Very Nice Restaurant

I absolutely adore this restaurant! I have been coming here for a very long time whether it would be to celebrate or just a night out. The food is delicious and I definitely recommend coming here :)

Amazing Greek food, try their specials

The service, ambiance, level of music and speaking volume is perfect for enjoying an exceptional Greek meal. It has the feel and spirit of a traditional taverna. The food was spot on. I will say that the octopus was a little rubbery but I'm giving 5 stars since the tzarziki, kalamari, vegetables and rack of lamb were spot on. Aiorgitiko Gaia wine is preferred. Nicely done!!!!! Bravo!!!!! Less than 5 Greek restaurants in the Metro Area have been able to accomplish this level of authenticity in flavor and ambiance.

This restaurant is superb. I have been to "Pete's" many times and have never been disappointed. The food is fantastic, as is the service. The menu offers an excellent variety and each dish is perfectly prepared.

We sat outdoors, very pleasant serving staff. I recommend the spreads. The fish and lamb chops were also good.

I love this place. Their food is delicious and the appetizers never disappoint, but the warmth and attention from the staff is what keeps us loyal customers. Great venue for family style parties. They are not scared of a a large group. (Swordfish always. Flaming cheese and yiasou salad and I'm the happiest)

Beautiful, Authentic Greek Restaurant! The food was DELICIOUS and VERY FRESH! We've had the Steak, Baked Lemon Potatoes, Baked Clams Oreganata, another time, the Salmon, Shrimp Scampi, Avgolemono Soup and Lobster Bisque...ALL AMAZING! Took a Spinach Pie to go,, that was VERY TASTY!! We've also had the Crab Cake,, and that was very good also. Overall, the service was EXCELLENT and the staff was very professional and friendly! I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT!

Passed by this place many times and finally had dinner there Wow Authentic food, unusual , high quality, fresh ! Had a glass of White House wine - very nice and went well with the food Very friendly stuff, clean and upscale setting, casually yet very festive place

GREAT food and AMAZING hosts! As soon as you walk in, you're greeted at the door. The restaurant is well decorated and definitely has an authentic Greek decor. Try the Branzino, grilled octopus, liver cubes, grilled kebab, spread sampler, and definitely finish with a Greek coffee. As you can tell, I've been here a few times... The interesting part is that they’re adjacent to their next door Italian-fusion restaurant conveniently titled “Next Door” which ads for an open-style kitchen between the two restaurants.

Amazing place!!! THE place to go to whether you live in the area or far away ! Great food, amazing hosts. Restaurant Next Door is superb as well. BEST Branzino I ever had (and I am not a fish guy). Amazing appetizers, excellent selection, great desert! Definitely go for the s’mores or Nutella Pizza. Well worth the $ every time !

I have been going here, to this warm family operated restaurant, with my wife friends and kids for 13 years, and never once regretted my visit. The staff is always professional and the service is quick and professional. The ambience is great with an authentic Greek food accompanied by soft Greek music and even Greek Muriel's. In the summer their outside sitting makes you feel like you are on vacation in the Mediterranean with a soft breeze and a look over the canal, the ships and the shoppers passing by. Anna and Peter, the owners, are always present to monitor the service & food would be perfect. Their son is an amazing cook and is the head shed monitoring and preparing delicious healthy food that is always fresh and Presented well. I love the Salmon tartar the picalie is a must with it's spicy cheese and hummus, the berms are great and they always have a fresh Branzino whole or fillet both highly recomended. For desert Annas, specialty is her home made cheese cake with the her home made Jam, or her warm chocolate cake and ice cream. Healthy, authentic, tasty, fresh and always welcoming, I highly recommend this restaurant! Bon appetite:-)

One of our favorite restaurants. It's local for us but worth a trip if it's not around the corner. You feel like you are in Greece. the music, the pictures, the general ambiance. The food is always wonderful. Elios Mediterranean Red is such a delightful experience if you're into Red Wine. The service is always warm and friendly and everyone seems to feel it. So it's catching. Just stopped in on a quiet Tuesday, shared some wonderful appetizers (terrific grilled octopus, shrimp, crabcake and olives), delicious bread, great bottle of wine and topped it off with Baklava (the best!) It made our evening.

This was my first visit. I had the linguine with shrimp in white sauce. On the menu it comes with tomato sauce. They happily accomidated my request. Service here is very good. The staff and owners were warm and welcoming. Last but not least, the food is wonderful!! Everyone in my party were more than satisfied. I will definitely be returning.

