Brennan & Carr is one of those old-school New York spots that has stood the test of time. From the outside, it has that authentic neighborhood charm — simple, traditional, and full of history. Step inside, and you immediately feel the classic diner-style atmosphere that makes it so special. The roast beef sandwich is the star of the show. Thinly sliced, tender, and incredibly flavorful, served on a soft roll that perfectly absorbs their famous house gravy. The dipping sauce takes it to another level — rich, savory, and unforgettable. It’s comfort food at its absolute best. Portions are generous, prices are reasonable, and the quality remains consistent. It’s not about fancy presentation here — it’s about bold flavors and tradition done right. The staff is efficient and straightforward, keeping the line moving while maintaining that friendly Brooklyn energy. It’s the kind of place locals love and visitors are lucky to discover. If you want an authentic, no-frills New York food experience with serious flavor, Brennan & Carr is a must. Classic, satisfying, and iconic. Highly recommended

Iconic and absolutely worth the trip out. It can get busy and there was a bit of a wait, but after trying the food, I can see why. I started with a cup of their New England clam chowder, and it was easily one of the most flavorful I’ve had in a long time. But the real star is their signature roast beef sandwich, served soaking in jus. So tender, so flavorful, and exactly what you hope for from a place like this. I can see why it’s such an institution. And on top of that, it’s a great value too.

I have to say I was most impressed with the food, the amazing service and amazing friendliness. The roast beef was beyond delicious especially the corn fritters. They truly make you feel like family when arriving. I highly recommend coming and trying their delicious roast beef and corn fritters... it is definitely worth the drive and experiencing it fo4 your self. I will definitely be visiting again and again

Always great since 1938! Roast beef sandwich, beef platter and corn fritters.

Old school, straightforward, friendly but strangely polished - this is a good spot to check out if you’re in the area. Their roast beef sandwiches are definitely good, and you have your pick of “wetness”. White coat service is a nice touch.

I love this place. An ice cold bud and a double dipped roast beef with the works and extra broth is a must. I do have to say that my roast beef was cold my last visit, that was a disappointment, but anybody can have an off day. Keep an eye on that guys.

You have to try the Roast Beef with cheese it is the classic and to die for! It is cash only so plan for that! It is a Brooklyn classic with decor to match that classic look, this is definitely a local favorite and a don't miss opportunity

Another gem that has weathered the test of time. Delicious roast beef sandwiches with the drippings are well worth the trip. You'll feel transported in time and leave satisfied. Don't skip the beef broth either.

I got to try my first Brennan & Carr’s Roast Beef Sandwich and I am now HOOKED! This sandwich was outstanding, it’s no wonder the place has been around so long. Perfectly rare how I asked, smothered in cheese, perfect onions and drenched in au jus!

GARGIULO burger was great, with some sweet potato fries. Waiters kept checking on us as well.

Brennan and Carr's is a roast beef sandwich restaurant that's a Brooklyn legend that has been around since 1938, and it looks like it. The facade and interior have not been modernized at all. See attached pics. It's located on the edge of the Sheepshead Bay and Marine Park neighborhoods. There is a very tiny parking lot that fits 8 cars maximum (one is reserved for handicapped parking), but it is pretty easy to get parking on the street and I suspect many people use the adjacent bank parking lot, as well. When the weather is nice, they have a walk-up window to process take out orders. When you walk through the door to the place it is like entering a time warp. The first room you're in has a big counter and some stools for people who are ordering out that don't want to wait outside. If the dining room is full, this is where people wait to be seated. All the servers are male and they wear a very long white waiter's shirt uniform with pants and shoes. I've never seen a server here wearing sneakers or jeans. Some servers have been working there so long that I remember them serving me over 20 years ago. Once you're seated, you'll need to look at the menu on the wall for prices. The menu is very simple, containing soups (I recommend the New England clam chowder), appetizers, sandwiches/burgers, beers and dessert. See attached pic. The tables all have a napkin dispenser, a squeeze bottle is Goulden's spicy mustard, Heinz's ketchup and salt and pepper. I only really go there for the roast beef plate. It's pretty big as it contains enough meat to make two full sandwiches, and two sides, with a small toasted bun. The sides are either fries, onion rings or vegetables. You can mix and match, or double up. I personally avoid the veggies as I find them to be too watery. I just get onion rings and fries and for 80 cents, they'll make them cheese fries. The meat and accompanying au jus are delicious and the beef comes standard as medium rare. Most people put mustard on the beef and others think it's a sacrilege...I use the bun it comes with and make a sandwich with mustard and black pepper. Warning: If you order the roast beef sandwich, you should specify whether or not you want the au jus separately (for dipping) or poured on top of the sandwich (making it a "fork and knife job" sandwich). Some people love it that way. I prefer it separately for dipping as it's less messy, though. Service is great here, just tell them exactly what you want and how you want it. Prices are good for what you're getting. When you are ready to pay, I recommend having cash on hand to leave the servers on the table for gratuity, because you pay at a cashier booth that is right by the exit/entrance. I highly recommend this place if you're in the area, or just want to travel to this special roast beef place. Best in NY!

