Great place for a nice lunch with my sweetie. We sat right at the window overlooking the beach. Place was pretty empty, so it was nice and quiet. Service and food were excellent. I had the cedar planked salmon (wild caught king salmon) which came with rice and steamed veggies. Absolutely delicious. My husband had the ahi tuna salad, which came with wasabi dressing. He really enjoyed his, as well. We finished our the meal with a trio of creme brules - lemon raspberry, blackberry, and traditional. Nice meal at a decent price.

I had a wonderful experience with each dish. I tried three different appetizers, one entree, and one dessert. Each having their unique taste and flavor. I’ll start with the Kim Chee Calamari. It was fried to perfection. Crispy golden color texture combined with the flavor of the crispy vegetables delivers scrumptious results. I later tried the Coconut Crunchy Shrimp, which had excellent taste. The sauces compliment the shrimp and execute great flavors. The last appetizer was the Shrimp, Avocado +Mango Stack. Presentation was eye-catching. Each layer was visible and had great taste. My entree was phenomenal. I ordered the New York Strip Steak medium well and was impressed. It had a nice sear and grill marks which are a good sign of a delicious steak. The steak was seasoned well and had extraordinary flavor. However, it still needed more time to render the fat and the potatoes needed more seasoning. Other than that, it was a great dish. Finally, for dessert I had the Hot Chocolate Lava Cake and was impressed. It had terrific texture and flavor. A nice fudgey center combined with a flavorful ice cream topping. This is one restaurant that has both a terrific view that pairs well with their dishes.

The mahi steak here is quite good. The beef steak is also good, but the portions are very large, so you might want to split it between two people. The lava chocolate ice cream is a must.

Favorite place to eat on or trip San Diego and Del Mar. Went multiple times and loved every meal we got. Will go back every time I am in the area. The staff was amazing and friendly. Enjoyed the great staff and views as much as the food.

The Chart house is our favorite place to celebrate special occasions. Try their Avocado, shrimp and mango stack (appetizer) it's delicious! Food is delicious, service is great and if you get a window table it will make your dining a little extra special.

This was our first visit to the Chart House but it definitely won't be our last. The waitstaff was outstanding, the food and drinks were great, and the views were beyond amazing!

One of our faves when in Carlsbad! We come for Happy Hour. Pro-tip: Check with the restaurant to confirm HH hours. Current is 3pm-6pm, M-F. The service is excellent and the appetizers are as well! We love the Firecracker Shrimp, the Calamari and the Truffle Fries! Then, select one of the Sliders or Steak HH offerings to top off your meal.

Although Chart House is technically a chain, it does not feel it at all. My Co workers an I had an excellent meal and excellent service from the Valet to the bar and dessert. We started with the Kim Chee Calamari which was incredible and a steal on the happy hour menu. So much flavor we all thoroughly enjoyed it. For my main course I had the prime rub which was excellent and we were recommended the Lava cake which was enough to share and very rich. Make sure to order this early as It takes 25 minutes to make. Would definatly go back again. Located on the beach has great sunset views and valet parking.

Partial Bday celebration for my wife. Very nice right on the ocean. The service was exceptional and the food delish!!! Our server was very helpful and basically helped us order 2 of the most delicious dishes. Specially prepared Salmon, my wife had the prime rib and we ordered the calamari. Fantastic , and it's our new special occasion choice.

When the windows are open the breeze is fantastic. A view of the sun setting while eating is relaxing. And the food, with a large focus on seafood, is great no matter what you order. The Mac Nut Cobia, as seen in the pictures, is full of flavor as well as the Moscato Sangria. Service is very attentive and great at making sure everything goes well. Would definitely recommend for date night or just a dinner with a view night.

We took our son here for his birthday 2 days ago. Was crowded with several birthdays and a work group. Did was excellent but service was a bit slow. We didn't mind much as we were stayed at the window watching the surf.

I was a huge fan of the Chart House in the Bay Area when I was younger. Hadn't been back to one in years. Then we moved to Solana Beach and decided to try this one out. It did not disappoint. Our squid ink pasta with shimp and scallops with ceasar salad was fantastic. And my SO is very picky, especially since she is an incredible chef herself. I'll add that the staff and our host, Kailey (sp?) was an absolute delight. Talk about pressure under fire. The place was packed! Oh, and by the way, the Mercedes Maybach was not ours LOL!

