Always a great time and delicious food!!!! Love it! Perfect place to eat at! Everything is amazing! Love coming here and eating the pupusas !!!
Come here ready to eat!!! Everything we ordered was delicious without any complaints. If you have a large party it takes a minute to prepare every dish but the food comes out fresh at the same time.
I have come here many times before with my family and the experience has always been great. I decided to bring some friends for brunch and it was wonderful. All the food was delicious and drinks were delicious and a very good deal! I of course will be back very very soon.
Surprised to see people say long wait times and trouble with service as I had excellent service and pretty speedy food/drinks! It was an introduction for me to El Salvadorian food and I appreciated staff recs! Good pours on wine and veggie options available
The meal convinced me this restaurant deserves my repeat business. The team members appear truly happy working here. This spot has great aesthetics and workers who care about it. The taste experience was outstanding. You'll appreciate this restaurant - I'm thankful I found it.
Just had my first taste of Salvadoran food right here in Astoria & I’m officially obsessed! This spot is serving up all the flavor and vibes with finger licking pupusas! Literal ooey gooey cheesy goodness that had me saying wow after every bite! Their weekday happy hour is 4–8pm & a must: $6 frozen margaritas $8 margs on the rocks $8 sangria $6 beer I tried so many delicious dishes but the Típico plate stole the my taste buds! The grilled steak, eggs, rice & beans, sweet plantains, feta cheese & sour cream all on one plate is straight fuego! Whether you’re craving the ultimate comfort food, a fun night out with friends, or just want to explore authentic Salvadoran cuisine in NYC, this spot is the move. Trust me, you’ll leave full & happy like I did! The perfect place for a pupusa + margarita night 😋 📍Salvatoria Kitchen & Bar 31-18 Broadway, Astoria, NY 11106
This restaurant shows professional excellence. The staff ensured I felt welcomed and answered questions with genuine interest. The dishes were dependably good, I must acknowledge. The spot mixes elegance, contemporary design and deliciousness. We considered it a special gathering.
Has been going to this place for a few years now, and food is always but yesterday I was truly surprised with the pupusas selection, it's not your bodega quality probably frozen pupusa... they do the real thing and offer a wide selection while maintaining a high quality product. If you're in the area and enjoy salvadorean food, this place is a must.
First time trying such different variations of pupusas. I got the steak and shrimp one. I loved it. Definitely amazing! Also got their iced coffee. They didn't really offer any flavors but still were great. The location is pretty nice and the staff is very attentive. Would definitely stop by again!
Family wanted to try some Salvadoran food. My wife found this spot, so we headed over to Queens. The staff was nice. Drinks were pretty good. the Large size of the drinks were $28, kinda pricey, when we go back probably skip the drinks but the food was really good. atmosphere is nice. the inside of the restaurant is small. they have an enclosed patio were we sat thats heated. so it wasn't bad. recommend reservations on weekends atleast it you dine in. would def go back for the Pupusas.
If you've not tried this spot you've done your taste buds a disservice! We had 4 adults and a 4 yr old and we sat at the outdoor picnic table. We ordered so much it filled the table haha. I will have to say my favorite was the Pupusa loca !! I ordered the surf n Turf and it was tender juicy and shrimp were perfect! The wait staff was super friendly and helpful!! Overall we all had a fantastic time.
I’ve been here more times then I can count and I love it here so much! The owner is such a sweet and beautiful women and the staff is always friendly! Great place to come for drinks and great Salvadorian food. I love the pupusas and could eat like 5 of them as a meal! It’s also super close to the subway so it’s convenient for me to get to and there is a metered parking lot right next to the restaurant if you are driving.
While exploring Astoria to watch champions League, we found this place and since they agreed to change tv channel to soccer we planned to dine in. Just wanted couple of drinks but later ordered few snacks to dry. The food was average, drinks were good but the server was really nice. He made sure everything was ok with us. The place was bit empty but Next time would come to try more of their food menu. Something that I didnt like was they charged for credit card usage. I mean, we are paying taxes already( they had seperate taxes for food and beverage) and on top 3% charge for cc, which I didnt understand why. And on table of 4, 20% gratuity was included, I dnt mind giving the server as he deserved more. They need to change their system of not charging card users, rest all good.
Went to Salvatore for a date and really enjoyed the experience. I didn’t take photos of the food because it didn’t feel like the moment for that, but I ordered the Honduran chicken, a fried chicken dish served with rice and beans, and it was really good. Flavorful, well cooked, and comforting. The cocktail was also solid and paired nicely with the meal. Overall, a great spot for good food and a relaxed date night vibe.