Their beef broth tasted a bit too salty for me. Corn fritters and roast beef sandwich were amazing!

As the old adage goes, “They don’t make ‘em like this anymore!” Like stepping nearly a century back in time to the magic and nostalgia of yesteryear. One of Brooklyn’s best original historic establishments — B&C still operates in its original 1938 building, with all the waiters donning the same original white jackets and ties. A real slice of history! My dad (74) grew up in Sheepshead Bay and he’s been coming here since he was a kid. Now, B&C has become a family tradition as part of Dad’s legacy. So many stories around this place, meals and laughs shared, and of course: Delicious food! Try the beef broth! It’ll change your life — honestly, it’s the cure for just about anything. It’s the same broth they simmer their famous roast beef in for hours on end… like liquid gold. This place is CASH ONLY, so leave your cards at home. Old school — and I am here for it! Never a bad experience at Brennan & Carr.

Great outer borough food experience. The roast beef sammies are great as are the potato dippers and spicy mayo. Dipping the RB into the jus on the side is so nice. Yum!!

This place is a Brooklyn Classic –Respectful, courteous, very helpful waiters wearing white butcher jackets seat you in this small old fashioned real wood paneled dining room with a brick fireplace and simple wagon wheel chandeliers – very comfortable atmosphere. This is the kind of place where you can take a picture with friends or family, and it will be excellent and memorable photo! Let’s get to the food – I’ve been coming here since I was 10, always getting the roast beef dip, which was and still is an amazing sandwich, but this time I got the exclusive Brennan and Carr “Gargiulo Burger”. I get this occasionally because, “It’s a different kind of Amazing sandwich!” Medium rare beef patty, juicy roast beef, cheese, but not too much, and some seriously tasty onions!!! I asked him to only give me a “Quick dip” in the beef broth, so the bun wasn’t too soggy. You can taste the delicious roast beef and burger together in each bite… Heaven. Little known fact: “The Gargiulo Burger” was named after The Gargiulo Family, who, many years ago, loved and frequented Brennan and Carr’s many years ago! All I have to say is “Thank God for The Gargiulo’s!” Is it a burger, is it a sandwich, I really don’t know – But I do know it is amazingly delicious! To be honest, In the decades I have been coming here, I have never had anything but delicious food and courteous service, it is the last of its kind… A true American classic.

I love their beef broth and oh my gosh their chicken tenders are delicious. The best chicken I’ve ever had in my life. I pray they stay around forever. The waiters are friendky. If you’re ever in Brooklyn, stop by Avenue U and get yourself a delicious broth and chicken. You won’t regret it.

Classic old school place with great vibe and tasty food. This wasnt my first time at this place, food is always consistent and on point. Even the simplest things on the menu like onion rings and corn fritters dont dissapoint. Main thing that prople come in there is a roast beef sandwiches dipped in broth. Amazing taste, unique in its own way. Waiters wear white coats and ties. Very attentive to all the guests. Noticed that they even know regular customers by name. Prices were reasonable. They accept

Lived in Brooklyn my whole life and I passed by this place many times but never went in. I am very happy to report that the burger/roast beef sandwich combo absolutely was delicious. Just make sure to get a side of the juice to dip in the sandwich. Do not let them drench the entire sandwich in the juice otherwise its a soggy mess. Also this is the type of sandwich that you have to eat as soon as it comes to your table and I would not recommend take out. This roast be restaurant is definitely one of Brooklyns hidden gems so do yourself a favor and make the trip, sit and enjoy.

Great roast beef sandwiches. My daughter got the chicken sandwich which was not on par, don't blame them. But we will go again and all get the roast beef next time around!!

