Neighborhood staple. Some of the best fried chicken you’ll have, especially in the area. Highly recommend getting the banana crème pie if they have it also!

Great place to go for breakfast. The biscuits are amazing. I personally also like the burnt end beans. The service was also really good

Oh wow, maybe the best fried chicken in NYC! The chicken is perfectly brined and the skin is both crispy, light and flaky. I definitely recommend adding the buttermilk mashed potatoes which are made from real potatoes. Another must order side is the honey butter for the biscuits which are the perfect complement. Overall it probably doesn't get better than this!

Came here for the first time as I'd heard good reviews, and they were right! Staff here are lovely and the fried chicken and waffles were to die for- especially the blueberry preserves! The banana cream pie was recommended to me by the staff, and it was truly delicious. Will definitely be back next time I'm in NY.

A
Alex Reyes

The hot n sweet Chicken Biscuit was delicious, I recommend adding a couple eggs on top. They have no espresso but their coffee is decent and they offer unique beverages like their sour cherry lemonade. Service was mid, but very quick! Oh and the cinnamon roll was great, it isn't too sweet like most cinnamon rolls. Will be back to try out their alcohol.

Great small venue! Top notch food. If you don't get a chicken biscuit from here, you're missing out. Great value and excellent food!

The food was Amazing!!! The place is small but you can eat outside as well if the weather is nice. The staff is friendly. I will definitely recommend this place to everyone.

I love coming here for brunch or late evening for a quick bite to eat. You have to try the catfish with cheese grits or the chicken sandwich with honey butter… it’s banging!

Great service, delicious food and excellent pie! The cost of meals were a little pricey but the quality was superb. The green dressing for rotisserie chicken reminded me of a Peruvian style. The tarter sauce was oh so tasty. Fried catfish wasn't too salty or greasy. Definitely going back when I want to treat myself. Just know inside is a bit small but tons of outdoor dining space on a nice day. Oh Watermelon Agua Fresca hit da spot!

Stayed at a hotel nearby and it was a chilly June night. Luckily we found this place around the corner and we were able to get a table inside. Our waiter was really nice, I got the cheese burger with fries and he got the fried chicken sandwich with a side of Mac and cheese. We also got the Mexican style corn. Not pictured is the margaritas we got, they were okay they tasted more like a juice mix with tequila in it. My burger was sooooo freaking good omg and the fries were like Mc’Donald’s fries but better. He enjoyed the fried chicken sandwich he gave it a 7.5/8 out of 10. We didn’t get a dessert cause they ran out of cookies and only had pies left but I definitely would come back for that burger alone.

When I first walked in you do notice the desserts, which are their donuts, looked amazing! Also pretty big. They had seating in the back which is where we sat. Our waitress was definitely friendly and helpful and made suggestions. My meal was amazing! Loved the chicken biscuit. The Mac and cheese I feel could have been better honestly, definitely will consider a different side next time. Overall, great food! Even got the donut on the way out! Lol

Headed to NYC for my birthday weekend. I really don’t know what to say except we had an awesome meal at Pies and Thighs. Don’t be fooled by the entrance to this place as they have back rooms for larger groups. Our party of 5 had plenty of elbow room. We ordered all the doughnuts to share and surprisingly the cherry filled was all our favorite. Other than that we ordered chicken, egg varieties and i e other type steak that I can’t remember the name but was fantastic. (See pictures below). Go here!!

Ive heard about pies n thighs for years but just never tried it , but then when the carboholic posted about the cinnamon roll last year I intentionally put pies n thighs on my radar and today i finally tried it! cinnamon roll was sweet not too sweet and not dry at all! waffle was fluffy and the plant based chicken flavorful as well as the flaky yet firm biscuit

Had the Chicken Box which comes with 3 pieces, a Biscuit, and a side ( I chose cornbread) THE BEST!!! Arguably the best fried chicken I’ve ever had, it was crispy and moist on the inside. The biscuit was flaky and buttery!!! Make sure you ask for honey butter, I’m already planning my next trip, Delicious Southern Food!!! :)

LOVED breakfast here. We started with the donuts - chocolate and plum stuffed bar - which were sensational. Chocolate was indulgent and brownie like, the bar was less intense but still really good. The corned beef and smoked pork hash were both great. Yummy rosemary potatoes with tasty meat. Eggs were slightly overdone, but the dishes were still really good. The biscuit with honey butter was one of the best I've had, and the fried chicken was delicious. The only thing that missed were the buckwheat waffles - a bit dry and not very exciting. Finished with the pie, which was an excellent decision. And the prices were good ( for the area at least) to boot. Highly recommended.

First time coming here and I will definitely be coming back! I had the chicken biscuit while my boyfriend has the chicken and waffles. We shared a side of Mac & cheese. Everything was great! My chicken cutlet was crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The honey butter and hot sauce made for a nice balance of spicy and sweet. Also had the apple pie to finish off our meal, and would recommend that too!

