Great ski-trip dinner spot. Pizza + apps (potato skins, cheese sticks) were good, service was fast and friendly, and the vibe was fun. Reasonable prices. Will come back next time I’m in Big Bear.

Great experience. Called in ahead of time then picked up to take out. Dining room appeared pretty full and lively. Pizza was delicious and priced fairly.

Took food to go, loaded with toppings almost more than ever, fluffy crust. Very tasty sauce!! I really liked the Hawaiian and pepperoni. My friends loved the BBQ chicken.

I entered Maggio's on 1/6/26 to place a last-minute order to feed 10 people. I ordered a tray of spaghetti with meatballs, a tray of fettuccine alfredo with chicken and garlic bread. They were very accommodating and the food was DELICIOUS. Very friendly staff. I will definitely return to their restaurant on my next trip to Big Bear.

Amazing place the food felt home made and my family all LOVED the food. My teen who's picky as it gets even said it was the best pizza she'd ever had. The manager came out and gave us a free dessert cause he over heard we had a birthday at the table. Great place!

Great food, great people and an amazing experience. My husband and I went on our first date at Maggio's 12 years ago. We just took our son there for the first time and loved the pizza. We make it a point to come to Maggio's everytime we are here.

Order at the counter and they bring it to the table. The first night I had the carbonara and though the bacon was a little hard. It and the dish was very flavorful. The 2nd night we had a pizza with: feta, olive oil, sun dried tomatoes, tomatoes, basil and artichoke hearts. There was probably more too. It was delicious!!!

I was craving pizza so popped in here for a bite. Clean cute restaurant. You place your order at the counter and they bring it to you when it’s ready. I had a Caesar salad, which was delicious. Dressing was amazing. Nice and cold and fresh lettuce. Then I had a two topping pizza with green bell pepper and onion and the crust was perfection. Nice and crispy but still a bit chewy! Toppings were fresh & marinara sauce was delicious. Friendly efficient service. Yum.

Celiac / Gluten Free Review Safety Level: Medium Risk (high level of cross-contamination, knowledge about gluten, some training) Accommodations: Separate Prep Area: No GF menu or labeling: Yes Staff knowledge: Fair Other notes: They do have gluten-free items but it is all a shared kitchen and there is flour everywhere. However they were super accommodating and let me ask lots of questions. The staff recommended going with one of their pasta options if I was concerned about cross contamination because that would be safer. Which was a nice option. For the pizza they cook it on its own wire mesh in the shared pizza oven. I asked for them to grab ingredients from the back and not from the line because you can see people grabbing dough and putting their hands in the cheese. Which they were willing to do. I also went and double checked to make sure they would use a clean pizza cutter. Which they said they should already be doing that but he would check. Overall I think ordering the pizza was definitely risky that I decide to give it a shot. What I ordered: Small gluten-free pepperoni and olive pizza. Review: One of the better gluten-free pizzas I’ve had! Gluten-free crust is usually a little cardboardy and this one leaned more towards bread with just some cardboard. They definitely go heavy on the toppings which was great and it was really cheesy. Would I return? Yes

This is a great restaurant, located in a shopping center, near the Vons supermarket. We chose this place for its convenience to the condo we were staying in, and I'm glad we did. There are plenty of tables for eating in. We were given menus and told to find a table. We soon discovered we needed to order at the counter. Our order consisted of the Mexican Spaghetti and the Taste of Italy Trio. The spaghetti dish was delicious. It is made with Italian sausage, chicken, scallops, shrimp and imitation crab covering a large portion of Spaghetti, all covered with your choice of white or red sauce. The Trio consisted of large portions of meat Lasagna, Fettuccini Alfredo and cheese Ravioli. Both dishes were excellent. After ordering, someone brings the food to your table. At the end of the meal, they offered to-go boxes, which we needed. Our food was prepared well, and the staff was friendly. This will be on our list to come back to, on our next trip to Big Bear.

This place never disappoints. I've learn to only get one dish and share it because they have large portions. My favorite is the Mexican Spaghetti......its loaded with sausage, shrimp, Scallops and more, the sauce is a but spicy but really delicious. I've had the pizza and meatballs here in the past. Everything is delicious. Thank you Maggio's.

