I really like the atmosphere here. And very fast service. A little expensive but that is New York for you
First time visiting neighborhood and surprised and delighted to find friendly staffs, diverse community, and good coffee
Excellent coffee, pleasant space, enough plugs. No sandwiches left by the late afternoon.
Best lattes in town, love that they make their almond milk and mocha syrup in-house.
Best iced matcha latte I’ve had in New York so far
Absolutely love this place. Espresso is fresh, crisp & earthy. Love!!!
Barista working today made a perfect flat white - thanks!
Amazing coffee and pastries. Well worth the visit. Decent table and counter space for relaxing, chatting, or working.
The best tasty latte I've had in the area. The staff are friendly and the place quite and clean. Recommended!
Great coffee, friendly staff, and they always have the NYT. The backyard is simple but comfortable with a few tables and small canopy for shade. Highly recommended.
Super relaxed atmosphere, great coffee and treats and the back yard let's you choose between shade and sun.
Such a great spot. Cozy ambiance, great coffee, great baristas.
Great neighborhood spot! Cute backyard area, friendly owner & staff, nice coffee!
Best decaf americano i've ever had and their winter vegan sandwich is delicious! nice atmosphere too.
Matcha is super good, probably because they make their own almond milk. Yummy.
Good coffee, great baked goods, sandwiches are somewhere between good and ok.
Cold brew + patio + sunny day = far more than the sum of its parts. A great part of the neighborhood, all around
Good sandwiches and coffee. Plenty seating. Outdoor patio open weather permitting.
The people who work here are wonderful, the coffee is awesome and the cookies are tasty.
It's my favorite coffee place in crown heights. Very tasty coffee and treats, friendly service and spacious sitting on the front & back. I no longer live in the area but keep coming back 🙂
Vegetarian curried muffletta sandwich is insanely good! Highly recommend this esp if your bored of the usual cafe vegetarian offerings. Americano was good too.
I've been going to this place for years. It's got the best vibe of any coffee shop I've been to anywhere in NYC. A truly haimisha, family-owned neighborhood spot. Great staff, great coffee & food, great space.
They DO take credit cards (description said cash only). This is a great local coffee shop: open, airy and friendly. Back yard seating is nice too!
Great coffee and super friendly service. Crowd is young & hip. An ideal place to sit and wonder... about the blessings of coffee. I’ll be coming back soon!
Sit & Wonder hosts a chill vibe to work and read in, or to stumble into friends there on a frequent and random basis. It also has a decent backyard if you want to be outside, though careful with your pastries as there is a nest of finches nearby that are jones'ing for your scone.
This is a great coffee shop. The outdoor patio is the best I've seen in Brooklyn as far as coffee shops go. Also a large coffee here is less than Starbucks.
Not the easiest place to reach by subway, and seating can be hard to find, but it's worth it. Nice variety in food, cool crowd, good environment. Has wireless, and has a neat little library with books and magazines.
My go to coffee spot for more than a decade. Cold brew packs a punch and goes down smooth. Priced right. A neighborhood institution!
A neighborhood gem where Baristas know their guests by name, have delicious eats and tasty cortados. Nice escape from your tiny NYC apt to enjoy the lovely patio.
You will through your D&D away. You will kick your Starbucks baristas in the head after you experience this places coffee ! Get the maple syrup macchiato with made on premise almond milk. Drink it in their garden and be upset at all the money you wasted on commercially owned coffee spots.
Really friendly employees, great coffee, overall nice atmosphere. Plus, prices are actually reasonable! (For New York, that is)
Great neighborhood coffee spot, friendly staff, tasty food, overall satisfied to have this place around.
Hyper local spot that seems to make most everything in-house. Had the cheddar, chutney, arugula sandwich. I appreciate that they had a vegetarian option that was just as tasty as how I imagine the meat ones would be! I also got the yogurt power breakfast and granola —- so good! Will definitely be returning.
When I lived in Brooklyn, I went to this coffee shop as often as I could. The coffee is great (it's stumptown coffee), and the seasonal cider will ruin you for other seasonal drinks available at the big chains. The atmosphere is super friendly and the employees are great. They'll always remember you. And, if you're not in the mood for coffee, tea, or cider, their food is amazing. All of it is fresh made everyday, and their dulce de leche donuts are a must have.