Yasou - Next Door, Greek and Italian restaurants under the same owner. Great Mediterranean diversity, very nice and elegant setup in both places, Next Door is beautifully designed and very cozy. You can be seated in one but order from both menus. Very convenient. Love it there. Quiet music. Tasty. affordable.

I visited Yiasou for lunch. It is in a scenic location on Emmons Ave, there are sidewalk tables and you can sit across from the waterfront. Everything was fresh and delicious: the whole fish (Lavraki/Branzino) the fried calamari was perfectly salted and tender. the baked clams were seasoned deliciously. Fresh Greek Salad. the service was very warm and friendly. Would definitely return to this restaurant and have been recommending it to family and friends. We went back again, it was delicious and the same waiter was very friendly and welcoming.

This is the second time I go to this place and I really enjoyed both meals that I had the first time I had the chicken lemon soup and I was so good and then the second meal I had was the Lamb with the risotto and I absolutely loved the lamb because it was so soft. Both times I ordered the pink fluffy caviar with pita bread that is amazing definitely try it.

Gave this place a 5 star rating because of both the ambience and the quality of the food. Simply stupendous and superb. I can't wait to get the grilled fish again. My girlfriend had the grilled octopus and said it was to die for. I definitely recommend Yiasou and will be back soon for that grilled snapper! Most excellent!

Yiasou is a fine dining, but casual, Greek restaurant. Do not confuse their food with Greek diner fare. This is cooking like you would find in Greece at an Estiatorio by the sea. The preparations are delicious, with choices for every palate. While they specialize in fish and seafood we go there too when we crave rack of lamb or a perfectly prepared rib eye steak. Their grilled octopus is tender with just the right amount of char. The pikilia is a delicious platter of all the best spreads Greece produces. The huge choice of fresh fishes from Greece and US waters, langoustines (one of our favorites), lobsters, etc are displayed in front of the open kitchen for all to see and choose from. The preparation is clean and simple with excellent greek olive oil and lemon. Even the potato, or rice, with vegetables that accompany the dishes is too good to ignore. They have plenty of meat, chicken and other dishes to keep everyone happy from parties of 2 to large groups. There is a full bar and an extensive and eclectic wine list. But, make certain to leave room for dessert...you won't regret the decision. We have been regulars since they opened and waited with bated breath till they reopened after the devestation of Hurricane Sandy. The best restaurant in Sheepshead Bay by far and right up there with the Greek restaurants in Manhattan. Update: Whenever we visit Brooklyn, as we did today September 9, 2025, we have dinner at Yiasou. We have never had anything but an excellent meal here. Tonight was no exception. We were going to take home some of the Horiatiki but the tomatoes were so flavorful that we kept nibbling on it until it was gone. We love soft shell crabs but the best preparation anywhere is at Yiasou. The sauce is incredible and if the staff had removed our plate, before we mopped up the sauce with our bread...we'll it's a good thing they didn't try! We were in the mood for meat tonight and the rack of lamb was perfectly cooked to medium and the chops were tender and melt in your mouth tasty. We were so full that we had to get our cheesecake to go. We never leave there without a slice. Yiasou has the best staff led by Peter, Anna and their son Michael. In all the years they're been in Sheepshead Bay we've never left Yiasou without a big grin on our faces and a full happy belly.

I've been going to this restaurant for over 10 years with my family and friends. We often gather in a large company, sometimes with small children - and every time we are greeted with warmth and attention. The staff is always polite, friendly, and children are treated with particular care. As for maintenance, tips are often included in the bill when servicing large companies, and this is an absolutely normal practice in the United States. We always understood this and did not feel "deceived". Everything is transparent and honest. Separately, I would like to note the quality of food - always fresh products, excellent presentation and stable quality year after year. It's a pity to see unfair negative reviews - our many years of experience says otherwise.

This is a wonderful place where you truly feel immersed in the atmosphere of Greece. All the waiters are very friendly, and the service is outstanding. The food is a form of art on its own — everything was incredibly delicious. The grilled fish is simply top-notch! Cleanliness and care are felt in every detail. We’ll definitely come back with the whole family, more than once!

