Lovely restaurant with a large menu and daily specials to boot. The largest mussels I have ever seen in my life (and some of the tastiest). Not too pricey either, and the front of house staff are cheery, polite and very good at their jobs. Will definitely be coming back to La Pergola.

Very nice restaurant just outside Cambridge. It’s around 15 minutes driving from the city centre and it offer a free car park just outside. The restaurant is very nice and the staff really friendly. The appetisers were amazing! You can choose between pasta, pizza or meat to continue the dinner. The pasta was very good, with good portions as well. We end with a nice dark tartufo! We will definitely come back.

Had a great time here with a group of friends. The place was very spacious and there was plenty of room for us (group of 10). Reasonably priced food and very tasty. One of our group was Italian and he confirmed it was good food. Would definitely go back again. I wasn't disappointed and was left very full indeed.

Superb meal. We will definitely be returning and will bring the children with us as we know they will love it as much as we did.

La Pergola is a beautiful independent Italian restaurant with a warm, welcoming atmosphere from the moment you walk in. The staff are genuinely friendly, attentive, and make you feel truly looked after without being overbearing. The food was excellent, well cooked, full of flavour, and clearly made with care and quality ingredients. You can tell this is a place that takes pride in what it serves. A lovely dining experience all around. I would happily return and recommend it to anyone looking for great Italian food and authentic hospitality.

Great authentic Italian restaurant, had an amazing meal, service was warm and friendly, they were very accommodating and even put us a main through as a starter and brought it in separate bowls so that we could try the pasta and the pizza. Food was top quality and tasted lovely, and was very reasonably priced. would highly recommend for anyone wanting Italian food in the area!

Absolutely delicious food… the staff so friendly. Can’t believe we live 10 mins from here and it’s the first time trying. The roast pork is highly recommended.

Came here as a family without a booking on a weekday and we cannot fault the service or the food at all. The service was fast, the food was fresh, authentic and delicious and the tirimisu was the best I've had in the UK! Would definitely visit again.

Amazing food, great and speedy service. Really nice friendly staff. They're just a few miles outside Cambridge, but it's well worth the trip , it's a lovely set up with spacious car park and kids playing area. Definitely recommend the restaurant, either for just a meal or for any special occasion. Every time we go we can't wait to get back there. And every time we stop by for a meal we are reminded why they've won best Italian establishment. Yum yum yum:)

It was a friend of ours who introduced this restaurant with us. Hidden from the bustle and hustle of the city, this Cambridgeshire restaurant offered the best authentic Italian cuisine with us. Any Italian restaurant I go to, I would actually order the most basic, safest pasta there is and it would carbonara as I love white sauce-based pasta. Yesterday, 8th October, I was curious and asked the staff which was their bestseller so I can try it and lo and behold, he wasn't wrong. Their pappardelle mare e monti is to die for! Well-seasoned food that even my husband who has no palate for seafood, loved it. My daughter was torn with her Margherita pizza and the pasta. Thank you to the staff for bringing Italy to us here in Cambridge. Hoping to be back again!

Great food & service! 😊 I’ve come here on several occasions through the years & it’s always maintained a great quality. The pizzas are great & I see many people ordering pizzas, but you should try the pasta and starters as well because everything is great 😋 On Sundays, you have to order 2 courses at least for lunch. But if you are too full, you can get the dessert to go. The tiramisu is an excellent option for that 😋

Been here many times and it is hands down the best Italian restaurant I've ever been to! Everything is very authentic and nothing feels pretentious or like they're trying too hard. They put in the perfect amount of effort. The owners and staff are all so friendly and welcoming. As a chef I can tell how much love and passion they put into the food and its beautiful to see! Strongly recommend and I plan on going back much more often!

I have to give this Italian Gem 5 stars. I love that it’s very authentic Italian. The waiters have an Italian accent and its charming. The food is absolutely delicious and transported me back to Rome and Sicily. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone. The decor is very outdated but they focus on their food which to me is more important anyway!!

Fabulous food, good service and great atmosphere. Very reasonable prices for what is really, really good food. Portion sizes were excellent and the carbonara was one of the best I've ever had.

Really good Italian place, with a comfortable and modern environment. They understand good food, you can see by the way the dishes are cooked, cured, and set. Highly recommended. Have not been since the pandemic, and was pleasantly surprised: if anything, La Pergola is now even better: the menu has a number of exciting dishes, the floor staff and the owner are super nice and friendly. It looks like it will become our 'regular'...

I enjoyed a delightful Sunday dining experience at La Pergola. The highlight of my visit was their Sunday fixed price 2-course menu, offering any main, pizza, or pasta dish along with a dessert for £21.95. For starters, I indulged in the Scamorza In Carrozza—a heavenly creation of deep-fried breaded smoked mozzarella cheese, elegantly drizzled with a tantalizing balsamic glaze. The dish struck the perfect balance between crispy and creamy, setting the stage for a memorable meal. My choice for the main course was the Pappardelle Mare e Monti—a generous serving of wide strands of egg pasta adorned with a flavorful ensemble of wild mushrooms, prawns, and pancetta. The rich and creamy cream and white wine sauce elevated the dish, making each bite a harmonious blend of textures and tastes. Highly recommended for those seeking a Sunday feast outside Cambridge

This is family restaurant which has a nice atmosphere that gives you Italian vibe. This place has a free parking lot which plenty of cars can park. Also, you can toilet here. The food in short was amazing. We ordered Calzone Carne and Pizza Siciliana which were amazing. Definitely recommend this place.

Very very very good food. Definitely recommend taking your family and friends here. Not cheap fast food but genuine and honest. Very popular so book a table in advance. Also have an Aperol spritzer for the true authenticity. Many compliments to Raphaela, who is an excellent waiter.