I don't like roast beef but I enjoyed the roast beef from here. They soak it in a delicious beef broth or u can get the broth on the side for dipping or u can do what I did and get both. I got the gargulio burger which was juicy and flavorful. The fries were ok, the onion rings and chicken wings were good. The best things by far tho were the dessert and the service. The dessert was a hot slice of blueberry pie( they also have apple) with two scoops of vanilla ice cream. The waiter was friendly and helpful. Even tho we accidentally stayed past closing he didn't rush us to leave.

Horrifying vegetarians for generations, this place has the beef. Well-loved, dark wood interior is a cross between your corner diner and a Bavarian beer hall. Yes, they serve beer. First-timers will want the house special Roast Beef Sandwich, "double dipped" in their au jus if you don't mind the "moist" bun. Cheese is optional (but really it's not unless you have a lactose problem). If you really love au jus, you can order it "KFJ," so soaked with au jus that it's a "Knife & Fork Job." This time, I tried the Gargiulo, a cooked-to-order burger topped with their specialty roast beef & cheese, plus sautéed onions. This will now be my standard order. The crispy chicken sandwich is also good if you need a non-beef alternative. I also enjoyed the onion rings, but I think I'll go for the cheese fries next time. Solid, homey and satisfying.

I’ve been meaning to come here for years and I am SO glad I did. Had lunch here on a Sunday with my girlfriend - we both had roast beef with cheese and shared onion rings and cheese fries. The sandwich had easily the most delicious and tender roast beef I’ve ever had and the cheese added the perfect amount of saltiness to it all. Definitely get beef broth in a cup to dip. The sides were simple and tasty in the exact kind of way you want them to be and perfectly complimented the sandwiches. Make sure to get a cold bud to wash it all down. Special shout out to the AMAZING staff there who made the whole experience as good as it was. Everyone was so polite, friendly, professional and helpful.

We did a 3-hour round-trip walk with a one-year-old baby strapped to my husband's chest to try their roast beef sandwich, and we were not disappointed. The food was incredible. But it was the staff, especially the owner, Eddie, who made our trip out here so worthwhile. I just can't tell you how friendly they all were. We can't wait to bring the rest of our family when they're visiting us in Brooklyn.

Great roast beef sandwich served on a bun soaked with the beef juices. You eat with a knife and fork. Not fancy. Paper cups for soft drinks. Great fries and onion rings. The place has been around since 1938. All cash. No credit cards. We make the pilgrimage whenever we find ourselves in Brooklyn.

Old school place with amazing sandwiches and reasonable prices. Cash only. Both the roast beef sandwich ($10) and Gargiula burger ($11) were exceptional. Super savory and definitely get it dipped in the jus. Service also great. Worth the trek deep into Brooklyn.

We had the most delicious lunch here on a rainy Saturday. The cozy interior was a sweet escape. The only thing sweeter was the delicious corn fritters. Unfortunately we didn’t save room for dessert, the chocolate looked sinful. The roast beef sandwiches were moist but not soggy (even with a double dip). The structure of the sandwich was not compromised by the delicious beef broth. This is a certified Hannah hot spot!

Got the Roast beef sandwich with cheese and onion. It was amazing! Didn't realize it was cash only and the total was a few bucks more than I had and they let me slide and pay what I had. Deliciousbfood and awesome service. Thank you to the employee at the service window today.

U

Their signature roast beef sandwich lived up to the hype. Fries were crispy. The waiters were friendly, and the white coats add to the old school feeling. Inflation never happened here and a mug of beer costs $5. Overall spent $50 for dinner and drinks for two with a shared dessert — unheard of nowadays. Be prepared for a 10-15 minute wait if you come during dinner rush on a weekend.

Brennan & Carr – A Roast Beef Legacy That Defines Brooklyn Brennan & Carr has been feeding Brooklyn since 1938, and somehow, they’ve never lost their step. A true cornerstone of the Sheepshead Bay community, this no-nonsense spot continues to do one thing better than anyone else: roast beef. Started by John Brennan and Edward Carr, the original vision was simple—serve honest food with heart. Their signature roast beef recipe has remained untouched for nearly a century, and thank the food gods for that. Slow-roasted in-house, carved fresh, and dunked in that legendary beef broth—this is the kind of cooking that doesn’t need reinventing. Order it how you want: • Classic roll—soft and soaked, barely holding together. • The Gargiulo—a hero stacked with roast beef and melted mozzarella. • The Dingle—fully submerged in broth for the full experience. Even the bread is part of the art—it’s made to hold just long enough to get to your mouth, soaked in that warm, savory jus. And yes, the broth is the star. Rich, deep, comforting. The kind of broth you’d bottle up and keep forever if you could. Beyond the sandwich, the vibe here is New York grit meets family tradition. The staff is fast, no-nonsense, and real. The tables? Worn in the best way. You don’t come here for aesthetics—you come here because it’s authentic. Whether you’re a local lifer or a first-timer, Brennan & Carr is a reminder that some things should never change. ⭐ 5 stars, always. And then some. Try the Gargiulo. Thank me later.

