BA-MON-TE’S! BA-MON-TE’S! (Chant) Overview: (skip to end for dish recommendations) Not a bad thing to say! Food was perfect, exactly what a you need it to be. Comforting, tasty and the perfect size. Vibes were immaculate. Old school italien, I went with my grandparents but the clientele on a Friday night was more young professional , 30s-40s. Not too many places you get some gorgeous rolls and butter you don’t have to pay extra for. What was ordered: Caesar salad 10/10 Croutons were very seasoned. Love it Tomate caprese salad: 10/10 Nice portion grate flavour Shrimp cocktail: 10/10 Fire, flavour was there and shrimp size was there Lasagna: 10/10 Coming from my italien BF said was almost as good as their Nono (meat sizes were HUGE) Veal Parm 9/10 Bubby loved Veal Marsala 10/10 My grandfather ate it up
Amazing food. Fantastic service. Great atmosphere. There is almost always a wait here so call ahead. Everything they cook is fantastic. I can't wait till my next visit. Last time I had Chicken catchitore.
Bamonte’s was absolutely amazing from start to finish. The environment and lighting set the perfect tone, and the staff was truly extraordinary—welcoming, attentive, and knowledgeable. The food was out of this world. I couldn’t pronounce half the menu, so I trusted the specials and ordered the eggplant—no regrets. The meatballs were incredible, and the pasta is still living rent-free in my head. I can’t wait to come back for the fresh seafood. A must-visit spot.
They do great old-school Italian-American food. We went here for my dad's birthday and were about 15 people. The service was great and everything we ate from the hot antipasto to the main dishes was delicious. It was a great way to celebrate my dad's birthday and we will definitely be going back soon.
Great vibe, very classic interiors, strong (good) cocktails and great food. I had baked clams to start and a stuffed veal cutlet as an entree and it was as impeccable as the service. Solid wine selection. Class place. Bring cash. Come back regularly.
I went there last night with my mother and stepfather for my 37th birthday. I got the chicken Francese, it was absolutely delicious!. And to be honest if you compare the pricing it’s actually not bad, because the food quality is incredible. The waiters and owners are very visible during your dining and have a wonderful energy that radiates off of them. I had an apple pie for dessert and my goodness it was out of this world, my step father got the pork chops and it was a kiss your lips like a godfather movie LOL, my mother got the same as me. And we went home smiling! I hope this restaurant stays around forever. I don’t remember what the appetizer was called but it should be called “out of this world delicious!”
One of the highlights of my trip to NYC personally THE best restaurant I have ever been. The atmosphere alone is worth paying it a visit. Fourth generation family owned with amazing people running it. Food is amazing service is top notch and don't get me started on the huge selection of wines they have. It's a MUST visit when you come to NYC, call ahead to make sure you'll have a table available for you.
The restaurant is located in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn. They prepare Italian cuisine. The historic restaurant was established in 1900 and is still family-owned. It was the location of several movies and television shows including the Sopranos and Blue Bloods. Famous people from movies, television, sports and politics have dined here. They have maintained an old fashioned and authentic traditional Italian restaurant. Soups, salads, appetizers, entrees, desserts, beverages and an extensive wine list are available. I ordered a special chicken entree with asparagus that was similar to rollatine. The beef bolognese was tasty. The chicken cacchitorre can be made boneless with a very good sauce. The fried calamari was made well with an accompanying sauce. Friendly and helpful staff.
Let me start with everything kept leading me to Bamonte’s. I’m from Seattle solo traveling and I had so many recommendations to come here. I’m over the moon about this restaurant. I ate at the bar and was immediately seated. The service, the environment, the culture. AMAZING. The roasted peppers with mozzarella (yes!!) ask for extra garlic. Homemade cavatelli bolognese (YESSSS) also save your bread for the sauce. The tiramisu was the best I’ve ever had and to finish espresso. Not sure what coffee they are using but (YES). Don’t forget to order a martini and ENJOY
A very good Italian restaurant in Brooklyn. I sweat going to that borough from Long Island, as parking is rare. This restaurant offers their own parking lot with a valet for FREE! It was a graduation party, and the host, my friend, ordered a prefix meal with the choice of small individual plates. Awesome food, all around. Reservations recommended. If you sit at the bar, it's cash only, which was a bummer! All in all I liked the place a lot!
Phenomenal experience! We were visiting from Chicago and my son wanted a classic New York Italian dinner and Bamonte’s nailed it. From the ambiance to the service to the delicious food, drinks and dessert, it’s everything we were hoping for and then some. If we lived in New York, we’d be regulars. A++++!
First time at the old fashioned Italian Restaurant where I felt like i was in a Mafia movie with the lighting & the music but all seriousness, the food was delicious and plentiful. Their fried calamari, fried eggplants and baked clams were great. Their Osso buco was divine. And of course their chicken parmagiane was to die for. I'm getting hungry writing this review. Place had valet parking. Would definitely recommend.
