Great food and atmosphere and polite staff. The staff needs a third person to keep the line moving though. The juice was incredible but the coffee is very poor and needs a lot of work and more variety. Not the coffee I remember from Colombia!

Pleasant surprise that Juan Valdez is now Aroma and they kept the Columbian vibe and even umped it a notch with a live DJ on Saturday morning! That was a lovely surprise I definitely love the vibe and highly recommend.

Stopped in because I had to wait for my passport to be printed. It’s right across the passport agency and very convenient. Charming atmosphere and clean. Coffee and pastries are delicious with Columbian influence. Staff was very friendly. They have wifi available and it was easy for me to do some work while waiting and enjoying a cup of authentic-tasting coffee. Highly recommend if you are in the area.

The hot chocolate is made with corona and I couldn't ask for anything more Unlike Aroma Cafe, they do not have their full menu of Colombian foods and meals, as they currently lack a kitchen. This means that they are limited to baked goods and soups currently. But I spoke to the employees and they said you could get catering through them. So hopefully I will be able to supply my office with a real Colombian treat

When i go i usually get an iced vanilla latte and it is always amazing. They use Colombian coffee beans I believe. Very nice environment and wonderful staff! The two baterista are very friendly, outgoing, and helpful! Will be back

It's great to have a new place in this area... the options have been limited since COVID... this sits where the old Juan Valdez was... it's also a Colombian place but more homely and overall better... they put a premium on quality... their coffee and baked goods are very good. I recommend you give it a try... I look forward to seeing what more they introduce in the future.

Just happened upon this coffee shop out walking in the area. This was the best coffee experience I’ve had in years. I would consider coming downtown for the sole purpose of enjoying a latte and pastry here.

It is a beautiful, cozy, warm place, the products are delicious, they have exquisite coffee and bakery products that are very much from my region, enough reasons to want to visit this place every time you are traveling through that place, highly recommended!!!

Best coffee shop in DC. I am regular at Aroma Express because of to its high-level quality of products and service. The coffee is always excellent, and the fact they have added social events on a Saturday is a nice touch. Important, the staff are always welcoming and friendly which make for an enjoyable experience.

Great café with an excellent ambiance and choice pastries. All of their beans come from Colombia and feature delicious Colombian pastries as well - all around incredible. This was a great place to work out of for the morning and into the afternoon, comfortable, convenient, and an incredibly welcoming staff make this café an A+.

This place is so good. One of the baristas is this guy with glasses that is a true artist. Holy heck. Great coffee but also seriously they have the best chai latte in the whole city. I am not joking, I don’t know what they do, but it is so perfectly spicy and flavorful. I think about it a lot. The pastries are also so flaky and delicious. Beautiful, clean little space too. I cannot rate the food as I didn’t order any. The coffee was delicious and I enjoyed it while sitting in the sunshine just outside the café. The service was fantastic, as I explained that I had never been in before. Very helpful!

This was a really nice cafe/bakery. The staff pleasantly greets & welcomes you in. 😊 The inside space was chill kind of vibe and was beautifully decorated. 🙌 I purchased something quick bc i wasparked in the snow lane...lol. The pastries are so good, unlike any others I've found and I've been to a lot of coffee shops. Don't miss the cheese bread muffins! The espresso drinks are great too, especially the smaller ones like the cortadito where the fruitiness of the beans they use really comes through. Check it out!

I am from Puerto Rico and my partner is from Cartagena, Colombia. I've been looking for a good colombian place where I can have a good pan de bono. Finally I found this place... the ones that I had before were really bad. I came by myself and let me tell you I loved it. I had a Moccachino and a cheese bread. Omg, amazing! Really nice place for a solo date like I did. The employees were very nice with me. Totally coming back!

I stopped by Aroma Express and had a really pleasant experience. Their matcha latte is excellent—smooth, flavorful, and well-prepared. The staff were polite. They also have some nice options for a small bite, perfect if you want something light to go along with your drink.I’d definitely come back.

I loved this cafeteria. The place is perfectly convenient if you are going to the passport agency. It is Colombian theme and the sweets and savory treats were amazing. The empanadas were not my favorite but everything else we tried, we loved. The place is really pretty and great for a morning coffee.

A bit of a unique coffee shop, coffee was excellent and had a nice offering of breakfast treats that aren’t common to most coffee shops I’ve been too. I grabbed a cheese fritter and an iced americano, they both were delightful. The cafe was very clean, the staff was friendly and helpful, the place also had a solid vibe. Overall I’m glad I stopped here.