Quality food, and incredible ocean view, excellent service. They made me feel like an honored regular guest even though it has been a while since I’ve been here. We are a couple who love each other very much and enjoy every moment together

We had an amazing experience with Gene! We had an 1130am reservation and got seated at a window table with fresh air and ocean sounds. We sampled 3 appetizers ... spinach and artichoke dip, shrimp crab mango stack, and coconut shrimp -- all were beautiful and delicious. Clam chowder was tasty and had a good clam/potato balance. Ladies enjoyed their salads and cod sandwiches and French Dip were excellent. Good wine and beer selection.

We've eaten at this location twice in three weeks: the first one for our anniversary, and the second because my mother-in-law saw the pictures of the food and when she just visited us from the Bay Area wanted to eat there. We love the view, the servers and of course the food. They only have a few desserts, but they're great. I also loved my drink: fleur de lis (I had it twice). Yum, yum!!!

Went here during restaurant week with a friend. I got the stuffed shrimp with crab and the Caesar salad plus sorbet for dessert. The restaurant was packed and you would have to find parking on the side street unless you want valet.

We had a large party with a semi-pre-arranged menu with an open bar. Even with the large party, the service was great. The drinks from premium to well drinks were very good. The lobstertail and steak were great as well. The sunset and views were tremendous.

I was with my sons and family. A total of 6 of us.Manager Peter as always offered a warm greeting.My server was Kelly who was just absolutely wonderful. She is as lovely as she was so very proficient in her serving.She made our meal so very Delightful!! I watched how easily she moved from one table to the next taking care of every person.She is so very eloquent in her mannerisms and speech. Our order was taken and brought to us in a reasonable amount of time even though there were a lot of guests I ordered the swordfish.... Ummm delicious. One son ordered a steak. He said it was done just right. I guess because he gobbled it down .My other son ordered the Black cod. He too said it was cooked just right. MY granddaughter ordered off the kids menu. She was very contented.we ordered non alcohol grasshoppers. Manager Peter showed that he's still got the touch when it comes to making drinks!! Oh yes I must tell you about our seating. Perfect view of the ocean. The whole entire evening was "THE BEST". Of course I always expect the best and receive the best. This is why I have been coming every Christmas for the past 18 years!!! Of course this is my go to restaurant for spe cial Dinning occasions!!. The valet parking guys were excellent!! I never have any worry when I hand the attendant my Keys to my fourrunner!! This place is totally awesome .Thank you Manager Peter, lovely server Kelly for a just Wonderful dinning experience!!

Everything was wonderful. The food was delicious, and our server was terrific. He checked on us often. We had a window seat so we could see the ocean while we enjoyed our food. There is complimentary valet parking.

Really beautiful spot for happy hour! Feels like you’re on a boat looking out the window with the waves coming directly towards the restaurant, and gorgeous watching the sun come down. The happy hour menu was also tasty. Beers were $5 I believe and cocktails $8. Plates ranged from $6-12. Lots of nice seafood options. I really enjoyed the Kim Chee Calamari. My only complaint was that happy hour menu was only offered in the bar even though there were plenty of empty tables next to or closer to the windows.

Stopped in for an early dinner, best meal I've had in ages, hands down. The menu is completely filled with things that sounded delicious and everything we tried was amazing. The black and blue swordfish we're both fantastic, the escargot on mushrooms we're mind-bogglingly good, the cocktail shrimp had a cool presentation using dried ice but we're also the best cleanest tasting shrimp I've ever had. The cocktail sauce was even exceptionally delicious. The servers are super helpful, friendly, and communicative. They do their jobs extremely well.

The food is delicious, drinks are potent and the view is unmatched, not to mention the service is excellent. How did I miss this place all these years. My new favorite.

We were at the Chart house in Cardiff to celebrate my good friend of over 35 years Birthday. Kevin the waiter was fabulous. He was attentive, kind and professional. Best of all was my Prime Rib. The chef cooked it to perfection. Just the way I like it. My friends and I had a wonderful time.

