The door staff was friendly. There was about a 30 minute wait. We say at the counter because the wait for a table was even longer. Heather was out waitress and she was so charming and friendly. She was helpful with suggestions for us first timers. We had the Grilled Cheese Benedict, Biscuits & Gravy and two coffees. The benedict was superb. Perfectly poached eggs on a grilled cheese sandwich covered with delicious hollandaise sauce. The biscuits and gravy were good, but not great. The biscuits were awesome, but bacon gravy was too loose for my liking though. At the end we decided to add a cinnamon roll. All I can say is 😱. It was so damn delicious. Get one or ten!
My first visit to Bacon & Butter along with my lil sis . . . Great choice, Michelle! Shared 2 yummy choices for breakfast with my lil sis . . . Cali Burrito and the Pear/Pecans French Toast 😋 I also tried a coffee with peanut butter liqueur . . . It was AMAZING!!!
They're only open till 3 and chances are It's a 1 hour wait to get in, but it is well worth the wait. Every single on their menu is incredible. But I have to admit, I always can't help myself and have to order the grilled cheese benedict. I'm definitely one of the best breakfast places in all of sacramento.
Been to Cali a few times but 1st time visiting this city. Ive noticed prices of course are lower in Texas but not by too much until I came here! Score well deserved as far as taste and service but my goodness how pricey. Over 40 dollars for one person for breakfast, unheard of for me sheesh. The food came out freaky fast though and pear French toast tasted freaky good. Ha! Music selection was great. I don't know if the music is the same daily but it was 70s and 80s rnb this day. Love love love it!
Well well well. So i was excited to see the cinnamon roll on the menu. I ended up going with the kitchen sink sizzling platter with a side of bacon gravy. And of course the cinnamon roll. The roll came first and was warm. It wasnt a traditional raised dough but more a Danish pastry style dough with a little eggy flavor. It had a caramelized sugar on the bottom that was crunchy and delicious. It wasnt like an easy gooey cinnamon roll but more an airy moist roll. The platter was served hot and was well balanced. The gravy seemed luke warm though. Coffee was a little bitter but I also didnt add my usual amount of sugar. The place was busy and I had a seat at the counter. I was given a glass of water right away. Servers were friendly.
There was a 10 minute wait time which was not bad at all, from the prior reviews they are always busy. The decor was inviting. Our server JoBeth was excellent and friendly. We ordered the B& B Burger with fresh fruit. Our food was served piping heat hot. Oh my goodness their reputation precedes them. The food was absolutely delicious from the very first bite and the bacon was amazing! So crunchy. Hats off to the cooks We will be back
Approaching the restaurant for the first time I noticed a nice size parking lot to one side and a school across the street. We pulled up at roughly 12:30 and there were a number of people waiting outside. We waited out front in front of a sign that said to wait here for the hostess. Eventually one came out and set us on the queue which was about a 45 minute wait. When we got inside the atmosphere is very modern hipster diner. It was very busy so there was a lot of noise from conversation but it wasn't enough to dissuade our own conversations. We were sat at the end of the counter and were able to enjoy the holiday decorations and the overall look of the interior. The server took our order and was very polite and pleasant to converse with. We ordered the "Biscuits Bacon and Gravy", the "Grilled Cheese Benedict", and the "Banana Cream Waffle" which honestly came out faster than I expected considering how busy they were. The star of the meal was definitely the waffles but everything was good. The food is good, the service was phenomenal, and the overall vibe was good too. There was table, booth, and counter seating available. Overall, I will be coming here again.
Searching for a place to have brunch and this place seemed to have great reviews. I was concerned about going solo and not being able to get a counter seat, which was the goal. Since a lot of these reviews say it is busy, that seems to vary by time and day, so definitely do your research. I arrived on a Wednesday around 12:30 PM. Few parking spots available. No line. I walked in and was seated right away at the counter, since I was solo. It was definitely busy and lively inside. I ordered a coffee to start. It was just normal regular black coffee with a side of cream/milk. This coffee was $5 and not sure why but that’s a little steep for a cup of regular coffee. I ordered the Avocado Toast and the Bee Pollen to eat. The portions are very large, so be mindful what you order if you will not be able to consume or enjoy it all. The Avocado Toast was delicious. I never had chorizo on it before but I did like it - just not a huge fan of it. I did remove, while ordering, the pickled onions that it comes with. It was quite messy so I found that eating with a fork and knife was best. Overall, it tasted wonderful and I would get it again. Fresh tasting. The Bee Pollen was great. Again, another large portion. It wasn’t entirely too sweet and was excellent to enjoy the many flavors it contained. Also fresh tasting. Hostess was friendly. Server was friendly. Service was quick. Good atmosphere and a lot of conversations happening inside but not unbearable. Open space. I recommend trying this place. The menu is vast and there is something on there everyone would enjoy.