Wonderful ambiance and top tier service! The pupusas are absolutely the star of the menu and you can’t go wrong with any of them, they are hot, savory and delicious! My one unfortunate gripe is that the rest of the food items didn’t live up to expectations. I ordered the clam and shrimp ceviche and seafood soup under their specialties menu. The soup was flashy in presentation but lacking substance and difficult to eat with a small shelled crab. There was just one clam in the entire soup and really not much else other than a poached egg and a couple pieces of shrimp. The broth was great, but it cost a lot (about $30) and I was expecting more seafood. The ceviche was mostly tomato and onion and also not much seafood. Will give it another try at some point, but I recommend sticking to pupusas and drinks, which were phenomenal! Highly recommend this place for authentic Salvadoran food, but would stick to the more popular items recommended.
The place was okay. it's kind of small. The guacamole was okay it lacked some flavor but I love avocado so I still enjoyed it with tostones. I had papusas and honestly the papusas werent that good. the corn flour dough seems undercooked and it didnt taste right. The drinks are great I enjoyed the bellini which is peach and prosecco. Delicious. They have 25 per person unlimited drinks for brunch
I ordered a Tamarind drink , 1 pupusa bomb, 2 revueltas . Waited about 20 min for food . I received 1 pepperoni pupusa (I bit into it and found out) and 2 revueltas. The pupusas were thick. The filling was OK it needed a bit more salt . The pupusas fell apart and some of the fillings came out . I think the only good thing I liked was the drink.
I ordered pupusas revueltas and de frijol y queso with casamiento meal with Tamarid drink. I took my husband’s family out so they can try my cultural food. And it was a huge disappointment. The pupusas were not it and this is coming from a Salvadorian. The Tamarind drink also tasted really weird. The casamiento was too SALTY ! I was definitely very disappointed :( and it’s not the best Salvadorian spot in Astoria. :(
Second time coming here and unfortunately this time was a let down. The food wasn’t as good and there was an overcharge discrepancy on our check where the server attempted to gaslight me when I questioned the bill. The server claimed he could not spilt the bill at our table which was false and they charged a 20% gratuity to my cousin’s bill which was under $100. A female came to the table to assist my cousin’s bill discrepancy (20% gratuity charge) and the woman said the charge is per table not per check. That statement was inaccurate as I have attached there gratuity statement from the restaurant’s menu to this post. The food isn’t worth the price, if you want to be gaslit for hidden charges to your bill by all means go for it.
So I’ve been to this restaurant before at least 4-5 time's. It’s always been amazing except for this last visit unfortunately. Monday night my friend and I went to have drinks and some appetizers & entree. Drinks were on point as usual so were the appetizers but when the entree came which was breaded shrimp both my friend and I said it was a bit off (spoiled) by probably 1 day. We told the waiter and he removed it from the table and take it to the kitchen to be tested/ tasted by the cooks/chef. I told him I’m 💯 sure it was spoiled considering my background of chef for 26 years i assured him they were not good and should be thrown away before a guest could get really sick. We decided to order pupusas which were amazing. When it was time for the bill I noticed the shrimp entree was not removed so we asked the waiter to do so but he replied that all the kitchen cooks/chef tasted it and said there was nothing wrong with them and since the manager or owner wasn’t in house he couldn’t remove the item off the bill. I was completely shocked considering the circumstances. Unfortunately they have lost a loyal customer for this lack of unprofessional and quite honestly poor management.
Visited the other night after seeing all the social media coverage with 2 friends. When we arrived, we saw a large table celebrating a birthday inside and chose to sit in the front, the 3rd of 2 other parties. We recognized that it might be busy and, as someone in food service. We ordered pupusas, elote, a soup, a burger and a sandwich (both medium). The server asked how we wanted the food to arrive and we said whatever is easier as they seemed stressed. After ordering several other parties came. We then waited ages, seeing 2 of the parties that came after us receive food first. Having worked at restaurants, though, we didn’t complain and the server appeared stressed. The elote, pupusas, and soups were good. The burger and steak sandwich were clearly burnt but we had waited so long we just ate them. We asked for the check and it was split in two. We nearly added tips to each portion when I decided to look at the copy of the entire bill, which was underneath the split checks… Turns out a 20% gratuity was automatically added. This was not indicated in the split bill and we nearly wrote in additional gratuity (20% actually, which was generous for the service we received). So we nearly added gratuity on top of a slipped in automatic gratuity. Since when do you automatically charge gratuity on a table of 3? And without informing the customer? I can tolerate an off, busy night in service and burned food. However, sketchiness and trying to pull a fast one on customers is pretty despicable. Be forewarned, read your bill.