It has the best ocean view from the whole room. The Happy hour menu was extraordinary. We had 5 food dishes and 2 alcoholic drinks for $65. Our server Ray was very attentive and friendly. We had the chocolate lavender cake for dessert and it was delicious, sumptuous and exquisite. We will come back soon ♥️

Beautiful location, great atmosphere and it is just as fun going for a brunch as it is going for dinner. Dress attire is mixed you can get fancy or dress in a pair of nice jeans with a blouse. Food ..... well I haven't had anything I don't like yet.

Great experience here! Rebecca was an awesome server. She gave great recommendations and really took take of us 👍 We sat at the lounge/bar area and still had a great view of the ocean. My only concern was the bathroom. Small and messy, while the urinal right next to the door.

I'll start with the outcome: We had a wonderful time celebrating our Anniversary Dinner on Sunday 11/26. The food was fantastic (prime rib & salmon were exceptional). Dessert was great as well. Cocktails were perfect. The restaurant has a classy and comfortable vibe. Beautiful beach views. So fun and memorable. For this, I gave our overall experience 5 stars. The one area I'd improve in the future is specifically requesting a window table with a view for special occasions. I noted that it was our wedding anniversary in my online reservation, yet nobody seemed to know this, and our table location was underwhelming. We were hoping for just a little verbal acknowledgment of our wedding anniversary, as all high end restaurants typically do, and a more romantic table location. Instead, our booth was right next to a large party celebrating a birthday. Little ones running around the table all evening, as you might expect during a lively birthday celebration. No issue at all with their fun. We were just looking for a more romantic table in this huge restaurant to enjoy a quieter celebration, hoping for some conversation, and an overall better table location to celebrate. When I asked the hostess if we could move to one of the open tables with a sunset view by the windows, she declined our request. She then went ahead and sat 3 ladies at one of the available tables right by the window. Of course, we were disappointed that she wasn't more hospitable, accommodating and communicative. Our server also had no idea we chose Charthouse to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The rest of the evening made up for things. Our server was a total rockstar, and the food and cocktails were fabulous. The rest of the team on the floor was very friendly, which compensated for the awkward start to the evening. We didn't want to make a big deal about this that busy evening, but I sure hope someone reads this feedback. We chose Charthouse because it truly has some of the most exceptional views among coastal restaurants on the 101. Every celebration should be treated with equal enthusiasm and accommodations, whether a party of 2 or a party of 50.

There to celebrate my/our Bday with a sister in Christ. She blessed me with treating. Was there in time for the view to an AMAZING sunset due to our table's location (Thank you Zack, our host) Our waiters Mark & Hector were EXTREMELY attentive. Ordered the recommended drink that I TRULY Njoyed. Soooo glad I ordered the Restaurant Week selection. From the delicious Cesar salad (the dressing was the best I've EVER tasted). My 3 shrimp were HUGE and there was a piece of lobster in every bite. The rolls were HOT and the butter was SOFT. Soooooo rare to get that combo at ANY restaurant. Lastly, the Hot Chocolate Lava cake was absolutely DELICIOUS with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. ONLY regret 2 things... not requesting more croutons on the Cesar salad and an extra scoop of vanilla ice cream. However, soooo glad to the MINI vs the normal size cake cuz I was sooo full as it was. Kudos and MAJOR appreciation to Monica for the 3 EXTRA shrimp for my sister in Christ's meal. Highly recommend eating here. ESPECIALLY for a special event. Lastly, our waiter Mark opened the window for us which enhanced the dining experience to another level. To smell the ocean, hear the waves and feel the wind made for an EXTREMELY memorable experience.

