Avis sur Young Ethel's Brooklyn
Cute neighborhood bar with delicious cocktails and events! There is a big back room where they host stand up and other events. They also have pinball, an important feature of a 5th Ave bar. Bonus: the laundromat next door has (or had?) a happy hour deal with them!
Went there for a comedy night, loved the daring, rather dark jokes. Venue set up is fresh and professional, very glad this spot supports creative people ❤ while staying affordable for the neighborhood. Will definitely return.
Can’t go wrong at Young Ethel’s for a happy hour cocktail. Great fun bar staff. Everyone chats to each other, really friendly space. Lots of events too. Go check it out.
I've only been here a couple of times but I'm a fan. This place is unique because it has a stage in the back and they host events every day ranging from comics, to artists. Check out their website to see what's going on this week. I came in an hour before closing with a rowdy bunch and the bartender was chill about it and didn't ask us to leave until about 30 minutes after their scheduled closing time. He also makes great drinks so great spot all around.
A cozy, warm vibe at this chill spot in Park Slope. Friendly bartender, good beer selection, relaxing back room with couches and stage for open mics, music, and entertainment. Clean. Some throwback design (Nirvana album on wall), and some tasty filling munchies if you’re hungry.
Young Ethel's is a very laid back yet intimate space to share a drink on a date, or catch up with the girls. It has a very unique antique vibe and the overall ambiance was very warm homely and inviting. I went there for a Stand up comedy night on a Wednesday, hosted by Dan Wilbur and enjoyed every bit of it. I think there are different shows there on Wednesday night (not just comedy) so if you're into night life enjoyment def something to check out.
Came for a comedy show and only had a drink. It's a relaxed bar, dimly lit and well suited for meeting up with friends or a post date night spot. They have a section at the back for comedy/stage performances that was curtained off for separation. I came alone and enjoyed the friendly vibe.
Disgusting establishment. Rude and nasty service, drinks are watered down. Manager got offended when I mentioned that the cup I was served with wasn’t washed properly as there was clearly lipstick rouge left on the rim. I will not be visiting this place ever again.
I had a very upsetting experience at this bar. After a short time there, I was asked to leave, and the staff made comments that made it clear it was because I’m Jewish. No one should ever be treated differently because of their background or religion!!!
They kick out whoever they feel is not like the group. Chanting defund the IDF and cursing us out. Horrible energy won’t go back
If I were able to give 0 stars I would. I searched this bar online google and thought it would be cool to go with my boyfriend. What I thought was an open-mic/performance night in the back room was actually being used for a political fundraiser. That was fine — we stayed and listened — but when my boyfriend asked a polite, respectful question, several people in the crowd started yelling aggressive and antisemitic things at us. It became very uncomfortable, and instead of calming things down, the staff asked US to leave. We felt completely disrespected and unsafe. I’m sharing this because everyone deserves to be treated decently, no matter their background or beliefs. When I complained to the staff I was told it was freedom of speech and they can say what they want. There is a difference between FREEDOM Of SPEECH AND ANTISEMETISM. Avoid this bar at all costs