We stumbled upon Yiasou on a recommendation—and what a discovery it was. From the moment we stepped inside, the warm lighting and tasteful Mediterranean décor set the scene for a truly memorable evening. The menu dazzles with an impressive array of fresh seafood—briny oysters, plump shrimp, and perfectly grilled octopus that tasted of the sea. And then there was the lamb: tender, succulent, and done three ways (marinated chops, slow-roasted leg, and whole roasted rack). Each preparation showcased layers of flavor, from bright lemon and oregano to rich garlic and rosemary. Service was nothing short of exceptional. Our waitress, Lolita, balanced genuine warmth with remarkable efficiency—checking in just the right amount, offering expert pairing suggestions, and ensuring our glasses stayed full. It’s rare to feel so well cared for, even on a busy weeknight. All told, Yiasou delivers on every promise of honest, inspired Greek cuisine. Whether you’re craving the catch of the day or a hearty lamb feast, this is the place to go—and don’t miss the chance to be served by Lolita. Highly recommended!

I recently visited Yiasou with my best friend, who had been raving about it, calling it the best restaurant in Brooklyn — and now I completely understand why. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The grilled octopus was absolutely divine — perfectly cooked, tender, and full of flavor. I can honestly say I’ve never had such delicious octopus anywhere else. And the tiramisu? Heavenly! Creamy, rich, and the perfect sweet ending to our meal. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. They took the time to help us choose the right dishes and even recommended cocktails that paired beautifully with our food. Everything was made with care and served with genuine hospitality. At the end of our meal, they surprised us with warm, freshly baked cookies — such a thoughtful and heartwarming touch that made the experience feel even more special. Thank you so much to everyone at Yiasou for such a memorable evening. I will definitely be returning soon with my family!

Hosted a 30 person party at the rooftop on Yaisou this weekend. Working with the staff was so easy, everyone was extremely accommodating. The vibes were great, great music and energy. The food was excellent as we’ve come to expect from Yaisou and Next door. The bartender also did an amazing job with cocktails and mocktails. Highly recommend this spot for a birthday party or a fun local night out.

I was planning on going to another restaurant near Yiasou, but after reading their menu, I decided to try this place - I've passed by it so many times! I loved the atmosphere; it was very comfortable and spacious and the music was very calming. We ordered braised mussels, a combination Greek spread, grilled octopus (it was amazing), a grilled chicken kabob dish with sauteed vegetables, and a lamb dish with orzo. I was hesitant because I thought the orzo would be overcooked and mushy, but it wasn't. The lamb also came right off the bone. Chicken and beef are common things I eat, but lamb isn't and it didn't disappoint! Everything was so delicious we ended up ordering espresso and tiramisu, just to sit a while longer and have conversation. I believe Mediterranean dishes are healthier and "cleaner" than what I normally eat. Everything was so appetizing and I ate a lot, but I didn't feel sluggish or too stuffed like other greasy foods. The waiters and staff were also very attentive and quick to replace utensils and dishes, and serve our food. I will definitely be coming back to this place. I'm upset I hadn't tried out this place sooner!

Great atmosphere, nice music on the background, staff is very nice, helpful, yet unobtrusive. They know the menu and ready to suggest a dish or answer questions. Plates are somewhat on the smaller side, but the food is fresh and you can taste the difference: tomatoes taste like a ripe tomato should taste, fish is tender and delicious. Saganaki served with a nice presentation and tastes like it should, I prefer it served with jam, but in this case it tastes well solo. Try their octopus, of course. It is not a cheapest place in the area, but well worth it.

I've been to this restaurant several times and it's such a delicious and comforting place. Whenever we had fish or meat, everything was delicious! Every time we go we have their special tiny sardine sandwiches as appetizer, always great starter. Last time we had small dorada filler, rib-eye, Greek-style eggplant, horiatiki salad and mouth-watering saganaki. Yum! Keep in mind fish sold by weight, so it wouldn't come to you by surprise with a bill. It's preferrably to pay in cash to avoid card charge, don't ask - don't know. I love their tiramisu, so save some space for a dessert.

Great tzatziki with warm Greek pita. Delicious semi-sweet imiglykos red wine. I had Arnaki Yiouvetsi - baked lamb with orzo, tomatoes, and cheese and while I'm not a fan of orzo, it was overall very tasty and I felt like I could definitely have that lamb meat again and again! My mom had souvlaki and the chicken was dry-ish, but sauteed potatoes and vegetables were delicious, well seasoned and very tasty overall. They also have numerous different fish which we will definitely try next time.

