Avis sur Hadramout Restaurant Brooklyn
The food was amazing. Started of some lamb galabah with creamy hummus and fahsa was amazing. For entree we had lamb haneth. It was good although it wasn’t salted enough. Finished with some fateh which was so good. Loved it
I love eating out but very very very rarely do I take the time and care to write reviews on Google maps. I only do it when something is exceptionally good or exceptionally bad….in this case it’s the former. The food was genuinely one of the best meals I’ve had in my life (maybe also from the fact that it was my first time trying out Yemeni food). I had the lamb fahsa with the bread that it’s eaten with and the tea they served us to drink. Everything was delicious, the food was very fresh, the meal was full of flavour (but not spicy) and the lamb was amazing in taste and way it was prepared. The tea was sweet (mint tea I believe ?) and I drank about 3 cups of it (you can refill !). Staff was very kind and lively and the server took the time to answer all of our questions. Overall, 10/10 in terms of everything, highly recommend, if you love yourself, go eat something from there.
It was genuinely one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time! We got a land dish and a chicken dish which were phenomenal but then we tried the baklava and it blew us away! Additionally the vibe of the interior is so nice and beautiful! The service was beyond exceptional and our server was the sweetest! Overall this is an amazing restaurant and I will def be coming back again and again!
Always a delight to find a wholesome, delicious food offering in the middle of the night during the week. Delicious lamb, tender bread and the sizzler dish just warmed the soul! I don't want to butcher the spelling of the dishes that we got, but we had asked the server for some ideas and he did not lead us astray. Everything was flavorful, soul-nourishing and delicious!! The house hot sweet tea really hit the spot. The portions were large and we took plenty leftovers home. The baklava was not my favorite that I've had, but still a nice dessert after the savory meal.
amazing food!! the chicken fahsa was sooo good, super flavorful and perfectly cooked. the staff were so attentive and friendly, really made the experience even better. the salads, soup, and tea were all amazing too. definitely coming back, love bringing friends here!
My family had a terrific experience. We barely talked to each other because the food was so good we wanted to keep eating! Very friendly staff. Money well spent. If you are looking for Yemeni food you will not be disappointed. The fresh and hot tandoori rashoosh is a must!
Loved every bite of this authentic Yemeni restaurant! Their bread comes out hot and fresh and is gigantic! They also have great fahsa stews with a variety of protein options ranging from vegetarian to fish or meat options, this is definitely a highlight and cannot be done with takeout because it is served in a large stone crater bowl. They also have delicious rice dishes and their mezze platter is a fantastic starter for the table, the babaghanoush is the best! Service is friendly and attentive, however they do not provide water and you have to buy bottled. Either way, highly recommend going with a big group and doing family style!
I’ve been going here for over a decade and still really love it! They’ve really redesigned the space well, food is solid, and the staff are so kind. I always get the lamb ghalaba which you can’t go wrong with. Tanzina was my server and she was attentive, kind and gracious. The staff also gave me a plate of rice and chicken just because! Super generous and will continue to come back.
Restaurant was small in the basement but clean. Staff and owner was very friendly. Service was quick. Salad and soup was complimentary. Meal portion was huge. Food was fresh. Soup was delicious. Chicken Fahsa was exceptional. My friend ate lamb haneeth first time and she loved it. Brought half of the food at home. Loved the place. Would definitely go back.
While I notice that there are a couple of negative comments on the service, my experience regarding the service and the food is outstanding. I was there during noon. Highly recommended authentic Yemeni foods, and of course, it would not be the last visit. By the way, they have three different types of rice and opens 24 hours with fresh foods.
I'll keep it short and sweet. If you want to learn the art of hospitality then, you have to experience this restaurants service. The wait staff here is hard working. When you place your order make sure you know that you will want to go home with extra food because it's so delicious! =) This place is part of New York City history. This should be a national landmark in my humble opinion.
Love the food here. It’s not certified halal but the owner will tell you exactly where he buys the meat from and it’s halal authenticity. The tastes are great, the lamb haneeth, lamb fahsa delicious!! The appetizers are also really good. The vibe of the place is always cool as well. Stays open late as well.
