Avis sur Krupa Grocery Brooklyn
SYKO is an all around worth-it foodie experience. The food is split into 3 menus: Syrian, Fusion, Korean. I was interested in the fusion food, so the co-owner's wife recommended we try the Labandu (pork dumplings covered in crispy chili oil over labne) and the Half Falafel Half Shawarma pizza (the pizza dough is actually a scallion pancake). Amazing recommendations - that Labandu dish is making us want to relocate to Brooklyn lol. The fusion flavors work so well together. You can pinpoint the Middle Eastern flavors from the Korean flavors - the fresh labne from the spicy chili - and somehow they come together in a way that makes SO much sense. We walked in on a Saturday afternoon and were immediately immersed in what felt like a Middle Eastern and Korean grocery store. The walls are lined with items you'd only see if you were in a predominately Syrian or Korean populated area. There are 10 indoor seating spots and when it's nice out, 8 outdoor spots. Despite how busy the restaurant was, we were able to find a spot for our group with ease because a lot of people were getting take out. Can’t wait to return!
Amazing! The food is Michelin guide level. The amount of fusionary flavor that explodes with each bite is phenomenal. You need to close your eyes while eating to truly indulge all your senses in the explosion of flavor. Different, yet familiar. Highly recommended. The staff are also very friendly and hospitable.will be back very soon.
Amazing. Super friendly. The Chicken Shawarma was great. I love the fila bread it’s wrapped in. Cool esthetic with the newspaper wrap. The lebneh is very authentic. Haven’t tased that level of lebneh since I was a kid.
Unique and delicious! The place is really takeout but there are a few tables and chairs inside. The service is fast and you can watch the food being prepared. The menu is interesting, some Syrian dishes, some Korean dishes, and a fusion section, street food style. Everything is outstanding, lots of flavor, contrasting textures, and so tasty. Highly recommend this place!
Phenomenal!! I had the sampler and I wish my stomach was big enough to try everything on the menu. Amazing flavors, did not disappoint!! I love this place.
Maybe one of the craziest meals I have had in Brooklyn in a while! Crazy fusion of flavors, totally unique dishes. Loved the falafel with cucumber kimchi and the famous Fat Boy sandwich. I will be back to try some more dishes!
Alright, let's talk about this place. If you're looking for a Michelin-star, white-tablecloth, "pinkies out" dining experience, you've come to the wrong spot. Like, way wrong. This is the kind of place where your dating profile picture might accurately depict you awkwardly holding a delicious, overstuffed burrito with sauce on your cheek. And honestly? I wouldn't have it any other way. The food is great, bordering on "I'm pretty sure I just transcended" levels of tasty. And don't even get me started on the fusion – it's like a culinary Frankenstein's monster, but in the best possible way. The Korean add-ons? Shut up and take my money. Seriously, whoever thought of that deserves a Nobel Peace Prize for flavor. Plus, they're not stingy with the portions, which means you're getting a generous helping of deliciousness. No sad, lonely burritos here. Now, for the "grab and go" reality check. The service is fast, so fast you might get whiplash from the sheer speed of your order being taken and fulfilled. You can even watch them whip up your food right there at the window, which is either fascinating or slightly terrifying depending on how hungry you are. But here's the kicker: the line. It can get long. We're talking "forming a small, hungry village" long. And once you've got your delicious bounty, don't expect to sprawl out in a plush armchair. There are very few seats, so embrace the "eat standing up like a sophisticated scavenger" vibe or plan to picnic on the nearest park bench.
Just go there. Go there and experience it. It's so good and they give you so much. They obviously excel at Syrian and Korean cuisine, but the fusion!? That's what NYC is really about and these guys nail it with everything on the menu. They even had some incredible clove and cardamom tea that went perfect with the Korean pancake we had for dessert.
The food here is delicious!! You MUST try the veggie plate, it’s got all the good stuff. Great flavor, huge portion , I got delivery and everything was packaged nice and tight, no spillage . Can’t wait to try more of their stuff.
Really loved everything we tried. I ordered a sampler box and my bf ordered the chicken kebab shawarma. I plan to come back to try more of the korean banchan and kimbap. It’s a little more expensive than an average shawarma, but the servings are huge, all the flavors including seasoning of meat, sauces, etc is so on point, its definitely worth the price point. Highly recommend, will be back soon. Great fusion though unexpected.