If you are in Brooklyn and don't eat here I'm sorry for your loss. The atmosphere is great. Friendly and helpful staff with quaint little tables. We started with a cinnamon roll that was literally from outer space. Moved on to some sweet and sour meatballs. Excellent. Then we split a box of fried chicken w one of the best biscuits I've ever had. Not like a traditional southern biscuit at all. Lighter and filled with flavor in every single bite. The fried chicken was also outstanding. Left with a slice of banana cream pie that was downright silly good. A true New York eating experience that just will leave your belly full and a huge smile on your face.

I have been ordering from this place for years, and have never been disappointed! Last night I got the catfish box. The fish was delicious and the mac-n-cheese and coleslaw, as always, were amazing. I have never been let down by this spot. They did take the Super Bowl off the menu, I think, and that was my go to but I'll get over it ;)

Most fantastic fried chicken I’ve ever had. Comes with a biscuit and a side. A slice of pie after is a must

Homey feel. Friendly people & atmosphere. The food is delicious especially the chicken it's juicy & tender. I hàve the collard greens & mac n cheese ot mashed potatoes. Let me not the dinner buns baked with honey butter. Try it and I'm sure you'll return as I have.

Super crunchy fried chicken. I was so impressed by how crunchy it was and how well marinated it was too. Definitely one of the top fried chickens I’ve ever had. Was interesting because I heard the table next door came all the way from jersey for this chicken so I was pretty happy that in the land of fried chicken I came to the right place. At first I was confused by the waffles with it but it actually complemented each other quite well. If I’m ever in New York I’ll make sure I’m back here for my fried chicken

Came in on Sunday night and they were able to seat us right away. Geneva took care of us and was so attentive and lovely! She recommended the fried pickles as an appetizer. They were THE best fried pickles. I got the chicken biscuit which came out drenched and beautiful. My FIL got the catfish sandwich and loved it, my MIL got the chicken delight and also loved it. We finished everything on the table. My only critique of the night was that the blueberry gin cooler was too sweet, but that’s also what a cooler is so that’s not a knock on them. Odd note: the bathrooms smelt incredible and were clean.

Awesome southern food with a NYC twist. This place has a unique menu and specializes in exactly what you think, homemade pies and extra crispy fried chicken among other great dishes. The food is always fresh and the service is always great. With a diverse customer base this spot hits home for all with there home styled creations and new age mentality. Fried chicken is a must but some other menu items are sure to please, like the catfish sandwich and grilled cheese. Dont forget to get some dessert, I recommend the banana creme pie!!!

Great place love their concept and the food was awesome, well balanced and flavorful. Also cooked to perfection and nicely seasoned. The staffs are friendly, helpful and nice. Atmosphere is cool and laid back. Overall great food and people, I suggest getting the fried chicken thighs and waffles.

Delicious pastries, pies, and brunch. The chicken and biscuits and the fish and grits were excellent. The chicken and waffles were ok, but the waffles were definitely denser and more grain-heavy than I was expecting. Service was friendly and the managed the wait very well.

Pies N Thighs was a unique dining experience. Went this past weekend after finding it on a list of the top 100 restaurants to dine at in New York. It is a quaint little shop in Brooklyn, just over the bridge. We arrived between 4 and 5 PM (during the hours the restaurant was closed). Got to have a nice walk around the surrounding businesses in the neighborhood. The restaurant is a bit on the smaller side, seating no more than 20-25 people at a time. The hostess came out 10 minutes before they were scheduled to-open for dinner and started coordinating seating arrangements by number of people in a party. The small crowd that was gathered was all seated within 10 to 15 minutes. The menu was limited but still offered great options and value. We went with the famed chicken biscuit and sides of mac n cheese, and corn bread. The chicken was breaded with a flaky, almost pie like crust, the meat was juicy and had a fresh taste. The biscuit was flaky and delicious. The corn bread was moist and the in house made jam was a perfect touch. Polite staff and quick service. If you find yourself in the area, I highly recommend the experience.

This restaurant is everything other reviewer say it is. The fried chicken and some of the best in the city and I highly suggest getting the bourbon pecan pie. One insider tip is that if you get the chicken basket you can add extra pieces à la cart at a reasonable price.

Everything was perfect. Never had better fried chicken. The waffles were bomb. The waitress were kind and polite, the Bloody Mary was excellent. This will be a good memory of my New York visit.

This place fills up quickly so it’s definitely best to get a reservation, but after having a meal here you could see why. Portions are great, and the food doesn’t take very long to come out but it’s always steaming and fresh. Highly recommend the chicken biscuit, smothered in hot sauce and honey butter (it does get a bit messy but so worth it). The Renegade is a great but simple drink that’ll settle your stomach for everything you’re bound to eat. If you still have room, the banana cream pie is a decent slice that doesn’t feel heavy and is a great way to satisfy your sweet tooth.

J

Wow we were probably lucky because our waiter was awesome! The service was great and speedy. Food quality is high. Our biscuits arrived hot and crispy. I can’t believe I was able to try a vegan chick’n biscuit. The bourbon butter pecan pie slice is probably a 6.5/10. But all else, and our nice and thoughtful waiter who checked in with us constantly and gave us iced tap water to go is super thoughtful. Made our experience 10/10.

As a North Carolina-to-NYC transplant, I have moments where I absolutely CRAVE biscuits. And I don’t mean just any biscuit. I mean the real deal — it’s buttery, it’s fluffy, it’s got texture, it’s NOT cakey. Now that I’m 9months pregnant, this craving sometimes turns into a ravenous desire for a honey butter chicken biscuit, which one truly cannot get outside of the south — until now. I am SO thankful I stumbled upon this restaurant when researching where in the city I could get a honey butter chicken biscuit. I’ve had it with both hot sauce and without — both ways are delicious, but one is a little easier on my pregnancy reflux. I have to give a big shoutout to the cheesy grits sides (be sure to add salt and pepper) which are fantastic and taste like home, as well as the spicy black eyed pea salad! Again, not the easiest on my reflux, but so dang delicious. Very much looking forward to having more of that once the baby is here. Also the fried pickles — omg. My husband thoroughly enjoyed their fried chicken box while my sister devoured the biscuits and gravy. True biscuits and gravy — no cutting corners here. Great coffee, I’ve also heard the bloody Mary’s are great (again, looking forward to having when baby is here). Highly recommend the trek out to BK for this one.

Always a nice place to go back to when I’m in the area. Very good comfort food. I definitely recommend the chicken & waffles, so yummy! They serve with a berry compote & cinnamon honey butter which is awesome! This time we also tried the buffalo biscuit & it was AMAZING. The texture & flavor was spot on. So glad we ended up ordering it.

Delicious fried chicken and southern sides! 4 of us had brunch in this small but delicious spot. Seating is limited so come early, but the food is fantastic! The fried chicken was great and all the sides were delicious. The two downsides were that the staff forgot about us (it took 20mins to get our orders in), and the desserts are a little too sweet for our taste. But they were switching shifts and some might like the sweeter sweets.

H

Amazing chicken biscuit, very buttery and comes with hot sauce too. We also got a donut which was pretty good as well

So delicious! I loved my chicken and waffles, I also tried the mac and cheese which was so tasty. Chimichurri broccoli appetizer - highly recommend!!! This was the second place I ate at during my first ever trip to NYC (visiting from Seattle). My tastebuds have been forever changed!

I’ve been wanting to go this restaurant for years because not only do they have homemade fried chicken but it was the pies that I was dying to try. To have the chance to eat homemade pie in a New York City restaurant sounded so fantastic to me. My best friend wanted to have breakfast here so he got there before me and when I finally arrived, he said he wanted to order the entire menu. Lol! I couldn’t blame him when I saw the menu myself. There was so many things I wanted to try. I couldn’t decide. Lol! We both decided to have the fried chicken box. He got the grits and I got the Mac and cheese. I ordered the egg and cheese on a biscuit. My friend ordered the Rob Evan’s. That sausage gravy was so delicious! My friend noticed that they put rosemary in the gravy which gave it a more delicious flavor. He said he was going to use that idea when he makes his own gravy. The fried chicken was so juicy. It was delicious! I loved the biscuits! Really tasted homemade! I got the sour cherry lemonade which was refreshing. Then we ordered some pie. How could we have not? Lol! I got the banana cream pie and he ordered the bourbon pecan pie. They were both delicious. We both loved the food so much that we ordered food to take home. We both agreed that we are definitely coming back again. There are so many things I still want to try. I want to try the cornbread. The cinnamon rolls. The donuts. More pies! I’m so happy this restaurant far exceeded my expectations. I would have been so disappointed if the food wasn’t all that it was hyped up to be. I have nothing negative to say about anything in this restaurant. The service was very good. I 100% recommend it to everyone.

Out and about with my wife in Williamsburg, we were looking for a place to get something to eat. I remembered my wife saying she always wanted to try this place after we heard about it years ago on tv, but we never made the time. It was a nice beautiful day, so we decided to try them. We asked if we could sit outside and were given time to look over the menu. Our waitress was patient and sweet. We ordered a 3 piece box of chicken with 2 sides and salads. We had the mac & cheese and the mashed potatoes. The skin on the chicken was nice and crispy. My wife destroyed the mac & cheese as well as the mashed potatoes (we had to order another set so I could try some). The biscuits that we had came with honey butter. That thing was awesome. We also ordered a chocolate chip cookie, the pecan donut, a slice of bourbon pecan pie slice and a banana cream pie slice. Both pies were tasty (my first time having banana cream pie and it was well worth it. The pecan pie slice crust was a bit tough but overall it was good too). We wouldn't mind trying them out again. If ever in the Williamsburg area, try this place out.

This spot is ground zero for the itis, so come prepared cause the food will put you to bed! Best donuts ive ever had, best cookie ive ever had, and best pie ive ever had, and i may be dramatic but i am not exaggerating! Staff are friendly, the spot is cozy, and its just a good time without fail!

