Muy rica la comida, buenos precios, lugar agradable y la atención del Sr. Felipe inolvidable, muy amable y atento

Comimos muy rico, la sopa de mariscos y los burritos de camarón estaban muy ricos, recomiendo los tacos de mariscos y de carne. Seguro será nuestro lugar favorito para comer o cenar .. quiero probar la langosta al mojo de ajo..

Quisimos probar los ceviches, cócteles de camarón y mixtos con pulpo y estuvieron increíbles, un lugar muy recomendable, no se van a arrepentir. Tienen los mejores precios y te invitan un shot de tequila en cortesía. .

La comida estaba exquisita y era abundante, compramos un asado que traía tortillas, carne, pollo, longaniza, arroz, palta (aguacate) etc. además al llegar te regalan unas tortillas chips con tomate y cebolla más salsa! La atención fue excelente, rápida y muy amables. La carne estaba deliciosa y blandita. Todo nos encantó! Lamentablemente fuimos en nuestro último día en Cancún. Además cuentan con wifi ya que ese día nuestro internet falló y nos pudimos conectar con el wifi que nos dio el amable caballero que nos atendió para pedir un Uber y finalmente nos recomendó un bus que salía mucho mejor. Esperamos volver pronto a visitar Cancún y volver a este restorán! La relación precio - calidad fue super :) visitamos otros lados mucho mas caros y la comida aquí estaba mejor, se nota cuando algo es preparado con cariño. Lo recomiendo definitivamente

The seabass stuffed with lobster was excellent, the fish ceviche was super fresh, and the homemade margaritas were some of the best we’ve had… did we mention the FREE after dinner tequila shots 🤗. Fun, casual vibe with a great music selection and fair prices for extremely fresh seafood. Felipe was a great bonus — friendly and made us feel totally at home! Highly recommend!!

Don’t listen to the bad reviews!!! This restaurant is amazing and worth every penny. The owner was so kind and the food was delicious. It is very underrated. You must go here. I’ve travelled all around the world and it is unreal. It is an absolute dream of a menu and I will be coming back.

This is by far mine and my husbands favourite place in Cancun! We first came here about five years ago and had such a great experience that upon returning this year we couldn’t wait to go again! This time we brought my mum and brother too. We were so happy it was still there and it did not disappoint. The food was delicious and the service as usual was fantastic! Felipe and his wife are equally charming and fun! We also like to pop into the place next door and get a massage or a fish pedicure. You can take even take your delicious margaritas in with you. I can’t recommend this place enough! We are only even here for three days and are planing on going back again before we leave!

Calypso’s is one of those hidden gems you’ll be glad you found. Honestly, it’s a bit of a dive at first glance, but don’t let that fool you—the food and experience are incredible! We loved it so much we went back multiple times during our trip. The seafood was fresh and flavorful, and the tacos, burritos, and enchiladas were all outstanding. Prices are much lower than nearby restaurantsand the food is better. The atmosphere is relaxed and fun, and the owner, Felipe, is the heart of the place. He’s super nice, welcoming, and makes you feel like a friend from the moment you walk in. It’s the kind of spot where you can kick back, enjoy amazing food, and feel right at home. If you’re in Cancun, don’t miss Calypso’s. It’s the perfect mix of great food, fair, fun outdoor patio vibe, and genuine hospitality

We were trying new restaurants every day on our vacation and this was the only place where we came back again. The host or owner is such a sweetheart you feel immediately happy to be there. And the most inportant is food ofcourse, the food was absolutely delicious, we tried Mexican food, we tried seafood and everything was top notch! If you like see food try octopus or fish with shrimps, if you like Mexican food burritos and tacos was amazing. After food the host gives tou two shots of homemade tequila!! Highly recommend this place and if i could i would give it more than 5 stars!

Delicious. If you want fish while in Cancun this place is delicious and won’t break the bank. The full fish was 600 pesos and the soup ~300. The soup was very fresh and had clams, octopus, shrimp, and a large filet of another fish. Delicious. The full fish was fried and you can get ~8 tacos out of it. It would be a lot fried fish to have for one person, but if you split it with someone and get the soup it’s a nice mix of fried and fresh.

Intimate restaurant with friendly atmosphere. If your looking for a good home cooked meal I recommend and have nothing but positive remarks for felipe the owner. He will make you feel so welcomed and taken care of with a visit! And can’t forget about the guacamole 🔥

We came to Calypso's THREE TIMES during our stay in Cancun. I have a medical condition that requires me to be gluten free. Filipe took the time to tell me which items I could have and he made me feel incredibly safe. His restaurant is celiac safe. The food is wonderful and I am still thinking about the salsa! I love this restaurant, the food, and Filipe! I highly recommend it! *NOTE: THEY ARE CASH ONLY!!!! They accept US dollars and pesos* FOR GLUTEN FREE FRIENDS: The chips are made in a dedicated fryer. You can have all of the tacos, but not enchiladas or burritos.

My husband and I had dinner here, and I had 1 shrimp and 1 octopus quesadilla, it was very good! My husband had the Mayan fish which was grouper and he says it was delicious, that it was cooked just right. I took some pictures but after we'd already started eating, we were pretty hungry. Very friendly and good service!