Been going here since I was a lil bichhh and now I’m a big bichhh and it’s still great. I love the gargiulo burger but I actually really like the roast beef with cheese and onions and the cheese burger on their own because I’m a giant man with a giant hunger. It’s cash only so don’t be a ding dong and forget to have any. There are some banks around there. Go there! Here’s a photo I didn’t take because I was too busy stuffing my fat face. This was a friend who took it because she wants to be some kind of influencer.

What an awesome place. Feels like going back in time. I came here on a cold Monday night with two friends. They sat me before my friends arrived which I appreciated. We had 3 sandwiches, 2 cups of NE clam chowder, a few sides to share, 2 rounds of beer all around and 2 desserts a la mode. The total came out to $98. Unbeatable. The beef sandwich is incredible. I recommend getting it rare with cheese and double dipped. If you don't like too much au jus and are scared of soggy bread, maybe get it on the side. But I liked it! Also the desserts are not to be missed, we got the blueberry pie and chocolate lava cake. I think the pies ala mode are definitely the way to go here.

Old school roast beef served in old school environs with old school service. Get the classic double dipped roast beef sandwich w/ cheese and a side of extra beef broth - delicious! Went here yesterday with a few friends and we had an amazing time. The food was as good as it ever has been, and the atmosphere was very comforting. The holiday decorations were starting to take shape and looked great. The restaurant Was established in 1938 and Clearly, they have been doing something right for a very long time. We reminisced with the owner, Mr. Sullivan, about old Brooklyn stores and different neighborhoods. He is a wonderful hands-on, caring owner. The waiters are old-fashioned professional, and know exactly what they are doing. If you are in the mood for a delicious hamburger, roast beef sandwich, hotdog, chicken sandwich, and sides of french fries, onion rings, and mozzarella sticks at great prices you definitely need to stop in.

It's a very old fashioned place. I was the only black person in there when I walked in, but was treated just as wonderful as anyone else. Cash only, the register is extremely old. (I remember seeing a similar one at a diner in Long Island, but they renovated and stored the old one in the basement.)The parking lot holds about 8 to 10 cars. It's not plenty of parking, but at least you can park without worrying about the meter. The servers are awesome. They really seem to know their job. As soon as someone gets up they wipe the table and then seat whoever is next at a table. I got the roast beef sandwich with cheese and onions double dipped and cheese fries. I asked the server which should I order between the onions rings and cheese fries and he picked the cheese fries. The food was fantastic and much cheaper than all the other restaurants that sell french dip. French dip is simply a roast beef sandwich that you can dip in a sauce that has beef stock with some seasoning. The drinks come in a paper cup, unless it's beer (which is served in a mug). I suppose it's less dishes, but it just looks odd compared to how the rest of the meal is served on small plates. The price for the sandwich and the cheese fries with tax came up to less than $20. I'm not complaining, give them a try.

brennan & carr in brooklyn is the kind of place where you get baptized in beef. roast beef sliced thin, cheese melted right on it, then they dunk the whole thing in au jus till it’s dripping flavor. it’s messy in the best way, you’re signing a peace treaty with your taste buds and a stack of napkins. the price is right too. in a city where people charge fifteen bucks for a sad salad, here you get a sandwich that’s spectacular, filling, and still affordable. that roast beef with cheese dipped? spectacular. affordable. spiritual.

I came here for the roast beef sandwich and it was incredible but what was even more incredible was the service. The staff were so nice and friendly. I ordered the fries and the onion rings as sides and they were hot and fresh. For desert, I ordered the apple pie ala mode and the chocolate lava cake; they were both incredible, the lava cake and the apple pie were not too sweet and super rich; the ice cream also complemented the deserts. Great experience, would love to come back!

Old school Brooklyn sandwich staple. Love everything about it the decor, staff and the food. Personally I just love the roast beef sandwich dipped with cheese and onions but plenty of people are always eating other options. I do like the onion rings and potato dippers.

