Great experience, cocktails ,wine list and food. Been 5 times already. Everything is house made . Fresh pasta a local seafood .

Delicious Italian Food. You can feel the good quality of the ingredients and the careful crafting of the cooking. Service was excellent and the espresso martini cocktail was above and beyond. The wine selection by glass I thought it was a little limited. But I had a Chianti that didn’t disappoint. Overall, I would say one of the best Italian restaurants in Puerto Rico.

Anoche tuvimos la oportunidad de disfrutar esta maravilla !!! Una amiga nuestra estaba hospedándose en el hotel y una persona que estaba en el bar lo recomendó ! Revisamos los reviews y decidimos ir !! La experiencia fue espectacular de principio a fin !! El restaurante es precioso , decorado con muy buen gusto , teniendo en cuenta hasta el más mínimo detalle para crear un ambiente acogedor . El servicio es impecable y la comida de otro mundo, una explosión de sabor en cada bocado y definitivamente un disfrute impresionante . El menú es variado y con ofertas creativas y novedosas que te invitan a arriesgarte ! Recomendado 1.000/100 .

Una de las mejores experiencias culinarias que he tenido. 100% recomendado. Desde el primer momento te hacen sentir querido, atendido y verdaderamente complacido como cliente. La comida es única: una explosión de sabores en cada plato, con combinaciones que van más allá de lo que normalmente podriamos estar acostumbrados a degustar. La coctelería es excepcional; cada trago es un manjar perfectamente equilibrado, sin sabores invasivos, permitiéndote disfrutar en cada sorbo el propósito y la inspiración detrás de su creación.

Una experiencia culinaria inolvidable! Me encantó, superó todas mis expectativas. Tiene un ambiente elegante y relajado. Todos los platos que probé fueron exquisitos; de los que recuerdo, el fettuccine al mascarpone estaba increíble: cremoso, suave y con muchísimo sabor. El salmón también fue perfecto, jugoso y con una salsa deliciosa. La atención fue de diez. Todos fueron súper amables y atentos, me hicieron sentir especial, junto con la compañía perfecta. Se nota que cuidan los detalles y usan ingredientes de calidad. ¡Altamente recomendado para los amantes de la buena comida italiana!

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Food and service are beyond 5 stars! We visit Italy every year and I rarely find a rival to the food outside of Italy but!! You will find authentic, fresh, delicious Italian food in San Juan At Sottoveneto! The service was excellent and the location is beautiful and modern with an intimate atmosphere. Absolute must try!

I often dine in restaurants. I have visited many. This restaurant has the right atmosphere, first-class service and excellent Italian food. Its wine cellar offers a wide selection. Recommended.

Chris was our server and the service was excellent. Got both steaks on the menu and they were perfect.

Such a great dinner experience the food was delicious, service was outstanding my server was so friendly and had great meal suggestions , drinks were amazing and the whole ambiance of the restaurant was just perfect 👌 highly recommended if you want to eat tasty Italian food will definitely visit again next time in Puerto Rico

The restaurant chef is Christian Dracolli the best Italian chef that Puerto Rico has at this moment, food preparation and quality are superb, but the best part is the mixture of ingredients and sauces not too heavy not too light just right to express perfectly the dish flavor. The restaurant is nice with fine decor, service was very friendly and fast, apparently they do have a good wine list but I brought my own wine so I didn’t look at it. It is a truly great real Italian restaurant as if you were in Italy

This is a marvelous restaurant. Food was great, the specials were creative and the traditional menu items were excellently prepared. We walked in and got a table straight away but I get the feeling that reservations would be advisable.

First timer's there... Totally impressed with this restaurant. Typically I don't want to go to a restaurant in a hotel but we decided to and was so happy we did. Once we had this experience we went back again a day or two later. Carlos and his crew were friendly, happy and informative. First, let me say we had our two grandchildren with us... one, 3 years old, second, 6 months. We were not sure if they wanted us and I would generally not bring children to a restaurant but we were on vacation and Carlos accommodated we in so many ways. My wife and I decided to have a drink called Roma on the drink menu, it was probably the best, what I can an old fashion that I've ever had... I had many of them. We had the Fettuccine with Mascarpone, Pappardelle with Southern Ragu and the Pasta with Roasted Tomatoes... let me tell you... these were some of the most delicious meals we have ever had in our lives... NOT KIDDING. You feel you eating a homemade Italian meal in Italy, that's how good they were. I told Carlos that I'd would write a review on another website but I can't because I did not make the resy their. Carlos, thanks to you and your crew for making our experiences and meals, including my wife's birthday celebration so special. I hope to come back some day. Please give our compliments to the chef and his crew too. Ciao

Amazing Italian Dining Experience! We had a fantastic dinner at Sottovento. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the ambiance was warm and welcoming. My wife, baby, and I felt right at home from the moment we walked in. The flavors were authentic, and you can tell the ingredients are fresh. Every dish we tried was well-prepared and full of taste. The staff was attentive and friendly, making sure we had everything we needed. This is definitely a place we’ll be coming back to. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a great Italian meal in a cozy and friendly setting!

