Solid chinese food. Orange chicken, veggie lo mein, shrimp dumplings were quite good. Kung po chicken didnt have much flavor. Egg rolls were good but they didnt give any duck sauce. Overall definitely good food. Update: Got the duck, dry as a bone, dont spend your money on it.

Not bad for being on the Mexican Border. The Chinese Communist Party plexiglass and masks still seem to be the fad. The staff were attentive and friendly. The eggrolls were not the best. Basically your standard frozen ones you can get in any freezer section at any store. The BBQ ribs were really good though. This restaurant is all in all pretty good.. The selection is not bad, the flavors are outa the ordinary for the Valley! Bottom line, it's a good spot for Chinese food in Brownsville.

Food was cold, like they microwaved but it never happened. I drove up to there drive - thru didn't know ,that is had to go inside or call to order, they gave me the menu in my car then still made me go inside..... Needs a major face-lift.

Well I'm sure the original owners don't own this gig or the others. Anyways customer service was poor. Yet the table across from us got 100% attention every 2min. Vs. Us sitting and waiting and waiting and sitting. There were only 2 on our side and us made 3 and yet they never cked on us. I asked for fried rice they brought me white, I asked for red chili pepper they call hot sauce I waited, even asked another waiter and no response still had my food getting cold and no hot sauce. Had to waive the cashier to bring me some and she flagged someone and so shysty brings me 1 itty bitty container I'm like I need more. Still waited on that. Never gave us nor brought us entre soups that whatever soup of the day it is. Got squat!. Ignored no refills, as if we didn't exist. Bad service from when I stepped in the restaurant was sitting there for more than 10min. Till I got adressed and even then worse customer service ever. Food was ok not as great as it use to be. But I don't think I'll ever come back. Idk what it was for us to have bad service and not attended. Yet others they were on top of it. I was like okaayy.. whatever!. And as we leave we got the fortune cookies. FYI so Stale guys you need to ck expiration date on that too. I'm more than sure they are Expired!.

Lemon chicken was super thin and dry. Pork fried rice had lots of meat but lacking any flavor.

I came to Lotus to have a great meal before attending an event, but the experience was extremely disappointing. Our waiter, Roberto, provided terrible service from start to finish. He ignored our table and refused to properly check in on us, the busser was the one who actually came to see if we needed anything, even though the restaurant was not busy at all. He was also very forgetful. He failed to bring what I specifically asked for and instead replaced it with something else without explaining why. When I questioned why the wrong plate was placed on our table, he responded with a smart remark and tried to brush off the issue instead of taking accountability. It wasn’t until I made the problem very clear that it was even addressed. The overall customer service was unprofessional and careless. Coming from a waitress myself, I understand how service works, and this was not it. If someone cannot provide basic, attentive service, they should not be working as a waiter. This experience really took away from what should have been an enjoyable evening.

I ordered egg drop soup and beef chow mein. The soup I received was a clear cabbage soup — no egg ribbons, no thickness, and nothing resembling egg drop soup at all. The main dish was also wrong: instead of beef chow mein with noodles, I was given a combo-style plate with fried rice, beef and cabbage in brown sauce, and an egg roll. There were no noodles. Photos are attached so others can see exactly what was delivered. This wasn’t a minor mistake — it was a completely different order.

I usually always eat here but today is the last time they see me there. Most rudest girl I've spoken to on the phone don't know if she was a manager and if she is she shouldn't be one. Ordered a plate and they messed up on it and she had the audacity to say it wasn't their mistake. They overcharged me as well and she claims they didn't. She's very horrible at explaining and she was also yelling with a nasty attitude not letting me talk. This was sunday 11/9 and morning time around 11 am or 12pm, she obviously woke up in a bad mood today.

Their closing time is posted as 9:30pm but close the kitchen at 9pm. Please update your hours if you are not going to accept new orders after a certain time. Really disappointing.