Brennan & Carr — A True Brooklyn Classic Since 1938. Small, old, and full of charm - Brennan & Carr doesn't chase trends, it proudly stays true to itself. With its wood-paneled walls and timeless vibe, this place feels like a slice of American history. We went for their legendary hot roast beef sandwiches dipped in broth - tender, flavorful, and absolutely unforgettable. Nothing fancy - just rich, comforting taste the way it's meant to be. If you appreciate places with character and history, where the food speaks for itself, Brennan & Carr is a must-visit. It's not just a sandwich spot - it's a piece of Brooklyn's soul. P.S. Payment is cash only.

5 stars. Nothing else to say. Just come and if you get Chris as your server you're in luck because he's a gem. Order the Gargiulo and don't look back. Don't be cheap, get the wings. Apple Pie ala mode is the only way, run don't walk, it'll help with the calories.

You don’t stumble into Brennan & Carr by accident. It’s not on a foodie walking tour. It’s not nestled in some tree-lined brownstone Brooklyn fairy tale. No, this shrine to meat and memory is perched unapologetically on a Sheepshead Bay strip that smells faintly of auto repair and nostalgia. It’s old. Old in the way that matters. Built in 1938 by two carpenters who knew a damn sight more about beef than branding, Brennan & Carr is the kind of place that survived by ignoring the whims of culinary trendiness. Truffle oil? Go back to Manhattan. Vegan aioli? The door’s over there. What they have here is beef. Real beef. And broth. Lots of it. The menu’s crown jewel—and let’s be honest, the reason you’re here—is the roast beef sandwich. But calling it a sandwich feels like calling Miles Davis a guy with a horn. This is the hot beef. A secular sacrament. A soft kaiser roll, lovingly soaked (double-dipped, if you know what you’re doing) in a broth that could resurrect the dead or at least keep them coming back. There’s a taxonomy to the broth-dunking process that borders on the spiritual: the Dingle Dangle for the timid, a polite brush against beefy baptism; the Double Dip for the true believers; and then, the apex—the Knife & Fork Job (KFJ)—a glorious, drippy, soggy mess that turns bread into sponge and beef into velvet. The broth—God, the broth—isn’t some factory-made salt bath. It’s an elixir, the liquified essence of roast, steeped in its own truths. No shortcuts. No compromises. Just beef, bone, and time. Step into the dining room and you’re back in a world where wood paneling was a lifestyle and not an aesthetic. The waitstaff doesn’t perform, they serve. Efficient. Warm. Human. You might sit next to a cop, a city worker, a judge, or a guy who sells knockoff handbags from the trunk of a Lincoln. All are welcome. All are eating the same thing. That’s democracy. And then there’s the Garjulo Burger, a glorious monstrosity that answers the eternal question: what if we took a burger and gave it the hot beef treatment? American cheese, sautéed onions, roast beef stacked high like a Bronx tenement, and—of course—a generous bath in that sacred broth. This is not fusion. This is a fever dream. And it works. Nothing here is pretty. It’s better than pretty. It’s honest. The food isn’t plated—it’s presented, with the reverence of a family heirloom. And while the city’s culinary elite are out chasing fermented sea foam and beef tartare lollipops, Brennan & Carr stays exactly where it’s always been—serving food that doesn’t need to change. So here’s the verdict, for what it’s worth: 5 stars. Not because it’s perfect, but because it doesn’t give a damn about being perfect. Brennan & Carr is what happens when a place doesn’t try to impress anyone—it just tries to feed you well and make you feel like you’ve come home. And in a city that forgets itself daily, that’s more than enough. So grab a napkin—hell, grab a stack. Order the hot beef, double-dipped. Eat with your hands, your elbows, your heart. And when the last bite is gone and your fingers smell like broth and memory, raise a glass to the simple, noble act of feeding people the right way. To Brennan & Carr. To Brooklyn. To beef.

I hadn’t been in the Marine Park area in ages & decided to stop here for lunch yesterday. It was a cold day so I decided to have a soup & a sandwich. I had the clam chowder to start, which was pretty good. Then had the roast beef sandwich which they’re known for dipping the bread in the beef’s juice. I added cheese & onions & practically inhaled the sandwich it was so good. The service was quick & the server polite. The restaurant is quite old & though that adds to the atmosphere the table I was seated at needs to be refinished. There was a huge chunk of lacquer or varnish missing & if you’re not careful you could end up spilling your drink if you slide it across the table. Though I’m sure not all tables were like that. Still a great place to have a reasonably priced & delicious meal if you’re in the area. They also have a takeout window.