Good fish. But don't come if you don't eat fish, because they have nothing but fish and one lamb dish. Their domadies were very good with chop meat and rice. Salad was mediocre. A small crumble of feta and already dressed with too much dressing. Plus they said I would get a romaine salad and it was with oak and spring leaves and they make me sick. So, I didn't complain but hated it and thought overall too expensive for the food though the fish was excellent if can eat fish.

A first time visit. Enjoyed the very pleasant setting and the appetizers including tzatziki, delicious grilled octopus, and tomatosalata. The grilled branzino served whole (the best way to eat it) was very good. Excellent service provided by a very attentive waiter. Will definitely return.

Came here with friends for a friendly get together. The dishes are expertly prepared. With Octopus salad being the best one I think. Even considering that it is not the main course. The party was big so we ordered much of the menu. With Lamb Chops heading up the meat dishes and many varieties of fish. Everything was enjoyable even though I found it a bit overpriced especially the wines. So the availability of BYOB is great. I also think that prices are a bit high though the location may be to blame for this. Enjoy the food on the menu but also make sure to check out the specials, some of them are pretty tasty Show less

Food good just not a fan of the small grilled octopus it's edges are a bit too burn for my liking. Atmosphere is noice. Although I was given a glass that was a but dirty but they replaced it. Overall food is good.

Lovely spot at Sheepshead Bay, outside dining space across from the water. Freshly made Greek food, the grilled squid is excellent!! Next time we will definitely try a grilled fish dish. Attentive service, nice atmosphere.

D
Dr. Who Time Lord

Averagely priced for the area. That unfortunately means it is quite overpriced for Brooklyn. Dishes are very similar to Turkish, in my opinion. Taste is ok, but not impressive. Would it be 10-15% cheaper I would come back. Otherwise, not planning. Service and atmosphere in the restaurant were good.

Delicious food. Seafood is fresh. Great selection in wine too.

A
Adam Segal-Isaacson

Food was good but quite pricey for basic Greek food. Oysters were excellent but other things less so, for the price. Salad was a bit mingy. Desserts were a mixed bag. Chocolate cake and Bekpaklava was reasonable but galaktoboureko was soso. Overall better greek food at an actual greek restaurant rather than the greek-for-russians this is.

Amongst a streetful of mediocre places, Yiasou is truley a find. I would say mostly fish, but ahhhh the fish is fresh and wonderful. The staff is always helpful and friendly, and their's always an interesting red or white greek wine to try for the first time. Love all the small plates too. But perhaps this is the best recommendation when my mother in law turned 99 this is the restaurant we chose. Worth making the trip to Sheepshead Bay for this lovely place.

H
Howard Falcon

Food was good, service was good. With this being a very expensive place, our bill was $350 before tip, I would have expected the manager to walk around saying hello and making sure everything was alright. The owner sat at the end of the bar all night.

D
Daniel A

Arnami Yiouvesti aka the lamb with orzo was extremely bland. Literally tastes like nothing. Couldn't even tell there was cheese in it. Really bland. The Glossa Fileto or the Sole fish was pretty good. The spinach was fresh not frozen. The Media Krasta or mussels were pretty good. The service was ok. The waiters were good. The bus boys that served water didn't pay enough attention. The shots of alcohol were pretty big. About $59 per person with tip and tax.

J

Food = Excellent. Service = Good. Wait time = A little rediculous. Atmosphere = Vibrant. Nice. Seaside/Marina... Value = Not the greatest. Overall Experience = Pretty good. Comment = There maybe better options for fresh. seafood; there are Manhattan-level prices.

A
Alexander Natanzon

Food is reasonably good but far from outstanding and high price is definitely not justified. Non of Greek specialties is even close to how they are in truly Greek restaurants. Coffee is just a colored water. Well you can't expect better from Greek restaurant run be Russians

D
Daniel Pino

Atmosphere/layout *Mostly four seat tables; small bar; view of the bay from across the street Service *Very slow at a time with few other patrons Food/drink *Appetizer - Skordalia (better with regular bread than the pita bread), Entree - Arnaki Yiouvetsi (very good lamb, orzo dish) Overall, food was good but service took the rating down

N
Nance A

Beside this place being clean, staff friendly but not very attentive, have to asked for water refill, lemon which took 20 mins to bring..Sorry but this place is not what I expected, over priced.. $60 for one grill snapper, $30 for a slice of salmon... Ridiculous. No flavor, the only thing that was good was the fried calamari. The potatoes was ok, had better. For the price we paid here all together , I will continue going to Tavarna Kyclades in Astoria, food there is worth the price, you get more for your money and taste so much better.. worth my trip out there.