I had a perfect cappuccino and a delicious blueberry scone on my last visit. I highly recommend this friendly coffee shop.
Good service. Bread pudding chocolate is decadent. Gotta run 10 miles after eating one. Love the curried chick pea sandwich but they need to make more bc they run out of them regularly.
Visited on a weekend morning. The coffee was very good but the bonus was outback in the cute garden -- we sat comfortably and enjoyed watching parents wrangle their little ones. Cuteness overload!!
Sit & Wonder is my favorite coffee shop in NYC. I freelance and often work "from home," which means that I often work from a coffee shop. Sit & Wonder is the best place I know to get very good coffee and, then, to work. The pleasant, quiet, friendly atmosphere helps me to focus - especially when the weather is nice and I can sit outside in the back.
Very cute little coffee shop, the espresso is deep with chocolate and caramel notes served with a great crema. The Vegan summer baguette is an amazing little sandwich(from a meat eater)
I go here all the time. It’s comfy and modest, carries perfectly-roasted coffee, and has some of the kindest most thoughtful staff.
cute cafe! staff is really friendly and they have a nice backyard when it's warm out.
the pastries here are absolutely impeccable. i believe many of them are made in house so the freshness factor cannot be overstated. coffee here is also a delight - my flat white is always creamy and flavorful, never burnt tasting. one of my favorites in the neighborhood.
The perfect coffee shop. Delicious coffee. Great pastries, donuts, salads, and sandwiches. Hard-working and friendly staff. Ideal for work, meeting friends, bringing a child or two, or reading and journaling. I can't say enough nice things about this place. It's one of my favorite places in our neighborhood.
Delicious cold brew, and the breakfast sandwich and ham and cheese croissant are both delicious. Very cute back yard and queer-friendly atmosphere! Love this place for a quick coffee and snack.
Great coffee and food joint. Awesome backyard, yummy pastries and baguette sandwiches. Homemade almond milk, expert baristas. Excellent Black-owned neighborhood business! I also love their sister spot near Fort Greene park
Great little coffee shop, my favorite in the neighborhood! The coffee there is just as amazing as the pastries and the staff is lovely. So glad to be finally able to SIT and wonder again, after the covid restrictions ended!
Lovely little spot to sit and get your work done. The hours flew by with the productive hum coming from everyone who visits to accomplish your task at hand. The lovely distractions of coffee, tea, freshly made sandwiches, and baked goods are wonderful. The staff is quick, welcoming, and helpful. I enjoyed my time here and was grateful to leave feeling well nourished and satisfied that I was in a space that was conducive for working. Grateful for the wifi as well! Thank you!
Love this place! Its my local routine spot to stop by and grab my first cup. Shout outs to the team Brittany Jaden Johnny & Meetro
Fantastic place to meet, work and get a coffee. Fantastic backyard .
The most neighborly cafe I've ever experienced. A great place to get both a caffeine fix and dog fix.
This has been my local caffeine fix for almost 15 years, and like in ‘Cheers’ everyone knows your name. Slammin’ Colombe coffee, vintage 90s decor (Steve Keene, garage sale kitsch 👍🏻), pastries from Colson Patisserie and sandwiches made here, big backyard and a musician owner who plays great jams. I’m sitting here now, enjoying a coffee in the backyard with the Funky Meters wafting through the door. Extra credit: My kid felt so welcome here that when she once had to run in on her way home from elementary school to use the bathroom they made sure she was OK. This is what neighborhood looks like 💖
This is the happiest, most community feeling place in the neighborhood. Jaden and Brittany are always a pleasure to interact with and they make the best playlists 🎵!
Such a hidden gem in Brooklyn! I stopped in for a quick caffeine fix and ended up with one of the best lattes I’ve ever had—shoutout to Jaden for absolutely nailing it. Super friendly and clearly knows her coffee game. The latte was creamy, flavorful, and just hit the spot! Great vibes, cozy atmosphere, and awesome service. Highly recommend!
