beef and a delicious salad which was complimented by stilton and the chutney. The chicken salad however, was bland with just a few tasteless slices of chicken and an equally tasteless mango salad. The only taste was from.the salad with the dreadful spriggs of coriander smothering the lettuce and radishes. Treadful taste. I ended up leaving most of the salad as it was to over powering. Please be mindful, coriander is not to everyone's taste and therefore should be an option.

If you fancy something a bit different then give this place a go. Home cooking and a terrific atmosphere will greet you. A bit ambitious in their pricing won't make it a regular but as a one off every now and then with stress free parking its well earned its four stars.

food is fantastic, fresh local seasonal ingredients perfectly cooked, favour combination is excellent and well balance. Please go if you have are near by.

We were gifted a “breakfast with hot drinks for two” gift voucher for Christmas by a family member who likes to gift us experiences. We really enjoyed our breakfast and can’t fault the food or service. Our only criticism would be that the voucher wasn’t for “breakfast with hot drinks for two”, it was a monetary value instead. We had no issue with topping up the voucher to cover the full bill, but it took away from the treat element that was intended and I’m not sure the voucher would have been purchased if this were made clear when purchasing.

Eggs Benedict was good but the granola bowl can with liquid milk not yogurt as described and was inedible. No service once food served. Such a shame as first visit was far better!

My prev negative review was deleted. Why? Reposting. This place was so underwhelming. On entering a very sweet young waitress approached me with good manners. Then the boss appeared (man) and asked if I had booked a table (I was solo) and it was mid week. The place was empty. I sat outside with my dog as no dogs allowed inside the yurt. Ordered focaccia which was literally dried bread accompanied by awful dips. Also ordered french fries with skins on. They were literally frozen chips from a packet. The hot chocolate was nice though but I left the food . The garden centre was unappealing too. Will not be returning.