J
Jon Athan

If you come here, get the fish. Fish and some appetizers were amazing. The rest of the food was not so good. Had someone at the table order a chicken dish and it was undercooked and over seasoned. Higher than neccessary pricing too but that's in line with the area it's in.

L
Leron Benari

Its a decent restaurant if you have the money. They dont have much meat which is understandable for a seafood restaurant. Their appetizers are good but they dont even put the price on their fish. The fish was amazing but was very expensive. The staff was fine. Its a good restaurant for a special occasion.

J
Janelle Gardner Jordan

The family and I dined a week ago. The food was okay, nothing exciting. I had fried snapper with steamed veggies. For the quality, I think the seafood dishes are EXTREMELY overpriced. What truly dulled our experience was the way in which our server handled the bill. He assumed we wanted one bill vs. individual bills, and to top it off, there was a surcharge to use a debit/credit card. First and last time, I'll ever dine here too many other great options in the area.

B Skyline

This used to be our to-go spot every weekend. Lately, both restaurants are lacking in service. We went to Yiasou a couple of weeks ago and asked for extra olives, was charged $6 for 6 extra olives. I certainly do not expect anything for free but I think charging half the price of the whole salad for extra olives is not ok. Lately visited Next Door, also owned by the same owners and we had to ask for the side because the water decided to just skip it. The owners are very pleasant ppl but I guess the management is lacking. Too bad the only decent spot to dine in sheepshead bay is falling apart.

m

Delicious food with great varieties. The waiter brought the check to us before we ask for it, it’s not right guys, never do this again. We are not coming back to this place.

S
Sergey Morozov

Nice variety of fish for sure, but waiters are not attentive to their customers: - started serving food and drinks from men, not women - did not replace (or at least offer to replace) forks and knives after appetizers - mussels were not well cleaned, some had sand in them - asked for extra napkins, never got them - did not check back to ask how the food was - did not offer desert menu For the prices charged, guest service really needs to be improved.

E
Emily Rakhnyansky

Food was very mediocre BUT INSANELY EXPENSIVE! I would not recommend they charged us $32 A POUND for raw blackfish. They also charged us another 5% fee just to use our credit card on top of sales tax.

B
B G

I had oysters and grilled octopus appetizers followed by a baby ribs with potato wedges. It breaks my heart to say that the prices do NOT reflect the quality, taste, or presentation of the food. Potato’s bland and dry. Meat dry. Oysters… not sure how one can even mess those up. Drinks could have been way better, but unfortunately they don’t even have a drink menu. Grilled octopus was actually pretty good compared to the rest of the food served. Another miss of a restaurant on Emmons Ave, it’s a darn shame.

It was one of my favorite places to go for Greek food. I haven't been there since before covid, the food was horrible. Swordfish was frozen like the kind you by at Costco. The server was unfriendly saw him 2xs to drop off the food and give us the check.Caviar spread was all mayo diet coke was flat and the ice tea was rancid. I gave this place 2 stars because the salad was good and I think I was being generous. Probably will never go back there again.

I recently dined at this restaurant and unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. The only positive aspect was the warm greeting from one of the owners, who displayed excellent manners and respect. However, the rest of the staff lacked proper training. From the confusion over our order to the mismatched dishes that were served, it was clear that the waiters and busboy were not properly trained. So much confusion and frustration even from the beginning before the dining. Me and my partner ordered 2 separate dishes. The waiter who initially took the order assumed that we were going to share, even though it was not the case. After clarifying everything again and taking notes properly he left. Suddenly in about 3 minutes after another waiter jumps in and starts taking order even though we already have ordered and a sparkling water bottle were already served at the table. When the food has arrived It was a mismatch between our dishes. I got my partner’s dish and he got mine. Again, the waiter and assistant just assumed, not taking proper notes. Despite the delicious main course, the dessert selection was disappointing, and the inability to accommodate a simple request for skim milk in a cappuccino was perplexing for a restaurant in NYC. The most absurd part was when the busboy abruptly slammed a basket of bread and butter on our table after us being present at the restaurant for at least 40 minutes. That was something. He was so out of touch, that we didn’t even get a chance to tell him that we were waiting for the desserts already. Even getting the check required excessive effort, as I had to resort to glaring at the owner to get the waiter’s attention. Overall, while the food may have been decent, the service and attention to detail were severely lacking. Not acceptable.