Flavorful sujok sandwich with fries. Sausage was well spiced, and the pickles inside tasted homemade! The hot sauce was super delicious! Very friendly and casual on a chilly winter afternoon. Wish I had time and room to eat more! I’ll be back— Convenient to Prospect Park!
Vibes were amazing and the food was crazy good! felt very comfortable and I could tell it was a family all hands in type of place because we met so many people. Fries were crazy good - and the beef bulgogi was fab. Service was awesome! Really cool place def will try to be back
This little place is a true blessing. After a very long day of travelling in from Philly and doing activities around crazy times sq, finally a welcoming face and a quiet place to eat! Being an anxious traveler, I was grateful. I ordered chicken shawarma hotteok at the suggestion of the kind gentleman who helped us, and it was absolutely delicious and unlike anything I've had. (Aforementioned fellow was also very helpful and patient towards a woman with diet restrictions). It's fun to shop for snacks, drinks, and ingredients while things get made - but the service was very quick, so it's not much of a "wait". They have an open kitchen that looks refreshingly clean and orderly. We sampled the home-brewed cardamom tea and kimchi soup, and if we had room we would've ordered both. Thanks SYKO! Happy holidays!
I've picked up a quick lunch and also end of day 'too good to go' meals several times over the past 6-9 months and the service is always friendly and the food fresh and delicious and always reasonably priced. I love to get 5 mini pies, assorted fillings and toppings and if you're throwing a little party or gathering, you can't go wrong with a dozen of these, warmed and cut into 3-4 pieces, it's the nicest easiest appetizer ever.
Love the atmosphere and staff was lovely. But the lamb of smash lamb burger doesn’t smell good and doesn’t taste good and not crispy. And im a lamb person.
I travel to this area twice a year from Austin, Texas and Krupa is a mandatory stop. Consistency is always there. My go to is the lamb burger and fingerlings and sometimes a salad. Sounds corny but their Coca Cola from the fountain is especially great .
This place is consistently good and a neighborhood staple. They have a variety of items that can appeal to different palates, especially if you're trying to have brunch with a whole bunch of friends who want different things. Customer service is also lovely. I recommend the gnocchi bolognese, lemon ricotta pancakes, THE BRUSSEL SPROUTS (!!!), THE CURRY FINGERLING POTATOES (!!!), and shrimp burger.
I can't speak to the food, but this my go-to coffee spot for an iced Kyoto style coffee. I fyou haven't had one, try it! Reasonably priced at a flat $4 as well. Friendly people behind the bar, and beautiful atmosphere inside / out in the backyard. EDIT: I can now speak to the food and it is EXCELLENT.
When we have company we always take them to Krupa, it's our go-to for special occasions or to celebrate having survived the week. Great brunch great dinner great coffees and pastry, cocktails, etc. The outdoor patio is fantastic in good weather and has heaters and a retractable covering for bad weather. My meat-eating spouse is always very happy with the seasonal variations in the burgers and steak, and I enjoy the vegetarian/vegan options. I've never seen anyone less than thrilled with anything on the menu. IIRC there are several gluten-free options and substitutions. We arranged to bring a group of ~10 and had a great experience, and while we didn't end up using their wedding reception-sized options they looked good too. Very popular so make a reservation.
As soon as I saw the lamb burger...I was all in! It didn't disappoint!👌🏾 It was ground lamb but also gyro cuts of lamb as well. There was a yummy sauce too! The waiter was tickled as he heard me trying to figure out the ingredients. I hit the nail on the head with my observations! I paired it with an arugula salad. Delicious! Our server was lovely.
This restaurant was a delightful surprise. The double lamb burger was imaginative and rich in flavor, with a well-balanced sauce that complemented the distinct taste of lamb beautifully. The texture of the lamb itself was unique and refined, making this burger absolutely worth trying. The fried baby potatoes, recommended by our waitress, were another highlight. Trust me — they were far more interesting and satisfying than ordinary fries, with a wonderfully crispy exterior and a hearty bite. Truly excellent. The dessert provided a perfect finish to the meal — a wonderful combination of chocolate, peanut butter, and marshmallow, offering layers of flavor without being overly sweet or overwhelming the ingredients. The service was attentive, thoughtful, and perfectly paced — never rushed, never dragging. All in all, it was a thoroughly satisfying dining experience.
