We have been coming to Ichiban for about 20 years. We don't come frequently, but each time we have come, the food has been excellent. Tonight, Christmas Eve, we went in for dinner. We sat at the sushi bar, and ordered the Mt. Fuji, the green mussels, the Blue fin tuna sushi, the blue crab roll & baby octopus to start. All were delicious. Luckily, we got those early because Taka, the sushi chef, was working solo, & the restaurant got very busy. We watched as he masterfully prepared all the orders, and there were a Lot! He even made a special plate for a young patron who loves crabmeat. He made the crabmeat spell out LOVE. Special attention to customers is the sign of great service. There may be many sushi restaurants to choose from near Brea, but Ichiban has been here for 37 years. I haven't had a bad meal there yet. Fresh and very nice presentation.

We went as they opened for dinner and were pleasantly greeted and seated immediately. They offered us some edamame as we finalized our orders. We started with some appetizers of karage, salmon and yellow tail sushi and a scallop hand roll. We then ordered two types of cold soba and agedashi tofu with miso soup for dinner. Everything was delicious and the portion sizes were perfect for our dinner. Fish was fresh and the chew on the soba noodle was a great consistency. After we were done with our meal, we were given some eclairs to tie everything together. The service was superb, food was great and value was good for all that we ordered.

I'm so glad we decided to have dinner here. We were warmly greeted when we arrived and didn't have to wait long for a table. The restaurant has a comfortable atmosphere, and every staff member we encountered was friendly and accommodating, and made us feel right at home. We selected a family style dinner served in a boat, and every bite was delicious. It was actually a very good value for the 3 of us, with a great varietyof food! If we lived here we would be regulars, but I'm glad that we at least got to experience this special restaurant once!

A large menu with a lot of variety. You can sit at the sushi bar or get a table. Our favorite is the 3 item combo dinner for around $15. You pick 3 entrees and it also comes with salad and rice and miso soup. Their tempura is always a good choice. The owner usually walks around to make sure his guests are satisfied.

Here's the thing. I have never been here, yet grew up in Brea. Lived here for the last 15+ years and had visited a few of the businesses and the coffee shop right next door. The hours are odd only 5-8PM, so very limited and most likely the reason I never been. But let me tell you. HOW HAVE I BEEN MISSING OUT! This is a quaint little sushi restaurant, very locals only. The people who work there knew almost everyone that came in. First name basis, almost like family. Sushi chef was an absolute king. Wonderful man! Sushi was fresh and delicious. The blue fin toro was certainly affordable, $8 a piece is actually really great. Compared to other sushi spots, this was just the right price. From their sashimi, to sushi rolls, and even Ichiban nachos (crispy wonton chips with spice tuna) we're all reasonably priced and good portions. Definitely my fav spot for sushi in Brea now! The vibes were immaculate as they say. Loved it!

The quality of the food is on point. The volcano roll was to die for! Chicken udon was also very good. The staff is super friendly. They truly made us feel right at home. This was our second visit, def not waiting 4 years for our 3rd!

Well the owner is extremely nice, friendly.I ordered a crunchy roll and honestly I had never had a crunchy roll as bland as this one. I requested some Spicy mayo and they brought me plain mayo and squired hot sauce on top.😡😱

We LOVED this restaurant! After watchingYouTube, my Little Guy wanted sushi. From the moment we walked in to the end, it was like we came to a friend’s house for dinner. The food was fresh and delicious. We ordered miso soup and sushi. The edamame might just have been the best I’ve had. The service was great, too. We don’t live near but we’ll definitely come back when we’re in the area. It’s a great little place for a quiet dinner with friends.

Friendly staff, ample parking, clean and comfortable. Excellent array of sushi and other combinations. The food is served hot, fresh, ample servings and most delicious. We love this place and highly recommend it to others. No to showy or tries to hard to be all that. And that is another reason why we consider it grand.

Ordered the handroll set and the teriyaki chicken dinner. The handroll was delicious and the fish fresh. The rice was good. Unfortunately the miso soup tasted way too salty like the way instant miso does it also had no tofu and was missing some umami taste. For the teriyaki chicken it was dry and they forgot the teriyaki sauce. The salad and dressing it had were good. We ordered takeout and the servers were polite and attentive. The bathroom is in a weird location behind the server station so you have to cross through the back to get there.