The food at Bamonte’s was absolutely delicious—classic, comforting, and full of flavor. We also really appreciated that they were able to accommodate our reservation on very short notice. Overall, we had a nice experience, though the service felt a bit uneven at times and not quite as warm as expected. That said, the food truly stood out, and I hope future visits reflect that same level of care throughout🍝✨ #CallSana #CallSanaRecommends #SanaApproved #TravelingRealtor #TasteOfTheCity 😘
The atmosphere feels like stepping into a classic old school Italian spot, warm and inviting from the start. The baked clams come out chewy and flavorful, but the salty breading gets heavy after a few bites. The spaghetti and meatballs are decent but not memorable. The meat is lean to the point of being bland, and the pasta is dry rather than fresh, though still cooked well. The tiramisu shines as the best dish of the night, light and creamy with just enough espresso on the ladyfingers. Service moves between a little too pushy and genuinely friendly, which leaves a mixed impression. Overall, the place offers charm and a few highlights, but the food does not quite reach the same level.
Classic Italian done right! The Chicken Francaise (with artichoke hearts that particular evening) was flavorful and tender, and the spaghetti and meatballs had that perfect old-school charm—comforting and satisfying. You can tell they stick to tradition in the best way. But the real star of the night? The tiramisu. Absolutely mouthwatering—light, creamy, and rich without being too heavy. One of the best I’ve had in a long time. If you're craving traditional Italian in a nostalgic, no-frills setting, Bamonte’s delivers.
I wanted to try this old fashioned highly rated Italian restaurant. We went for lunch so it wasn't crowded. The food was on par with some of the other Italian restaurants we have dined at. If you like ambience and old world charm, this place is for you. Old carpets, paneling, pictures on the wall. The service was pretty good and the lady manager checked on us to see if everything was satisfactory. As some of the others have mentioned, a bit pricey.
The atmosphere here is amazing, that much is evident as soon as you walk in. We had to wait about 15 minutes for our table (we had a reservation) and there’s no where really to sit, so you just stand in a small area. It’s fine, as you do get to look around at the atmosphere, but there wasn’t a ton of communication regarding why we were waiting or for how long. The waiters are impeccably dressed and they are very friendly. But our waiter did keep trying to upsell our table which made us a little uncomfortable. We had to tell him we only wanted one order of something half a dozen times before he listened to us. Food is very good! A few of us get the special items. I had the scallop franchise and it was amazing. Anything in their red sauce was also delicious. It’s standard Italian fair but a bit more expensive & upscale. Portion size was good. Overall, good food & great vibes. It’s overpriced for what it is but it’s worth at least one visit for sure.
Came from CT. The food portions were very small. The price was very big. The staff was great! Atmosphere was awesome. I will be in Brooklyn, and Manhattan looking for a better spot. I was very disappointed. The flavor was ok but there was no pasta with the dish, if I was a big eater, I would be going somewhere else, nothing to Bragg about.
Extremely disappointed. Took the day off and drove an hour and 15 minutes to get to it from long Island. We went for lunch on a Fri. The waiter definitely skipped waiter school. Zero charm, bad attitude, made us feel like we should've had the menu memorized before we walked in and had our money out ready to pay before we sat. They're supposed to be famous for the chicken parm. Spaghetti not included. It's extra. What is included is a potato and a vegetable? Wth. This is Italian? Who came up with this great idea? 30 bucks for some rubbery chicken that was definitely not fresh. The spaghetti was no better than ronzoni. The shrimp cocktail was NOT fresh. You could tell from the meat of the shrimp that it was old. I couldn't wait to leave. 140 bucks down the toilet and about 5 hours of my day. Horrible experience.
THE WORST PLACE YOULL EVER GO TO!!! The staff was terrible and I ordered a wine and when I went to order the same wine the guy said they didn’t have that wine and when I said he just ordered it he started to argue with me. It all would have been fine if the food was at least good but the food was so bland and disgusting it’s not worth it. There are so many better restaurants. Also when I went to pay I asked if i could use my card and they said no it was cash only which is a lie because they do accept card. I’ve been spreading through word of mouth how bad it is and I hope the loose customers and fire that staff! Just go to Arthur and Sons it’s so much better!
PSA: DO NOT GO! Tl;dr - the food was mid and I was overcharged twice without my consent. First, the waiter recommended the most expensive item in the menu: mixed seafood platter. I took his suggestion and then the plate comes out and it's mostly linguine. It's basically some seafood but mostly pasta. Then, when the bill comes, we are charged 10% more than the menu. The Waiter says that he told me it is extra for linguine and I said yes.. when that conversation definitely did not happen. We are nice about it and just pay the additional costs (now I regret it). A few days later, I checked my credit card bill and the restaurant had the audacity to increase the tip and charge more on the bill than I signed for. THIS IS FRAUD. I'm pretty shocked and, after reading the reviews, it looks like I'm not the only one. I wonder how many customers are scammed by Belmonte's for overpriced and very subpar food.