My wife and daughter really enjoyed the food. I thought the food was skimpy with meat. The meat sauce did not taste at all meaty. The sparce chunks of sausage in the lasagna tasted like vegetarian sausage. I'm sure we'll go back as the women just loved it. I would rather eat elsewhere

Great family atmosphere. Nice and loud, place was packed on a Friday night, food was good, not great but it was good and filling (pizza, wings, salad). Guy at the counter was super patient and helpful....offered Military discount with verification. 🫡

Good pizza and zucchini sticks. Just visiting for the week, read the reviews, all good, and ordered to go. Staff was friendly and courteous! Great pizza!

This is our "go to" spot when we're in Big Bear. The food and service never disappoint. Although it's delicious, Maggio's is WAY more than pizza! The chicken and eggplant parm are the best in flavor and texture. My Hubbie loves the "Mexican Spaghetti." You really need to go with an appetite because the portions are ample. I'm not a soda or sweet drink person, but their automated soda machine has every Coca-Cola product there is. My drink of choice is their chilled cucumber-lemon infused water; super refreshing and aids in digestion. Our favorite server is "Shana" -- She's very welcoming and knows the menu well. The atmosphere is simply casual with a large TV on the back wall. It can be a little noisy at times but that's part of the experience visiting Maggio's.

I ordered house pizza, which wasn't greasy. Veggies on top were uncooked though. I attempted to watch the Winter Olympics and asked 2 workers but both never tried to change channel. The place was somewhat empty so they weren't that busy. The zucchini fries were good and beer was cold. The girl tending the tables could be more enthusiastic--not friendly at all.

Ordered 2 extra large pizzas to go. Both were soggy, wet and slices could not be picked up. Pizza crust was very fluffy. Overall flavor was good but very salty.

Big place, lots of food options, cozy atmosphere, friendly staff. Modern cool beverage dispenser with lots of soda options. Big shortcoming is the food. ex, on a bbq chicken pizza the bbq sauce was barely tastable.. the garlic way overpowered the flavor, was a wet pizza as well (odd), the pasta was pretty plane, nothing special, tough to mess up pizza, but here we are. 0 for 3 on dinners.. Large menu though, possible better dishes..

We ordered 2 pizzas to be delivered. We had to go through Big Bear take out. We promptly received a message that said it would take 1-1.5 hours. It ended up taking over 2.5 hours. When I called they said they were very busy and it would take 2 hours and apologized. It take longer. When we received the pizza, we asked if they had the extra ranch we paid for. The driver said it should be in the box, but he wasn’t allowed to check. We knew it wasn’t in there, because it was 4 oz and that wouldn’t fit usually. The icing on the cake was the pesto primavera pizza had no toppings, just cheese and pesto. After all this I decided to give the service 3 stars because when I contacted Big Bear Take out , they did refund the pizza and ranch. However, eating at 9:30 pm instead of 7:30 pm and the pizza was. It what I ordered was really a disappointment.

