I normally don't rate fast food, but because it had been suggested to me by the guy at churches chicken, that didn't have livers. Chicken express carried fried livers and Bushes fried chicken has closed down, alrhough not my first time there, I went down for my first experience with there deep fried livers. They come in 6 or 12 btw golden batter fried and as delicate as cake. FOR 7.89 I got an iced tea, gravy, and a roll that filled my tummy in a good way. Sometimes it's that true southern food that will allow you to decompress and my Sunday was glorious. Very impressed and will be visiting them again soon for my next cravings reup!!! This is by far the best fried chicken place I have ever been to. Gus’s and lucy’s in Austin have NOTHING on this place. The fries are amazing and somehow almost buttery. The Mac and cheese is good. The place is spotless. The employees are more than pleasant. BUT the chicken. Omg. Its the best. Blows kfc, popeyes and all others out of the water. It was so crispy and fresh when you squeeze the jalapeño juice on the chicken it’s sublime. Thanks y’all.

The most crunchyist chicken in the states, with the least amount of oil. Haven't found another place like it. It is so good, but you need to eat in moderation! Or you will blow up like a balloon with high blood pressure 🤣

We don't often indulge in the fast food world, but when we do, this place can be a good treat. I personally feel the chicken here is superior to KFC both in taste and being meatier. The food is always fresh and hot, and the staff are always very helpful, and friendly whether it is lunch rush or later in the evening after dinner. I really love the rolls and biscuits. And the sweet tea. Of all the chicken places in the area, it is hard not to come back here every time.

This location has good fried fish as well. Love the pickle chips! Good, soft chocolate chip cookies. My Daddy likes the gizzards. It's against the law to come and not get their tea.

The chicken was fresh,hot,& NOT AT ALL greasy. Hardly any wait time. The manager was firm,respectful & patient with the young staff, a few of them working for the first time. I can't tell you how refreshing it was to see and experience excellent managing skills coupled with bright & eager young men ready & willing to start the workforce with such good attitudes. I'm pretty sure it made our meal that much better! I couldn't ask for a cleaner establishment. The guys checked on is while we were eating, they were very studious and respectful. April 2023 Dang, if you like catfish... You need CE in your life. Drive-thru was a bit wonky, but the food was NOT. Hot-delicious catfish, hushpuppies, and fried okra -- what could go wrong. NOTHING! On the pricey side, but for a once-in-a-while fix, worth it. PS: get an apple pie too, you will NOT regret it!

Service was excellent from the time I called my order in to the time I picked it up. Caden help me get a bang for my buck. Thx u Caden. I asked for my gizzards to b fried crispy n they were perfect. So perfect that I had to have some on my ride back to Brenham after work. 45 minutes later they r still crispy n so is my 8 piece family chicken. I am pleased with excellent service n food. We came in from out of town for a family emergency. This is place was super fast and had excellent customer service. In the cen-tex area, we always go with Bush's. However, our experience in Bryan-College Station has been much better with Chicken Express. Now that we live in Colorado, getting fast fried chicken is a must when we come back 'home'. Super impressed with this location.

Every time I visit this location I always receive fast, friendly and clean service. The chicken is always fresh and delicious, the menu is great and it has a lot of variety and side orders to choose from. This is a great choice & location for anyone who wants some good quality food.

The food is always good. Good chicken tenders and regular chicken. Good fish! Good fried okra! Hot Rolls! Taters and gravy, French fries! Good corn nuggets. Mini poppers are good but warning-they are HOT! I especially love the way they send take out in boxes instead of styrofoam, and French fries in a brown bag! That is genius! Take out in styrofoam makes the food soggy before you get home! This is our go to take out place! We are very picky about take out, Chicken Express is the winner!

Every time I visit this location, I am impressed. The service is quick and people are friendly. The cashier usually tries to upsell a little but isn't pushy. My order came out piping hot and correct. The food is good and the chicken strips are not too greasy. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a quick and delicious lunch.

I ordered the catfish. I've been wanting to try it every since my aunt told me the fish there was good. She was right! The wait was definitely worth it: hot, crispy catfish and hush puppies were perfect! I will be returning in the near future.

My favorite fast food place in town. A bit on the pricey side compared to Church's or Popeyes but very much worth it. If you want to get fat off of fried chicken, this is the place to go. That sweet tea is some of the best I've ever had.

