Tried this place out a few months ago, amazing service and quality of food!
The food was so delicious, I had a really bad experience in a different pho restaurant but this place was soo good. The broth was really hearty and flavorful, it wasn’t oily or bland at all. The customer service was A+, our waitress was so polite and thoughtful, she always asked me and my friends if we were okay with the food and told us about the food. I loved my experience, everything was clean, the restaurant is cozy and super homey. The portion is really good and the price is average for a pho restaurant. I love this place, i’ll definitely come back often !
I was seated immediately at around eight as just one person. The ambiance is bright and cozy. The service was pretty decent, and the pork rolls were good. The beef slices over white rice were thin and crispy, but they are overly salty. Overall it was a good experience and worth a visit or few, but I don’t think I would return regularly! I might try out some other things on the menu some other day though. The dipping sauce was also subpar.
This is comfy Viet restaurant for me in NYC. Most authentic Viet restaurant around 8 avenue area. I’ve been going since 2018, and witnessed through many recipe changes. I gotta say, the soft shell crab 🦀 for the Bánh Canh Cua is really top notch 🫡 I wish they change back to the more chewy tapioca noodle though. The BBH and the Bò lúc lắc here is also very good. Definitely their top 3 must try here imo. Plus the flan 🍮 the broken rice and rice crepe is okay, I only get them if I’m really craving (rice is not broken rice, rice crepe is a bit thick), but overall still very good 👍🏻
genuinely surprised, what is this Vietnamese restaurant that popped up in the neighborhood and also chained out to Staten Island, has a lot of interesting flavors representing the classic Vietnamese dishes that they serve, which include the ban cuon, bun bo hue, and pho dac biet, also ca phe sua da, but overall flavors are actually good and it's a great value as well. so will add this to my repertoire, fair warning. it's a lot of food so better off sharing if you can. tips, for bun bo hue it can get spicy so avoid adding too many jalapenos, I do respect that they provide different condiments between the bun bo hue and pho and the meat is really tender for both dishes, and the ban cuon is like a banh xeo without doing the additional work and it has that crisp and flavor, in the iced coffee is satisfying and huge
The pho broth here is nice and tasty with the right amount of beef fat in it. Go for the Pho Dac Biet 🍜 and also the have nice appetizers. Don’t expect Texas or California quality Vietnamese food here but it’s pretty good for NYC which notoriously has bad Vietnamese food. But Pho 60 is pretty good. The atmosphere is typical shabby style in Chinatown Brooklyn. Nothing nice. Nothing romantic. Just a bare bones place to eat a lot of good Vietnamese food.
*update: For such a trying time for a food lover, like now, Pho 60 is a good choice. Andy has taken steps and time to make his restaurant a comfortable and safe place to eat. The tables are very comfortable distanced, they have plenty of ventilation, the location is quiet and not crowded, there's hand sanitizer aplenty, and the staff is fully masked. The above is very nice, especially at night, with strings of lights and music playing. The food was good before but now it has gotten even better. Good job Andy! I haven't had a chance to try the rest, and I can't say that I know what authentic vietnamese food is, but I can say that I've eaten a lot of New York Viet food, and the broth here definitely taste a lot cleaner. Based on the other reviews, I can't wait to go back for some dessert, pork chops and bo luc lac. Regarding, the 1 star review for a shake, I think that's a bit of a overreaction. She should go back and try the food before giving them only 1 star, c'mon! *edit: I forgot to comment on the atmosphere. The atmosphere here is a much needed change then the 8th avenue Chinatown. The restaurant is clean, decor is upscale, and I heard that the owner renovated himself to ensure it was done right. Update: i went back and tried the crab soup. Really good! And, they have a cotton candy machine for the kids.
The very few places open and OMG!! I was impressed. I ordered the beef roll vermicelli and 4 sitting rolls with peanut sauce. The spring rolls were tasty and delicious. The peanut sauce was perfect- not too thick not too sweet. The fish sauce was yummy especially with my meal. Not salty or too sweet. And they gave me a side of beautiful leafy green salads and carrot strips. The veggie were crisp and color full and yummy. I rolled my spring roll in the leafy greens and dipped it in the peanut sauce. Delicious! But the icing on the cake was the beef roll. It was rolled over sauteed onions. What a creative way to serve me favorite combination.