I had never been to this restaurant before. My family made reservations for New Year's Eve and right from the rip, as we walked inside we were offered hors d'oeuvres of fried, butterflied shrimp that were incredibly delicious. The atmosphere was still very merry from Christmas and the vibe was pleasant. Even though we made a reservation, we had a small wait so we hit up the bar and both the bartenders were extraordinarily fast and incredibly attentive. Upon being seated upstairs, our server, Wendi greeted us immediately. They had a specific New Year's menu with three courses. A starter, the entree and a dessert. They had many options that were tempting, but I finally decided on the Caesar salad, prime rib (which was as smooth as butter! ), and the key lime pie. The food was delicious and the portions were so great that I was able to take home enough for another meal! If anyone has never been to this location, I would sincerely recommend it. The location is literally on the beach and when it's high tide the waves go over the rocks and crash into the windows! It's incredibly extraordinary to witness! Our server, Wendi went above and beyond with recommendations and pleasantries of conversations which were incredibly appreciated. Her friendliness and down-to-earth attitude made the entire experience that much more enjoyable.. Will come back!!

I have been here many times and tried all shorts of different items and by far everything was delicious and nothing was wasted. The drinks here also are good! Chart House in Cardiff was terrific tonight. My wife and I celebrated her birthday and got a perfect window seat. Our server (Lynn) was the best and took excellent care of us. My prime rib was very high quality beef and perhaps the best tasting prime rib that I've had in a long time (including local steak houses and in Hawaii). My wife said her filet was delicious and melted in her mouth. Salads were perfect, mushrooms, baked potato, etc. were prepared just right. We really had a great time thanks to everyone at the Chart House. The manager came around to check on everyone to see how things were going. Prices are reasonable based on the high quality of food. I think they have actually improved since the last time we were here. No charge for valet parking (except for tip of course). We will return again soon.

Unbeatable oceanfront whitewater location, right on the beach!!! Of course, amazing views of the sea. The fillet was good, lobster tail was excellent, coconut shrimp extraordinary and the cheesecake was decent. The facility is quite nice with a mezzanine tucked over the kitchen, also with a commanding ocean view. Cool open kitchen feature. The service was exemplary. From the valet to the hostess, everyone was in a good mood and quite helpful. Our waiter, Jose, was especially excellent, and looks like Mandy Patinkin! The spinach and artichoke dip was weird, but good. Kinda corn forward instead of the usual parmesean cheese flavor. Not bad, but unexpected. The chips were perfectly crispy. The mashed potato was perfection. Parking is free and tight, but 100% valet, so not a problem. Highly recommended for romantic or business affair. The bathroom didn't smell, but had water or pee all over by the toilet. Hopefully a small leak in a fixture. For a five star location, the food was 4 star. Excellent but not superstar. The location makes this place shine. Cesear salad was okay, cocktails and mocktails were OK.

Went on a Tuesday night, the place was very empty. We very easily got a table by the windows. Started with the coconut shrimp appetizer. It was delicious, and well-presented on a bed of rice paper and rice noodles. Kind of a waste, since we didn't eat any of that. I ordered the blackened king salmon. The fish was super tender, but the blackening could have been stronger. Minus one star for that. My wife ordered the filet mignon. She said It was very flavorful, but honestly she's had more tender steaks elsewhere. Minus one more star for that. But, adding back one star for the amazing chocolate lava cake!

Great view and delicious food. Came for lunch and shared 3 plates. The seafood Cobb salad was delicious, the sushi roll we ordered was terrific as well. The fish taco was good, but the other two dishes knocked the fish tacos off.. definitely worth it and amazing views.

The restaurant and scenery are beautiful. The restaurant has access to the beach. The food was very good. I went here for a business dinner and it was a truly memorable night. The wine selection is extensive. We had the calamari, cheese platter, and hummas appetizers. All three were very good but my favorite was the hummas. The bread they bring out is also very good. I ordered the menage shrimp plate. It was 9 pieces of shrimp. 3 coconut, 3 crab stuffed and 3 on a cedar plank and covered in salsa. The only reason I didn't give this place a higher rating is because we were there for 3 hours. It took a very long time to get our food to the table.

Awesome view. Waiting time for main entrees took a little longer. Waitress was kinda absent minded but picked up the pace at the end. We ordered shrimp with avocado+mango stack, coconut crunchy shrimp (deliciously authentic), macnut mahi, herb crusted+slow roasted prime rib, springtime strawberries salad with and without grilled salmon. I went here with a group of friends to celebrate a birthday. The "birthday girl" wanted a window seat and they were gracious and accommodated that request. We had an assortment of appetizers and entrees, all of which were delicious. The service felt a bit slow, but everyone was personable and lovely. The best thing about the restaurant may be the amazing ocean view.