This place is without a doubt the best chicken restaurant in BCS! The chicken is crunchy and perfectly cooked. The sides are also perfectly prepared, especially the mashed potatoes. And to top it off, the staff and service is second to none! If you have the hankering for chicken, whether pieces or tenders, livers or gizzards, or fried fish, give this place a try. You won’t be disappointed!

Any drive-thru with fried pickles on the menu is an automatic five stars. That's just the rules. And I haven't seen fried livers offered at a chain since I lived near a Williams Chicken. This place is pretty cool.

Every time I visit this location (Bryan,Tx) they always have the best customer service! The food is always fresh and they repeat the orders 3 times which is very good! I went tonight 1/15 around 8pm and the young man that took my ordered helped me out by making my order cheaper telling me he was going to ring in my order a certain way so that way it could save me a $1 or 2. I appreciated that! I never leave reviews but felt like it was needed! This locations customer service is always on point!

My grands and I ate dinner there. It was hot and delicious. I passed on the tea today although I do love it. The chicken was a tadbit salty it seemed. The chicken tenders were not salty. We still enjoyed it.

Great food as always. I’ve had a couple experiences where I’ve tried to call ahead to order livers but the phone goes to a fax machine sounding ending. Other than that, friendly service and perfect food!

If you are going to violate your diet it may as well taste as good as the tenders at Chicken Express. Their spicy tenders are just right and they serve a tasty white gravy with them. I usually order their delicious green beans as a side so I can convince myself that it was mostly healthy.

As always CE was good. BUT , I was surprised that they would NOT start an order of gizzards 10 minutes before my arrival. Every other CE I've been to recommends it. 🤔🤔🤔

I'm not a big fan of chicken. My wife was craving chicken. Happy wife happy life so she got chicken and I tried the fried fish which surprisingly for fast food was very good. Tried a 2and time and ditto. I highly recommend the fish if ur not a chicken fan.

Really a wonderful surprise! They were able to load me up with about 40 tenders and sides in less than 5 minutes. At the office, the tenders were gone in about 4 minutes! I was blown away by the fried okra (not greasy), the mac and cheese (as good as the Republic), and the biscuits. I'm done w KFC - CE is the way for me!

Chicken strips here are pretty good. Not sure when they started but they offer spicy strips now. If you like some heat on your food then you should definitely try the spicy strips. Mashed potatoes taste like they are straight out of the box. If you want to have a heart healthy meal this is definitely not the place to go. Everything is battered and fried. Sometimes the sides come out really greasy. Tried the pickle chips recently and they were so greasy that they soaked the bag. This is normally a place I just drive through and they are always very prompt and accurate

Im never disappointed when ordering from Chicken Express. My food is always hot and delicious. My orders were correct. The cashier repeated my Order to confirm the accuracy, when ordering and at the pick up window. Staff was/is courteous and thanked us for coming. They have the juiciest breasts, ever.

We love Chicken Express, & eat at locations regularly, so I was disappointed to be nickled & dimed by this one. Ordered fried pickles & had to ask for ranch. My husband ordered hot wings. When he asked for ranch, he was charged for it. The food was consistent as always, but I'll stick to locations that aren't more concerned about their $.80 than they are their customers.

Went in around noon today. Two customers ahead of me had food missing. Took my order. Multiple customers came in after me. They all got their food. Drive thru got their food. I asked where my order was and was told they just put the chicken on to cook. I asked for a gallon of tea and they gave me a cup. They said they would have to refund the entire ticket and recharge me. Or I could just pay for the cup and the gallon. I took both because they made it difficult to correct. The food was really good. I will go back but hope the service is a bit more organized.

Genuinely better chicken than Lanes or Canes. This is gonna give me some hate but if we're being honest, people like those places mostly because they like going there with friends. This is not a trendy diner experience. But let's be real, you're not coming to a chicken express for a sit down diner experience, you're coming here because you want some fried chicken. And their fried chicken doesn't need a sauce to be good, it's just yummy as it is. So would I reccomend it? Yes. It's not my go-to place, since I prefer a traditional full meal, but the chicken is actually good.

The best thing on the menu next to the straps is the Fish. Only takes 15 minutes and the option to drop a drink for and extra side is the best. Funny though great chicken place but they don't sell a chicken sandwich. Worst then on the menu is the bone in chicken

They were struggling that night...thrice repeated the side choice differences between 2 spicy tender meals and still coukdn't manifest at the window...long drive-thru wait...in the end, food was served hot as always, consistently...has there been a management turn-over recently, though?