What a great experience for an early dinner. Potato wedges and chicken wings to start. As a party of 6 we ordered the Nashville shrimp burger, the angus burger, ceviche, beets, Krupa fondu, etc. We also ordered three desserts including the chocolate tart, the pumpkin spice, and the pot de creme. We happened to go on a Sunday night during vinyl night. So stoked to hear old David Bowie during dinner.
GREAT FOOD, GREAT DRINKS, GREAT ATMOSPHERE 👨🍳 Been coming to Krupa for many years and it’s a very versatile restaurant bar that does not disappoint in any way. Whether you’re meeting someone for morning coffee ☕️ with breakfast in the backyard or a larger group at night for cocktails 🍹 and small plates to share; Krupa is a solid choice. The drinks are extensive and very good list of beers and spirits. Great place for a date but also a good place to kick back solo at the bar for dinner. All the dishes are a must try. Tip: they actually do have tasty chicken nuggets so if you want to order for your 👦🏻 or you can also just order for yourself too (they’re good). In any case, highly recommend Krupa ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I would like a backyard like their. So well decorated and amazing atmosphere. Food is amazing delicious and beautiful. My friend ordered and it’s meant for sharing with friends. I love the wings. Service is okie. In the backyard, they don’t really check on you much but it’s okie. Atmosphere is great.
I had a delicious lunch today at Krupa Grocery in Windsor Terrace. The food and service were spot on (thank you Kaitlin and Armando) ~ even the manager, Tom, came by our table to be sure everything exceeded our expectations! This tastefully decorated restaurant is comfortable and features a beautiful backyard as well as tables and a bar. We began with two refreshing Arnold Palmers, then split orders of chicken liver pate deviled eggs and and risotto balls. Both were fresh and bursting with flavor. My buddy then had a shrimp burger and I the angus beef burger accompanies with their salt and vinegar & curry fingerlings (potatoes). My one minor suggestion would be to ask for the burger with a bit less of the sauce because as delicious as it was, it tended to mask the exceptional quality of the burger itself. For dessert we made room for their s'more pie that was decadently good and went well with their delicious brewed coffee that I had or the cappuccino my buddy went with. Top of my to do list for next visit will be the lemon ricotta pancakes! Thank you Krupa Grocery for a beyond delicious lunch!
After a late afternoon visit with friends, they recommended that we would love having dinner at Krupa Grocery . And they were absolutely right! We had such a fabulous dinner that we are considering moving to this wonderful Brooklyn neighborhood that has so many wonderful restaurants. We started by sharing a “ yellow gazpacho” made with yellow tomatoes, cucumbers and “summer kiss melons”. Since we were sharing the soup, our server made sure for each of us to be served ( what seemed like) a bowl of the most delicious gazpacho we’ve enjoyed this summer. We also ordered Ricotta Gnocchi that was so tender with subtle flavors including basil, cherry tomatoes Pinot Grigio and black sesame seeds. I also thought I could taste a hint of orange zest. In any case it was a great choice. We also devoured a warm beet salad and crispy Brussel sprouts! Needless to say, while it was our first time dining at Krupa Grocery, we will definitely be back soon!
Great restaurant! A friend took us here as one of their favorite spots and I easily see why! The food was super tasty and the staff was so nice and professional. The laidback atmosphere with attention to details. The outdoor seating was covered and we didn’t even notice it feel the rain, which was awesome. It’s also heated in the back so that’s why the photos are so tinted. It felt warm though. Very nice experience and restaurant and definitely worth stopping in and checking out. They have some amazing vegan options too that are well thought out and crafted. So also consider them for that! Come on down and enjoy a tasty meal 😋
Yummy food and service. We stared off with the arancini. Most amazing I've ever had! I had the gnocchi and my friend had the green eggs and ham. I wanted to try the gnocchi because of all the wonderful reviews on it. Personally, I did not care for it. It had a taste of vinegar at the end of each bite that I did not care for. The Green Eggs and Ham on the other hand, was excellent! My friend was kind enough to switch with me. We also tried their chocolate cake and I had a cappuccino. Both were amazing! I would definitely come back here, just not for the gnocchi.