Overall Experience We had a good overall experience at Hadramout Restaurant. The food was good, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was comfortable. This is a solid option for traditional Yemeni food. 🍽️ Food What we ordered: • Lamb Haneeth • Kebsa Lamb The lamb haneeth was well cooked and flavorful, served in a generous portion with rice. The kebsa lamb was also good, with nicely seasoned rice and tender meat. Both dishes were satisfying and filling. Soup and salad came with the meals, which was a nice addition. The food was good overall, which is why this visit earned four stars. 🤝 Service Service was five-star. Staff treated us very well, were polite, respectful, and attentive throughout the meal. We felt welcomed and taken care of. Many staff members speak Arabic, which is a big plus for the local community and adds to the authenticity of the experience. 🌿 Atmosphere The atmosphere was okay. It was comfortable for dining, with a moderate noise level that allowed conversation. Nothing special, but perfectly fine for a sit-down meal. 🥗 Vegetarian Options There is a vegetarian section on the menu with solid options like hummus, salads, vegetable dishes, and bread. While the restaurant focuses heavily on meat dishes, vegetarians will still find good choices available. Any other vegetarian details: Vegetarian dishes are clearly listed on the menu, and the staff is helpful if you have questions. 🚫 Dietary Restrictions If you have dietary needs or restrictions, the staff is accommodating and willing to explain dishes and ingredients. It is best to ask when ordering. 🚗 Parking How is the parking? Somewhat difficult to find, depending on the time. Parking options available: Paid street parking Paid parking garages nearby Parking is manageable but may require a short walk. Additional parking details: Located on a busy avenue, so planning ahead helps. 👨👩👧 Kid-Friendliness Kid-friendly environment. The restaurant is spacious, calm, and suitable for families with children. ♿ Wheelchair Accessibility The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. There is access via the sidewalk ramp, and entry into the restaurant is manageable without steps. ✅ Final Thoughts Hadramout Restaurant delivers an authentic Yemeni dining experience with excellent food, top-tier cleanliness, warm service, and a beautiful atmosphere. Every dish we tried was outstanding, and the overall experience exceeded expectations. Highly recommended. I will definitely be coming back.
Stumbled into Hadramout on Atlantic Ave, a joint where the air’s thick with the scent of spices and stories. The kind of place where the world slows down, and you’re reminded that life’s about simple pleasures. Ordered the Lamb Haneeth—tender, slow-roasted lamb that falls off the bone, seasoned just right. The kind of dish that makes you forget the city’s chaos outside. Paired it with their long-grain rice, each grain soaking up the flavors, a testament to patience and tradition. The Tandoori Rashoosh flatbread? Fresh, warm, perfect for scooping up every last bit. And the Yemeni Sweet Tea, a brew that warms you from the inside, reminding you of distant places and times. Service was genuine, no frills. They let the food do the talking. A place where authenticity isn’t a selling point; it’s just the way things are. Hadramout isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a pause, a moment to breathe and savor. Four stars because nothing’s perfect, but this comes close.
4/5 stars! Hidden Gem Alert: Hadramout Restaurant! If you're craving authentic Yemeni cuisine in New York, look no further! This restaurant serves up some of the best Yemeni food I've had. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, adding to the overall dining experience. However, there's room for improvement: the service can be slow, with lengthy wait times for food to arrive. Despite this, the exceptional food quality and generous portions make up for it. If you're a fan of Yemeni cuisine, Hadramout Restaurant is a must-visit! Recommended for foodies and those seeking authentic Yemeni flavors in NYC!" Be patience at restaurant
I've heard a lot about Hadramout and visited a couple of times, each visit offering a different experience. The first time was good, but the second time was disappointing. The food wasn't tasty, and the service was pretty bad. Although the ‘lamb Khabsa’ is usually really good, I noticed cleanliness issues during my second visit, with food scattered all over the small kitchen. I believe Hadramout can and should do better. With improvements, we could proudly visit them for the best Yemeni food! ✨🍲
We took one full kabsa for $34+tax =37. Look at the quantity; barely one person can eat it. We ate here previously, and it was more than enough for 2 people. Also, the taste got decreased. Totally disappointed; not recommended. If you want to taste kabsa, it is better to look at some other place. I don’t know about other things.