Food was BOMB really well seasoned and served nicely, the portions are generous and prices are affordable! If you’re looking for top notch sea food for a great price, this is a great place! Walking distance from the party scene plaza and hosts are really nice, makes you feel at home and comfortable to ask about anything on the menu. 10/10 would come here again for great food and service

La comida es rica y a precio normal, los platillos entre $200-300 pesos, las bebidas también a buenos precios; creo que podrían mejorar la presentación de sus platillos y el personal (sin embargo no dejan de ser muy amables) y sugiero que tengan pago con tarjeta, queríamos langosta y como no tenían por el momento nos regalaron 2 shots de tequila

We ordered the grilled fish and grilled octopus. Although the menu listed a specific price for the fish, the owner explained that today’s catch was larger, so there was an additional 50 MXN charge. The fish was excellent—crispy skin and very tender meat. The octopus was a bit chewy, but both dishes were incredibly fresh. The owner is friendly, easy-going, and a very nice person to talk to!

The food was actually very good, and the prices are quite reasonable for the location. The owner is very friendly and creates a great vibe. I was pleasantly surprised that they also accept CAD. The seafood tasted very fresh, and the steak Taco was absolutely delicious.

The tacos were really good, unlike must we have had so far, we really enjoyed them. For the grilled fish it was okay, too greasy. The owner is really nice, and welcoming. This was the only nice place we found around the area. Tacos were 120 for 3, grilled fish for 250ish.

Es el 1er lugar que visité al llegar a Cancún, solo, que me decepcionó... MI esposo y yo llegamos, sólo había 1 mesa ocupada, así que pronto nos tomaron la orden... Después llegaron a ocupar una mesa, dos, tres, cuatro y más de extranjeros con la misma prontitud les tomaron su orden... En fin, llegaron los platos de los gringos, de los chinos, más gringos y así... Y nuestra orden... 🕛... 🕙... No llegaba... Todos atendidos, menos nosotros... Y eso, que al pagar la cuenta, mi esposo no pidió fiado, ni regalado, pagó, exactamente igual que cualquier extranjero... Y el sabor de la comida, más o menos...

The food at this place is genuinely tasty. I can specifically comment on my dish — a seafood soup with lobster. It was excellent, rich in flavor, and very well prepared. My girlfriend ordered fried fish with rice, but the price was calculated as if it were fresh fish — 400 Mexican pesos per kilogram. The dish itself was tasty, but visually the portion clearly did not look like one kilogram. Considering that it was already cooked fish, the discrepancy in weight was even more noticeable. I would recommend being careful — it feels like the actual weight may not match what you are charged for. You should also be aware of the drink prices: Coca-Cola costs 59 Mexican pesos, and beer is around 80 pesos, which is above average for similar places. We were served directly by the owner. When paying the bill, my girlfriend left a 50-peso tip, after which the owner asked why it was so little and why not more, pointing out that it was “only 2–3 dollars.” Given the high price of the food and the concerns about the fish weight, this comment felt inappropriate and unpleasant. As a result, the overall impression was slightly spoiled. My personal feeling is that the owner behaves in an overly greedy manner. Conclusion: The food is good, but be very attentive to what you order and what you are charged for. Also keep in mind that the lobsters here are actually very small — it is important to know this in advance

La comida se servió rápido pero honestamente ni a mi mamá ni a mi nos gustaron los tacos de camarón ni pescado, solo venía con cebolla y cilantro, no estaban bien condimentados como para que nos gustara, el pico de gallo que dejaron en la mesa estaba salado, en general no regresaría a probar lo demás :/ por $180 esperaría algo mejorcito de sabor por tres tacos

Fuimos por los buenos referencias pero nos decepcionó totalmente. El pescado que en el menú dice que sera fresco era pescado congelado y tuvo un sabor muy raro. Si no es pescado fresco por favor no lo venden como pez fresco. Hasta me sentí mal después de la comida. We went there because of the good reviews but we got totally disappointed. The fresh fish was frozen fish and had a very strange taste. If you don't have fresh fish please don't sell it like fresh fish. I even felt kinda bad of my stomach after eating there. Definitely not worth it. Never again

El lugar se encuentra en una localización inigualable, en la zona hotelera. La atención del personal es buena. El gran PERO es el sabor de la comida. Comí 2 órdenes de tacos (de camarones y de pescado mahi); las cuales son los tacos más insipidos de toda la región, totalmente sin sabor. Es una lastima puesto que tienen todo a su disposición para mejorar. Por el sabor de la comida me temo que es una trampa de turistas. Además no aceptan pago con tarjeta.

The food was terrible. I order 2 lobsters and they tasted like they died in 1968. I couldn’t eat them they tasted rotten and smelled bad. The salad and side dishes tasted bad. Like they were prepared weeks ahead. I usually like rate and comment on good food only but this was way beyond bad. I do not recommend this place to anyone. Watch for food poisoning. The owner sets on your table uninvited and just talk and talk and talk. We told him that the food was spoiled but he was just saying I am sorry my friend and laughing.