Had friends in town and stopped by for drinks. Food was good. Service was ok forgot to give us steak knives for our steaks and slow on refills for drinks. But all forgiven because the ocean view and this flight of mojitos was amazing. Will go back just for drinks at the bar.

Friendly, accommodating staff. We had a massive party of 35 and they gladly took us only a few hours ahead of time. The food was good, but I expected higher quality from some of the food. I ordered the prime rib it was some of the worst I’ve had. My dad liked it, though. Many others ordered the seafood and had lots of positive feedback. The Caesar salad was good. Nothing special. What was special, though, was the Lava Cake. Some of the best I’ve ever had. If I come back it would be for that (and maybe to try the Chilean sea bass, which I’ve heard good things about). I do recommend, even though my experience was ideal. But I hope to be back here to give the place another shot soon.

What a much better experience I had, in comparison to Peohe's. Went with my best friend for lunch, we were lucky enough to get a corner window seat as the breeze and sound of the ocean was right in front of us. The only reason I am giving it a 4 instead of a 5 is because I wasn't told if I didn't want the sandwich that it would be the dinner price for my entree. Other than that the food was excellent, the atmosphere divine, and our server was an extremely professional and friendly young man. I recommend this restaurant and will be back.

The majority of dishes were delicious, service was good but at times a tad slow and we had to follow up numerous times for water, bread, wine refills, etc (in fairness it was a busy Friday), and atmosphere was beautiful, right on the water - a perfect place for sunset dinner. Food and drinks are on the pricier end but reasonable for what they are. Overall would go back.

Chart House was our pre Mother’s Day destination and as expected, they were quite busy. We decided to valet and to our surprise it was complimentary! Just had to remember to tip. Upon check in, we were immediately informed that they were running a little behind. We only waited 15 minutes past our reservation though and we were seated right by the window which allowed us to enjoy the beautiful ocean views. The staff were friendly and efficient. We never once noticed that they were behind. For libations, I ordered their Butterfly Effect cocktail as well as their old fashioned, for two. There was a table side show for the butterfly effect which we and everyone around us enjoyed. The old fashioned was smooth and had good flavor. For appetizers, we ordered their crab cake and shrimp cocktail. The crab cake was flavorful, but personally I thought the texture was a tad mushy. The shrimp cocktail was amazing. The temperature was perfect and it tasted fresh. The cocktail sauce had a nice kick. For entrees, we ordered the lobster linguine in a tomato broth, seared citrus king salmon and chicken tenders (my daughter loves her tenders). The linguine was satisfying. The lobster was cooked perfectly and the broth, which tasted similar to the broth in a cioppino, was light. It complemented the dish quite well. The seared king salmon was served with quinoa with tarragon vinaigrette. The salmon was well seasoned and well cooked, but it still had bones. It made for cautious eating. The side of quinoa had an odd flavor and we didn’t think it paired well with the fish. The chicken tenders were crispy, juicy and flavorful. The accompaniment of fries were also delicious. For dessert, we chose their lava cake. We had to order this dish 30 minutes before to allow for cooking time. The cake was light and the soft chocolate center was decadent. I had an expresso with the dessert and it was absolute perfection. We paid about $320 with tip and it was money well spent; will return to try other menu items.

The location can't be beat. The service between happy hour vs. dinner is night and day. Dinner service is impeccable. Happy hour service will leave you stranded for long periods and we've been overcharged more than once. Food is really good, we like the prime rib for dinner and several of the happy hour offerings.

Food was okay, and our waiter was excellent. We made a reservation for my birthday dinner. The ocean view is great, especially when you enjoy your dinner and the sunset at the same time. The beach is just next to the restaurant. We walked down to the beach after dinner and made this dinner experience last longer in the sunset glow and the music of the sea wave.

