I have been coming to Ichiban for the past 6 years. I have not had a better experience at a restaurant! The service is very good, staff is highly attentive, caring, and knowledgeable towards their customers and the food they serve. Whether I do takeout, or dine in I always feel welcomed in and properly taken care of. The food is amazing, some of the best sushi I have had, and the best in Buffalo. I highly recommend eating here, the atmosphere is beautiful, and the employees are friendly.

I’ve been coming to Ichiban for over 5 years, and I can honestly say I’ve never had a bad meal here. The sushi is always incredibly fresh, beautifully prepared, and absolutely delicious!Whether I’m dining in or taking out, everything is timely and consistent. The hibachi is just as impressive, it’s always flavorful and cooked to perfection. Also the servers are always kind, attentive, and make you feel genuinely welcome. Ichiban sets the bar high, and they never disappoint. If you’re looking for top-quality sushi and hibachi with good service i highly recommend!

Absolutely amazing sashimi! The fish was incredibly fresh, beautifully sliced, and presented with great attention to detail. Each piece melted in my mouth, bursting with rich flavors and perfect texture. The combination of different cuts, from salmon to tuna and beyond, made for an excellent variety. Highly recommended!

This is my favorite place to get sushi! I’ve come here several times and it’s always fantastic. My favorites are the tiger roll, celtic roll, and the volcano roll. The sushi is always beautifully presented, fresh, and tastes amazing. I’ve also enjoyed the gyoza, miso soup, and age tofu as appetizers. Service is always fast and friendly. I’ll definitely be back soon!

My kids and I enjoyed some delicious sushi. The presentation looked good as well. The staff there was extremely nice, especially our server. She made sure our drinks were full, and very nice. I will definitely head back there soon.

I have been going to Ichiban for years and have never had a bad experience here. The owner Annie and her husband are always so kind and friendly as well as the entire team of staff there. I try to go once a week because the food is so good, affordable, and they act like they are genuinely happy to see you there. Annie has helped me navigate menu options as someone who was recently diagnosed with celiac disease. She is always looking out for me. I appreciate her and everyone there so much. Definitely my favorite sushi spot in Buffalo.

I cannot say enough great things about Ichiban. The staff is friendly, efficient and accurate, and the sushi is out of this world. I can't go more than a week, sometimes a few days without craving the Tiger Roll. Anytime I get sushi from anywhere else, I'm immediately upset that it's not Ichiban because nothing else compares! It's always so fresh and delicious.

Excellent sushi! We drive over an hour just to come here. It has been a struggle to find a high quality sushi restaurant in the area. Ichiban is the first I've found that has a nice variety of rolls that aren't all masked with spicy tuna. They have sushi chefs and not some guy named Mark you went to trade school with that's into "fusion" ie. Adding pork or hot sauce to everything and cutting portion sizes/jacking prices. The special rolls were huge, some having 10 pieces. My only complaint was that the Wasabi Lobster roll was 80% crunch, 1%lobster, 19% everything else. I would never order that again. The Ichiban roll was fresh and very much like a Naruto Roll but with rice. I would highly recommend. The mango tango tasted great but was the size of a standard $6 roll. I also got the scallop, white tuna, and the Naruto- which were all very fresh and tasty. I love that they offer a variety of sake at very reasonable prices. Oh and the age tofu was pretty good. It was a large portion, which I like but... usually the pieces are smaller so they don't fall apart and become a hot mess. Which is what happened so it was difficult to eat. I'd still order again! I was also happy to find they offer both low and regular sodium soy sauce which is pretty rare now that most have switched to only low sodium. All the staff especially our server were so nice, efficient, and friendly and everything was very reasonably priced. I'm already planning for my next dinner!

Best pepper tuna salad I ever have ! I try to find poke bowl in this area , my server recommended chirashi bowl for me. You can tell the fish are so fresh and very pretty presentation. And the special roll, love the sauce so tasty. Small restaurant but server so friendly and quick, definitely will come back again!

GREAT FOOD! Fresh, the cuts of meat were carefully selected and served beautifully. We ordered Hibachi. Not over salted, so important with some of these chains where they use too much. Not here. Staff was very friendly.

I was pretty disappointed with my experience here. Service and atmosphere were fine but the biggest letdown was the food. We ordered miso soup, chicken yakitori, a couple of sushi rolls, and salmon teriyaki entree. The miso soup was very oversalted. The first few spoonfuls were bearable but by the end of finishing the soup, the salty taste was overpowering. The chicken yakitori were not bad. The sushi rolls were decent. The salmon teriyaki dinner was the worst. The salmon was dry, overcooked, seemed cooked from frozen, not fresh. Our server was very friendly. No complaints there. The food came out at a reasonable time. The atmosphere was nice. Lowly lit and not too loud. The place seem clean as well. Overall, the only complaint I have is the food. With that being said, no matter how good the service and atmosphere is, if the food isn't great, it doesn't matter in my opinion.

I dont know why people like this place. My girlfriend and I ordered from this place and got chicken teriyaki, rolls and shrimp tempura. The chicken teriyaki was the worst I have ever had, light on sauce and seasonings and it looked just sad. The rolls were meh but we got a small amount for 14 dollars. The container it came in was smaller than my hand. ( See picture). But the icing on the cake was how stingy they were with sauces that came on the side, like soy sauce, they were maybe 30-40 percent full, in those tiny containers. For the price they charge absolutely embarrassing. Save your money and stay away from here, because this stingy place is 100 percent watered down of what Japanese food should be.