This is my go to place for a great start to the morning. The customer service is spectacular especially the barista Jaden. She always provides service with a smile and sometimes a song.
This is THE best coffee shop of all time. It makes this neighborhood feel like home and brightens my mood every time I stop by. The staff is wonderful and kind - Johnny, Jaden, Brittany, and Mitro are my absolute favorites - and they make the best cappuccino I've had in the city.
The single greatest coffee shop in my little corner of the world. Barista’s so angelic that the heavens do blush. Great coffee, eats and banter. A joy to my heart, a light in the darkness , a fine spot to sit and wonder.
This is our favorite coffee shop in the neighborhood! Great coffee and pastries (I'm partial to the maple lattes and teddy bear financiers). All of the staff is wonderful and the place is very kid friendly. My daughter loves to go in and say hi to the baristas who have become her friends.
I came here cos there was a half an hour wait at little egg. They were pretty empty at 11am on a Sunday and it was a lovely day outside. They took my order immediately and the coffee took about 5 mins to make. They have a long bar at the batista counter I love the colors of the space and the bathroom was super clean. they have a large patio seating area in the back as well, It would be lovely in the summer time! I sat out front in the sunshine- the coffee was the perfect touch :)
Near Brooklyn Museum. Lovely ambience and delicious flat white coffee. Great location and has a counter with stools facing sidewalk to watch the prettiest people and dogs go by. It seems like there is a restroom in the back however I did not verify this. If they have one I will definitely be going back to do some writing.
What a lovely little spot! The iced lattes are perfect and the spiced hibiscus iced tea is phenomenal. Great little backyard with strong wifi, kind clientele and even kinder service. Felt very much like my favorite coffee shops when I was a kid growing up in the south, but with better coffee - welcoming, homey, and fun.
I recently moved to the neighborhood and this has become my favorite coffee shop. The Owner and staff are extremely friendly and the coffee and pastries are delicious. The corn muffin with cheddar and sage is delicious! I highly recommend supporting this amazing local business!
Super relaxed atmosphere, great coffee and treats and the back yard. Friendly barristers
Chill and friendly with a backyard to enjoy. I just landed there a couple of days ago and felt cozy, just wish it was a little warmer outside. Will definitely come back during the week.
The pastries are good especially the croissant but I sit & wonder why they are so expensive. Staff can be rude sometimes.
I like this place a lot, especially that they make their own almond milk but the depth of the cappuccino doesn't compete with others
Cappuccino was respectable, but they need to work on their hospitality. As a native to the immediate area, I'm always taken aback when these relatively new businesses act as though you don't belong.
My carrot muffin was tasty. My chai was alright. No wait. Clean shop. Friendly staff. Near the B45. Kid friendly
There is nothing like having a wonderful coffee-shop right in your neighborhood- and I am so glad that Sit and Wonder is that for me! Definitely can get crowded during the day, but if you can find a spot its a wonderful place to set up shop and get work done or read for a while. They serve Stumptown Coffee too, which is my favorite!
Really enjoy coming here to do some work. Cute and inviting garden patio to work in the back in the warmer weather. Sometimes music can be a bit too loud inside but it all depends on who's working the coffee bar.
Best cappuccinos in the neighborhood and a productive but serene vibe keep me coming back. Baristas are lovely and don't knock their $6 sandwiches. My opinion: $10 card minimum holds you back against the competition.
Found this quaint cafe whilst working in the neighborhood. I've been an avid matcha drinker for years now and I know when my matcha is made right, unfortunately today my matcha was extremely bitter to the taste which is not the way it should be tasting I'm very bummed about this because when prepared properly tastes very well. Wish they take the proper procedure in preparing matcha for their customers!🙁
4 stars for a good study spot. Very cute interior - cozy but tables aren't too crowded. Came on a warm Sunday afternoon and found that it was relatively empty, which is a refreshing find for a cafe in NYC. It's pretty quiet inside, as most people are on their Macbook Airs. There is elevator music playing in the background, which is great for concentrating. You can choose to sit at a table, in the patio, by the window, or near the bar. Baristas are chill. Wifi is excellent. They also have Vietnamese coffee! The major downside was was there was no working AC... only ceiling fans. I saw an AC but it wasn't on... maybe it wasn't working? Will def be a downside in the summer heat. Hopefully they get that fixed!