Ordered delivery👍. Food came on time and it was like what i expected. I got their angel hair wrap, their summer roll as well as the ice drink/dessert they have. The angel hair wrap comes with a bag of a few sheets of rice paper, another bag with lettuce and some pickled carrots and turnip along with mint leaves, paired with the steamed noodles and the grilled pork. It was good and fun to eat. Their summer roll was good too (other reason to get wraps on wraps was cause I wanted the peanut sauce for my wraps with angel hair 😅). My favorite part of this meal was the ice dessert; it has ice, coconut milk(?), some sweet peanuts, red beans, some other type of sweet bean and then jelly 😋. Overall everything was very refreshing.
Came for dinner with some family. We usually order the typical vietnamese appetizers with a soup and a rice. The pork chop was pretty good but the summer roll was smaller than expect and it looked like it was missing ingredients. The soup was big and was enough for 2. The broth was a bit bland. We also ordered a pancake which was uninteresting. The service was good. Overall, it was ok.
Pho 60 offers a solid Vietnamese takeout experience with thoughtful touches. The grilled beef roll with angel hair was familiar and satisfying, though not particularly standout. The Banh Khot, however, was a pleasant surprise—crispy, flavorful, and a rarity on most menus. What sets Pho 60 apart is the inclusion of all the classic accompaniments, especially the rice paper, which I always appreciate. A dependable spot with a few unexpected delights.
I’ve lived around the area and never even noticed when this place came about. The decor is okay, slightly unctuous. But that’s not where they lost a star. It’s the spring roll. I’ve never had spring roll that has almost no, or very little pork, with taro (a type of potato yam). It just wasn’t good. I’m glad we only got the small portion and came with four rolls. The pho was good. The beef cube with rice was good. The calamari was also pretty good but the coating was slightly thick. One of the staffer was really short and snappy with customers. I mean, overall, the quality of food is alright and their to go and Delivery orders are constant. But that’s still no way to treat customers.
The entrance had a small sushi stand on the side up on entering. Cute decor inside, but the AC was not on when we were there on an August afternoon! The Viet ice coffee was OK, nothing great or horrible. The portions were huge, even the extra noodles. It's was in a big bowl alone. The spring rolls were subpar, as if the everything was well minced all together. Would be wiling to try again to see if it would be better.
It seems like I get treated differently here. The food is great. I really love their pho although the portion is just a bit small. I haven't had a bad dish yet. However, they just don't seem to like me. The waitresses fill my water only halfway while she filed my friends water all the way. There is one guy who seems to be the owner, walked around and asked other people how their meal was except my table. Another time I came here, there was a line and I was next however, I guess one of his friends came and he gave them the table first. Which is fine I guess. Another time the kitchen was busy and I guess they got the order of who ordered first messed up because some tables who sat after we ordered got their food first. It's a weird experience for me but dam the food is good.
I ordered a pork spring roll vermicelli and the spring roll was cold, tasted off, and didn’t seem fresh. When I called, the staff denied the issue instead of helping. Very disappointed with the food quality and response.
Saw the reviews and thought to try this place out since I was a fellow viet myself, but looks like the one star reviews were right. The food is not authentic and they were super rude, badmouthing the customers, weird looks and treats you differently depending on what you look or your party. I went with my friend and was treated terribly. My drink had a strand of hair in it? The pho was extremely small and the amount of noodles they give you is enough to only feed a 10 year old. The inside was extremely hot, the fans weren’t helping. Inside felt cramped and the table was dirty, when given 15% tip they returned the check back to us and demanded we tip 20% What a way to treat customers? Terrible, do not recommend and do not come here if you’re looking for authentic viet food.
A single word, just no. This place has been going downhill and has just been getting worse, they’re getting greedy, rude and utterly terrible food. Food tastes bland and they overcharge you in the bill, less portions, a paper in my drink?? They will talk bad about you if you tip 15% or no tip at all. They should be grateful anyone is even tipping them, 15% is too much for the service they’re giving. No effort and WILL stare at you rudely and harass you for a large amount of tip, do not recommend and please stay far away from this place. They do not deserve to run a restaurant if they’re like this.
This review is strictly for their Hainanese chicken. For 18 dollars (including delivery), this was incredibly unacceptable and disappointing. As you can see from the pictures, the portion was incredibly small and the only two piece of dark chicken meat was 95% bone. Imagine paying close to 20 bucks for dead end pieces of chicken...it's highly frustrating and unprofessional. Please stay clear away from this dish and if they carry the same mentality towards their other dishes, I can't foresee them being any good. Thank you for reading and good luck; maybe try somewhere else if you're craving Vietnamese food (:
