Avis sur Shashlik House Brooklyn
Shashlik House is incredible! Authentic Uzbek/Central Asian flavors — the charcoal-grilled shashlik (lamb and beef skewers) were perfectly juicy and smoky, manti dumplings flavorful, and non-bread fresh from the tandoor. Best kebabs I've had in Brooklyn, halal and generous portions. Atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, feels like a warm home kitchen with great energy. Service was decent but a bit slow when busy. Worth every visit — will be back for more!
My first time however, Absolutely loved this place! Every dish we tried was flavorful and high-quality. The lamb shashlik is a must-try. Great atmosphere, great service, great food. I’ll be recommending Shashlik House to everyone!
The flavors here ensure I'll be making another reservation. The mood is perfect, the place is clean, and service is welcoming. The employee's positive attitude sincerely made my visit. The kitchen produces amazing dishes in a lovely space. I left feeling very satisfied.
The food tasted great while the staff showed true dedication. You can taste they select what's best in season. The team handled service with expert precision. Make it a social outing at this restaurant. When I'm in this part of town, I'll return.
The best Uzbek food out there. At least in this neighborhood, and I have tried a few. Nothing beats this one. There is a language barrier so service could do better, but I won't count it against them, cause the food is so so good. The Samsa and Shurpa are awesome appetizers. We order a lot of lamb ribs and lamb sheesh. The lamb chops are a great option, though they are a little pricey, but that's almost everywhere.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Shalshik House in Brooklyn, and I have to say, the kabob was simply amazing, the best I've ever had! My favorite was definitely he Lula kabob and lamb chop. I ate it along with their red sauce and raw vinegar sliced onion, it was perfect! While the ambience may be nothing fancy, it has a certain charm and coziness that makes you feel right at home. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, adding to the overall pleasant experience. I also appreciated the reasonable prices, especially for the high quality of the food. It’s as authentic it can get! All in all, Shalshik House is a hidden gem that I will definitely be visiting again. Highly recommended to anyone in the area looking for delicious and authentic kabobs!
Glad to see Uzbekistani cuisine on Ave I. The restaurant has a surprisingly large dining area with private rooms available, which is a nice touch. The food was good overall. Their kebabs were solid, and I especially enjoyed the lula kebab. Prices are on the higher side 💰$$, but worth trying if you're in the mood for this style of cuisine. 🥩 🥓🍗🍖🧆
Me and my husband decided to stop here because we heard really good reviews. We ordered 4 shish kebabs a spring salad and homemade potatoe fries. The meat lacked seasoning and had no crisp to it at all. The salad was okay and the potatoes are really the only thing I really enjoyed. The service was good but you had to keep calling them because they never checked up on you. The place was cute though but not worth paying all of that For $71.
I had been to this café before and was satisfied, so this time I came here with my family to celebrate my birthday. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. First, the waiter who took our order disappeared, and we waited two hours for our food. I had to go and ask what was going on, but after talking to other staff members, the waiter said that everyone was busy. It seemed that no one cared about us—no one even came over to offer us help. It was unclear who the manager was; everyone just ignored us. When I finally found our waiter and asked about our order, he seemed to have forgotten about it or hadn't even passed it on to the kitchen. By the time the food finally arrived — two hours later — everyone was upset. Overall, the experience was very unpleasant, and I won't be going back there with my family. The service was extremely poor.
I’ve been living here for two years and never checked this place out. The smells and aromas that comes out of here are delicious. I decided to try today, what a complete let down. Service: the guy didn’t even acknowledge me and was on the phone. Seem annoyed I came to pick up my order. I called originally and it was nice. Food: eh, I could make this myself. Nice charred taste but that’s it. Lacked flavor and such a small portion for the price. Price: never again. $20. You got to be kidding me. Side note: I walked by here some time ago and my husband ask for a menu and refused him. We are AA btw. Will not come back.
We ordered shashlik for delivery and were completely disappointed. Different types of meat were all packed together in one container, completely soaked in grease. There was very little actual meat — mostly fatty pieces. We paid $75 and basically got chunks of fat instead of proper shashlik. After we complained, the delivery person said that all lamb comes with fat and that we should have warned them to pack everything separately. That is not acceptable. We are not pigs, and this is not how food should be delivered. We have never seen such careless and disrespectful service. Absolutely not worth the money.
We can here with friends for Iftar and we regret it, since the time we came we ordered foods and salads, from everything we ordered only a few came but the main dish never came even after one an half hours of waiting, we came here in advance after reserving table and awaiting great service and foods. I would not recommend to come here for iftar if your time is precious to you. Please consider the people that came to your restaurant to eat and try to make them feel as if they’re sitting in guest.
We’ve been sitting here for 2.5 HOURS waiting for food like we’re part of some social experiment. At this point, I could’ve raised and grilled the sheep myself. No updates. No urgency. No apology. Just staff moving around like time doesn’t exist. Watching tables that came after us get served first was the final disrespect. If you don’t have the capacity to handle customers, don’t seat them. Simple. A restaurant isn’t supposed to test your patience more than your hunger. This place failed both. Two and a half hours for food that’s not even Michelin-level? Wild. Never again.
The only good thing about this place is the family friendly environment. Everything else I would not pay for again. Starting from the food, if they have it available, not worth the overpricing. The salads we ordered we ate only because we paid for it😂. Service is the worst I’ve ever had, having to beg for someone to help. Would not recommend!!!
They added items to our bill that we didn't order, and also charged us for the Room plus a service charge. A kilogram of tandoor kebab costs $60, which is completely disproportionate to the quality and value. This is terrible, guys.