It's a nice cozy coffee place. They have the best iced mocaccino drink. It has a good balance of moca sweetness and espresso bitterness. Customer service there is absolutely five star. They make you feel welcomed and care about every order. I will visit again. Because of the location, their busy hours is a bit odd compared to other coffee shops so hope to avoid that hour next time.

I love the OG spot but wasn’t able to visit as often as I like. Now with a DC location, I can get my fix for buñuelos wayyy more!! This is a clean, bright spot with a posh flair. Mostly business people during the week, great food and snacks, delicious coffee; quick grab n go salads, sodas, and Colombian snacks. Staff were friendly and attentive!

This Colombian 🇨🇴 cafe offers the best coffee I’ve had in a while + top notch service! Expensive, yes, but you get what you pay for. Clean, ♿️ accessible entrance and multiple seating options (low and high top tables). Great spot for a coffee date, business chat, or a to-go snack! Muffin de Limón ($3) + Iced Latte ($6) 👍🏽👍🏽 Wish they offered outdoor seating. But there are shady steps 20 feet away on the same block, on F street (see photo). Shoutout to Joshua for being so polite and getting my gender pronouns right ☺️

Wow! Aroma Express is a one-of-a-kind cafe in the Foggy area. While there’s Tatte a flew blocks down, Aroma beats it hands down. It’s an incredible shop, offering natural light, comfy seating, Colombian treats, and balanced coffee. There are plenty of outlets next to every table, so come here for a change of scenery or simple coffee break. The decor and tableware is beautiful too. And the workers are very approachable. While you’re here, make sure to get their dulce de leche pastry. It’s insanely delicious! I wish the owners and their staff the best of luck.

Horrible cheese fritters and cheese bread. Horrible fruit juice (too sweet and changes texture). Worst $10 I’ve spent this month. My friend got an iced cortado and a café con leche and it was worth it! Good coffee.

The place is cool enough, and their pastries looked good. But I ordered a cappuccino that tasted burnt and metallic. As a barista I know that it could mean the beans were over roasted or the coffee grounds were overpacked and thus scorched when they brewed it. So I told them, and I was told that it was because their coffee has a special composition and they use a double shot of espresso to which makes it stronger…. I said every cappuccino I’ve ever had had a double shot and that the ration of espresso to milk wasn’t the problem. But the guy insisted I was wrong and made me a new one with a single shot and more milk… and of course it just tasted like milk. So definitely disappointed with the coffee and the service.

Got a drip coffee with milk. They don't have an option for self serve milk or cream. They forgot my order and then when I asked for milk gave me the equivalent of less than a teaspoon. Not coming back here again.

Espresso tastes like ash

Hours in Google do not corelate. No Hours sign on the door. Closed on weekends? No answer.

Pastries were as dry as cardboard. Corn cheese cake was somehow worse. Cafe con leche had only leche and milo had no milo - and they charge 7 dollars for it. All aesthetic and no substance.

The service was really bad, the ladys in the front didnt know the name of the ítems and what was inside of it. They looked ungry all the time. The food is cold and dry, I had a lot of expectation but, now very dissapointed. I dont recomendación this place.

I ordered a latte. The baristas gave me a cappuccino and insisted it’s the same as a latte and wouldn’t remake my drink. Re-train your employees on the differences between the two.

I was looking forward to trying Aroma Express because I work near by, but unfortunately my food arrived cold, and I wasn’t able to get a refund. I hope they can improve their service in the future.

This was my first—and last—time coming to this coffee shop. I walked in and a Black guy, who was near the register, along with possibly a Latino woman did not acknowledge me at all. In fact, they looked at each other and rolled their eyes when I walked in. No greeting whatsoever. Both were cold and unwelcoming. I approached both of them and had to educate them on customer service—namely, you greet customers when they walk through the doors, not express a cold demeanor. I noted I would write a review governing their actions. There were no other customers at the counter, so there was no excuse not to acknowledge me, especially with kindness. Unacceptable!

I waited around 15 minutes for two cappuccino. Not worth it if you are in rush.

We visited this cafe in early 2024 and remember one gentleman made beautiful Latte Arts for customers but this time when we visited last week, he was not there any more. Ordered same thing but another gentleman made terrible Latte Arts for us. Unbelievably poor quality.

Very disappointing experience. We arrived at 3:30 PM and were told the restaurant was already closed, even though their hours clearly say they close at 4:00 PM. The waitress even mentioned that they close earlier whenever there aren’t many customers — sometimes even before 3:30. That’s completely unprofessional and disrespectful to customers who plan their visit based on the posted schedule.