Their pies! I count my lucky stars that Pies and Thighs bake fabulous Apple Pies, Sour Cherry and Pear Pies as well as Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pies. I am going to order Banana Cream Pie this weekend and eventually request for a whole pie made of all 4 delicious flavors for Easter Sunday brunch. Régis from the takeout crew has quite outstanding finesse in working orders as well as packaging. Congratulations, Brooklyn, on having one more to add to its claim as the birth place of top American pies! Thank you for the occasional teleportation to heaven, PNT! 🥧👏🗽

Came here with my mom today and it is her favorite spot to eat. The food is delicious! Although the space is small they accommodate you and still make you feel comfortable. I absolutely loved my meal at Pies n’ Thighs! The combination of crispy chicken tenders with the incredible, buttery biscuit was heavenly comfort food. The baked beans were the perfect savory side. I finished with a slice of their pecan pie, which was rich and perfectly sweet. Highly recommend!

Hands-down the best fried chicken in NYC: juicy, crispy, deeply flavorful, and generously portioned. The pies are just as impressive, especially the banana cream. Genuine staff, reasonable prices.

I want to share a little appreciation for the kindness I experienced at Pies and Thighs today. Natalia was incredibly sweet, patient, and genuinely helpful. I didn’t enjoy the sample of the sour cherry lemonade, and she kindly helped me switch to regular lemonade without any hassle. What really stood out was her warmth and attentiveness — she made the experience feel personal and welcoming. She even convinced me to try a cinnamon bun, and honestly, it turned out to be the highlight of my day. Sometimes it’s the small moments of kindness and good food that make everything feel a little brighter. Thank you, Natalia, for being so kind and making my visit special.

I had a quick order and puck up in this sweet place and couldn’t be happier with the service provided along with the food quality. From the first seconds I entered the place I got this warm, homie, cozy dinner feeling. Girls who work here are super nice. One of them helped me with my order customization as I don’t eat all the ingredients offered initially on the menu. She was very understanding and real professional. Food was prepared clean and fast. I lived the sandwich I ordered. There were some tempting pies on display. One of the tables was a family with little kids and they all were having a blast! The rest of the guests also seemed to be very comfortable. You could tell this place is more than just a place to grab a bite. Definitely coming back. Prices are fair, flavor was amazing, people and the facility also amazing!

Pies n’ Thighs was fantastic!!! My boyfriend and I came in to dine in on a Thursday evening and there was plenty of room to sit, although there is not much seating in the restaurant as a whole. We started off with a lemonade, a sour cherry lemonade, and the fried pickles. I had the sour cherry lemonade and it was great - super sweet and sour, very tart. It tasted like real sour cherry, not the artificial stuff. My boyfriend said his lemonade was great too. The pickles were good, but the true stand-out of the pickle dish was the ranch. I LOVE ranch. Leavitt St Tavern (in Chicago), Wing Stop, and Lou Malnati’s (Chicago) rank among my top ranches, and I have to say - Pies n’ Thighs ranks up there with the top few. Their ranch was so so so good I got extra for my chicken as well. For mains, my boyfriend had the Chicken Biscuit, I had 3 tenders, and we got three sides to share including mashed potatoes, mac n’ cheese, and a biscuit. My boyfriend loved the chicken biscuit (though the portion was a little small, although reasonably priced), and my chicken tenders were super crispy and very very juicy. I also did not anticipate them being so big (twice the size of Cane’s!!!) and was only able to finish two - my boyfriend made himself a sandwich out of the extra biscuit and my third tender hahaha. The mac n’ cheese was not exceptional and was a little grainy (maybe they didn’t cook the flour out completely?), and neither were the mashed potatoes, BUT the biscuit is definitely worth your money. It’s soft and chewy on the inside, and so so crispy and crunchy on the outside. It’s probably the best biscuit I’ve ever had. And the honey butter that it comes with - FANTASTIC! The service was very nice too! We liked our waitress, and she was very very patient with a little toddler causing a bit of a ruckus hahaha sitting at the table beside us. Also, we forgot our leftover fried pickles on the way out, and she ran after us as we were standing on the corner of the street to hand them to us. Overall, this place is an 11/10! We’ll have to come back and try the pie - we didn’t have a chance to since we were so stuffed!!!

Everything was delicious and the service was great, the chicken biscuit was especially good. Our favourite side was the definitely the collards. Very glad I got a cinnamon roll to go! For sure will be back on a future visit to Williamsburg.

Classic diner atmosphere with good beverages and desserts. We got the vegetarian “chicken” biscuit and three sides - coleslaw, black eyed peas, and mac n cheese. The biscuit on which the chicken sandwich was served was hot and delicious, and it was dressed with a honey butter and hot sauce. The sides were good as well, though the mac n cheese was nothing to write home about. The real reason we came was the banana cream pie which was incredible - a perfect dessert. We also had a cup of coffee and the sour cherry lemonade.