The atmosphere was great and the service was very good but I personally was not a fan of the food. My family also wasn’t a fan and it was extremely expensive.

Was one of my favorite Greek restaurant BUT I went on a Saturday night January 2022... and here it goes... We had reservation 7 pm on a Saturday we get there no one is in the restaurant just 1 table at 7 pm on a Saturday? We order a stuffed filet with crabmeat and lemon potato. We specifically asked if they had it the waiter, said yes, of course so what do we get Pan cooked filet over roasted potato...not even close, called him over; he started talking, making no sense. we said forget it we also order grilled octupus which was sliced in a dish to look like it was more then what it was $ 28.00 spanakopitas was NOT fresh ..gave us the bill not even offering desert or drink for the screw up..really bad considering there were 2 people in the kitchen a 3rd watching the game a bus boy a waiter no tables..and still manage to screw it up...I m a chef and as one I find no excuses for this..so never again.

One of the worst restaurants I’ve been to in this area! Staff and service are good but thats about it! Food is tasteless and overpriced! Very basic menu and everything costs double then what other restaurants with much better food charge! Don’t bother going here unless you want to waist money!

I took my husband to this restaurant for Father's day and the reservation I made did not matter. I made reservations for six and they tried to stick us at a table for four. The wait for our food was unbelievable. Then it got worst! They got our order wrong. To top it off the food was not great. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT UNLESS YOU HATE THAT PERSON.

Just wanna give a review of the horrible service and food I got today at Yaisou on Emmons ave. we walked in a server sat us down.. It took us 10 mins to be asked if we wanted water. Then as we're sitting down ordering appetizers we realized that we didn't get any bread. So okay.. We look around and 2 other couples walked in got bread, treated very well, so we asked for some bread. The server said he will check and see if there is any, mind u it's 4pm on a Saturday so pretty empty. We wait and wait and wait for our bread and never got it, so I ask for a manager.. The manager didnt care much and said we had to pay anyways for the food I didn't even eat because my mood was ruined. What ever we ask for to go plates and I start putting my food in and guess what arrives???? Our bread lol... Oh And let me mention how all the servers were talking bad about us right in front of our faces.

Worst experience ever. Took my wife here for her birthday and waited over an hour and a half and was never served. They even took the table we were sitting at for another family. Im not sure if they were racist because we were black.

They overcharge for frozen food. They are super cheap with their portions and it was a complete waste of money. Great service and good atmosphere. If you want to leave hungry and eat rotten, frozen food then this is the place for you. I definitely do not recommend it to anyone. The worst dining food experience I've ever had.

This escalated quite unexpectedly so read before going. Due to Thanksgiving, my options were limited so I ended up here. At first, the dining environment and the service seemed quite essential but further into my experience everything kinda turned upside down. They had no accommodations for children so I ended up ordering Macaroni and Cheese for the young one, I didn't realize I was ordering pasta and a tablespoon of cheese sprinkled on top, I also found out when the bill came that it costed $8. Also only fountain soda, no canned soda. Further on, we ordered three separate fish, all around 40$, and waited around 30-40 minutes. I don't know if it's the style of the place but the food tasted very plain, as if they favored unseasoned food. I swallowed away the tasteless Bronzino and my company couldn't finish theirs and took it to go. I asked for the bill and the bill was brought to me written on paper with a pen, I don't know if there isn't a POS or again that's the theme of the restaurant but the total came out to $138 and I paid with my card, they manually inserted a $25 service charge, which isn't even based off a percentage, but it came out to $163. All in all I came to a restaurant with Manhattan Prices, experienced a dining experience that was surprisingly contrary to what it seemed to be and left with almost $200 less for a time that would've been beat almost anywhere else for almost quarter the price. Menu price isn't matching the taste nor experience so Management is doing something wrong. I'll be back here when this place closes and another hopefully a better place opens.