Found this randomly when we were planning our drive home. Such a little gem! Really great food and family friendly too!

One of the few real Italian restaurant around Cambridge, this Ristorante offer a typical Italian meal made of antipasto (starter), primo, such as pasta, secondo, for example meat, and dolce, our dessert. I ate at least 3 or 4 times here and it's time to share my experience. I usually have an antipasto, such as Calamari fritti which are tasty and light or scamorza fritta, cheese breaded. Then a primo, pasta mare e monti or cinghiale, and I share a secondo if I'm still hungry, which is unlikely. A dolce (please try their Tiramisù!) and I'm done, ready for an Italian caffè. I really love this restaurant and its welcoming owners, try and you'll definitely agree with me.

Visited twice in the last month. Fabulous home made food, great service. Tiramisu is delicious. Reminded me of restaurants I’ve visited in Tuscany. Looking forward to sampling more of the menu! Highly recommended.

My wife and I had our marriage registration celebration at the restaurant. They arranged a beautifully decorated long table for the guests and a three-course menu (of variety) for the occasion. The food was amazing and the service was very good despite a busy table we had! Very pleased with the whole experience of the day there!

Food is lovely. Traditional Italian feel. Only lost a star for service because we arrived for 14:15 booking to be told that the kitchen closed at 14:30. Felt rushed.

We went to La Pergola on valentines night and had the most amazing meal, we both had the veal for our main and the meat was so tender it just melted in the mouth Should not have been surprised really as we have been going there since 2012 and have never ever had a bad meal yet it’s always been excellent and the staff are always very friendly definitely going to keep going

We were in for the valentines menu, Absolutely amazing food and service. The evening was beautifully prepared with every little detail set for a enjoyable and romantic night. The menu was amazing, catered for everyone and the trio of deserts was an amazing end of a beautiful meal.

Just as an Italian restaurant should be in my Italian eyes. Visited as a group of four and immediately felt very welcome. Staff were all super nice and helpfully. Restaurant has a real Italian homey feel, not over hyped or staged for Instagram, just right. Food was very good, home cooked flavours, not trying to be something it’s not, as Italian should be. This won’t be our one and only visit!

Fantastic valentines night at La Pergola. Food was spot on, service was lovely. Value for money and always good food. Quality food and portions are always more than enough. Food is authentic and has run through the generations. Lovely people all round. Always a pleasure to go there. 💯 Recommend this restaurant if you have not been there.

Lovely home made Italian food. Helpful efficient staff who dealt with our walking group very well indeed! Highly recommended. We returned after a week with the rest of the walking group. A superb calzone!

Sometimes delicious but a bit inconsistent. Early dinner on a Saturday, so quiet to begin but soon became very busy. The atmosphere capturing the authentic Italian experience, though the packed space and abrupt service may be a little too much for some. The pizza was excellent. Would highly recommend and, if returning, would get it again. However, the carbonara was too far on the raw and crunchy side of al dente, and the tiramisu was lacking in flavour. Pricing on par for a Cambridge restaurant.

A really relaxed place for a lunch/dinner out in the countryside, can be a really convenient stop after a visit to Wimpole estate. We were a party of 4 and a 2 year old. We were well looked after and I really liked the atmosphere on a Sunday noon. Our dishes was a bit uneven in how we enjoyed them overall, but some really stood out for the better like the tiramisu and the gnocchi.

J
Jinsy Jose

The food was good, had all the right flavours, however lacked the fresh authentic punch. But nevertheless a nice place to dine with the family and little ones. The service was slow, however the waiters looked after us well.

Excellent discovery. In the middle of countryside a piece of Italy. Really nice service, tasty traditional italian food, pizzas really high quality from a biig oven. Current renovation work outside makes outdoor atmosphere less nice. Inside italian style noisy talkative positive chaos. Prices on the costly side. But worth it.

Amazing place. Quality food is really good and service is very quick. We booked a table for a group of friends and the staff were so good with us. The owner was super all time looking after us. Highly recommended.

I've eaten here a few times. Food and service are good. The main problem is that when it is busy the restaurant is incredibly noisy and you end up almost having to shout at your friends to be heard. They seriously need to invest in some sound absorbing panels for the ceiling to greatly improve the dining experience and also the working environment for staff.

We have been coming here for years' everytime we visit our son and grand children in Cambridge ,we as a rule arrange a visit to "La Pergola" The food is always to our liking as is the service. My only disappointment unfortunately is with the Sunday set price for two courses. (Main + Dessert.) With two people in our party that do not like Desserts, we would have preferred to have had a starter + main choice. (I would quite understand that some starters would need to carry a small surcharge) Sorry just a small criticism to otherwise a nice restaurant. In view of the above perhaps we should avoid Sundays in future. Happy Xmas and all the best for 2026

I attended a joint 60th birthday celebrations. The food atmosphere & staff were excellent. Staff Polite & helpful at all times especially when the party 🥳 got going!..The Roast lunch was served piping hot variety of veg, atmosphere was great, along with bopping to 80's music. Great venue for parties & food!

L
Lyle Miller

Really disappointing given the price. We had an 8:30pm booking and, while I understand this is later in the evening, the service felt unwelcoming and very rushed from the start. The music was turned off around 15–20 minutes before we’d finished our meal, which made it feel like we were being pushed to leave. We were served starters, mains, and dessert all within an hour, and before we’d even finished our starters we were being asked if our plates could be taken away. The food itself was bang average and only lukewarm at best, which was especially disappointing as we’d been looking forward to dining here for some time. If the restaurant is aiming to close around 9–9:30pm, it might be worth not offering bookings later than 8pm. As it stands, the experience didn’t justify the cost.