Finally got to visit this Brooklyn institution. It was alright to be honest. I do like the other famous competitor more better as there is pizza after a certain amount spent. The roast beef sandwich was alright, the Manhattan clam chowder was good. Sweet potato fries were nice! Big fan of the service and atmosphere! Be ready with your cash and it is pricey in my opinion.

Cool Bavarian style decor and a neighborhood favorite but I think in the battle of best roast beef of Sheepshead Bay, Roll'n' Roaster wins by a small margin. You get more meat here but the structure of the sandwiches is similar to the rnr sandwich and it just falls apart. The fries weren't as good either but still an enjoyable experience.

Part of the reason we even came to America after seeing on the man vs food program, staff didn't give a rats that we'd made an effort to get there and seemed pretty grumpy over all. Food was pretty good though in fairness!

A Brooklyn staple. The roast beef was good, got it single dipped with the broth on the side to dip. Definitely get the mustard also adds some flavor otherwise it’s kind of just dull. It’s definitely a decent sandwich but nothing out of the ballpark. The classic cheeseburger was really good tho, also I dipped in the broth and it really was quite nice. Let them cook it how they normally do. The French fries were classic. So hot and fresh. Really good. Nice that there’s a small parking lot since it’s on a corner street. Also heads up it’s cash only!

I didn't think too much of the roast beef sandwich (French dip). The bun itself was excellent and made the sandwich. Also, the service and hospitality was that of a 5 star restaurant. I was impressed how professional the staff was.

Classic Brooklyn institution! Brennan & Carr's hot roast beef sandwich is legendary — juicy, tender beef piled high, double-dipped in rich au jus (bun soaks it up perfectly), with great flavor and portions. Food is solid old-school comfort, service friendly and efficient, atmosphere nostalgic and cozy (wood interior, cash-only charm). Can get busy and a bit soggy if over-dipped, but that's part of the appeal. 4.5 stars — must-try for NYC roast beef fans!

Already irrated when I got here. Was in the city for two night stay before going on to Florida was supposed to meet a old friend.. who I dated while in college hadnt seen in years. She promised me a dinner at a restaurant in Manhattan. But when I got to JFK airport.. I was met by her quirky brother he explained how she got called away for her job wasn't able to meet. Her brother brought me here I was surprisingly impressed with the lunch I had the roast beef sandwich and soda... it was great.. one of best I've had

This is a Brooklyn landmark. Very old school. Simple menu with fast food items and some pies. They are famous for their KFJ (knife and fork job ) roast beef. At first glance it appears somewhat dated in a charming sort of way. CASH ONLY. They do not have an ATM but there are banks across the street. The ambiance was interesting and i personally liked it- but this depends on your mood and interpretation. I advise keeping an open mind and going with the flow here. I'm glad I did. The service was surprisingly amazing and friendly. I got the roast beef and cheese sandwich, dipped and doused with aujus - and a side of crispy onion rings- it was friggen delicious. It exceeded my expectations. My waiter actually comped one of my beers which was really cool. Do not come here if you want a salad or something- you won't get it. If you want a burger or fries or their famous roast beef and a frosty budweiser in a mug- this is the place to go! I will be back- I just have to space my visits because a guy can easily gain weight at this place.

The restaurant is located in the Marine Park section of Brooklyn. It was established in 1938. The restaurant has tables for dining in and being served. The menu is similar to fast food restaurants and includes hamburgers, hot dogs, roast beef sandwiches, chicken sandwiches and pork sliced sandwiches. Corn fritters, french fries and chicken tenders are also on the menu. Soda and beer are also available. I ordered the pork sliced sandwich and roast beef sandwich. Both were very good. I chose to have the dipping sauce on the side. The chicken tenders were good but too small. My honey mustard sauce was missing from the order. Parking lot is adjacent to the restaurant. Friendly and helpful staff.

Has become overpriced and is overrated. Their roast beef sandwich wasn't as good as I remember it being. I got a slab of roast beef sitting on a juice filled plate. No cheese, onions just roast beef on a roll. I think that John's Deli Roast beef sandwich is waaaay better. Just kind of blah over here.