Restrooms& lobby are always clean, Always greeted with a smile from cashiers, as well as management. Always be sure to check your order BEFORE leaving window because food is NEVER hot or fresh, even when you ask, they agree& make you wait.

Update... done in now appears to be open finally. They finally hired someone to work the speaker at the drive thru that you can understand. Just paid $30 for 4 pieces of chicken, a soggy family fry, stale poppers, and a sweet tea. Chicken Express is ok. The fries are a lackluster but the chicken is usually good. I don't believe they allow dining in. (It's time to open those doors) it's not the best but it's the best in Bryan.

Other people who said food was too expensive were right. Look at my receipt, for a 7 tender combo. 😳 I picked up at the drive thru so I can’t say anything about the interior of the restaurant, but ordering was difficult because location is near train tracks. But the staff was very friendly.

Was visiting and decided to go to chicken express on my way back. I got the number one with corn nuggets. Well, the corn nuggets you could tell they were old and the gravy is water down so much to where there is water on the top tried stirring it no flavor.

The food was fine, but the staff was rude. I also got a rip off when they tried to tell me that I didn’t order a drink with my combo meal, so I went ahead and paid an extra $2 for the drink (which I wouldn’t have minded doing, but combos come with a drink, and it’s annoying when they’re rude about it). Looked it up online later just to confirm that combos do come with a drink, and they do come with one.

For those of you who are new, here are some Tips. 1. GET YOUR RECEIPT!!! 2. Check Every paper Bag, Box, Or Styrofoam Container. Do this on every one before your Drive Off or Walk Out. Never leave without Checking. If you do, you'll be sure to have all that you Paid for. Otherwise, Buyer Beware. Last batch of Gizzards were most gross I ever tasted.

I had spoken to Lewis the manger I I presume. I mentioned to him that the last two times we ordered through the drive thru the chicken was dry like and had been sitting there for a bit. I asked if he could make sure it was fresh and said he would give us fresh chicken if we could wait 20 minutes. I said ok. Well we waited for 20 minutes or more they did bring our order out. I was disappointed because fresh hot chicken will be steaming and hot and once again the quality of their food that they are known for being great is headed in the wrong direction in which we may not come back as often or at all. I hope they get back to basics and take care of their customers like when they first opened up.

My order does not have mash potatoes , I didn't ask for them , they're not on my receipt either . I asked for a #1 - 4tender combo, including corn nuggets, and a corn on the cob. Gravy and a roll. I seen my food when I got home (far from there) I seen mash potatoes in my box ,instead of corn nuggets, they just gave me the wrong side. The communication was excellent.

I used to come here whenever I'm in town. In the past, the fried chicken was amazing. My last visit, however, was a disappointment. The food was cold and the chicken lacked the usual crispness. I'm gonna have to look for somewhere else to go for fried chicken.

The fish was barely warm the fries was cold and half cooked and the roll tasted terrible. The grease they use needed to be changed or they need to use a different kind.

The manager on duty lied about how long the wait would be for an order. It took 25 minutes to get one chicken breast.

Worst experience. I ordered a leg, wing, French fries, corn nuggets, and a jalapeno pepper at 12:03pm. After seeing 6 cars after me leave and at 12:16pm, I proceed to ask management why I still had no food? The manager, Louis says and I quote "well what do you expect, you ordered chicken at noon"! And let me know the chicken was STILL cooking. Just horrible service!

I Had stopped at one of my favorite to go spots when ever I am in town to get half way up the freeway to Realize my Silverware was missing. I then called when I.got to a place to charge my phone and spoke with the manager named Veronica she then began to.tell me if I was still in town she could replace what was missing. So I then told her I'd be back in town tomorrow sometime Then she proceeded to say if she was going to replace something it would have to be on that same day. Then I let her know I would send my daughter to get it she asked where was the receipt I said I can send my daughter a picture of it so she can just get whatever it was that I needed . I.was places on hold she came back and said im just going to have to send my complaint to their home office . I then just said ok thank you and hung up the phone. I will NOT! stop here every again when I'm in town. Check your box and make sure you have something to eat with before you drive off.