My children spoiled me and brought me here to celebrate my birthday on a Saturday evening. Excellent location and views. Parking was quite busy so we parked on the road and enjoyed the walk beside the beach. We had asked for a window table and waited in the bar area for it. (Also very nice views) They have us a great table by the window and we enjoyed lovely sunset views. I would suggest you take a sweater though for when the sun goes down it gets cold and the manager said he could not close the huge windows because of the other guests. ( I noticed they are heavily tinted so likely affects the view) The food was good. My shrimps and scallops while tasty were disappointingly quite small - especially for the price - This is place between $$$$ to $$$$$ per person per entree. The rice/ risotto was under cooked and I’m not a fan of the tomatoes in it. Another person said she enjoyed her steak very much - filet mignon with garlic mashed potatoes. And one of us had the butter Chilean sea bass which was delicious. We also added asparagus which was a good size order and more than enough for the table of 3. We ordered the lava cake with our meal because waitress said it takes 30 mins to make. It was strange - she brought our bill before we asked for it but she had forgotten to bring the lava cake. She fixed it and it was delicious and then she brought the bill. They also brought an ice cream scoop with a candle in it for my birthday. 😊 Valet was busy as we were leaving around 9:30pm and it was a nice night to walk down road by beach to our car. Overall it was a great night, beautiful views, good service and good food and great company.

This is a very nice, high-end restaurant with a wide selection of seafood and meats. The place is big and they can tend to huge parties. They have huge windows so you can look out to see the sunset which is great. The staff is nice, although I feel they could have stopped by the tables more often and checked on our needs. The Chilean sea bass was amazing as were the crab legs. The margarita however was not very good. It didn't taste like a margarita, but more like an island drink. We did enjoy the appetizers although the calamari was not available. Lots of nice wine options on a big menu.

Went for lunch. Was very nice. Great views, awesome lobster bisque. The blackened salmon was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The coconut shrimp was crunchy and mixed great with the sauce, the cream sauce made the shrimp go to new heights. Little slow on service,and bread was not ready when we got there.

Our server Wendy was amazing! We had a perfect view of a gorgeous sunset! The food was not bad, but it wasn't great either. We had the prime rib, coconut shrimp, Mashed potatoes and Loaded baked potato, choped salad and a side of sauteed mushrooms. None of it stood out. It was all just okay.

Chart House Cardiff San Diego I tried the kim Chee calamari and the $24 lunch menu. kimchi calamari ($17)was very delicious. And I ordered the clam chowder and the salmon burger, and they were tasty. I made a reservation at a place with an ocean view in advance, and the atmosphere was clean and upscale, which I really liked. However, the service was not great. It seemed like they didn’t pay much attention to the table after the food was served. There was only valet parking, and they charged $6.

Came here for lunch after only experiencing dinner before. I didn’t have a reservation but was lucky to be seated by the window. It was pretty busy, even on a Saturday. The service was excellent, and the lunch menu was good, lots of different options! I personally prefer the dinner options, but it is still, it’s a great spot to enjoy a relaxing lunch with a nice view and the water was very friendly and attentive.

Beautiful location and good service. Food was subpar. Cobb salad had wilted lettuce and a mere shake of egg yolk on the side. Shrimp had been frozen; was bland and tough. Burger and fries both passable only. With this stunning location and high prices, the food should be good to very good. It is not.

I got a sweetened fish but sauce was too sweet for my taste. May be next time I should have some pasta. The lava cake did not have lava.

The food was good but nothing special. Our table was near an open window with a cold draft. We had to request they close it three times before they closed it. This restaurant is way overpriced for the value received.

Service was pretty bad for a “nice restaurant”. Bartender was slammed and no one was helping him. Waitress didn’t have answers when we asked her the different preparations for the fish. She also tried to take our dishes about 4 times prior to us being ready. Chowder was good. Everything else was fine.

My wife looked up brunch on Christmas day on Open Table and Chart House popped up. We've never eaten there and didn't bother to look at previous reviews. Brunch was not being served on Christmas. In fact, showing up in the morning, you'd assume there would be some form of breakfast. Instead, there was a 3 course dinner menu, served all day. Caesar salad and clam chowder to start were fine. Risotto was very bad with a tasteless Chilean sea bass. My steak in the surf and turf was tasteless as well. 3 uninteresting desserts on the menu. Overall, a place you go for the scenery, not the food. Very average for what you pay.