My fiance and I went to bacon and butter this past weekend for breakfast and it was phenomenal. There was a little bit of a wait but it was well worth it. Maybe 30 mins on a sunday afternoon. Our server Jordan was a hoot and the check arrives in these old repurposed books you're encouraged to leave your mark on. It was a 10/10 experience and we can't wait to go back!
We got there right after they opened and there was already a line, but it did go quick. We got the grilled cheese Benedict and the bacon melt, and a biscuit on the side. Both meals were delicious, very rich, and the portion sizes were HUGE. My husband and I easily could have shared just 1 plate and been super full. It can get very loud in there but it was still comfortable. I was also surprised that the coffee was very tasty as well, most breakfast spots have watered down coffee. We got a bacon chocolate chip cookie to go, but it was my least favorite. It's a dry and hard cookie, and I prefer soft and gooey, so just be aware if you're considering the cookie!
DELICIOUS! We weren't sure how we were going to like brussel sprouts and lardon with a mustard for breakfast but we wanted to try something different and man are we glad we did. Couldn't get it enough of it! The rest of the food was also delicious, the brussel sprouts dish was just outta this world
The food is so good! And the portions are huge. When we first walked in I was a little skeptical because some of the staff didn’t seem friendly but after we were seated the staff helping us were nice. The biscuit sandwich, bee yogurt and the cinnamon roll are sooooo good! I ordered all that food and couldn’t finish it because the portions were big but I love that because you get your money’s worth and all you have some delicious food to take home. We got there right at 8 and didn’t have to wait but by the time we were leaving there was a wait. Also they bring the receipt in an old recipe book and you can sign it it’s the cutest thing. Definitely going back when I’m In town.
This food was great! I ordered the biscuit breakfast sandwich and it was so filling and delicious. The potatoes were a great crisp as well. I ordered to go and it was a quick and easy pick up. If you want to dine in you do have to wait in line outside. The restaurant doesn’t look too spacious, so I imagine it gets packed very quickly especially on a weekend. I went on weekday and it was pretty full. The hostess was very friendly and had my order waiting for me ready to go and made sure I had everything I needed. The price is as expected for a brunch place and the portion size. I would definitely recommend trying. However The parking is very limited, they have a free parking lot but there’s not many spaces.
One of the best, if not the best, breakfasts we’ve ever had. Service was excellent and food came out quickly. We sat at the counter and got to see all the plates coming out - everything looked outstanding! Highly recommend the avocado toast that I got…I didn’t eat it, but if I had space I’d have gotten one of the plate sized cinnamon rolls too.
Quality, portions, great staff and the value is the best! The place setting is relaxing and clean.

New Years Day brunch and if you come here you have to get the banana waffle. 5 out 5. The waffle was crispy and soft which honestly had never had a crispy waffle before and such good flavor with the toppings. Ignore all the syrup in the photo because my husband's likes a lot of syrup. The chorizo burrito was alright. There is better chorizo. This was a good breakfast spot but has some interesting options that still need to be tried. 😁
Bacon & Butter, these two words alone have magnificent connotations of cozy and comfy food. When my family and I decided to check it out in Sacramento, CA one Saturday Morning. The wait time was an estimated 1 hour and the time frame was about correct. The signage on the street looks rustic and iconic at the same time while the front desk staff are very professionally friendly. The interior atmosphere is just as rustic and quaint. The wait staff was just as professionally friendly and patient with looking over the menu selection, prompt with drinks and coffee (by this time was just past 12pm noon). As we looked at the items, me and my party were commenting on the unique items on the menu. We have to start some where. We made our choices and there was: The Biscuit and Sausage Bowl, the Bacon Melt, Chicken n Waffles and my item; The Citris Poppyseed Pancake and we ordered a side of 2 scrambled eggs & Bacon. Everyone commented on how delicious and plentiful their meals were. But mine, was a combo of delicious and unique. I never would have thought to have peeled and sliced oranges (regular and blood) on the Pancake which was also topped in the center of the oranges on the Pancake, poppyseed butter. The combo was sweet and tart with a little drizzle of Syrup. So delicious. I typically only designate the coveted 5th Star for establishments who support the Military and Veterans. If this were true for Bacon and Butter, I wish. So I can only say the experience at Bacon and Butter deserves that 5th Star by word of mouth. As a Veteran who reviews all types of establishments, there are a few that do support us with a discount. All in all, it was a great 1st experience and look all look forward to returning to try other menu items even though our drive is over 30 minutes by freeway. Thank you Bacon and Butter foe being around for us to have.