We had an absolutely wonderful dining experience! Chris, our waiter, was warm, attentive, and incredibly accommodating. Emmanuel, the manager, went out of his way to make sure everything was perfect—he kindly allowed a few substitutions and truly made us feel welcome. The food was outstanding—every dish was full of flavor and beautifully prepared. Compliments to the chef! To top it all off, they surprised us with a complimentary dessert in celebration of our 30th wedding anniversary—such a thoughtful touch that made the night extra special. Thank you to the entire team for making our evening so memorable!

Fantastic food. Friendly personable staff. This is my second time to this restaurant. For me , it’s got that nice mix of “fancy “ with a touch of casual elegance. The chef has not disappointed. The owner was nice enough to open 30 mins early to accommodate me. Many thanks! I have been looking forward to coming here all week since my last visit. While I’m in PR I will be coming here for a nice dinner Compliments to the owner and staff for having very nice spot to relax and eat great food. A special acknowledgement to the bartender Fransico, he made the bar feel like it was my home bar even though we had only met twice. And he wasn’t skimpy on his pores!

The best meal we have had in Puerto Rico in the past 2 years of coming here . The service is the best on the island, ambiance is so welcoming & accommodating and the food is reasonably priced with amazing flavoring. (The linguine is the best I have ever had). This is my top suggestion for anyone needing a go-to dinner spot on the island.

This place is a a hidden gem. Chef Alessandro is unreal— best meal we had in Sardinia, easily. The service was top-notch. The moment that we walked in, we received a glass of Prosecco and full attention. The attention continued throughout the night and in every detail. The food was exquisite. They had a guitar player/ singer and a percussionist who were both stellar and created such a vibe! Do not sleep on this!

I've had the pleasure of dining at Sottovento several times for business meetings, and it never fails to impress. Each dish is prepared fresh, and you can truly taste the care and passion that goes into every plate. My personal favorites are the pumpkin soup (rich and full of flavor), the Rib-eye Steak, and, of course, the 'Pappardelle 8HR Ragú.' What truly sets the experience apart, however, is the exceptional service. The staff goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome and is dedicated to fulfilling every request with care. Highly recommended!

I had the pasta and lobster dinner with Chili. A bit spicy but very tasty. We mentioned to the manager that it was a bit spicy for us and he did the right thing bringing out several magnificent desserts as well as an after dinner drink. You couldn’t ask for a more polite manager. I would definitely recommend you visit Sottovento during your trip in San Juan.

I've visited the restaurant twice and both times I've received excellent service. The waiters are familiar with the menu and know how to make recommendations. The food is exquisite, varied, and incredibly flavorful. 100% recommended if you want a place with a pleasant atmosphere, beautifully decorated, and good service and food.

The best dinner we have had in Puerto Rico. The food was fresh and delicious and served hot. Service was attentive and excellent. The atmosphere was beautiful and very classy but comfortable. Would definitely recommend this restaurant very highly. Everyone in our party of 6 was very happy.

Food was pretty good. The pasta was a bit undercooked in all three pasta dishes we ordered. definitely overpriced but the service was excellent.

This restaurant is not part of the Royal Sonesta. You cannot charge it to your room or use any hotel credit. Food tastes not that bad but the portions are extremely small. Really overpriced.

Average food, very slow service. Dinner took 3 hours. Go somewhere else.

I ordered the Chicken Parmesan based on the waiters recommendation. It arrived burnt to a crisp on the bottom. I couldn't even cut through it. When I turned it over to look at the underside it was totally black. My husband ordered the cioppino, also a waiters recommendation. The seafood was barely warm and the sauce was so salty he couldn't eat it. Both dishes were returned. The chicken was replaced with a properly cooked dish but missing the basil. The other dish was replaced with Branzino that was eatable but unremarkable. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. It's overpriced and our food was very disappointing.

A very dissapointing experience. Waited an hour for the food, no explanation. Food never came. Couple that came in after us got food in 15 minutes. No explanation. Temperature is very cold. Kitchen is disorganized.