Pies’n’Thighs is one of the best spots in Williamsburg for southern comfort food, handmade pastries and local craft beer. Their cinnamon roll is incredible - chefs kiss! It’s soft, buttery, you can tell they’re fresh from that morning - think Cinnabon but better. I’m always down for a sweet treat and everything here hits - the pies, the pecan crunch donut, ugh everything is just so good when it’s made from scratch and so much care. The Hippie Banjo for brunch (hello Sprouts!) and the Fried Catfish Plate are my other favorites. I love their sandwich bread (pro tip I think you can buy it) and the tarter sauce for that catfish is perfection. They also carry really good local craft beer from other half, evil twin and Grimm, which makes dinner and weekend brunch even better. The staff is always friendly and knowledgable- they know exactly what to recommend- the GM even told Me about their new ice cream shop, Heap’s Ice Cream ,where they use Pies’n’Thighs pastries for ice cream sandwiches (like what, def going next time) Last week I tried the chicken tenders (I think they’re only in house) and they were juicy, crunchy and full of flavor. The sauces were great too but I’m a Ranch girl through and through. The food and drinks give an elevated vibe at night, but it’s also the perfect cozy bakery to stop for coffee and pastries on the way to work. I highly recommend Pies’n’Thighs - good food, good vibes and the nicest staff.

Omg!! I was from out of town and saw this restaurant on yelp. It was within walking distance of my hotel. It’s cute. And everyone is super nice. I recommend the chick and waffles so tasty. And it was a lot of food. I want to come back and try the catfish and sour cherry and peach pie.

Come for the chicken stay for the pie. I got the chicken and waffles, it's bone in chicken very crispy taste great. The waffles are soft and come with some cinnamon butter and blueberries. I had never had c&w with blueberries but it adds such a nice flavor. I also got a slice of apple pie warmed up with ice cream. The apple pie is fresh and full of flavor, just the right amount of food not huge plates or huge slice. The rest of their pastries and menu look just as good, will be back and trying the biscuits.

Went here with a friend for dinner and it was a great experience overall. Food: I forgot to take photos (of the mains) but I had the chicken and waffles and it was so good! The chicken was cooked perfectly and seasoned to the tee. The waffles were soft but very flavorful as well. My friend and I split an old fashioned donut and the banana pie as well with extra cream! Make sure to ask for extra cream it really makes the desserts worth it! Service: Quick and fast! The staff always asked us if everything was good and if we needed anything extra. Atmosphere: Such a quiant little shop in Williamsburg! Gives a shop around the corner vies for sure. Would def come back!

I tried the chicken biscuit and cheese grits. That chicken biscuit sandwich was very good. The chicken cutlet was seasoned well, tender and juicy. My chicken came with honey and hot sauce on it. The top of the biscuit was crunchy and the middle was soft. That biscuit was good. The grits were very flavorful. I just had to add some pepper and sugar. I tried the butter pecan crunch donut 🍩 and that donut was very good. I definitely would recommend this restaurant to friends and family. Make sure to make a reservation before coming or you will not get a seat. The restaurant gets packed fast.

Went on a very cold winter day. I guess because the place is so small, the cold draft spread throughout; not many tables at all. The staff is friendly, and attentive. The Catfish overall was my favorite on the menu. Nice place to go on a weekday for brunch.

Fun spot. Really nice staff, attentive. I wasn’t impressed with my chicken and waffles (cold waffle and not a fan of the breading of chicken) but my partner liked her chicken sandwich a lot so I feel that four stars is a fair shake. If I lived nearby, id have to come back and try their pastries and cinnamon buns.

Where can a girl from Alabama find perfectly cooked, non stingy grits in NYC? This is the place! To top it off, there’s a couple other good veggie options on the menu like the veg chicken biscuit - can’t wait to try that next time!

"Mixed Feelings at Pie&Thigh Brooklyn" My visit to Pie&Thigh in Brooklyn had its ups and downs. Despite having high expectations, the chicken turned out a bit dry and lacked the expected flavor punch. The cozy ambiance and dessert were a plus, but I hoped for a tastier experience. While it didn't fully meet my expectations, others might have a different take.

I went here at the suggestion of a friend and am glad I did. This cozy eatery offers fried chicken and country fried steak, and a selection of pies. I had the chicken biscuit which was delicious. The honey butter topping really brought out the flavor. The macaroni was ok.

Popped in on 420 was starvingggg. My homegirls got the Chicken & Waffles with berry compote, a side of Hush puppies 8/10 & Fried Pickles 8/10 I got the Super Bowl Plate (you choose 3 sides) I did the Sausage Gravy 10/10, Cheese Grits 8/10 (needed a lil honey butter & sugar), Mac & Cheese 0/10 (Definitely giving Kraft not Southern), Side of Bacon 9/10, also comes with a Biscuit & honey butter 10/10. Despite the Mac & Cheese I’ll definitely spin the block to catch a Doughnut cause we had just missed the last one.