We were seated right away and ordered the grilled cheese benedict along with pineapple and guava mimosas. Portions are enormous, and our server wisely suggested sharing. I’m glad we took the advice. The food was enjoyable, though quite heavy, and we did not need another meal until dinner. Prices felt steep, especially considering we only shared one entrée. While I appreciated the quick seating, if I had faced the longer wait times some guests experienced, I do not think it would have been worth it. Overall, a satisfying but indulgent stop.
Bacon and Butter is a very cute small breakfast/brunch spot off Broadway. The restaurant was seating inside and outside, they have a system for how to get a table that involves one line for putting your name on the list and another for being seated once it is your turn. They are pretty efficient especially considering how busy this place gets! The seating outside has umbrellas for shade which is nice and inside there’s tables, booths, and counter seating. Depending on when you go the wait may be longer than other times, I’ve usually had to wait around 35/40 minutes for a table for 2 and have had at the bar unless we wanted to wait longer. I’ve been here a couple times now and it’s been a nice experience so far but nothing exceptional. Most recently I went with my friend and ordered the spicy chicken and waffles. The part that makes the meal spicy is the hot honey which if you are a fan of you’ll really enjoy. The chicken is cooked nicely but plain, the waffle is also a bit plain but has a nice texture to it, and they do top it with pineapple and jalapeños. The meal was good but not the best I’ve had in Sac. I also had some fingerling potatoes on the side which were crispy and delicious. I had leftovers because the food was filling. The service was good and I would definitely come back to try other items. Some things to keep in mind they don’t take reservations and they don’t have ranch haha.
Waited about 20 minutes to get a couple of seats, but was well worth it. It was quite busy and full of people. I had the toasted cheese eggs Benedict and the plate was fantastic. The toast had a good amount of cheese that was gooey and crispy. The eggs were perfect. The side of potatoes were good too. I had an Arnold Palmer that was slightly carbonated and was probably the best I have had. Great place.and worth the wait.
Customer service was top tier. The wait was a tad bit long. Food was delicious. Overall experience 8/10. Definitely will be back again.

Came here for the first time. 30min wait for a Saturday brunch was not that bad but it’s because we accepted the counter seats, which I wouldn’t recommend. The seats are not comfortable and there is no place to put your purse. Food portion is huge. My boyfriend ordered cali burrito, which is good. It came with a lot of healthy ingredients (spinach, eggs, mushroom, caramelized onions, and fried potatoes). I ordered sausage sandwich with gravy, which tasted weird. Both sausage and gravy tasted sweet and imbalanced. I tried to save the dish with salt and pepper but still wrong so I started eating my boyfriend’s burrito 😂
Went here for breakfast, ordered the Breakfast Burrito with potato, corrizo, a small amount of egg and a cheese skirt (see photo). I should add that it had a small amount bacon bits and ground pork or beef, not sure. This might have happened by mistake by preparing another dish next to mine. The good thing is the portion is a good size and the two sauces (aioli and chili) were very good. The bad thing is the menu name is wrong, it should be called the Potato Burrito. If you really, really, really like potatoes your going to love this dish. I'll pass on if I ever go back. If I do go back and that is a big IF. I would order the Avacado Toast. Another person in our party ordered it and it looked good. The service was very welcoming, and attentive. Ambiance is fitting for a café. Plenty of free parking. But go early, less busy.
