Spices of India is praised for its friendly owners and staff, delicious and reasonably priced food, and the convenience of a combined restaurant and Indian grocery store. The buffet and samosas are popular, but some customers have reported issues with naan quality and customer service.

Avis sur Spices of India Buffalo
Wonderful people working here. The new owners are doing a wonderful job of running the restaurant. So glad the buffet is back because we love coming here often and bringing all of our visiting family and friends. They go above and beyond to make sure you have a great dining experience. Everything is so delicious and freshly prepared.
This place is fantastic! They carry all the Indian spices and vegetables you could need, along with an impressive selection of clothes and jewelry. It’s a go-to spot for cultural items, especially if you’re preparing for a wedding—you’ll find all the decorations, dholkis, and more. There’s also a little sweet shop on the side offering a variety of Indian snacks and sweets, with their dhokla being an absolute must-try.
Decided to stop here on a whim, it was the best decision ever. Lots tp choose from they have a bunch of frozen meals ready to heat & eat. Prices are reasonable the owners are soo very sweet, & kind. Also gotta try there fresh sweet baked goods. Delicious
Love this place. The people who own it/work there are amazing. So kind and friendly. The food is INCREDIBLE. picked up a take home container of buffet offerings today for dinner. Reasonably priced and extraordinarily delicious. Their frozen prepared food is also great. Love it all.
Great option in a convenient location. Recently ordered trays of samosas for an event, and they were delicious! Would definitely order again. I've ordered food from the restaurant before and shop in the grocery part of the store fairly often - all great. You might not guess since it's restaurant and grocery, but it's my favorite Indian food in the area. Highly recommend for an event or just for dinner.
We really enjoy getting lunch buffet from Spices when we're in the Williamsville/East Amherst area. The buffet food is prepared on the milder side in terms of spiciness. Although regular naan is included with your meal, we always upgrade to garlic naan for a slight surcharge. The best part of visiting Spices is the ability to pick up items from the connected market after the meal. Service is friendly for both the restaurant and the market. Spices is located in a large strip mall, so parking is not an issue.
Stopped in to try their dinner buffet. The price was great and what l loved is that I get to try a bunch of different things that maybe I wouldn't try. The texture of the naan was just to my liking. The paneer, daal, and chicken dishes I had were very good. The mango lassi was not too bad, maybe a little less blending and more mango and it would be perfect! The dessert was great, soan papdi and the semolina dessert were my favorite! The masala chai lacked spice but it was still a good end to the meal. The service was great, I was welcomed and greeted right away. I was surprised that no one else was there so l was the ambiance. Overall, I will be coming back!
Ordered below: Veg Manchurian (3.5/5) Veg biryani (4/5) It was not a typical Dum biryani but had a smoky flavor and good taste. Paneer tikka masala (3.5/5) Actually order paneer tikka(from clay oven) but got curry instead. Taste of the curry was good. Paneer was soft. Chicken 65 (1/5) Got jeera rice with Manchurian and chicken 65.
I placed an online order at 6PM through Spices of India for a 7PM pickup. I received a confirmation immediately, and there was no note anywhere on their website or ordering platform indicating a location change. When I arrived at 7 PM, the woman at the counter told me I needed to go to an entirely different restaurant to pick up my food. I asked why — the website never mentioned this, and my confirmation clearly listed Spices of India as the pickup location. She said their chef was out for the week and they were not serving food, but nobody had contacted me, cancelled the order, or even apologized. I was on my lunch break and didn’t have extra time to drive across town. I asked if they could deliver the food or refund the order and was told there was nothing they could do. I left with no food and had to scramble to get to the other place. This was a very frustrating experience. If a restaurant is unable to serve food at a location, they should turn off online ordering or contact customers before the pickup time. There was no communication, no apology, and no effort to help resolve the situation. I will not be ordering from this location again, and I recommend that future customers call before placing an online order to confirm the kitchen is operating.
Terribly pushy and rude customer service. Absolutely no food in the “restaurant” and I was not allowed to even look around the store without being berated by the cashier. Downright terrible
Literally trash! This was the most flavorless samosa I’ve ever had. The chutney was just onion with food coloring! If you want good food and a clean Indian grocery store go to Spresh!