Be prepared to wait. The place is small. There is online reservation , but it didn't work when I tried. On the food, I had chicken and waffles, the fried chicken was flavorful, juicy with the perfect amount of crispyness on the outside. The waffle was nothing to write home about however it came with a dollop of cinnamon butter which was a nice added touch. I think the chicken and biscuits would have been a better choice. My nephew (5) really enjoyed the chocolate chip pancakes. He also figured out that powered sugar will fly everywhere with the slightest blow 😑. Lol like I said he's five. I'll definitely try this place again, possibly to-go + a donut they looked good in the display. I will say the wait staff and hostess were attentive and nice.

Dine within earshot of the JMZ over the Williamsburg Br. in a relaxed atmosphere with a hip take on southern comfort food. I'm normally not one to order from the dessert menu, but I recommend making an exception here. Get a piece of pie to share. You won't regret it. Staff do a great job of making the outside seating feel integrated with quick drink service and timely check ins.

Food was tasty, although I would’ve preferred it to be hotter. However, we did have kids with us so that could’ve been a factor (since we didn’t eat right when it came out). Service was really great. Quick, efficient and very attentive. They were so polite, informative and all smiles. Didn’t know they had a back area. It was very cozy. Would definitely come back.

We arrived at 11 am on a Saturday. While there was no wait, the table space was limited. Most tables are outside, so plan accordingly. We decided to sit outside to check out the neighborhood. The area was full of pedestrians and bicycles, which was cute and quiet. The table and chairs were not very comfortable but the food made up for it. Their toffee doughnut and chicken biscuit was worth the trip alone. Add on one of their huge cinnamon rolls, and you have a brunch you will never forget.

D
D Maxwell (DEE MAXXX)

I ordered the 3 piece chicken box (dark meat) with the burnt ends baked beans and biscuit. The chicken was amazing and the beans were a little sweet and spicy (yum). The biscuit was crunchy outside and soft in the middle (it tasted a little doughy to me) but it was good

B

The food was okay, it was a nice play to have brunch at. My boyfriend and I both ordered chicken and waffles and the waffles were backed with applesauce which was a nice touch. We both thought that the were waffles were a bit dry. There is no real big sign so it's a bit hard to spot from across the street, so when walking there look for a corner store with a yellow awning and then you got your place.

C

Had fried chicken, mashed potatoes and a biscuit. Chicken was nice and crunchy, could have been more flavorful but happy with the crunch! Potatoes were tasty but seemed like a mix between real and instant, overall not bad, gravy would have been nice. But the biscuit- holy cow- loved it!! Took a bite first to test, saved it for last cause it was the bomb. Tempted to go to the restaurant and try the gravy- have not gotten up the nerve for that yet.

I came here with some of my family recently. I wasn't super hungry, so I just got some cheese grits and a side of bacon. I was surprised at the amount of bacon they gave me! It was quite a bit, and really well cooked--not soggy buy not cooked to the point of burning it. The grits were excellent, they cook the cheese with the grits and add some shredded cheddar on top, exactly they way I like it. The other members of my family got really good looking dishes and they were all pleased. The space is quite small, with only a couple of tables, and the chairs DO NOT invite you to relax. I hope their takeout biz is good.

K
Kimberly Winfield

The atmosphere is nice. The customer service is awesome, very friendly. The chicken could use some seasoning. The coleslaw was not good at all. The macaroni and cheese was a 7 out of 10. The cheese grits were pretty good. The biscuit was slightly crunchy and very good.

We came here for a quick brunch before we started our Christmas shopping. We got here early but, there was still a wait. We ordered a chicken biscuit ($10.50) and it was so delicious. The chicken was juicy and tender. The biscuit was flavorful and the butter and hot sauce took it to the next level. While, the chicken was tasty, I had better fried chicken at other places. I feel that while the crust was tasty, it lacked flavor and spice. However, I am not saying the chicken isn't good. It's tasty and I would come back for it but, I wouldn't sit outside nor wait in the freezing cold as they had limited heat lamps for it. The chicken could have also been cut a bit better. A few bites for my friend had no meat and they had leftover biscuit. I also got the butter pecan crunch donut ($4.50). It was tasty and delicious. It wasn't overly sweet and I could see myself eating it with a side of vanilla ice cream topped with caramel. The service was decent. We had to wait a few minutes to get seated and get our order taken. However, when it came time to pay and leave, well the waitress was nowhere to be found. Overall, it was a good experience and I would stop by if I was in the area.

A solid brunch spot serving up some classic fried chicken and your favourite pies. It’s definitely not the best spot for soul food, I was a little disappointed by the lack of flavour and detail. Overall it’s worth coming to but you could go further a field for that truly special diner. 🍩 The best part was the Pecan Doughnut. Great glaze and the pecan flavour was one of the best I’ve had. Slightly dry inside was the only complaint but an a great 9/10 doughnut. 🍰 The 9/10 Key Lime Pie was really good, second favourite dish. 🍗 The fried chicken was a little dry and the cuts were not particularly well selected. 🧇 The waffles were on the soggy side instead of slightly crispy. 🍝 Mac n cheese was quite good although they could vary the cheese to make it creamier and have more flavour.