4th time going through drive in portion at the Bryan location - WORST customer service experience! wrong orders all 4 times- ask for SWEET tea get unsweet tea- ask for certain side- get wrong side- ask for certain pieces get the exact opposite- they are so busy joking around and cutting up inside of the store the do NOT PAY ATTENTION. I am beyond angry that I get all the way to my job to find out the orders are wrong after waiting in line for more than 10 minutes! Call on phone and NOTHING but excuses, UHUHUHUH... I mean not even a sentence. Beyond angry. Don't even bother if you want a correct order with decent customer service!

The general manager Francisco didn’t even bother to see what was going on with my order. Sat there 15 minutes waiting on my food only to find out it had been done and sitting off to the side the whole time. My food was cold by the time I got it.

I was very upset I waited 45 min for 3 pieces of chicken and 2 biscuits, and when they brought it to me they tried consoling me by telling me that I received fresh chicken. I am pretty sure the chicken should always be fresh, maybe that was their way of telling me it is not...

They can never get my order right. When I call back with a receipt of what I paid for and what is missing. The manager questions you and assumes you are not telling the truth, even though I have a receipt. I was not pleased with their customer service and will continue to go to the one in College Station instead if Bryan.

Honestly this will probably be the last time I eat here for quite awhile. They have halved the chicken portion sizes. The strips are literally less than half of what they used to be. Ramon I think he is very, very, very unprofessional. My husband orders the same thing everything for me. #4 Liver and gizzard the big order with both liver and gizzard. Today the did not place ord we the way he said it and my husband dropped it off for me at work and left. When I finally sat to eat the order was all gizzard. I can't leave work, he wouldn't remake it and my husband is on the other side of town. So absolutely inconsiderate to gas prices and then he was so rude on the phone and said well If we had ordered it properly we wouldn't have had an issue. Just absolutely horrible service and management Mr. Romon was the worst. Zero customer service!

I went through the drive thru and ordered $60, worth of chicken. I simply asked for an extra gravy because what they gave me was a small regular gravy, The lady at the drive thru window said "we have to charge for extra grave $1.29", which I felt was ridiculous since I had just spent $60 already. I asked to speak to a manager and when he came to the window, he told me the same thing! This is Not customer service!!! Had I not wasted 30 minutes in the drive thru, I would have asked for a refund and got my money back!!! This place has lost my business! Over $1.29.

Sign on the door says dining area is closed for renovations , but there are cars in the drive through so I hop in the drive through line. Wait about 10 minutes. The person in front gets out and checks the first car to see what the issue is and why no one is moving. Turns out they have closed completely and didn’t bother to put a sign on the drive through or add that the drive through was closed on the front door sign. This is such bad management and lack of common sense/judgement.

Back in the spring of 2017 I had a tonsillectomy and the only thing I could drink without being in horrible pain was Chicken Express tea. Ever since then we have purchased 3 or 4 gallons of tea per week. Last week (Tuesday) we purchased 2 gallons that were weak and not very sweet. Knowing that we would be getting more tea soon and not wanting to complain, we just sweetened the tea at home. A couple days later (Thursday) we purchased 2 more gallons. Same thing...weak and not very sweet. I called the store and was told that a manager would call me back. No one ever called. I returned to the store the next day and asked to speak to a manager. The cashier was annoyed that she had to find the manager, but reluctantly did so. The manager, Luis, came to the front and leaned against the wall while I explained the same story as above. He just stared at me and then said “Okay?” I explained that I was hoping he could help me since we come in a couple times per week. He then told me that if there actually was a problem with the tea I would have turned around and returned to the store right away. I explained that I have a 3 year old and that isn’t always possible. I also told him that I had called, but he said there weren’t any messages for him so I must not have. At this point the cashier was standing there rolling her eyes and there were several customers waiting to place orders. I said, “I’m sorry you didn’t get the message. I just wanted to let you know that the tea hasn’t been up to the usual standard and I was just hoping there was some way to make it right since we have been here a couple times per week for almost a year.” He said, “Yeah, I know. I’ve seen you in here. There’s nothing wrong with our tea, but I guess I can just give you another gallon.” He handed me a gallon of tea and then said nothing else. I told my husband what happened and he was upset that after spending so much money there (even after the price of tea increased) that a manager didn’t want to help us and basically didn’t believe me. He returned to the store and asked to speak to Luis. The cashier was once again annoyed. Luis proceeded to tell my husband that yes he sees me at the store a lot so he knows that we’ve spent a lot of money there. But that he was perfectly reasonable and did everything he could to help me. My husband explained that the way Luis had spoken to me was not reasonable and certainly was not “everything he could do,” especially when he knows we are frequent customers. Luis told him “I think I’ve seen her a couple times, but I already gave you a gallon and I guess that wasn’t good enough” My husband asked for a number to the district manager and then left. When he got to the car he realized one of the numbers that Luis had written down was smudged. He went back inside to ask for clarification on the number. The cashier saw him, rolled her eyes, and said “Again!” to Luis. Well at that moment Luis was on his cellphone (where my husband could see him) calling the district manager to tell him about a problem customer (me and my husband). Luis confirmed the number and my husband left. He proceeded to call the district manager and left a message. He didn’t hear back so he called again. Still haven’t heard back. We have not been back to the store.

