Came here with some family and didn’t think much of it before coming. But it was really good The juices are terrific, fresh and flavoursome. You can choose fruits- we did apple, pineapple, orange, carrot and ginger and it was excellent. We had chilaquiles, quesadillas, birria tacos, regular tacos, and enchiladas, with a good variety of proteins. All dishes came with beans and rice. Everything was delicious, fresh and easy to share. The sauces on top are great and made in house. It was also easy to hear each other talk. Ultimately I had an excellent dining experience here. I would highly recommend this place to anyone nearby and look forward to returning here with my family and friends when I am next in New York.
El Mexicano Restaurant and Cafe truly deserves a 5.0 perfect score rating. The staff are fantastic and helped explain all the meals. We chose several meals to share and really enjoyed the authentic Mexican flavours.
Wow, I loved this place! It has delicious food: they definitely use fresh ingredients. The portions were generous, and the service was excellent. We were surprised to find a really large seating area hidden from the main view. We spent $20 and feasted like kings. Overall, we really enjoyed this place, Thank you!
We ordered the chicken enchiladas with mole sauce and shrimp tacos and we are stuffed because it was so phenomenal!!!! We finished every last bite. The service was also great — super fast, very friendly staff. This was a gem and would travel just for this food

The best Mexican food I've had maybe ever. Very reasonably priced, the tostadas are particularly stunning and the burrito is unmatched. The staff is also very nice and the service is good. It's not fast, but that's probably because everything is made very fresh!
The real deal, no frills. I will admit when we first saw this spot arrive, we judged if it could beat the other 5 spots in the area. To my surprise, the other reviews are on point. I had the birria tacos and they were so tasty. *Oily but comes with the territory. I will definitely be back and try some other dishes too. A nice addition to the neighborhood and manages to stand out with quality with the competing near by Mexican restaurants.
super casual, staff seem to genuinely like their jobs. house-made chips!!! as a person who is sensitive to food quality: tasty guac, margaritas and flatuas… and an “A grade” :)

If you’re looking for delicious and authentic food this is the place. All the food is freshly made with quality ingredients and you can tell by the taste! Service is very friendly and fast. I highly recommend the chilaquiles and the guacamole. Also all their aguas frescas are great
Amazing shrimp burritos and burrito bowls!!! My husband loves the cemita here. Service is quick and the guys behind the counter are always polite. The prices are also very reasonable. Would recommend again and again ❤️.
We used to order from their first location in Ave U when we lived in the area. It recently opened in Park slope area. Genuine Mexican food, service is very attentive. We go eat here every other Sunday. If you crave Mexican food this is definitely the right place.

The food is fantastic, special shout out to the Enchiladas de Mole. Hard to stand out given the other good Mexican restaurants in the neighborhood, but El Mexicano has done it.
This place is LEGIT! There are several Mexican places on the same avenue but this one by far is the best, is authentic and DELICIOUS! The service is amazing as well. I am coming back for the burrito, and will order again the enchiladas. 10/10. Try it, you will not regret it.

We came in for a Sunday evening bite to eat. No other customers, our server was quick and attentive. Margarita and Pacifico beers with lime were great, we had tacos and quesadillas which were delicious! Tortilla chips and guacamole was also spot on, with three different hot sauces. Prices were reasonable. Clean floors, tables, and restrooms.
