Good Bar. Didnt try the food but the vibe was ight
Had a celebration here on the patio the other night - the staff was super friendly & helpful. Great neighborhood spot.
Great, chill neighborhood bar with friendly bartenders and several specials—definitely recommend if you’re in the area!
Super chill laid back vibes, with an old school jukebox, pinball machines, and quality cocktail menu with equally cool bartenders.
First time here. I feel in love with the atmosphere. Pretty chill place to sit and have a drink or two. Arthur, the bartender, is a gentleman to meet. His service is superb! Definitely will be coming back throughout the year.
Came in on a Saturday night and it was great!! Great ambience, not too crowded but still enough people to feel comfortable, and they have pinball machines in the back that actually are fun to play! (As opposed to being rigged to make you lost, which a lot of machines are.) Not drinking right now and the bartender made me a super tasty mocktail (a strawberry one, since they had strawberry margaritas on the menu). 🍸There were some great cocktails on the menu and plan to have one sometime down the line. Also saw some unusual craft beers here too - like sours which are rare in bars. I was impressed with the drinks they offered! Will absolutely be back! Really loved this place. And the bartenders were really cool.
This is a great place to hang out with friends - or meet new friends - in the heart of Park Slope! They have an excellent selection of beer on tap, bottles, wine, and cocktails! Would highly recommend making this your destination on Friday or Saturday Night to unwind with friends. The staff is very friendly, courteous, and professional.
I had an hour to kill before dinner with my girlfriend and her family, and wanted a place to have a beer by myself. Commonwealth was the perfect choice! The bartender was efficient and polite and the music selection was excellent. Will definitely stop by if I ever have some time to kill in the neighborhood.
Used to live across the street from this great little classy dive. We used to order Coffee Boy shots... not sure if that's still a thing. As a woman, it's a bar that I can go to alone and feel totally comfortable. Drinks a great. Beer and wine selection is also great. There's a juke with so much to choose from for a great soundtrack to your time spent there. Also, popcorn. Bartenders are very nice and attentive. I moved away, but visit any chance I can.
This place is awesome. Fantastic bar in the heart of the neighborhood. Popcorn is free, pinball is classic and the juke box has the best music around. Outside area is perfect in the summer and they have a very nice selection of beer on tap. We always stop in at the Commonwealth on our trips out east!
This is a great find. Very chilled atmosphere, and to find outside seating in Brooklyn that isn’t stuck out on the road is hard. Bar staff couldn’t be friendlier or more attentive and the free popcorn is just the cherry on the cake. I would hugely recommend to anyone in the area wanting a drink in the fresh air with friends or just a place to go and study/work.
One of the best bars in Brooklyn! Friendly bartenders, cheap beer, great music, free popcorn! The outside space is usually far too smokey to hang out in, but aside from that, I love this bar.
Great spot to hang out in Park Slope, the friendly bartenders and free popcorn make this place stand out. The outdoor seating area attracts a decent crowd when the weather is nice. Good happy hour specials as well compared to the other bars in the area.
Good music(jukebox), good popcorn. Great prices. If you're looking for a place to chill with friends, and have a conversation, eat some free popcorn with garlic sauce it's definitely the place to go. Suggest: yes!
I love this bar. I am frequent customer, but when I am served flat, stale beer and am ignored when bringing it up, I feel obliged to write a review. I love pale ales—they’re my favorite beer. So when I tasted the blood orange pale ale, I was surprised it was flat and stale. I even had my entire party taste it because I wanted to be sure it was not just my preference. They all agreed it was a stale beer. I also want to be clear that never in my life have I ever considered sending back a beer. I have had beers that weren’t what I was expecting, and that’s okay, but this was so unpleasant I wanted to inform the bar that something may be off with the keg. I told all three bartenders working, only to be met with “that’s how it always tastes” and a suck-it-up shrug. While I know it was busy since it was pride, as a queer woman, I felt so disrespected and ignored, I left the bar in tears. I know what a pale ale tastes like. It’s not my first rodeo. And it wasn’t about getting a replacement beer— I had just been gaslit, ignored, and disrespected at my favorite bar, on pride no less. I don’t know if this behavior is a result of new management after Ray’s tragic passing, but I have never felt so belittled at a bar and feel as if I have no other choice than to write a review.