Placed a simple order of 4 pies and corn nuggets. Before driving off, we checked our order to see there were no corn nuggets. The receipt showed we paid, the cashier repeated the order three times but still, no nuggets. After going into the store to recify the situation, we were denied our item (That we paid for) and we told to give our name and address? needless to say, we left unsatisfied and will not be returning to that establishment

Horrible experience, ordered at drive thru. I asked 3 times for honey mustard sauce, of course they forgot which is fine so I went inside. I told the guy at counter I ordered honey mustard sauce he said that's no problem its $1.72. I was like you must be joking I already paid, he said that's nice. Made me pay. Will never ever go here again.

I ordered a 3 piece with mashed potatoes, okra, rolls and 2 jalapeños they short the pieces of meat but charged me for them. This is the 3rd time I have received a wrong order. I have called and they won’t even answer the phone. I am done with them, give me what I pay for. It’s either you can come right back or there is no one on duty authorized to reimburse me. I will make a formal complaint with the head office.

Worst experience I've ever had at Chicken Express. Ordered tenders and cheese sticks. After waiting 20 minutes at the back of the building, where they told me to go, I finally parked and went in. Place was total chaos many people waiting, I asked for my money back and said that I didn't want my food, which wasn't even made yet. Took almost 10 more minutes just to get my money back, I tried to give the manager the coin change from the $20 bill I had used so I could just have a $20 back and she blew me off. 30 minutes later I have no lunch, a pocket full of loose change and bad attitude.

The general manager today at lunch would not release an order to me because she wanted me to verify items and would not get the bag out of the back so that I could confirm that she had the correct order. I have always had a problem with management there and I would say that they should be a little more friendly with people in the Brazos valley. I have had many problems from this location and I don’t ever have any problems from at other locations. I am a mason and don’t appreciate seeing people being treated in this kind of manner. I appreciate it of the owner would take a look into this matter. I will be calling the headquarters to file a formal complaint.

Me and my girlfriend came through the drive through earlier today and the guy who took our order was rude and disrespectful. He seemed agitated the entire time then he lost his composure when I asked a question about the menu. So we just left.

First time ordering from here and I was extremely disappointed in the way the person at the speaker acted. I had never been here before so I didnt know the options of the combo, and when I asked about the options (twice since I didnt hear him) then when he answered, his tone sounded irritated. Even my husband noticed and wasn't happy so we immediately decided to go somewhere else. I was excited to try Chicken Express but I don't tolerate being treated like that. A shame.

Tonight at 9:19 and ordered 1 piece of fish and a wing meal. I was told that it would 10-15 mins. They have my food away!!! I rolled back to the windows and asked about it. They acted like it was my fault. I finally got my food at 9:59 The manager said We have you apple pies. Like that helped with my time. I'm missed. SOMEOME THERE NEEDS TO MAKE THIS RIGHT!!!

I go here all the time but the last past three months the chicken has been way to hard to eat the batter has to much flour or not enough liquid or just not pulled when it supposed to be which has lead to very very very hard chicken .I know when something change here because it was a favorite spot for me and my lil family but not any more cost is to high for the employees too play with my food and my intelligent like I don't know how I,m begin treated the customer service was has still been horrible I had my food handed to me without any eye contact and walk off leaving me with any thing to eat with so now I got to get out in come in . I have to go to Collegestation store just to be satisfied why is it when you start working in customer you start to hate your job and less care about to people you wait on who help make your checks.

There is a fried moth in my food. Won’t be coming back here especially since I didn’t get a full refund. I already ate two chicken strips before I saw the moth and that’s why they didn’t refund all of my money.
