I have lived only a quarter mile away from Piccolo's for 2 years and it was my first time visiting on 1/14/20. I love the smells and sounds of a diner and they fully lived up to my expectations.

The Waitresses and We're Very *Friendly* and *Helpful*; And, They Were Very *Knowledgeable* about the Menu. The Bathroom was Very *Clean* and Nicely *Decorated*, and *Stocked Up*, Well!! And, Everything *Worked* the way it was "Supposed To"!!(*The last Restaurant and Diner I was at, the Bathrooms we're Abit of a *Mess*, and Things Didn't *Work* They Were "Supposed To". They were also "Low" on "Extra" Toilet Paper, Paper Towels, etc.) It was Very *Refreshing*!!:-)

This was my mom's favorite diner in her later years. It started with just me and her going out to breakfast together. Just mother and daughter. Then we shared our place with my son. And even though my mom isn't here anymore, we bring her picture with us every time, so we can still enjoy breakfast together as a family. The employees are like my distant family, and the restaurant reminds me of happier times. Sometimes, I'll hear a song that reminds me of my mom or see a person eating there that resembles her, and i know she is still with us, eating breakfast at her favorite place with her favorite person (my son) 😂 The food is amazing and has that home diner taste and feel. The pancakes are absolutely HUGE and WAY better than Dennys. The coffee is always hot, and the wait staff are so polite and on top of their duties. They care and know their regulars.

If you crave delicious food at a reasonable price, there's none better than Piccolo's. Across from Popeye's Chicken on Main St. in Binghamton, this little unassuming cafe packs a powerful punch of great meals for breakfast or lunch and does it all affordably. The wait staff is great, and the owner is there at the cash register to take your money (provided he's not helping in the kitchen). They recently renovated the table and booth area, and you can still sit at the counter if that's your thing. Bon Appetit!

Before hitting the road home my wife and I were looking for a place to grab breakfast fairly cheap but filling.Our friends we had been visiting suggested Piccolo's and we were happy they did. Very reasonable prices and we both ended up taking most of our omelets home for breakfast the next day. Tiny place and constant stream of diners many of whom I believe are there daily. Staff were very friendly and we got in and out without feeling rushed or overcrowded. Would definitely return for breakfast next trip up.

We decided to eat at piccolo’s cafe on a “spur of the moment” decision & we sure are glad we did! The service was amazing and our food was done in about 10 minutes if that. We had little to no wait time for service and she was so sweet when we met her! The atmosphere was very relaxed and the menu was divine! Very clean as well! We will be visiting here in the very near future!

I cannot say how much I enjoyed this wonderful cafe.. A lot of Fast Food restaurants are cutting back on portions while charging more. Piccolo's give you fantastic portions and quick service and even movie memorabilia on the wall.. The owner was a very nice lady.. And thanks to my friend's, Jim, Michelle and Jeff for the recommendation. (Even the water glasses are large)

Piccolo's offers a nice dining experience with tasty food for decent prices. Make sure you check out their daily specials. They make a tasty chicken and biscuits, and their Liver and onions with bacon is also very good!

Piccolos cafe is a regular price restaurant with a serious lack of style. The food at piccolos cafe is good tasting from what i have had salad, pasta, and turkey clubs. My personal view is the prices are about in line with the going rates for portion sizing. The biggest issue for the restaurant is the meat i have gotten rotten meat that is used in the salads which was resolved but shouldent have never happened to begin with if they maintained a better system. The decor of the building is grungy and dated. A $10.00 yard sale radio sits on the counter to give the restaurant music. If you look at the counter area they still have the old menu board with yard sale pictures in them that are nasty. The final notes to make the customer service which is hit or miss. The waitress are usually stressed and running around do to a poor ratio of customer to help staff. The owner usually sits in the corner not really providing any assistance to the girls who need help or the chef. The old man will check you out upon leaving and doesn't saying anything during this process. Piccolos cafe either needs to update to the modern times or close. The building on the outside is just as bad as the inside which is hard to miss when leaving the old relics of what the building previously was used for an old arby’s.

Nice cafe. Small inside but staff is friendly and service was quick. Breakfast was good had the deluxe omelette. Would eat there again.

Enjoyed this bit of an old school dinner while visiting. Very laidback and friendly. The food was served nice and hot and both dishes that were ordered were extremely good. The tables were a tad sticky and the plates served on were something you would see at grandmas house, but that just meant the food is homecooked and comforting.

My wife started with Chicken Noodle Soup. She like that. I got the chicken fried steak with Fries and a side of chili dog. I was expecting some kind of white gravy on the chicken fried steak but it was ok. Fries were good. Chili dog had to many beans in chili(personal Choice) but otherwise good. My wife got the Philly Cheese Steak and said it was ok. Staff was friendly and place was pretty clean.