Really dope place! Super friendly owners helped walk me through the menu because admittedly, I was overwhelmed by the options. I don’t live near here and the vast menu made me to go a tiny bit overboard. I started with the kimchi soup, superb! I got the 3 baked goods for $9.99: sfiha, za’atar, muhammara. All great and reheated well. Probably the only thing I didn’t love was the fatboy sandwich. It’s held together by a Korean pancake that was charred in some parts and undercooked in other parts. If you just want something to stuff your belly, this is for you. I also wish it was wrapped with foil only; the paper wrapping was impossible to peel off. Leftovers were better because I was able to deconstruct it and cook the pancake more. Now my absolute favorite item was from the fusion menu. The beef shawarma hotteok was chef’s kiss! Holy hell, I can’t stop thinking about each crispy and flavor packed bite. I will definitely be back for this! Such a beautiful marriage of cuisines.
Interesting take on a fusion of both Syrian and Korean culture. The flavors of both blend well with each other and the menu design is rather thoughtful. I've gotten the falafel pizza and the flavors are so fresh and herbaceous the portion was rather large too so it was price appropriate. The vegetarian Hotteck Japchae is so flavorful as well, easily one of my favorite on the menu now.
The food looked and smelled so good we forgot to take a picture before diving in. Their fusion menu is fantastic. We recommend the Box Sampler. Note that this is definitely a take out place. While they have some seating, it is limited and we didn’t see a restroom available for customers either. That said, you must try SYKO! Very delicious and unique.
Korean-Syrian food? Never heard of it and had to try it! Note this is more of a takeout place rather than sitting and dining - there is only one 3 person table inside and outside only 3 bar chairs. Like most, when I first saw the prices I was a little shocked. Two fat boys sandwiches paid in cash was $40! But once I got the food - oh boy they are LARGE portions. One fat boy can easily feed two people - so if you're trying to save money just buy one and split it between the two of you. I am also sure their pizza and combo plates could easily feed two as well. As a vegetarian, I appreciated all the vegetarian options. I got the tofu kimchi fat boy which consisted of outside being a thick scallion pancake and filling inside being fried tofu coated in cornstarch batter, kimchi, yellow pickled radish, lettuce and rice. It was extremely flavorful! And I loved the sauces that went along with it - if you love a little spice get the habanero sauce on the side (it's not just spicy it has almost a creamy element that I enjoyed greatly). It also came with gochujang sweet sauce and a more almost Chinese based chili oil sauce. I do wish the scallion pancake was more flaky (it's a little thick for my taste) but dipped in sauce was quite yummy. My husband got the beef bulgogi fat boy and loved it. You do save about 12-13 cents per item if you pay in cash, but they do accept card. Parking metered all around.
I stopped in just for a beer and a quick bite, and it was a solid experience. It’s nice to see a place where you can still get a draft beer for only $7. I ordered the homemade chicken nuggets, which were really good: fresh, hot, and clearly made in-house. They came with honey, which was a nice touch, though I think a little hot sauce would really take them to the next level. The staff was pretty friendly and welcoming, and overall the vibe was laid-back. I’d definitely come back again. The shrimp burger seems to get rave reviews, and that’s next on my list.
Really cute place with indoor and outdoor seating. We went for brunch. Coffee was good (a little bit cold), we had a mistake with our orders (both) but they made them again. Green eggs on toast were great. Eggs with gnocchi was nice, spice could be a little thicker. Service was very friendly and the place has a nice cool atmosphere. Backyard looks so cool. Reservations are available for brunch as well.
Food was okay. I think it’s cool to try but the flavors weren’t the best for me. The shawarma pizza had beef and strong spices and wasn’t something I’d get again. The falafel kind of reminded me of bean sprouts. My fav was the chicken shawarma wrap. Pretty pricey
The food is so delicious here. Fantastic all the way but now they are just too expensive. A wrap with fries and a soda is now $30.00 on Seamless. That is just not sustainable.