M
Marissa Mann

This was a good place to catch a nice southern brunch bite. We all got some variation of the chicken which was pretty good. The waffles, the biscuits, were all yummy while the Mac and cheese was just okay. It’s definitely added to my list of spots when I need somewhere in the area.

I wish I could say more but I can’t give 5 stars but just because I actually had an americano and a cinnamon roll . Loved it : super affordable prices (in general, I had a look at the menu) and the cinnamon is HUGE! So don’t take 2 if you’re two people ahaha but that was good, I can tell. Big shout out to the service: the people treating is amazing SUPER CUTE AND COZY LOCATION

The food that we ordered was mouthwatering and made us feel as though we were in Atlanta instead of Williamsburg. The catfish was flavorful and reminiscent of southern Friday-night fish fry, but boneless. The shoestring fries and cornbread were nice additions, but the black-eyed peas, while ultimately flavorful with a reminiscent tang of Louisiana Tabasco peppers in vinegar, were served cold more like a wet bean salad that a traditional southern side of peas. Absolutely recommend the Palmer! The only negative was that we entered there were no tables and we asked if we could be seated outside. Were were told that even though it was cold out that it was fine and that they would be out to take our order, but after 15 minutes of waiting no one ever came out and when a table opened up it was given to a couple that came in after us. While we were able to get the next table that opened up, we were ultimately not happy with that aspect of our experience at the restaurant and prevents me from leaving 5 stars, though I would be interested in returning the next time I am in the area to see if we have a better experience the next time.

The service was friendly, proactive and helpful. The food was outstanding. The building is Hopper-esque. They have a tight, focused menu and the only dish that appealed to me was sold out at 7.30pm on a Sunday. Sadly. So i had biscuits and gravy. Outstanding gravy. Not a fan of biscuits, they looked awesome though! I would definitely take a southerners there again.

Been many times though last time was years ago. Ordered online for pickup. At first I was impressed that the price hasn't changed all that much. But then I opened up the order. What a joke. While it was tasty, id be shocked if the chicken part was more than 2oz. To give you a sense of the size, its a very thin cutlet a little bigger than your standard ketchup packet. 5 stars is for the memory of what was, and 3 stars for what is. So 4 is in the middle.

This is our third time at this spot and we like it. They have awesome fried chicken there and the drinks are very good. Last time we were there it was a cold winter today and because we were seated close to the front door. it was chilly. The only thing that we found that was not up to par was the pies We’ve had their apple pie, cherry pie, and pecan pie. The pecan was the best of the bunch in my opinion. To have a name like pies and thighs your pies need to be fabulous

Was very pleasantly surprised by the food here! I had never heard of this restaurant before but visited because of the quirky name. The restaurant itself is very cute and cozy. The designs on all the menus was also a very sweet touch. My friend and I split the Super Bowl and the Fried Chicken Box. For the Super Bowl, we got the fried pickles, hush puppies and collard greens as our three sides. Would pass on the hush puppies but everything else was tasty. The fried chicken was also very good, as was the side of mashed potatoes it came with. I think the crust on the Sour Cherry Pear Crumble Pie was a bit tough to get through but I liked the tart filling!

I usually sit in the rear of the restaurant when dining there... More quiet & intimate. Due to reservations my friend and I had to sit in the front. There was a party across from us that was a little loud, and one of the members of this group couldn't help his profanity. A behavior totally accepted in bars, but I felt one of the servers should have been more aware of this and ask this party to watch their language.

TLDR- I ordered from here once before back in 2022. It was a late night order so the I'm assuming that's why the quality suffered and I wasn't very impressed with the taste. Between that and the distance + high delivery fees, it made it an easy pass. Craving soul food, I recently gave them another chance. Disappointed, as this soul food is super gentrified as it's South 4th Williamsburg address suggests. I would be surprised if anyone in the kitchen actually was from the south or a person of color who understood the complexities of flavor when it comes to its preparation. It definitely wasn't a very enjoyable meal. Particularly unenjoyable was the star of the show (the fried chicken! Half of the restaurant's namesake!) was incredibly under seasoned and underwhelming. I mean you know it's not great, when it makes Popeyes chicken the standout in comparison. Order came up to $85 before tip. This included a $15 promotion discount via UberEats. I understand the economy that we live in, but unfortunately, the price point is not commensurate with the quality of food being served here. The biscuit that came with it was umm very....sturdy. It looked good, but was pretty dense and could have been a tad softer and a bit more buttery, but definitely not the worst biscuit I have had. The mac and cheese wasn't great either, but I know it's a universally controversial dish so it may be someone's cup of tea, but this is not the way I prefer to have it prepared, as it's akin to a variation of Kraft mac and cheese. Overly cheesy and 'floury' due to its roux base, but ultimately void of flavor. Was excited for the crispy broccoli, but on occasion I got bites that were a bit too oily, which after a while made me nauseous. Grits were also lackluster and baked beans had a nice flavor, but the burnt ends did not do it any favors since it tasted dry and stringy. Collards? Again, nothing great. Also ordered banana pudding pie ? (not pictured), but it arrived melted and messy so we tossed it. Perhaps another 'off day', but no need to try this place again.