Came here after our first choice was closed. Very happy it was. Piccolo's food and service were excellent. Classic Patty melt with just the right amount of greasy and onion grilled with Swiss. Amazing and huge hunk of pot roast in a reduction with mashed.. and the pancakes are huge. Delicious bean soup that I'm still trying to decifer all the flavors that caressed my tongue. Fifth Star ⭐ reserved for a building update..., But staff and food would bring me back anytime.

First time i visited this diner. Wouldnt hesitate to go again. Waitress was friendly and on top of her job. I ordered the cheese ravioli which came with a very good salad. The portion was enough for two but I managed to put it away :) It was loaded with sauce and cheese, the way I like it. Only thing missing was some type of bread product but again- yes it was good and I would go back again.

Great customer service. Watching a dog eating off a table with his family in a restaurant didnt seem very sanitary. I am all for therapy dogs but the dog should probably stayed off the table area.

Have been there twice. Tables are dirty and the ONE waitress is over worked. Its a busy neighborhood diner. Food is good and we enjoy rhe atmosphere. Unfortunately we won't be back due to long waits, just to get a menu and coffee. I hope they find mor staff soon.

Piccolo's is a bit shabby. It's a diner. The menu is very basic. We had breakfast -- French toast. It was nothing special. The coffee was okay. Really not a memorable experience.

I think overall it's a good place but my son took his family today for breakfast and a roach crawled across one of there plates when almost ready to leave they did nothing about it on bill or act like they cared just said ok. we won't be going back and did really like the place before

This place is TERRIBLE. What restaurant have these other reviewers eaten at? The food tasted days old. The table we sat at was sticky and the wait staff did not seem very knowledgeable. Honestly, I've been to a lot of restaurants around Binghamton and this is by far the worst.

Shame on Piccolos Cafe !!!!!! After spending 40 minutes WAITING for our breakfast I asked the owner if he could check on the status of our order. I know it was busy and I was trying to accomidate for that. Two people had come in and were served within 15 minutes. Our waitress finally came to our table and said she was sorry ...our ticket was pushed back! And a few other orders were "switched" around! So what the cooks do is if it is a "quick" order...let's do that first! Needless to say after waiting 45 minutes and they had not even started our order,we left... So bad for business. the owner kept walking by the tables trying to "look" important...what he NEEDS to do is take charge of his restaurant!!!

Horrible experience. Waited 30 minutes for waitress. She never acknowledged us or offered a drink. While we were waiting for her she kept arguing with the cook which could be heard throughout the building. Watched several people get up and leave . They atleast got menus.

They have unruly staff. The least the waitress could do is smile. I noticed the staff treated everyone differently than us , it seemed a little racist. A little pricey. Don't really mind the price if the food is good. Asked for a medium rare steak. It was served in less than 2 min. (Should be an indication that it is definitely not medium rare. It's RARE). felt like a chewing gum. The home fries felt raw. Coffee is free from 6am to 11am. Eggs were cooked to f**k. Lasagna was alright. The chicken soup was good . Egg Benedict was okayish. But the garden omlette was really nice.

Negative star Waitress was on shift today, that was on 2 was back that was a complete embarresmemt to the establishment- The way she verbally attacked a woman and a young lady, almost as they walked in and sat down- after the lady said hello and spoke to owner and other waitress as if she's a regular, they definitely knew her. This outlandish behavior on behalf of the waitress was ridiculous, unnecessary and unprofessional. Then to follow the lady outside to her car after she left, to scream and Halloring and for what..... harassing her didn't do her any good. Few minutes the police showed up to arrest the said waitress. So What does this waitress still Have a Job at this Restaurant for.... Red Head is a sorry excuse for a waitress,very unprofessional bringing her personal life to work regardless of anything g.

I have to give -5 ⭐️. NEGATIVE 5. January 4, 2026. I witnessed the most unprofessional service in my whole adult life life. Customer entered diner friendly, seemed to know the place and possibly been a regular, said hi to everyone, owners as well, and their waitress seemed to enjoy their interaction. There was as a second waitress that had instigated the customer almost from the moment she sat down with a younger customer, maybe her child. She was yelling slander comments and talking about how she shldnt txt someone. Literally screaming from across the diner. Taking orders from her tables, and bringing food to customers and refilling coffees, all while constantly making trips back to this poor customer and the child’s table. Yelling profanities and name calling. It was absolutely absurd! I cldnt repeat all what was said by waitress, the taunting was so malicious and in front of a child and other customers in the diner. It was a full house, customers of all ages and parties large and small. Other people my husband and I cld see were sickened by the action of this red headed waitress and how she was blowing up on an innocent customer by what we cld see. This was ongoing for the entire time I was there trying to eat my meal. The customer vaguely interacted, respect to her. The owner female actually thanked her, as she was leaving out after paying, for not engaging. The reason I’m posting is due to the fact that I returned this past weekend to see the same waitress still having a job at this diner. This girl shld not work in customer service. For the mere fact that she has so little contol of her self, regardless of her personal entities outside of work, that’s no excuse for her to come to work and take it out on anyone else. And for that, I have to say I will not be returning to this establishment.