This restaurant has amazing views of the ocean, but we were not overly impressed with the food. The Caesar salad was very unique and was served in a cheese bow, highly recommend trying that. My husband’s prime rib was 75% fat, but the swordfish on mango sticky rice was delicious. The sauce was so good. We didn’t love the lava cake, even though it was highly recommended. The crème brûlée trio was good though.

We were so excited to try Chart House. We had reservations and got to sit 35 minutes after our reservations. The food was borderline good. Before we get into that, we will start with our server, who was a very aggressive and off-putting person. From the moment we sat down, we had a profile view of our server, never faced our table, introduced himself and barely stopped by most of the nigh. When he would speak to us… he would be short with responses and very cold. Not sure if we offended him, or if he was having a bad day, but it was not only in his communication. We had to flag him down for everything. We would see him chatting with other servers and he seemed ok, but when he came back, he would be a totally different person. It was so difficult to order drinks, refill requests, sauces, any questions (it was our first visit) he just seemed to be annoyed. We asked him how much longer our food would be, it was 45 minutes AFTER we ordered, he didn’t apologize or show any compassion, he just said “it’ll be soon” and walked off. Never had such cold service. The plating of the food was sloppy. The orzo has no flavor and barely any vegetables as described. The fish is plopped onto the plate, and it was “Topped with garlic butter” but had no flavor. On top of that, three of the four entrees were brought out, then a couple mins later our server just walks up and made a quick comment about the 4th entree and ran off. There is absolutely no effort in presentation whatsoever- not even a fresh sprig of parsley or anything. We asked for lemon slices, salt and pepper. The baked potato had sour cream that had completed melted, it was disgusting, but the potato itself and bacon topping was cold. Must have been sitting under a lamp for a while. It just seemed like our entire visit was an inconvenience to our server. It really sucked to be so excited to go somewhere and have such a let down. What makes it worse, all the other servers around us seemed to be engaged with their tables - the gentleman across from us was so sweet to his table! The view is nice and they’re not blasting music so you can have conversation.

Went to eat here, drove up from SD thinking its gotta be nice and great! Well, they must have been Having an off night, but it was bad... The wine took forever then they couldnt find it and so we switched, no biggie, but the bottle of Wine that came out was a different year than the menu said...they said the winery just ships whatever sometimes 🤣🤣, haha, worst excuse I heard in a while. Things Took forever. The Oysters tasted and seemed like they got chucked yesterday. The Mushrooms were good. Then the steak, oh dang, epic fail. Filet mignon was ordered medium. Well it came out well. They tried again, mmmh, grr, rare to medium rare this time..., and only salted, not fabulous. Unfortunately they ran out of crab crusted halibut,i really wanted that! Did i mention it Took forever. Then the Men's room was out of soap. And I walked into the 'wine cellar' and it was warm and bright and i was pretty much appalled... The experience was bad, I really was expecting and hoping for alot more

Food was ok, service meh. Husband requested a waterside table for my birthday, we sat next to the severs prep table. Watermelon feta salad was good, lobster shrimp carbonara was nothing write home about, too much parmesan, not creamy and rich with egg yolks, prosciutto non existent, lacked salt. The staff forgot to place our dinner order, so good service and nice dinner were out the door. The old rich elite were all served all before us,it took over 15 minutes for the server to take our cocktails. Disappointed and dissatisfied.

The steak was delicious, the mushrooms good as well, but the dessert was awful…you need to wait up to 30 minutes for absolutely nothing special like browny with ice cream on top ..it’s definitely not worth it..waist of time. The cocktail was ok. The biggest disappointment is the restroom.. how it’s possible to build it like that ..just check the picture… If you want to enjoy the view I highly recommend you to check another restaurant.