I usually don’t hold onto bad dining experiences for years, but this one was so frustrating and so poorly handled that I still remember it like it happened yesterday. Some places earn their reviews the moment you walk out the door, and this was absolutely one of them. My girlfriend and I went after a coworker recommended it, expecting a laid back night with good pizza. We were seated with physical menus on the table, but briefly checked the online menu without realizing their portions and pricing were apparently different. My girlfriend went to the counter and ordered what any reasonable person would assume were a few appetizers. Garlic bread, chicken strips, and onion rings. We also ordered a pizza. Once it became clear those appetizers were actually full sized orders, it was obvious this was an absurd amount of food for two people. No couple needs that much food, and any experienced staff member would have recognized that immediately. When she came back and I saw the bill creeping toward $80, I honestly thought it had to be a mistake. There is no logical reason appetizers plus a pizza should land there unless something was seriously misunderstood. So I walked up to clarify, fully expecting to hear, “Oh sorry about that, let’s fix it.” Instead, I was bluntly told they were full orders. Here is what really bothered me. At no point did anyone pause and say, “Just so you know, that is a lot of food,” or “Those are very large portions.” Nothing. Not even the bare minimum level of customer awareness. It felt like they were perfectly comfortable watching customers walk straight into an expensive ordering mistake. Trying not to make a scene, I sat back down and picked at the absurd amount of overpriced food, but the situation did not sit right with me. I went back up and politely asked if we could get a refund given the clear misunderstanding. The owner was visibly annoyed. Not understanding. Not solution focused. Just annoyed that a customer would question an $80 order. And then came the moment that guaranteed I would never step foot in this place again. The waiter walked over, looking genuinely uncomfortable, cleared the food from our table, and threw it directly into the trash. Perfectly good food. Straight into the garbage. When I asked why, he quietly told me the owner made him do it. You could see he felt bad. Think about that for a second. Instead of offering literally any reasonable middle ground such as a partial refund, letting us keep the food, boxing it to go, or showing even an ounce of hospitality, the decision was to throw it away. It came across as petty, wasteful, and completely devoid of customer care. For the record, I still tipped the waiter well because he handled an awkward situation professionally and was clearly not the one making decisions. I did not walk in trying to get over on anyone. I just expected basic communication and a level of service that any decent restaurant should provide. The overall atmosphere said a lot too. The owner came across as deeply unhappy, and the staff had the kind of tense energy that makes you wonder how they are treated behind the scenes. Whether that is the reality or not, it certainly did not create a welcoming environment. Big Bear has plenty of restaurants run by people who actually understand hospitality. Based on my experience, this is not one of them. I never went back, and I never will. Save your money, save your time, and go somewhere that actually values its customers.

I came here last night with my girlfriend and ordered pizza and a salad. The food itself was fine — nothing amazing, nothing terrible — but about 1–2 hours after eating, We both started experiencing severe stomach pain. Shortly after, We both simultaneously began violently vomiting and I have continued to vomit every hour for the past 5–6 hours. I’m not someone who leaves negative reviews lightly, but this was serious enough that I feel it’s important to say something. We paid for food that should have been safe and edible, and unfortunately that was not our experience. I can’t say with certainty what caused it, but the timing strongly suggests something was wrong with the food. Especially given the fact it wasn’t just one person sick afterwards but, two. I would strongly recommend caution and that the restaurant double-check their food handling and safety procedures before serving more customers. I’m sharing this so others can make an informed decision and so the restaurant is aware of a potentially serious issue.

GOOGLE GIVES THEM HIGHER SCORES THAN YELP. We went for dinner and were greeted promptly by a nice guy who sat us and informed us we need to order at the bar(noticed other reviews said they didn't do this). Okay cool we discuss and order and get to conversation. We realized it had been almost an hour and my buddy went back up to check. Turns out when he was ordering for the group there was a woman who had come in complaining about her order taking forever. It was a phone order and her ticket got placed into the paid stack and it was never made. So rightlty so, she was mad and the high school kids behind the counter absolutely lost their mind because they never had to deal with conflict. Because this place is staffed by baby face freshman, THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO US. During the commotion with the woman, our ticket also got misplaced. They offered us free beer or wings to make up for it. We took the wings and that was a mistake. They were nothing but Tyson bagged wings from Vons next door. Except they didn't taste as good as when you make them at home because you make them correctly at home. Our pizzas came out probably 15 min after the wings and they weren't anything to write home about. The Philly steak was wet and soggy with visible liquid in the center. Like it was rushed because we were waiting for an hour and a half at that point. The house pizza looks like they use the leftovers from the day before and hope the massive amount of ingredients distract you from the mediocrity. Seriously more disappointed than these guys parents. When we were about to leave my wife asked the girl working for a box to take our pizza. She saw we had two XL pizzas and suggested a medium size. We thought she'd bring out two but only had one. When we said something she immediately said "this is just what I was told to bring" even though we could hear the entire conversation before from our table. A completely unnecessary interaction. The best part of my experience here was the bathroom. It's a very stereotypical dark pizza place bathroom that reminds you of the good pizza place you used to go to as a child. My second best part of my experience was leaving.

I recommend coming to Italy and taking pizza-making classes. What we got was apparently a mix of whatever was in the fridge. The carbonara tasted like regular instant pasta. Don't take my comment as disrespect, just take it into account and change. It's not hard. Train your waiters to take orders from guests at the table, rather than "go to the cash register to order," and then stand there and look at you with surprised eyes when you don't leave a "TIP."