Great coffee spot in Prospect Heights. Not a lot of sitting area, so you may have to wait on a Saturday. Very cozy vibe and a great place to hang out with friends or with a good book.
Great coffee, friendly staff, and they always have the NYTimes. The backyard is simple but comfortable with a few tables and small canopy for shade. Highly recommended.
A nice quiet spot for an afternoon coffee break. They make a really good cappuccino and have the day's newspaper on the back bar available to read. In the front is a book exchange to encourage people to read and there's an open space in the back to enjoy if the day is nice. It looks like they're trying to encourage interaction amongst customers and shut off the wifi on Saturday and Sunday mornings but this would be a spot I'd frequent if I was in the neighborhood more
Very clean, friendly and professional barista. Espresso quality is average (in a good way) and has notes of baked goods, a pleasant aroma and aftertaste. Great location, love the decor and accessibility of the condiments area, nice to see a self serve water station that’s obviously iced and refilled often. Good to see straws offered to those in need and a friendly note that invites interpersonal reflection on straw use for those who tend to take a straw out of habit. Overall satisfied and would revisit 👍
Pastries and coffee are great, but they are always playing the worst and loudest music, it makes it unpleasant to actually sit and wonder
Coffee here is pretty good, but can't compare with some other places in Brooklyn. They're a bit uptight regarding in-house consumption of exogenous bagelry, which is somewhat understandable if not entirely necessary and also understandably annoying.
Average coffee. Nice staff. Limited indoor seating, but a great backyard for warmer months.
This place unfortunately isn’t what it used to be a year ago. Pretty unhappy and rude employees, and no more homemade baked goods? That was the best part and I’m so bummed. Now they bring in subpar items in a box every morning. Coffee is still good but this place has gone downhill.
Coffee ranges between exellent and good, depending on who is making it and how lucky you are. The staff is friendly enough but the owners are always leaving passive aggressive notes on their blackboard about customer behavior which brings things down a notch.
The coffee is decent and had a slice of the lemon poppy seed cake which was moist but lacked a bit of flavor. I was hoping to have my coffee in a proper cup rather than a paper one, but I wasn’t asked whether it was to stay or to go.
More of a tip than anything else. Although has outdoor spaces, disallows dogs in general (didn't Ask if service dog or not). Could've offered for us to take away coffee to purchase but just shooed us away.
Sadly the atmosphere was flat, as was the milk in the latte, and the cinnamon roll was doughy. Two girls were bored. Milk Bar looks far superior and 2 blocks although busier....
The place is cute inside and out, staff seemed annoyed. Getting coffee in the AM can make or break someone’s day so it’d be great if attitude could be improved.
Coffee is great, now, the unhappy people working in there, made us doubt if we wanted to come back there again. Short hair lady is always so serious that it’s even uncomfortable to order.
I got the iced latte with for $5.50 and it was okay, wish they had more flavor options. Cute spot, looks comfy but I think my barista was annoyed or something. They visibly got annoyed at me and another customer for ordering/picking up at the wrong window? Maybe a sign would help?
I walked in and only ordered a chai latte made with their homemade almond milk. Was very excited to try this, but it was probably the worst chai I've ever had. Couldn't even drink it and had to throw it away. The cafe ambience was pleasant, but I think they could work on their chai/almond milk combo.
Stopped going due to horrible barista attitude (the one that is pretending to be Madonna). Shame cause the coffee is really good.
Whenever I've gone service has been absurdly snotty, I overheard one of the prototypical hipster baristas saying blatantly racist garbage. The coffee here is mediocre at most and the food is just plain bad, the sandwiches especially are a joke. In short, this place is a caricature of an overpriced outpost of gentrification. There are far better options in walking distance. Avoid this spot!
Terrible. I paid $3.00 for apple cider. Tasted more like regular warmed up apple juice. Then she put a whole bunch of cinnamon on the drink. And because it was so cold, my drink got cold really fast. Will never go back again.
