Avis sur Azal Restaurant & Halal Bronx
This is the best Yemeni restaurant I have tried. Their Lamb saltah is amazing. I have brought people from out of town to try it on various occasions. The servers are super friendly and I love the complimentary lamb broth.
The food was outstanding — every dish we tried was flavorful and clearly made with quality ingredients. The [signature dish you tried] was especially memorable: perfectly seasoned, beautifully presented, and delicious with every bite. We also tried the [another dish], which had rich, bold flavors that exceeded our expectations. Portion sizes were generous, and the pace of service was just right — not rushed, but efficient. The atmosphere was comfortable and inviting, great for both casual dinners and special occasions. Overall, Azal Restaurant & Hall delivers on both taste and experience. I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for great food in the Bronx, and I’ll definitely be returning soon.
In all fairness, I appreciate effort and good manners especially in the world we live in today as this is very hard to come by. The servers, I wish I asked their names, were VERY polite and patient with us. I went there with 2 of my sisters and we were very chatty and struggled to get to the menu lol. They did not make us feel rushed in any way. The presentation of the food was very nice. I give 5 stars for this because intention is very valuable. However ☝🏼 please address cleanliness of walls by the booths. My sisters and I joked in regards to not looking and stay focused on eachother and food. Hummus and Naan were absolutely delicious 🤤 the chicken itself on all our platters were sadly tasteless. Still very edible and not deserving of extreme criticism. We left with full bellies. Thank you for your service and efforts 🙏🏼🤍
The lamb haneeth arrived super tender, perfumed with spices, its fat crisped and caramelized so each bite melted into the fluffy well seasoned rice. I also had the grilled lamb on pita, which was excellent too. Started things out with their soup, a rich broth that tasted like it simmered for hours and also went great with the rice. Friendly staff and that unbeatable location steps from spots for Adeni chai make Azal an easy favorite.
This is my favorite restaurant in New York .i find here good service and the best Arabic ( halal) food.Price is reasonable .I like this restaurant too much and my family loves to go there. This restaurant it too big and environment is really good. Workers are too friendly . Yes i recommend to go there.
This evening, we dined at Azal Restaurant, a remarkable spot in the Bronx’s Little Yemen neighborhood. Having never experienced Yemeni cuisine before, we were pleasantly surprised by the rich flavors and, above all, the exceptional hospitality we encountered at this hidden gem. The food was authentically prepared and incredibly tasty, and the servers were wonderfully attentive. Despite being the only patrons not from Yemen, we felt completely at home. The staff graciously offered us samples from the menu to help us make informed choices, ensuring we enjoyed our meal. Even my daughter, who is a picky eater, relished everything she tried, much to our delight. The prices were reasonable, and the ambiance was genuinely authentic. We were also pleasantly surprised by the generous portions we received. We will definitely be returning to Azal and highly recommend it to others seeking an authentic Yemeni dining experience.
This place is really great 👍. We visited after the jumma prayer around 3 pm. We started with French fries and falafel. We wanted to order a grape leaves platter but it was not available. Our main dish was lamb haneeth, shrimp sandwich, charcoal grilled Chicken, Chicken Tawook, khabsa lamb, Salmon. We finished with tea and Fanta drinks. The food is great. The best one is lamb haneeth. Please don't forget to try it. In the corner there is a prayer place. Also there are three tables on the right hand side where you can sit with your family privately. Service is very good 😊. They put the tablecloths and help you settle down. They are very polite and helpful. There are some slight differences between the menu in the website of the restaurant and the actual physical menu that we received in the restaurant. Please see the pictures for the most updated menu as of July 2024.
Just the right place to experience Halal kababs and Arabian dishes. The staff is super friendly and would take a step ahead to suggest you the best thing on the menu. They have small cabins so that you can enjoy with your family in privacy. They give a fresh new white tracing paper over the table which they ensures hygiene at its best. The food comes in really quick once ordered. The soup served as the welcome item is very flavourful and sets your taste buds in the tone for some delicious foods on the way. I didn't like their desserts though.
I came here today to try their Adeni fresh lemonade and shish kebab sandwich. It was amazing. The pricing was great too. The lemonade was $3 and the sandwich was $10. Their service was excellent. The lady who served us was very polite and friendly. The place looks very clean and beautiful I really recommend the lemonade. It’s a 10/10. Not too sweet or bland
Azal offers a reliable and enjoyable Middle Eastern dining experience, though it doesn't quite rise to the level of truly memorable. Located in a bustling strip mall, the restaurant's unpretentious exterior gives way to a pleasant, moderately-decorated interior. It's a comfortable spot for a weeknight dinner, and while it lacks some of the vibrant atmosphere of other spots, the casual and clean setting is perfectly functional.
I had a really disappointing experience here. I placed a late-night pickup order for lamb haneeth, lamb kabsa, and chicken fahsa. When I got home (after driving nearly two hours back to Long Island), I realized they completely messed up my order, one lamb dish was missing, and instead I received some random chicken stew with no rice that smelled and tasted terrible. The one lamb dish I did get was extremely dry and flavorless. To make things worse, the prices listed on the menu don’t match what you’re actually charged , it’s about $5 more per dish at checkout. When I called the next morning to explain, the person on the phone was rude and dismissive, saying they wouldn’t refund me unless I came back in person , no apology or effort to make things right. Very unprofessional service and poor food quality. Definitely not worth the trip or the price.
It’s an absolutely bad place with worst tasting yemeni food. We ordered lamb kabsa and they gave us old stinky fried chicken. Their chicken fahsa was old and smelly and lamb in lamb haneeth was dry. It was the worst experience ever and when we called to tell them that we didn’t get lamb kabsa and the guy was extremely rude and asked us to drive from long island to bronx so he can process refund which he can do over phone. No courtsey and he didn’t apologize and just cut the call.
Wow what can I say I've never seen something like this from any restaurant. I ordered chicken biryani. I saw the order from the see thru cover and thought they must put the chicken at the bottom when I got home I went thru it all and all I got was a chicken neck, couple of bones and potatoes. What a shame. I will be asking for a refund because I didn't ask for Bone biryani. Shame on the person that prepared this plate. It's ramadan and this is what I wanted to break my fast with.