Horrible rotten fish and overcharged. Bad food.... Also, make sure to ask the price for daily fish dishes ahead of time. Otherwise, you will be ripped off. Horrible service. Be aware! Only, Some of the appetizers were good.

very disappointed. The waiter treated us very rude from the first minute, As if you owed him something. also was absolute carless what we need and helpless. he was russian guy. if i could choose i would never give him tip but, nobody asked just charged us 20$ for tip. food was ok. not good, not terrible . prices very hi. never come back there and also never recommend to anyone.

I understand we came at a busy time, they were all full but that doesn't mean it's ok to provide bad service. I'm not expecting a miracle, but a smile while speaking to us, maybe take dirty and empty plates away, you know the usual. This was second time we came here, last time was few years ago. What can I saw, service was horrible, killed everything. Very slow. Asked several times for bread as well as other things. First time ever I had a waiter leave not 1 time but 2 times while in the middle of taking out order. Refilled water first time after like an hr and half. Waiter didn't even come once to check if everything is ok. Asked for a bread, never even came. Just overall bad experience for an important event as Father's Day. Would of gave 0 stars if I could. They are also pricey, won't ever be returning back, plenty of other great places around.

We booked a table for 8 pm, but when we arrived there were no tables and we had to wait in line for 40 mins. Then we got seated at the table from restaurant next door, which did not have real size menu, just tiny fyers. The table did not have table cloth like all other tables in Yiasou Food was okay, except iced tea which was like water with a bit of color and dirty mop aftertaste, overall the atmosphere and experiece was pretty bad

Wish I could leave 0 stars and that would be too much. Came here with my pregnant wife and not only were we ignored but the waiter and everyone in the establishment were so obviously racist. Only serving on Greek people and wouldn’t pay attention to me and my wife because we were brown and didn’t speak Greek. Soda was flat, soup was awful, didn’t wait around for the entree because of the blatant ignorance and disrespect from the staff minute one. If your not Greek if you are black or brown don’t go here you won’t get service. 👎🏽

I dined at Yiasou recently and had a mixed experience. The service was disappointing, with slow and inattentive service. However, a young and diligent busboy stood out with his impeccable service; he deserves a promotion to waiter ASAP. On the other hand, the owner's choice to allow smoking at tables outside was off-putting. The fish dish I ordered was excellently cooked, though the price seemed steep compared to other local restaurants. This was our third time visiting and sorry to say the last time.

We came with our family today on Mothers day. We only got a partial order after 2,5 hours waiting. The owner came up and did not apologize for the service and was very unprofessional and root. I will not come back to this restoration again.

Went there for lunch with friend on a week day. They offered us a fresh red snapper. When the bill came they changed us just for a fish $70 plus we had to pay $ 4.50 for credit card transaction. My bill end up to be $144 just for one fish and one Greek salad. That’s was the biggest ripoff for a week day lunch! There are so many great restaurants in NY city offering lunch specials this place is not worth it!! Be AWARE do not take anything if not listed in the menu you might end up of being catch of a day!!

A
Alessia Mucaria

For what you pay is not worth it. Octopus was over cooked and vinegar was covering the taste. Lamb was ok but still no worth all those money. We didn’t eat that much we shared appetizer and one main course for 113$ 2 people covering all restaurants. No hospitality from the owner (or whoever is the lady seating next to the entrance) we were in front of the restaurant and after few minutes waiting she was expecting me to go right in front of her to ask for a table probably because too lazy to stand from the chair and show kindness to new costumers. Also she was treating the workers like slaves Never again

This was the worst Mother’s Day experience ever we came to enjoy Mother’s Day. The food was horrible. The service was horrible complain to the owner. The woman came to the table with a nastiest attitude possible she shouldn’t be allowed to speak to people all she said, was shame on you didn’t offer any resolutions we come to this place every single year for either Mother’s Day or Father’s Day this is the last time we would go to this place. They’re greedy they overbook and there’s no service whatsoever

This is the most dishonest restaurant I’ve ever been to and I’ve been to a lot. I barely write bad reviews because I don’t want to mess with people’s livelihood but they stole our money. They add a tip without even even noting it on the check and then they create a phony check with their own signature. They stole my friends money who contributed for the check and added it to the tip on top of that making 240 dollar tip that was never agreed upon while charging us the full amount. They saw we were overwhelmed with babies and took advantage. These people are thief’s and I’ll make sure to tell everyone to avoid them like the plague. Not to mention I had the worst food poisoning I ever had that night.