Went on a Saturday night and was able to be seated immediately which was nice. I got the fried chicken box which on the menu says 3 mixed pieces of fried chicken, biscuit and side. Now here’s the main reason why I gave 3 stars. The chicken was fried nicely and seasoned well but the “3” pieces of chicken I received were actually a drumstick and then a breast cut in half and counted as 2 individual pieces”. I’m sorry but that just seems alittle disingenuous to me. The Mac and cheese is okay, it’s a bit too thick and floury. The flavor is there but the texture needed to be creamier for my tastes, but I know opinions are subjective so I’m sure there are people who like it the way it is. The biscuit was good (be sure to ask for butter), it’s very dense and alittle on the harder side but the flavor is very good and not dry. The desserts were mostly good but I felt the apples in the apple pie were rather chewy and not cooked through enough, the crust was alittle too dense as well. The pumpkin and banana crème pie were very good, no complaints on these. All in all it was an enjoyable meal and if I could give 3.5 stars I would have but Google only allows either 3 stars or 4 so I had to settle for 3 stars because I did feel alittle shortchanged when it came to the chicken and the disappointing apple pie.

The chicken was decent—about a 7 out of 10. The chicken sandwich was better, flavorful and well-balanced, I'd give it an 8. The waffle, though, was a bit disappointing—soft and lacking texture, closer to a 4 out of 10. Overall, a mixed experience.

The service was great! All smiles and warm welcomes! The food was ok. The coffee was very bitter like it'd been sitting out a while. He buttermilk tenders were awesome! Super juicy and buttermilky, the fried part just slides off, but ilike it! The collard greens were nice also. The one thing I didn't have was pie (pie and coffee go together for me and the coffee was just too bitter to want pie). Nice little corner spot with a nice little vibe. I'd definitely go for some cornbread and a few chapters of a book.

Something has changed. Did we change management and staff? This place was incredible; there used to be lines and wait times but when I rolled up, on a brunch hour, it was empty. Something has changed. The food was overcooked and dry. Cornbread burnt, and dry. Broccoli WAAAAAY overcooked though the sauce was delightful. Coleslaw wasn't anything special. Biscuit was OK and chicken was...passable. Hushpuppies were good and the catfish was OK but everything else, even the coffee, seemed burnt. Seems there was some carelessness this day.

Well. The chicken biscuit sandwich was underwhelming since there wasn’t much seasoning to it. The banana cream pie was okay. I wish I could get my money back. I did like the kale salad oddly enough. I wouldn’t justify spending that much money ($35) for the portion size and lack of seasoning in the sandwich. Sigh. I wish I could go back in time. The workers were nice. Vibe was okay. Just. Not. Worth. It. (The wait for our meals were not aligned. I waited for 5 minutes and my brother waited 25 minutes and he ordered before me.)

The chicken box was $19 and came with three very small pieces of very dry chicken. It wasn’t moist and the skin was at parts rock hard. Somehow the biscuit was the truly best item there, but they made me pay $2 for the honey butter which while good, why should I be paying for butter? A biscuit is included in the box but no butter so not sure what I would have eaten it with if I didn’t pay for the extra butter. The sweet tea had a weird aftertaste but I was able to return it and they comped it. I also had the banana crème pie and while the banana was good, the crust was so hard to chew that I know it was old

P
Phoenix Aliyah

Overpriced and overhyped. Chicken lacked flavor. The pie was terrible in consistency & had no structure and the cream or butter (I couldn’t tell what it was supposed to be) had split (meaning it curdled). I didn’t dine in so I can’t complain about the service.

Ive been coming here for about a year and used to love this place. As of august of this year they changed up the menu and increased prices across the board which mildly worried me, but i stood by them through it and hoped they wouldnt change anything else. Recently though not only have the prices increased, but portion sizes have dropped. Both my orders of fries i got to go came half empty. My girlfriend's biscuits and gravy came without gravy. Would NOT reccomend going unless they revert prices and portion sizes.

The slice of pie I got was refrigerated and in a to go box. I didn’t ask for it to go. There was no ice cream. The amount of whip cream was minimal and the apple pie was quite flavorless. I wouldn’t go again. It was quite expensive for not the best experience. It’s a cute restaurant but if your name is Pies and Thighs I expect a good slice of warm pie with alot of whip cream or a side of ice cream.

Left New York 3 years ago came back to visit and took my fiancé here. This was his first time visiting NY. He was searching for some good breakfast, so I highly suggested pies and thighs. Must say was very disappointed. The chicken was horrible, tasted like old oil was used. The waffles were cold and hard, the Mac and cheese were cold and a bit hard. Not sure if it’s a new chef. However, was very very disappointed.