Y'all, the view is amazing. It's been quite a few years since I went to the Chart House anywhere. Great to reconnect. We had a reservation for 7, we made for 4pm the day before. They couldn't find our reservation. The front desk was a disaster and the hostess seemed completely unconscious. No real value from her at all. There was a gentleman not worth much more at his job. It was a mess getting seated. Service, the gentleman was sweet, however, he really screwed up. When informed that one of our party was greatly allergic to nightshade peppers, and clearly stated such, he said he would check with the chef. He didn't and brought the dish out anyway. And guess what...peppers. The exchange dish came out a half hour after everyone else's meals. Not once did a manager touch the table with an apology. Nor did they bring her anything for her to nibble on with her family while she waited. She simply sat there uncomfortably while she waited and didn't get to dine with her group. Pretty low end way to handle a hick-up if you ask me. So many ways they could have improved that were all missed. Everyone can excel when things go well, it's how you handle the misses that show your true quality. Lastly, the food was average at best. Lack of seasoning on pretty much every dish. With no check-backs. I wouldn't go back for anything but cocktails. Not worth it for the substandard experience especially at these prices.

This place would have long been gone if it wasn't right beside the ocean. Food is mediocre at best, plating is sloppy, service was very slow. I watched our server get quadruple sat so not managed well at all. This is the type of restaurant that gets out of towners that usually dine at applebee's and they come here and think "this is a nice restaurant". Support local, stop keeping these mid chains in business people.

Antiquated spot with antiquated amenities. My husband and I came here for the first time and brought our 2 month old. At some point he needed a diaper change but the men’s bathroom doesn’t have a changing table. The staff and manager seemed baffled that a man would even need access to change a babies diaper. It was very clear we didn’t belong there. Wont be coming back.

We didn’t get seated until an hour and five minutes after our reservation time. We were seated next to a window with a nice ocean view which almost made up for the wait, however the Manager came up to our table and told us that the hostess had made a mistake and our table was to be given to someone else. The Manager then proceeded to tell us that he would need to find a different table for us. This was very upsetting and when I explained to the Manager that we had already waited over an hour to be seated, he proceeded to repeat that he promised the table to someone else and had no empathy for our experience. The other party that the Manager was trying to seat at our table told the Manager that they would be ok sitting at a different table, the only reason that we were able to keep the table we were seated at. Horrible service and from the Manager no less. Very disappointing.

What happened? They couldn’t seat us and so many 30-45 minutes after our reservation. We went to Buona Forchetta instead and got right in for amazing Italian. Try Buona instead!

Had a reservation for 6:15 and was never seated. When asked, people were still waiting for a 530 reservation at 630. Finally left and went next door to Pacific Coast grille. Very disappointed with the hostesses-their heads were down trying to avoid the crowd and any questions. In addition, the executive chef was seen in the bar casually chatting with guests multiple times all the while 30ish people were waiting for a table. Granted it was restaurant week and PGA but not getting seated in time with a reservation that was made weeks in advance was extremely disappointing. Will not be returning...

Rude and vulgar staff, outdated chain restaurant pretending to be local fine dining. Crazy prices for the quality. Valet parks customer vehicles illegally in the bike lane of the highway. I have reached out to local and corporate staff and still have not heard back from either.

The setting was spectacular and the service perfect. But my dish was cold. Mine took a long time to come to the table. The broccoli was not cooked thoroughly and hard to cut and eat. The coconut shrimp was tiny and disappointing. Food had no seasoning and very bland. Would not go back.

We arrived for our reservation only to be sat forty five minutes later. I get that the restaurant was busy, but 45 minutes? My party’s appetizers all arrived, except my salad. When the salad finally arrive it was warm, looked like it was thrown on the plate and drowned in dressing. The $15 chopped salad was wilted, watery and worse than a Walmart bag salad. Every dish that came to the table was slopped to one side of the plate, whether it was served by the chefs, the waitress or the server. My wife’s dessert slopped over as it was set down and it fell apart. The service was so bad that it was more than thirty minutes between courses and I went most of the night without a drink. After the entree I never got a refill and had nothing to drink with my dessert. This was my first experience at the chart house and I will never return.

They have mice running around! We had just ordered drinks when a mouse ran out from under our table. When we told our server, he dismissed our concern and said it’s “been there all week” like that made it acceptable. Then asked if we were going to order our steaks or what… The manager was equally unhelpful and offered no attempt to reconcile the situation. We left and ate at Pacific Coast Grill instead, where customers are treated with basic decency. 👎
