Today our apartment complexes were treated to a Thanksgiving Luncheon at Cotton Patch Burleson, on Friday, November 14th ~~~ The staff was very friendly, attentive, checked frequently to make sure each table was satisfied. The orders were taken and brought out in a timely manner. The food was still hot and very tasty ~~~ with smiles on each table. The atmosphere was one of relaxation and comfort which can be heard by all the happy chattering amongst most of the different tables. The service was good but the food was meh. We ordered the brisket queso, grilled shrimp and chicken fried chicken. The queso was very thin and the brisket was almost all fatty bits that looked boiled. The shrimp was luke warm. The chicken was good however.

Update: went back last week and it was worse. Food was cold, hard and not edible. We both had the chicken fried chicken with 2 sides. CFS was greasy and over cooked. They were also hard as a rock. . don’t know what happened to this location but this is the 3rd bad meal in a row and I won’t be back. If you go on meatloaf night you will wait 20 min just for your order… then you get a smidge of cold meatloaf with a side of beans that didn’t even give me a serving , it was 1/4 tiny serving dish. The food wasn’t good either … they got my order wrong again… then came out cold and had to ask for a hot chicken fried chicken and new hot sides not ice cold like I was served. My silverware was filthy and had to ask for more too. Waiter wasn’t attentive or filling our drinks and bringing up more hot bread while we had to wait. I guess that’s too much to ask here. I recommend you go to Our Place for country cooking… Cotton Patch has gone down hill.

Our order was to go we will definitely never order from here again especially not to go. The okra honestly was soggy like it had been under a heat lamp too long. The portions looked like they were restaurant portions but like lunch tray portions at elementary school. See mashed potatoes photos below. Noted my husband was there early before the food was done so this shouldn't have been an issue. The mashed potatoes came up in one movement so he can eat it like a lollipop. The ranch was runny for my salad and he had to drive back to the restaurant for his gravy.....and my shredded cheese for my salad. The front was quick to give his gravy but honestly people need to pay attention to their order screens and triple check. We wouldn't have thought to have to check our food there before going...but he didn't cause he was bringing it home to a wife who was feeling unwell. I am disappointed at the attention even on a Sunday. Husband got a generic I'm sorry and he had to come back and warm his food (though noted I told him he should've taken the whole meal back for the mistakes) BTW when busy check the drinks the Pepsi was good but that syrup on the Dr Pepper was low or not even distributed evenly.

It has been a long time since I ordered from a Cotton Patch Cafe..and I remember why. My food was delivered almost cold as ice. The fries tasted stale, there was no effort to give fresh warm rolls, and the chicken fried chicken was ridiculous. It looked like a decent size until you cut it open and it's just a sliver of dry flavorless chicken inflated by breading. Maybe 1/3 was even chicken. Parts of the breading was so hard that it cut and scraped my gums. If you want a moist THICK chicken fried chicken. I ordered 2 plates for me and my 2yr old twins. Taking odd the hard breading there was only enough meat for them. Not to mention I had to put the fries and rolls in the oven to try and make them edible! Skip the cafe and go to Cracker Barrel! My 2nd bad experience. Biggest waste of $32! If this is how all of their food is, I don't know how they stay in business!

walked and it was not busy, there were 3 tables sat and a group of waitresses just standing talking while it took 9 mins to be sat, then had to wait another 7 mins to ask who my waiter was because no one came to my table, once i asked who my waiter was, it took the person another 4 minutes to come to my table to introduce and ask what drinks we wanted, not to mention that she complained she was supposed to be getting off but had to take our table, the fried pickles were very overcooked to the point where the pickle was like a chip, the food came out just horrible, overcooked, cold just terrible. Between the staff, food and service, I will never come here again. Worst restaurant in this area.

Stopped in for dinner and honestly wish I hadn’t. My server wasn’t busy, just disinterested. I ordered a skinny margarita — she wasn’t old enough to serve it, so it sat at the bar for ten minutes until a she finally brought it to me. She said we are busy! By the time it reached me, it was small, watered down, and sad. My steak? Full of fat and no flavor. Between the poor service, bad attitude, and $40+ bill, this meal was a total miss. Cotton Patch used to mean comfort food — now it’s just overpriced disappointment. The economy is crap and that doesn't mean restaurants should be treating us like we are crap!!!