Good food. Roast beef sandwich is often cold or frozen in the middle. Quality went down. Used to be onpoint. Still a good local favorite. I love it here on a good day. Love the greasyness goodness. This Place has good roast beef sandwiches. This place is cash only. I would recommend this place and they have good beer on tap. There is a parking lot with about 8 spots. Parking lot is tight and people are terrible drivers. Inside the restaurant is classic the way it's been for decades. The roast beef is delicious when wet and extra cheesey. I always order my cheese beef with extra cheese which they charge $2.25 for. Prices are high but if you have craving you'll be happy. Ordered 2 cheese beefs with extra cheese, one Regular Cheese beef, a roast beef sandwich plain, a roast beef plate, 2 french fries, 3 cups of broth, 2 orders of wings and 2 orders of mozzarella cheese sticks and like 5 cups of Cheese which all cost approximately around $120. They were nice they threw in a free cup of broth. The appetizers were good. The cheese beef was great today. Everything was spot on. This place is worth it just don't tell your heart doctor that you went here. Seating inside is fair. Service is nice. Food is greasy goodness. I tried everything on the menu and you'll be pleased. Everything is decent but the best things here are the roast beef sandwiches and roast beef plate and burgers. The roast beef sandwich is best double dipped with bread submerged soaking in that delicious broth and don't forget to add extra cheese because cheese makes everything better and a cup of hot broth to dip your sandwich in between bites and also dip or soak your fries into the delicious broth. Broth is delicious but drink it at your own risk. Definitely great for pigging out when you get the munchies. It's best to eat in but it's also good for take out.

I REALLY wanted a burger today and rerouted dinner plans twice before ending up here. I've only eaten here one other time before today. The last time I got the roast beef sandwich with au jus. I ordered the cheeseburger and cheese fries. My expectations were set too high. The burger was reminiscent of Louies Lunch. There was nothing except beef, cheese, and bread. There was nothing special about it. The fries were tasty but over cheesed. If I ordered a plane burger, I could have dipped it into the cheese fries. Service wasn't particularly good either. No drink refills and super slow with bringing anything. Guess I'll be heading back to Roll N Roasters.

Iconic, great staff but the food is just mediocre. Maybe a wet roast beef sandwich is just not for me. The clam chowder was pretty good. Wet roast beef was a bit sad and lacked real flavor. And the onion rings were fine. A bit disappointing. The ambiance and service though were top notch.

M
Mary R.

The waiter was fast and attentive. I got the roast beef sandwich with cheese and onions. I didn’t like how mushy and soggy the bread got. Also, the roast beef was cold. Didn’t really live up to the hype. Also the place is cash only which is super inconvenient.

This place has been on my list for a while, old school, walk up window, I love sandwiches. Felt like a slam dunk. I got my sandwich to go since I live close and had my dog with me. Regular roast beef and an order of fries, $17.00. Smelled good on the way home (7 min car ride) got home and immediately opened it up...... bummer. Totally flat, not much meat? And like... that's it, literally. Fries were fine, way under seasoned, and I'm a fan of you can put more salt on that's fine, still totally limp boring fries. Sandwich..... I'm seriously searching my soul here, cause I think you're better off at Arby's and I hate saying that. I'm usually a second chance kinda person, but I think this one is coming off my list.

Excellent service and old school Brooklyn vibe, but the food was really crummy. Ordered the double dipped roast beef with cheese fries. Sandwich was bland and flavorless, and the 'broth' had no richness at all. Cheese fries were incredibly standard fare. I assume people who love this place are either drunk or on no-sodium diets.

This place brings me back to the 1950s the service was good honestly I don't know how this place is still in business , I guess when you're drunk everything tastes good, the food taste horrible ,a Sabret hot dog tastes better than theirs. The roast beef sandwich didn't taste good at all the onion rings were okay what a waste of money . I won't referring anyone to this place .

I came in here with my husband craving a roast beef sandwich and never got it I walked out!! due to the service I’ve never felt discriminated. We walked inside hoping to get a table and the staff behind the counter completely ignored us, They didn’t greet us or bother to ask if we needed a table instead he looked at us and walked away and was standing watching T.V with another waiter right infront of us. We waited a few minutes and just walked out. Terrible customer service and gave racist energy.

I was very excited to try this place after years of hearing about it on the Food Network. The food to my disappointment was absolutely disgusting. My roast beef sandwich was completely overcooked and had no flavor. On a positive note, the service was outstanding and they have great prices!
